RAC configuration ip address config

Hi hussein/heliosl,

I want install RAC.
One needs is to have 3 pairs of IP addresses? on both nodes? I'm wrong with this understanding?

Thank you very much

My question is... can I type any IP address here? and call it private, public or virtual? even if they are just fake IPs? Can I exchange these IPs?
The best way to ask your system administrator. Normally in the installation of VMware you can give what you want, but if you do a company its best way to take your comments or support to administration system

For VMware installation stage & screen check:

  • RAC + Configuration Data Guard

In terms of high level, if you run a 2 node RAC and get invited to create a recovery site disaster 2 nodes, how I would go all this? (The cluster in the site recovery has already been created and installed the software Oracle 11.2.0.1).

I think in general that a clone of production to the secondary site RMAN would be an idea: but that is possible with both nodes of production upwards? And is the best approach for cloning a single instance and then add a second instance manually at a later time?

Any pointers or tips for a custodian of data 2 nodes of a 2-node RAC configuration would be appreciated, basically. I realize, it's pretty vague, but I'm just brought this out right now and need some general indications.

  • Cards (NICs) Ethernet in the RAC configuration

    DB version: 11g

I came across this nice link on the RAC configuration
    http://www.akadia.com/services/ora_rac.html

    Question 1.

Cons. in the diagram, I can see eth0 and eth1 in both nodes. They are physical maps ethernet (NIC). Right?

    Question 2.
Each node has 2 ethernet cards is common in the industry. Right?

    Question 3.
For Private InterConnect ===>One ethernet card from each node, connected via Switch1

For Public InterConnect plus Connection to Shared storage  ====> One ethernet card from each node, connected via Switch2
This is the standard practice in Production DBs?

A question that you asked and there are very important with regard to the questions you have asked - what is the best technology to use for interconnection (private network and switch)?

And is not ethernet (as shown in this diagram you mentioned). The speed and scalability of the interconnection have a major impact on the performance of the cluster.

Gig-ethernet is limited in scalability and features. 10 Gb/s is the maximum. The standard of 1 Gbps. It does not support SDP (Sockets Direct Protocol), SRP (SCSI RDMA/Remote direct memory access Protocol) and so on. (although SRP specifications were available to sellers for implementing ethernet).

If you look at what Oracle Database Machine and Exadata storage servers is using, this is Infiniband... and protocols such as SRP.

InfiniBand out-of-the-box works at 40 Gbit/s (extendable up to 120 GB/s). Port to port latency is as low as 60ns (and still less with hardware and new technologies of the IB).

I don't see how GigE even thinking to challenge Infiniband with in this regard. Especially since Oracle himself chose as the interconnection architecture (and layer of communication of storage) for the fastest CARS ever built systems.

And no, it's not expensive either. Our IB material cost us really less similar material GigE.

    S

    Hi S,

The XML code above is not correct, it should look like this:

      com.test.TestCacheFacory

          java.lang.String
          coherence-cache-config.xml

          string
          Helloeee

The first init-param cannot have a id = attribute. The XML code is used to replace the code XML in the tangosol - coherence.xml inside the coherence.jar file and the XML being overloaded without an id for the first init-param attribute you can not have one in your override either.

  • Deployment configuration, review, Jabber - config.Xml

    Hi all

Doing my best to get better acquainted with Jabber and its configuration and to improve its functionality beyond the current "It works", but I have meet some roadblocks, including a few I will detail here.

The first thing I wanted to address was last updated the file config.xml - jabber with some specific parameters common to our business, trivial as failing for the landline phone rather than the phone software, to things more as actually specifying a server update here on the premise.  The first and perhaps the main question I have is trying to deploy this file (the one I created using jabber - config.html).  I can't yet confirm that I have configured correctly because I can't deploy in the way I want.

