Re: Configuration of the good BIOS A30-714

Hello

I download the BIOS update form my netbook (Satellite A30-714), but it's an exe of win. I try to update the BIOS without BONES. How can I do this?

Any sugestion?

Thanks for your help.

Hello

The BIOS available on the page of the European pilot Toshibas is a Win-based BIOS.
Therefore, run the Windows system BIOS update.

But you can also download the BIOS of the page of the American pilot.
[Satellite A35-S1592 | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=512378&r pn = PSA30U & modelFilter = A35-S1592 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = 1073768663]

You will find the victory and back based BIOS.
Toshiba Satellite A35 - S1592 (PSA30U) is the same series as Satellite A30 - 714 (PSA30E).

PSA30U is of American and European series PSA30E series.

  • Need to identify the model A100 to select the good BIOS update

Good morning to all and thanks in advance for any whole made :-> assitance

    My question is this:
How to identify the exact model of a Satellite A100 PSAAxx series laptop?

    Reason:
I need to update the BIOS and I'm uninclined to simply apply the updates, I could get for fear of turning it into a brick.

    What I know:
There is some time, my wife and I bought a used Satellite A100 - in good working condition, but warned that he has 'problems' with USB ports driver. The time has come to address the issue of the USB, and the upgrade of the BIOS seems to be a good starting point.

At the time of purchase, the label with the model number and the number of harem on the bottom of the system was quite readable - unfortunately, this label has subsequently lost all 'tailor-made' (we know what the fields are called by all useful information has disappeared).

It is a Toshiba Satellite A100 (I have discs recovery and thus marked user manual).
The user manual specifies the model number PSAAxx.
    CPU: Celeron M 1.4 GHz
    RAM: 704 MB
    HD: 40 GBbyte
Graphics card: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 M Series
    BIOS: v1.20 2008-12-12

    Any suggestions gratefully received

    Hello!

To identify what A100 you exactly, you can use Toshiba PC Diagnostic. If you have installed the laptop with the recovery disk, this tool is installed too.

If you n t have PC diagnosis, you can also download:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

In the diagnostic tool you can see on the part number (basic information of category).

  • Different the InsydeH20 BIOS.

SIRS, I have a HP-15g080nr, I install a 120 GB SSD, but couldn't find any SATA Configuration in the InsydeH20 BIOS (on the way IDE to AHCI). Now, I find that to install a new Hard Drive (SSD), it comes to dismantalling the half of the machine. One of my questions is in fact how is it to do? Or should I just delete my current hard drive (which I need for education) and install a new copy of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit OEM. And I think the boot priority is just an internal CD/DVD peripheral rearanging matter in UEFI and Legacy Boot arrested in InsydeH20 BIOS utility. Thank you gentlemen, any info or advice would be great.

Gentlemen: I met a small problem installing Win7 OEM disc. I want to install on this disk screen "" and all I get is a "unallocated disk" and a Message that say, it cannot install on this hard drive. I tried "Load driver" the problem is that I can't seem to understand what Chipset driver (64-bit) to install (i.e.  WR74, WR64). Could you give me a number of what Chipset driver to use. I tried a few, but all I get is a caution symbol read: window will not be installed on this drive. Thank you for the help with this question...

  • Configuration of the BIOS XW8600 for SSD and HDD

Until recently, my xw8600 has been configured with the emulation of SATA under storage on the separate IDE controller Options.  250 GB hard drives connected to the SATA 1 and SATA ports 0 and readers of DVD RW Drive connected to 2 SATA and SATA 3 ports.

I wanted to install a GTX240 Neutron Corsair SSD, but discovered when I changed the SATA RAID + DCIS emulation (to activate all 5 ports of SATA controller and optimize the performance of the SSD), the system could not find the boot drive.  I checked the startup command settings and found the slot drive HARD listed title module of memory into the attached USB printer HP Officejet 7500 a first and could not be changed.

I decided to go back to SATA IDE emulation separate, remove the optical drive on SATA 2 port and attach the SSD it.  This facility is expected to start successfully; but after installing windows 7 x 64 on the SSD (Windows XP, x 64, still on the HARD drive), I found Windows 7 has been very very slow.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or comments on how I can improve this situation?

Thanks for any help, you can suggest.

What is an installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit of a retail installation DVD purchase, or something HP?  If I remember well Vista 64 was the latest HP OS with sold.  In this case you won't have to deal with a set of HP restore disks.  I would never do an "upgrade" of a prior installation of OS in W7.  I only do not clean install W7 on a freshly long-type reformatted hard drive or an SSD.  I buy my "system builder" OEM license W7Pro 64 - bit DVD/COA from newegg.com (you can find that many sources and approximately 140.00 each).

