    Hi Ledwy

Thank you for visiting the forums!

The good news is that you can upgrade your system up to 16 GB of total RAM. Problem is that your memory Bay has only 2 slots for her. Therefore, put two Rams of 8GB of identical configurations for making it 16GB.

    This is your product.

Here is the user guide - Cross Page 5 Chapter 1 product description, you can find:

Two customer accessible/upgradable memory module slots

    Supported dual channel DDR3 - 1600 MHz

Supports up to 16384 MB of system RAM

Supports the following memory system configurations:

    ● 16384 MB (8192 MB × 2; not supported on models of computer with the 32-bit operating system)
    ● 12288 MB (8192 MB × 1 + 4096 MB × 1; not supported on the computer models equipped 32-bit operating system)
    ● 8192 MB (8192 MB × 1 or 4096 MB × 2; not supported on models of computer with the 32-bit operating system)
    ● 6144 MB (4096 MB × 1 + 2048 MB × 1; not supported on the computer models equipped 32-bit operating system)
    ● 4096 MB (4096 MB × 1 or 2048 MB × 2)
    ● 2048 MB (2048 MB × 1)

Thus, you must be satisfied with the current configuration of 2 * 4 = 8 GB (GOLD)

buy two 8 GB of RAM (DDR3 1600 MHz SODIMM SDRAM) identical configurations and replace both the 4GBs of the slot.

Hope this solves your problem, post if you have any doubt.

  • SL510 what ram to upgrade should I choose?

Hello everyone, I hope I found the right place where I could get help.

My SL510 is a model of 2847 and it is running Windows 7 Professional x 64.

I hope this info is useful because I don't know how to check which processor and Chipset are exactly installed on my laptop (maybe you could suggest me some freeware I can download to check?)

He is running with a single module 2 GB pc10600 DIMM, but if it run slow when I run several applications and then I would upgrade my RAM.

    These are the questions:

-What is the maximum RAM I can install on my SL510 (4, 8 or 16 GB)?

-What is the fastest level ram I can install (pc10600 is fair or is there more quick?)?

-for example, if the authorized maximum memory is 8 GB, is it better to install a single module of 8 GB DIMMs or a 2 x 4 GB dimm module?

    Hi Maripierotti,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

We have understood that your query is about to experience the maximum RAM supported for ThinkPad SL510.

According to the Lenovo system supports up to 8 GB of RAM maximum. And regarding the bus speed is DDR3 1067 mhz, it's better if you use 4 GB X 2.

    I hope this helps!

I installed this new RAM carefully and booted up my laptop, only to be greeted by a blank screen / black.  I have re-installed the new RAM and rebooted my laptop, leading to the same result.

I contacted CCL Computers Ltd, who recommended that I return the RAM to them for testing. However, they also mentioned that I should contact the constructor (HP) and ask them - your "QVL" (list of qualified suppliers) for successfully piloted ~ known RAM.

  • HP Elitebook 8560w: upgrade my ram and the correct use of slots

    Hello - my first post!

I just bought HP 8560w refurbished seller.  It has a quad core processor and four ram slots.  I can post the SN and product number if it helps with my request.

I want to max out my ram without disturbing the keyboard.  I currently have 4 x 4 ram installed so that four locations are used.  My machine will support a maximum of 32 of ram.

Here is the query - I can remove the 2 ram sticks of the slots I can easily see when I remove the back (I guess these are slots 3 & 4) and replace them with 2 sticks 8 ram each?

    It would give me a total of 24 ram - 2 x 4 under the keyboard (slots 1 & 2) and 2 x 8 in two other passers-by.

This upgrade would be OK and be recognized by the system?

    Thank you, Russ.

    Hi, Russ:

It seems that you can according to the maintenance manual.

    http://h20628.www2.HP.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c03424153-1.PDF

He says that one of the compartment of the expansion memory slot should be filled with a chip to add a slot 2.

It also says the same thing about the locations of primary memory under the KB.

  • error: do not copy WIMGAPI.dll and NAPP7x64.exe of ram

I'm trying to factory reset my laptop that is running Windows 7.

I get these errors of two 2 ("' error: fail to copy the WIMGAPI.dll file to ram" and "error: fail to copy NAPP7x64.exe of ram" "), the one right after the other.

What can at the factory to reset the laptop without the CD with Windows 7?

    Hello

    I understand that you are trying to reset the PC to the factory settings (without CD) and you receive these errors. I'll be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you;

    • What is the brand and model of the PC?
    • Are you facing problems with the PC you want to reset to factory settings?
    • Which operating system was installed when you bought the PC?

The error you receive may be due to a corrupt disk sector or your recovery partition is corrupted.

Your computer is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands:

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery disks.

After the reset, you should count with all updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

Note: Back up your data prior to factory reset.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

Kingston also compatible watch this model: KTD - L3C / 8G which works at 1.5V
Crucial shows compatible like this: CT4522510, but it works at 1.35v

In my system, I have 4 GB Hynix HMT351S6EFR8C, 1.5V.

You have of DDR3 RAM which means Double Data Rate.  The 666,5 MHz you have listed in CPU - Z is the clock frequency and DDR3 RAM works on both edges of the clock, where DDR3 (Double Data Rate).  As a result, you get 666 multiplied by 2 (DDR) MHz or 1333 MHZ.

Your system is normal and the RAM runs at max speed.

    Hi Adnan7867 ,

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have the number of the Machine of the sticker or get the MTM from the parts search page (keep confidential serial number) of the details of the machine?

According to me, is is no upgrade of the question of the capacity of the hard disk.

The upgrade of the processor would need information from the MTM, but you can also see this post as colleagues have managed their upgrade.

    RAM : 8 GB max7 / PC3 - 12800 1600 MHz DDR3 *, no parity, dual-channel capable, two SO DIMM 204-PIN * system clocks automatically down to the processors with DDR3 1333 MHz memory controller

check the RAM part number recommended in the FRU list in the hardware manual.

Take the time to review the manual material as it describes the steps that you can use to upgrade but if you don't have the tools and skills, it would be better that you have any local service center to do it for you because they may also be able to suggest solutions for the upgrade and you get real-time costs.

Hope this answer helps your query.