Currently, jabber - config.xml does not live locally on my PC.  There is a jabberlocalconfig.xml, but no jabber-config.  I found on the TFTP server, i.e. a config.xml file - jabber in the list of downloaded files, so I guess it's crazy.  Maybe not.  I would like to deploy the file I created in this very way, but until I can test it locally, I am not prepared to transfer to the masses (assuming again, it grows at all).  I tried to empty this file in the configuration file local under AppsData\Roaming...etc etc and even deleted all files jabberlocalconfig (she and her backup) before spinning towards the top of Jabber, but the moment that Jabber launches, the config.xml file - JAB is deleted and soon replaced by the file jabberlocalconfig (now ' white' (no previous stored parameters)).

My first thought is that jabberlocal is perhaps a reflection of the config.xml file - jabber being pushed down, and our implementation partner did nothing to customize.  Download my file to TFTP could probably solve the problem.  Before that, I would have preferred to go over all that happens with the existing jabber-config on TFTP file, but I can't seem to download, CLI tftp SERVER get jabber - config.xml, either through the http://SERVER:6790 / jabber-config.  Be able to see the existing file would allow me to compare it to what is recreated and perhaps to make sense of it.

The other idea is just that maybe jabberlocal is just ignorant jabber-config and for some reason, the local settings are common.  Similarly, maybe jabber-config is not yet pushed.  I restart the TFTP service on the pub and the sub as a Hail Mary of all kinds.

TL; DR: Is there a way I can download a copy of the file config.xml - jabber in show in the TFTP on CUCM files list so that I can see him again?  Is it supposed to be a local copy of a config xml file called jabber - config.xml, or the local copy of the configuration settings is called something else?  Is there a way I can deploy a jabber - updated config.xml to date the only Jabber user (me) for testing purposes before pushing it at all without that crushing the Jabber Client at startup?

    Bonus questions:

1.) something else I wanted to address this custom configuration jabber has been getting images of work on our fleet of iPad/iPhone.  Another thread suggested here that you may need allow photos contact EDI collection methods and BDI host Windows and non-windows.  Is it true, or is there a simple method to import photos that satisfied both environments?

2.) was the control of menu updates to Jabber 10.6.x?  I remember seeing it on 10.5.x (and having it fail because I do not think that it either has been implemented at the time), but I could not find in the menu to 10.6.2.  Maybe he'll show up if I can get this config file (which I hope correctly pointing to updated web site) or maybe the functionality has been decommissioned.

My apologies if this sounds elementary, I'm still learning the tricks of the trade with this kind of thing.

You can download the same as a file for setting up the phone

    http://docwiki.Cisco.com/wiki/Endpoints_FAQ#How_to_download_a_phone_.cnf...

And Jabber documentation also covers this:

To verify that the configuration file is available on your TFTP server, open the configuration file in any browser. As a general rule, you can access the global configuration file to the following ADDRESS: http://tftp_server_address:6970 / jabber - config.Xml

No, in 10.6 there no local copy, only in previous versions.

Yes, jabber documentation covers how to define the scope of support for Cisco, so you can use a specific configuration for certain endpoints, it applies only to the J4W and J4M. For Jabber clients which do not show the field of support, you can't anything in addition to the default config file

On photos and directory, Yes, config EDI applies only to the J4W, all other clients, require the BDI config to work. If you have a mix, you need two directory entries configured.

I'm running 10.6.1 and I do not see the verification of updates, very probably, you must enable and configure the feature appears, I have not tested in my lab.

  • ANALYZE the RAC configuration

Currently my 2 CARS a SCAN node configured with an IP address and/etc/hosts entry. I got two additional IPs and I want to use the DNS server instead of/etc/hosts /. For this I do following:

1 DNS entry rac-scan with 3 fps, two new and an existing one (currently used in entry/etc/hosts)
    1. STOP scan_listener (srvctl stop scan_listener) on a single node i.e node1
2 STOP the scan (stop scanning srvctl) on a single node that is node2
3 edit/etc/hosts on both nodes and comment out the line for scan IP
    4. change listening port scan (srvctl change cars - n scan-scan; followed srvctl change u; followed srvctl start scan_listener scan_listener.)

