Random signal noise appears on Satellite C650

My C650 has an occasional beep.
It can't happen days or even weeks, and then it starts to beep.
It of a single beep do not last more than a second. It occurs intermittently.

The sound signal can be every 10 minutes or not 20 minutes.
Overheating doesn't seem to be a problem, no program either.
When it is in "beep mode" unless it is in use or not! It's just very annoying.

All solutions?

Hello

This beep does appear in Windows, or when it happens?

Normally, such a beep code would mean a hardware malfunction is detected, but this happens before Windows starts so that s really strange, I would recommend load default settings and also try a BIOS update.

  • Satellite C650 / 01 M noisy fan

    Hi all

This is my first post and first experience with Toshiba laptops: D.
So here's the thing, I bought Satellite C650/01 M a few days ago and I noticed that the fan is a bit noisy, it's like a "Bee noise" or "House sound fly" lol, but the temperature of the computer is fine.

So I'm wondering if this is normal or I have to return it? Any experience with this particular model?
BTW, here is the link of the laptop:

    Thank you!

    Hey,.

I Don t Satellite C650, but normally it should be possible to change the method of cooling Windows Power Management. You can change between optimized battery and a maximum Performance.

I put the battery optimized option and this reduced the activity of the fan and the cell phone was much quieter. :)

  • Satellite C650-15IL - international guarantee two or one year?

    Hello

I bought laptop Satellite C650-15IL in Israel.
The dealer promissed 2 years warranty and 2 years international warranty appears in the description of the product:
    http://IL.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/en/series/satellite-C650-series/1084942/

However, when I registered my laptop on this site, I received an email indicating that I have "Standard warranty Toshiba" that usually indicates a year only in Europe and Middle East.

I'm going to study in Boston, in the United States in the coming years and international warranty means a lot to me and it is one of the main reasons I chose toshiba.

Anyone can wipe it out, how long is the warranty and is truly 'International' or is it only good for Europe?

    Thanx

    Hello

Toshiba Standard warranty the laptop just for one year.
But AFAIK you can extend it for a further year if you register the notebook on page Europe from Toshiba.

I put t know exactly in the terms of warranty in your country, but in Germany for example, each product is covered by warranty dealer for two years.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite C650-17Z - only PXE error message no boot device

Hi people I was wondering if anyone of you kind people out there could help me. I have a Satellite C650-17Z model and when turn on is the message I get:

    + Intel UNDI, PXE - 2.0 (builkd 083) +.
    + Copyright (C) 1977-2000: Intel Corporation.

+ For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.1.9(12/15/09) +.

+ Check the cable connection! +
+ PXE - MOF: exit Intel PXE ROM. +.
+ No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.

Can anyone any sense of the message above?

    Hey Buddy,

This error message means that an incorrect boot order is set and the computer tries to start between LAN port to the internal HARD disk space. It should therefore go into BIOS setup and change the boot order. Put the HARD drive as the first boot device internal.

Take a look at this article from Toshiba:

  • Satellite C650 to TV connection

    Hello

I have laptop Satellite C650 and I'm trying to connect my laptop to my TV, I am using a VGA-HDMI cable but have had no success. I went through the * control panel / appearance and personalization / connect to a screen external display * options, but I can't seem to find the TV anywhere.

I have only one option of * mobile PC display * and cant seem to change since the * generic PnP monitor * choice.
I can get to the graphical control panel intel tells me that this monitor and tv settings are not taken care of, this means that it is not possible to connect to a TV with this particular laptop or I can download a driver that would perhaps allow me to do?

In General, each laptop with video output port can be connected to the TV. All you need to do is to use a video cable, and remember, it can be connected to your TV.
If your laptop doesn't have HDMI but VGA port and your TV has PC (RGB/VGA) port that the use of this cable. Using your VGA to HDMI, I assume that your computer laptop doesn't recognize TV at all. It is sometimes problematic with these cables.

Has your TV as PC port?

  • Satellite C650-1CR - no webcam showing in Device Manager

    Hello

I apologize if this question has already been posted. I have a Satellite C650-1CR; PSC08E-029001EN part number; Serial number 7A370192Q. Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

The webcam, which has worked before, does not now in any program. In MSN it says I have no webcam; in Toshiba Face Recognition, he says camera failed to initialize. I have nothing to this fact - it has just stopped working. If I click on the Toshiba web camera application in the utilities section, nothing happens. The camera does not appear in Device Manager - there is no device images shown.

I read through the advice here and you have downloaded the driver here, but that does not open. He goes as far as the extraction of the file, but then it will not run or open. I have the latest BIOS (update from Toshiba a couple of days). If I can avoid it, I don't really want to use the recovery disk I have many other things on my laptop that I don't want to lose.

Any advice or help would be really appreciated. My son just moved to Australia, and it would be great for me to be able to use the webcam. I hope I gave enough information on the laptop and the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.
    Linda

    Hey Buddy,

So if there is no webcam listed in Device Manager, you must check the installed programs in Control Panel > uninstall a program. Usually the webcam software should be in there and if yes remove it. Then, restart your computer.

To remove all also run a registry cleaner like CCleaner which can remove old registry keys. It s freeware tool is therefore no problem to find using Google. After that you have to reboot your laptop again and then install the latest webcam software from the official page of Toshiba.

Even after restart and you should be able to use the webcam again. Can you confirm this?