Plan to do a clean install on this SSD from scratch and when you format before that settle does long formatting version, while it is booted from the W7 DVD.  That will take some time.  Or, if you have a functioning before the OS install on a hard drive, you can restore the xw8600 you can connect the SSD in the second or third SATA port and reformat (long version) management of records like this.

The boot drive or SSD, Spinner, must always be connected to the primary SATA port, which in these workstations, is usually blue plastic, while the rest are a dark black.

Make sure that your BIOS is later... There was a version for this and the xw6600 with a few months ago.  It is an important.

Put the SSD in your favorite mount, hang it in the main SATA port, prepare the W7 DVD in the DVD drive (which should be attached to the second port SATA or IDE cable if it's a DVD ATA drive). Throwing xw8600, go straight into the BIOS and go to which you can change the SATA emulation.  Change that on "RAID + AHCI.  Save on the way out of the BIOS, and the workstation will now reboot usually requiring formal approval of the change F1.

Demarrer start on the DVD, select clean install and things will be fine.  I usually set my boot order to start hard drive/SSD first and second optical drive.  Then, when I load an OS I just use the F9 key during the early start to switch to the DVD player for this single event.

It's the key information: If you have correctly set to "RAID + AHCI" SATA emulation for the W7 installation process, then the appropriate drivers will not be loaded from the DVD on the startup disk, and you won't receive anywhere near your expected speed.  I helped a friend who had done exactly what you did, and when we corrected things literally double SSD performance scores.  I recommend that the reformatting/clean reinstall from zero here, because you want to really perfect the basics and the way he was treated initially can leave you with a few important questions.

After you have things working with the SSD and the DVD player you can add in your other material sequentially.  I would like to make a reboot between each addition, just be very careful.  Some old HP DVD drives have a problem with W764 loading during the emulation of the SATA BIOS is set correctly and there is a solution for this, but you don't want from now this info.

All the advice I have written in this forum about the xw6400 installs apply to the xw6600 and xw8600, including information on the upgrades of the processor.

  • ProDesk 600 G1 BIOS configuration of the TPM secure through the BIOS Configuration utility

We have a range of devices, computers HP desktop and laptops in our environment.  Devices are all running Windows 7 64 bit and should have Bitlocker enabled, but we found that some were not encrypted.  So I am trying to set up a remote BIOS and Bitlocker config activate software that we can get out via SCCM and then embed in a task sequence image for new machines.

I use the Bios HP Configuration utility to check a BIOS password is set and then activate the TPM chip.  I took a BIOS config output of each of our models and created a settings file that has all of the TPM associated parameters of all models.

At the moment I run Setup BIOS utility manually for testing.  On all models I tried that works very well, except for the 600 ProDesk G1 SFF.

When I run the utility on the ProDesk 600 G1 MFS, it says that I have managed to update the settings, and when I check the BIOS, the TPM secure has been unhidden and the TPM Management was given to the operating system (two settings I change), but the TPM itself remains hidden.

It's the release of the BIOS configuration utility (it uses the 2.60.13.1 version, which uses plaintext passwords.  I also tried with the 3.0.13.1 later version that uses password files - same result)

    C:\ > BiosConfigUtility64.exe /cspwd: "password" set: "TPM_Config.REPSET"
    < BIOSCONFIG Version = "2.60.13.1" Computername = 'HP600G1' Date = "24/07/2014" Time = "13:01:37 ' UTC '1' = >"

    C:\ >

And after a reboot (where it should activate the TPM), BIOS shows as disabled built-in safety device (see attachment for the image).

I have tried everything I can think of to get this to activate, including:

    • Different versions of the BIOS configuration utility

    • Remove the password from the BIOS and the application in the same order as the parameters

    • Different passwords

    • Reboot and allowing the machine to start completely to Windows before checking if the setting took effect

I also tried to add the utility and the commands for an SCCM package and it works directly and as part of a sequence of tasks to see if that makes a difference, but nothing I've done has activated the TPM module.

I know that the TPM module works, as you can turn it on manually and then Bitlocker can be applied to the machine, but with thousands of devices in our environment, I need to get this job without the need for manual intervention.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Or has someone at - he managed to activate the TPM on the SFF of 600 ProDesk G1 using the BIOS Setup utility?  Any ideas / suggestions would be very appreciated!

P.S. This thread was moved from the company PC - Compaq, Elite, Pro for HP PC Client management. -Hp moderator of the Forum

This problem has now been resolved by HP.

They provided a replacement motherboard for the test machine I was using that solved this problem. I don't know what kind of motherboard failure could prevent the activation via the script TMP chip but not prevent activation through the BIOS menu, but as a replacement solved the problem, then it must be a hardware failure.

  • ADSL Wireless with my A30 714

I have a Satellite A30 714 and have recently installed ADSL. How to use the Setup wireless on the laptop without having to plug into the ADSL?