  • How do I update/configure direction/address IP

    Hello
This is the first time I try to get help from this forum. I hope that I will be answered as soon as possible, because it is really urgent for me!
I have been using the LAN wireless for quite awhile, but now, suddenly, it is not possible tomake the connection more, because the direction/IP (I don't know which is the correct name in English!) isn't well configured or not updated. (My laptop is purchased from Spain and I use it in Finland now; if it has to do something about the problem whit...)
So, at the beginning, when I arrived for the first time in Finland, the WIFI connection wasn't possible (neighter a normal cable). A guy has changed something on the IP address, and then it worked, no problem. But now, is once more the same. This time, I have the cable connection but no WIFI.
What should I do? Please help me! It is very important!
    :) Thank you!!!

Hi, looks like you're talking about IP lease renewal?
Usually this is done automatically by the operating system, but which may depend on if your wireless network card is configured for an IP fixed or control DHCP.
Open a new console window by start, run cmd.exe
    now, type: ipconfig/all
This will show you the status of your network.
now, type: ipconfig / renew all
This should renew the IP lease and hopefully fix your connection problems if you have any error message please let me know.
I would also recommend to re-scan the network with the Connection Wizard make sure that the name of the network (SSID) + WEP keys have not been altered and your Mac address is allowed to connect to the router.

  • Unable to configure the address IP 8184 PXI

    Hello

I can not configure the IP address of a PXI 1031 with a controller 8184. I followed all the steps in the manuals to help but after that assignment of an IP address, when I restart the controller the following message is displayed:

mounting: mounting/dev/hda1 on/home/ftp/c failed: invalid argument

    Enter safe mode

    The 0.0.0.0 IP address

The hard drive has two WinXP and LabView real-time installed, but the second switch of hardware on the 8184 is enabled, then the controller boots with LabView RT in Mode without failure (as indicated on page 2-13 of the PXI-8184 user manual)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Casey,.

Apparently, the issue is resolved. I formatted the hard drive of the PXI-8184 (with the FAT file format) and after reboot, I was able to 'paste' an IP address. Subsequently, I installed all the software of motion, that I need and in real time of NEITHER.

Yes, PXI was ordered with dual boot. It is amazing that NEITHER offer the dual boot with a file system that does not allow for dual boot! Moreover, as I could see, there is not a single line on the manual in the PXI-8184 allerting or help files to this problem! This should be corrected... I spent a week trying to fix this! If it wasn't for your help, I always don't seek an answer.

    Thank you once again,

    João

Hi Mike, the built-in client for MAC does not work with the RV220W. The reason is, the MAC IPSec client is the same as the Cisco VPN 5.x client.

The reason that this is important is that the 5.x client work that on certain small business products include the SRP500 and SA500 series.

I would recommend that you search by using a client VPN as Greenbow or IPSecuritas.

  • SGE2000P loses the manually configured ipv4 address after reboot

I am setting up a new switch SGE2000P as independent. As part of the Setup, I need to assign a new IPV4 address to the switch default instead a 192.168.1.254. After that I applied the changes everything works fine, but when the reboot of the switch get the ip address back to the default. Any contributions to this issue will be appreciated.

    Hello Evillalona,

I just looked at the issue you are seen and wanted to check with you on this subject.

When you change the settings in the switch then go to the file management section

the switch and make a copy of the running configuration to the startup configuration? I just wanted to

check and see if that would fix the problem you are experiencing. I've heard other people with

the same problem and that was the difficulty for them.

    Thank you

  • laser 2605 printer will not configure Ip address, auto configure

I felt for a few years and no problems until lately, I was running vista, now running windows 8.1. is the only thing that I changed, and was of course the printing software of update for the victory. 8.1. the USb connection works fine. part Internet, stop is an Ip address to print also.