  • Satellite C650 15Z two USB ports have stopped working / load

Hi can someone throw their professional opinion on a current problem I am experiencing with my

    Satellite C650 15Z
    Windows 7

There are 2 USB ports which are now both inoperative - there seems to be no power from them (ipad/phones do not charge) and any flash drive I insert does not appear as a drive in my computer
and I don't hear audible alerts or message pop ups after insertion. Like I don't know what I look in Device Manager, I thought that someone may be able to help here?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

In Device Manager, you can try to delete and remove the USB host controller and USB hubs.
All these devices are responsible for the functionality of USB ports.
After you remove the USB host controller and USB hubs, restart the laptop.
Usually the Windows operating system should recognize the devices automatically deleted after that, you can check if the USB feature is back.

  • Satellite C650 cannot start Windows

Hi and thanks for reading this post.

I had a Satellite C650 laptop with Windows 7 and inside the h2o bios, works fine for about a year now. The problem, as this post came yesterday when I was using the laptop as usual. At one point, it seemed that the computer worked very hard (fan noise, could not click on anything) and it lasted about a minute or two until what I tried Ctrl + Alt + Delete, who don't do anything. 5 minutes later an error window pops up saying that CTRL + Atl + Del could not be run at this time. I could not click on anything whatsoever and a s Malwarebyte (anti-malware software) had opened, although I couldn't read what he says since I couldn't click on anything. I held the power until the computer closed and proceeded to restart.

A window asking me if I wanted to start windows normally, I said yes, but after the Toshiba usual loading screen, nothing happened (blue screen dark without the usual windows start icon) I left it running for 15 minutes, but still nothing. He retried a couple of times off the computer with the power button (this time is not to ask me if I wanted to run windows normally) and still the same thing.

For some strange reason, I can not start mode safe mode using f8 because f8 simply do nothing. Tried the f2 boot configuration, but nothing seems to be no relief at the moment.

Thanks a lot if you can provide some tips on how to solve this problem.

    -Vincent

    Hello

Pressing F2 should allow you to access the BIOS.
The F2 key must be pressed immediately after that the laptop has been powered.
It work? You can access the BIOS?

If this is not possible, you can pass the hypothesis that this could be a hardware problem.
In the worst cases that the motherboard may be affected or device connected to the motherboard as RAM.

Solution? Good RAM could be verified using new modules, but if you have no spare parts available for this test, then I recommend to ask a technician for verification of material.

Your warranty is valid? If so, don t waste time and get in touch with the service people.

  • Re: Satellite C650 does nothing at the beginning upward

So today, my computer froze, could not do anything as usual I restarted by the power button.
I went to turn back on and the normal startup. Noise has a weird clicking on in the lower right.
Then she went on this black screen and says could not startup disk load press any key during loading.
So I restarted a couple of times and now it's not even do it. It shows just a black screen with a small white line, ad that's all nothing else. Always with the sounds of rattling.

Could someone help me? Thank you
    And my laptop is:
    Toshiba Satellite C650
I could really use the help, thank you.

I can't say for sure, but I think the HARD drive's troublemaker.
Enter in the BIOS, set the default value and try to start computer laptop new just to see what will happen.
If you have the recovery disk on it start to check if the disc will have access to the HARD drive.

In the worst case HDD must be exchanged. In General, it is not problematic but I m afraid you will lose all your important data.

  • Satellite C650 - S5049 Wireless adapt BSOD

I have been using a Satellite C650-S5049 for years 1 and a half. Until recently, the Atheros wireless card stops working and caused much chaos for my laptop.

    a. every time I try to activate the wireless driver from the Device Manager, I was greeted with BSOD. Even if it does not, it would be suddenly begins to lag very badly. The LAG goes away when I disable the wireless driver.

    b. sometimes, when I try to turn on the wireless via flash card (F8), there is no F8 flash card and the Device Manager does not detect the wireless card.

I tried reinstalling the driver, but to no avail. I even improved by the BIOS and did a system complete scan for viruses and malware, but there is none.

Is this a problem with my driver, hardware or other issues?

Any kind soul could you please help?

    Hello

In my opinion, the problem could be a faulty WLan card.
This would explain why the BSOD appears favourable WLan.

The FN + F8 key combination would work only if the wireless network adapter is installed and recognized properly
If Device Manager cannot detect the correct wireless network card, the Fn + F8 would not work.

By the way: have you tried to test the System.* preinstalled Toshiba laptop?
Would be interesting to know how it works pick up the laptop and test the WiFi network once more.

  • Satellite C650 - hard drive failure

Satellite C650 now back up and running after the recovery disk used a message and therefore failure hard disk accident before Christmas.

Now, I get the message to disk failure hard re appearing!
Suggestions on a replacement for this model running windows disk 7 please.

  • Satellite C650 - Touchpad problem

Toshiba Satellite C650 - 13G PSC08E I found that the touchpad, wasn't work and left click did not work, tried all the fixes on the forum.

    Check the BIOS and update
    Function key, fine activated

That all controlled parameters appear in order, so I assumed a defective left click button.
I bought the new palmrest with touchpad and after exactly the same problem.

I can get it to work as a left-handed mouse, right button works as the left should, all other functions are fine except not left click.

Surely, I couldn't be pretty unlucky to have bought a palmrest with broken so left click button (it's new)

    Any help would be appreciated

What I will say maybe you were simply no chance and you had installed another faulty touchpad module, but to be honest, it will be very strange

In my case, the control panel? mouse? last tab (Setup button) contain additional options to control the touchpad features.

My laptop uses the touchpad Alps and the Alps touchpad utility is installed.
This tool provides additional parameters for touchpad left and right, click.
I did not change these options, but of course it of possible to disable the left and right click in this area.