    Hello

If you want to connect your laptop to the internet using the Wi - Fi connection you need a wireless card on your device and a wireless router. I don't know, but as much as I know about satellite A30 there is no wireless card. The best solution is to use a PCMCIA wireless card. It's not expensive and it is very easy to configure.

As far as I know, you will find a list in the manual use of compatible media and supported that are tested and it functioning properly on this player.
I use a media TDKs and I m very happy. Pease check other manufacturers of CD and DVD.

  • Aspire One D257-13478 does not start after the system BIOS flash.

    I gave my child a D257 - 13478 new ASPIREONE.

It came with Windows7 starter - was very slow, crippled and crashed a lot.

After a while, I have re-formatted the HARD drive to remove Windows-resources-pork-7, and I installed Windows XP Professional (SP3).

After which, the netbook has been much faster, and I could navigate with 5 windows open browser (FireFox) and NEVER receive (not RESPONDING), as I was always getting with Windoze 7. He's been good for 5 months.

Anyway, it worked fine except that I could not find driver XP for [CODE 10] Broadcom wireless card,.

so we were not using WiFi.

Today I read the suggestion to update my BIOS to correct [CODE 10 number}. I went to acer link and downloaded the BIOS of the Organizer, RAN the EXE and the netbook went to restart.

When the ACER logo appears, a blue screen flashed QUICK, and the netbook RESTARTS again.

Asking me to start Windows normally just repeat what's happening above

When I choose Safe Mode... drivers will charge up to Mup.sys and then the system just REBOOTS.

When I try the last good Configuration known, same thing.

Enter the system (F2) shows, Version of the system Bios configuration utility: v1.15

It used to be all about v1.10.

    .................................................

Then. What is my next step?

Will be my HD reformatting and reinstall WIndowsXP DIFFICULTY this problem?

    or

How can I RESET my Bios to v1.10 (when everything was fine).

No software to use on a USB key to solve this problem? (because theres no CD don't drive of course)

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi MOne

The flash will have changed the BIOS settings, so go in the BIOS settings and verify that the setting of the HARD drive is in AHCI mode. If it still does not start XP, then it is worth trying to format & reinstall Windows from scratch.

  • Dual Boot with windows XP Pro with 2 HARD drive, error on secondary windows install: "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem. Could not read the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware... »

Hi, I recently bought a new Hitachi 1 TB internal hard drive. I wanted to do a clean install on the new drive (d), be able to dual boot my computer and leave my old 300 GB disk (C :) as the primary windows installation. After physically installing the new HARD drive, I noticed that "new hardware found" and the the brand name flashed in the bottom right corner. I thought I'd see the new hard drive in my computer, but I did not. I initialized the new HARD drive with the computer management window (right click on my computer - manage) and I also formatted in NTFS (I had to change my printer hard drive letter to assign the new HARD drive with the letter D, but I've made other changes after this step). Now, I could see and use in my main windows on the C: installation. I then installed a windows new copy XP pro with the installation CD I got for my C: but on the D: (Note: I have a Dell computer (and the Dell reinstallation CD) and my current version of windows has SP3 while the installation CD is only SP2) (I also reformatted my HARD drive during the installation of windows to NTFS)

Now when I try to start on installing the new on my D: I get "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem. Could not read the selected boot disk. Check startup disk and hardware access path. "and another line saying to refer to manuals HARD drive and windows.

My Boot.ini file at this time was:

    [boot loader]
    Timeout = 5
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect
    "signature (ac516a5c) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional own "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect

I looked towards the top of this help page, but for now I'm unlucky:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314477

(The next steps I took by throwing from the Windows CD and go into the repair console)

I tried to use the bootcfg /rebuild but the line to boot.ini for my secondary HARD drive still does not work.

    He gave me something like:

    [boot loader]
    Timeout = 5
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect
    "signature (ac516a5c) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional own "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect

I also tried to change the signature() to multi (0), but it did not work. (or try almost all possible permutations of disk() and rdisk() partition() 0 to 2).

I also tried to use expand F(dvd-drive):\i386\ntkrnlmp(I_have_a_duo-core).ex_ D:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe and a few other combinations, but I when I login as D:\windows simply, it fails to extend with a message like "could not develop" or C:\windows I get "restricted access".

I have not yet tried CHKDSK/r, but since I did a clean install on a newly formatted drive... I don't think it would work.

I've also marked the partition on the D: as active (in computer management), but it did not help me.

I've done a first installation of windows repair, strangely, I couldn't fix this one... Still does not work...

My default windows installation yet works very well & I see that windows has been installed on the D: but I'm ideas from how to operate the dual-boot, can someone throw me a BONE on what to do?