The Hp color lazerjet 2605dn, when printing network Configaration page features enabled (all) got turned off, how I don't know.

in the TCp/IP section when to switch in auto, will configure not the IP address, subnet, or the front door.  So I try to set to manual and type the Ip address, subnet mask and gateway thur the printer, the printer was not still is a signal for an IP address for the computers come back on, so it does not work.  and when you turn off the printer, set up by manual switch IP address and lose all the settings...

    Solution...

seaching the Web and print the 380-page manual, I found that I need to download the firmware utility software. but one problem, Hp software is only has the vista in and not windows 8.1.  a bit of a problem, so I got a laptop from a friend who was running vista64. connected the printer to the computer laptop thur usb and downloaded the firmware. I then ran the software, it connected to the printer took about 5 minutes. and now the Network Setup page is correct and the feature are enabled.

  • Facing a problem while RAC configuration on my virtual machine

    Hi all

While configuration RAC 10 g on VMWare with Cent OS 4, I came across a few issues that have been resolved by rebooting (last resort)

The problem is after the installation of the database by checking the cluster resources using crs_stat - t, the State shows off line for 2 resources.
    [oracle@rac1 bin]$ ./crs_stat -t
    Name           Type           Target    State     Host
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    ora....SM1.asm application    ONLINE    OFFLINE   rac1

The + ASM1 instance and listening on the RAC1 began not when I checked. So I started the manually.
But when the instance is started, I got an error
WARNING: cache failed to read fn=3  indblk=0 from disk(s): 2
    ORA-15196: invalid ASM block header [kfc.c:7910] [endian_kfbh] [3] [2147483648] [0 != 1]

Firstly can someone tell me what "ora". SM1.asm' and «ora...» C1. LSNR"there? Why the TARGET column was also showing online?

I also tried to close resources, then by restarting the services rawdevice. But after that, while trying to start (resources from crsctl) the order was simply hanging on both instances.

I then didn't know what to do and just restarted both machines and then saw that everything was in place. I managed to create the database and everything works fine now.

I didn't know where else to find errors. Can someone help me understand the question please?

Now after setting up, I see the error in the newspaper of the ASM alerts for both nodes below.
    Errors in file /u01/app/oracle/admin/+ASM/bdump/+asm1_rbal_9071.trc:
    ORA-15183: ASMLIB initialization error [/opt/oracle/extapi/32/asm/orcl/1/libasm.so]
ORA-15183: ASMLIB initialization error [driver/agent not installed]
I checked the support of oracle DOC ID 1054033.1 and tried to check permissions. But I do not see the file asmadmin in $ORACLE_HOME/bin

    The support doc
    Solution

    1. Manually change the oracle binary ownership and permission:
    as root user:
    # cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
    # chgrp asmadmin oracle
    # chmod 6751 oracle
    # ls -l oracle
    Thank you
    Abhishek.

I'll find a virtual solution taken in charge for this and put in place on that :)

I'll close this thread for now

  • Why ADFPhaseListener not configured in faces - config.xml in JDeveloper 11 g?

I expect something like that in the faces-config. XML when you use links ADF as shown in the Guide of Oracle Application Development Framework Developer 10 g Release 3:

When an ADF Faces component bound to an ADF data control is inserted into a JSF page for the first time, JDeveloper adds the PhaseListener ADF in faces - config.Xml.

    * < faces-config xmlns = "http://java.sun.com/JSF/Configuration" > *.
    *...*
    * < cycle of life >
    * <>phase listener *.
    oracle.adf.controller.faces.lifecycle.ADFPhaseListener
    * < / phase listener > *.
    * < / life cycle > *.
    *...*
    * < / faces-config > *.

But I don't see that this has generated in faces - config.xml, even in the demo storefront.
How really the ADF PageLifeCycle is in the image in the ADF?

See the "Note" in the section "customization of the ADF Page Lifecycle of 19.4" in ADF 11 g Fusion developer's Guide.