Maybe try to do something with the Boot Manager (whatever it is?) Create a new partition and use it as a boot manager? I don't really want to do this, because if I made a mistake I will be unable to use my computer and dual boot should work without going through all this trouble... But I found this page: http://technet.microsoft.com/fr-fr/library/ee829686%28WS.10%29.aspx

Could a clean install two HDD help? I hope I won't have to do...

    Someone has an idea?

PS: I'm not such an advanced user so I need a solution step by step, thanks!

Edit: I also noted that I can't see my new HARD drive in my BIOS... weird... SATA-0 is my old drive HARD 1 and 2 are my dvd 3-5 readers are 'off' and it doesn't seem to be anything that it is plugged in. I also have 4 bays for internal HARD disks. Now, 2 are busy.

Edit2: I looked inside my case and enabled the good Sata in the Bios after a reboot it detected the drive correctly. Dual boot doesn't always work well... The fact that it was disable in the BIOS while I was installing the new HARD drive could change anything? Hmm...

In case I wasn't clear enough: I had a windows XP Pro installed on my C:, bought a new hard drive and installed the same copy of windows on it (d). I think that should allow me to double boot between the two installs different. Even if for some reason I can't boot from one on my D:. Andrew, I do not understand why you so far physically disconnect the other drive, the point of the whole operation is to build a boot.ini file so that the BIOS knows that it y facilities 2 windows and you allow to choose (and not have conflicting problems between the 2 systems), someone correct me if I'm wrong? "Expand" the part of my first post made reference to one of the solutions provided by Microsoft in the first link that I have included in my previous post (but I can't seem to work).

In addition, it is the procedure that I followed: http://www.ehow.com/how_5950826_boot-two-different-hard-drives.html

(except I've had the first installation already done).

Andrew "also, once a new hd is plugged on the pc & running, most of the BIOS will place (them) as 1st priority hd, set the BIOS to do this", you mean that by installing separately from windows on each unit when the other is not plugged in, I could choose what disk to start from defining their priority in the BIOS once they are all plugged back? It's too tedious (as I intend to move frequently between the 2 installs) and requires a computer to other users of the lack of computer knowledge. Unfortunately, it is not a viable option.

EDIT: I DID IT! Hmmm... Well, I double checked in the recovery console, the path of the new HARD drive with the arc command Scan. Tried to start again with the MULTI (0) in my boot.ini and it worked... I also had my windows install CD in. Maybe that is why I could not start, windows needs the CD to complete the installation? Weird, I don't know what I did to the difficulty it... but hey, it works! Thanks for your ideas guys!

IT would be difficult to debug, better you trigger SR in support to verify the code. Good thing is you know again sleep exists, so why worry.

    You can ignore it.

  • HP Pavilion s5570t desktop computer: single SATA hard drive configured as RAID in BIOS

Our small computer lab has two offices of Pavilion Slimline s5570t that we have recently upgraded to Windows 10. I noticed that in the configuration of the BIOS for the SATA hard drive, it is defined as RAID. I don't know why. The thing that brought this to my attention, is that the software Intel Rapid storage technology constantly shows about 25% CPU use and there high usage of the disk when computers start first which makes them unusable until the software installs.

My question is can I change the setting of the BIOS SATA AHCI with no problems and that will solve the problem? The Intel rapid storage technology software version is v9.5.7.1002. It is obviously old and I could update, but I wonder if the real issue is the BIOS setting.

    Thank you

    JohnD

Thank you for the additional information.

I'm not sure it tells you, but I changed these settings without having to reinstall the operating system.  I suppose it could be correct.

  • Portege R400 - where to find the old BIOS?

    Hi all

I inherited a R400 Prototype of one of our guys to laboratory here at the office and made the mistake of flashing the BIOS to 1.5 of Windows.
Now, I get a black screen and a power indicator light flashes.
The old BIOS was 0.6 and I can't seem to find one or even a version prior to 1.5 on the web.

Anyone happen to have a pointer to the older versions? Maybe on an FTP server, so I can try to flash?

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hello

Official website of Toshiba, you can download the latest version of the BIOS. In addition it of not possible to downgrade the BIOS.

In any case, to downgrade the BIOS, you must contact an ASP. They can downgrade the BIOS with an earlier version if you wish.
On the Toshiba site, you can search with ASP:

    Good bye

  • Satellite L40-A993 - what is the Toshiba BIOS password?

Yesterday, I left my laptop in mode 'sleep' after work. When I started today morning, he prayed for the password. I never set a password for BIOS and never changed no settings. Currently, its not booting.

Just after ignition, screen opens with "Enter password".
I tried to check online, but I got no idea. Can anyone suggest how to fix it?

    Hello Abreu

AFAIK the system settings like BIOS password cannot be addressed only and configuration of the password must be entered twice (password confirmation).
    Has anyone access your machine?

I'm afraid that someone put the password on your computer without your knowledge.
