  • X 60 with the Bios V1.52 V2.18 and Power Manager

    Hello out there

I got a X 60 original "2510' with 2Gig Ram and 80gig HDD.  Since I've upgraded to the Bios V2.18 the start in the menu right spot icon lower does not exactly reflect the remaining autonomy statute.

I suspect it has something to do with the BIOS update.  It was working fine before V2.18.

Can someone please shed some light on this.

Hello George, welcome to Lenovo forums!

Have you updated your powermanager recently?

Try to uninstall the Version 1.52, I think that your operating system is XP?

  • Workstation HP Z240 tour: update Firmware for Z240

    Workstation HP Z240 Tower

To update the Firmware, I provided this link by the customer support:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=8323794&swItemId=wk_158289_1&swEnvOid=419...

Using the link, I was able to download and run sp74202.exe.

A set of instructions then appear as follows:

Another utility of FWUpdLcl.exe in the directory of Mee Flash\Local-Win is designed to update the ME firmware in an environment 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, the "Run" box or a command prompt. Her can be updated by running the following command: "FWUpdLcl.exe - f... \11001197.bin-generique. In addition, when you run a 64-bit Windows environment, use the command: "FWUpdLcl64.exe - f... \11001197.bin-generique. ME Flash contains the binary update image for use with the utility.  The binary image of the update and the content of the file room for both parties can be copied to any volume of storage available in the Windows operating system.

    Since I'm on 64-bit Windows 10 I guess I need to run the command: FWUpdLcl64.exe - f... \11001197.bin-generique

My question is... How can I fill this order, that is, how know what folder to look at, to find the files.

    Many thanks for the advice.

When you run HP service packs, they will enlarge and place their content under a clean directory in C:\swsetup.

Specifically, in your case, if you are running sp74202.exe, you should see a new directory that c:\swsetup\sp74202 was created with the contents of the service pack to the breast.

You can also use 7-zip to look inside the service pack exe without running from the exe is a zip file that runs the installation program once unzipped self-extracting

In any case, is a more recent version update ME here , but first of all, I would apply the latest system firmware update available here.

When looking at service pack HP above links, it is advisable to selectively click on each 'Description' and 'Improvements', 'Instructions of Installation' 'Release Notes' 'fixes' tabs 'History' and read the information (some of it is repetative, but you'll soon learn where to focus your attension).

The content of these tabs contain important and relevant information on what has been improved, corrected, what system it is, how to install the update, etc. And if one SP installed previously is not listed in the tab 'historic' liberation may have been driven by HP due to certain behaviours fauly or another question!

Attension pay including prerequisites in some cases of updates must be reinforced (is that you can always just apply later).

And if you read these things boaring, tab Instructions of Installation of the firmware (BIOS) system would have given you a clue where the sp files are extended to the

Have you tried simply enter the command (as shown) via a command prompt window and change the directory where the FWUpdLcl.exe file is located?

Just keep in mind that sp74202 is the initial ME firmware release is nothing so sould update

So best to apply the latest firmware system (BIOS), then the ME firmware, then maybe later ME software (under chipset drivers).

Better to mark this page that lists all downloads for your 64-bit of Windows 10 z240 Tower system then see him regularly.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 580t: SATA HDD recognized and boots with the 2nd HARD drive, but not without

    Hello

I have a Pavilion HPE - 580t with windows 7 installed.  The original drive (Drive1) has (according to Windows Disk Manager), a 100 MB system partition, a partition of 1 GB operating system and recovery partition.  The drive began to generate disk errors.  I added a second SATA (lecteur2), which has been recognized in the BIOS - it always appears at startup.

I do not have to implement a system of lecteur2, but re-installed Windows 7 100 MB partition using lecteur2 as boot drive (not a cover), and it works fine, for most.  Reader1 still generates errors and slows down the office, but if I disconnect reader1, lecteur2 is ignored at the start, as the Bureau attempts a network boot.  I have confirmed in Windows OS is the start of the lecteur2, not reader1, but once again, lecteur2 is ignored as boot device if reader1 is not present.  I should add that this was the case when I was reinstalling the OS, I tried unplugging reader1 prior to re - install, but could not do and still access lecteur2.

I tried to go up during the boot sequence in the Setup (F10), no change.  One additional thing - Setup (F10) is available that when reader1 is connected - F10 key has no effect at startup if reader1 is detached.  F10 Setup runs from the system on Disk1 area?  Any ideas on what I need to do to drop Drive1?

    Thank you

    David

I can now tell you 2 things on your system.

    (1) the original hard drive is 1.5 TB and that is embedded in the tattoo of HP.

    (2) you cannot use a disk less than 1.5 TB as primary drive.

Never seen a facility like this scheme start between readers.  The only way I see on this perdictament is to remove the 1 TB drive and let the process of recovery of re - install the operating system. Then immediately clone the original on a new disk of 1.5 or 2 t. Attention to not exceed 2 TB. Seagate and WD has a free program for Disk Wizard for cloning option.

Found a box that prevents the bios to booting from anything other than the hard drive in the BIOS, under Security.  Stupid because it still allows you to change the order of boot without any error message.

Once I changed I could boot from the cd and fix corrupted files.

  • Tecra M10 hangs when booting with the new OEM battery

    Hello world

I bought an OEM battery for my tecra and now the laptop freezes at boot (the screen remains black with a flashing underscore) with the battery connected.
I have to remove the battery, connect the AC adapater, turn on the laptop and, after loading of windows, and then connect the battery.

    Any idea?

    Thank you

    > I bought an OEM battery for my tecra and now the laptop freezes at boot (the screen remains black with a flashing underscore) with the battery connected.

In most cases underscore flashing is related to the problem of faulty RAM or HARD disk.
In my case, the HARD drive was defective and so I had the same symptom for laptop.

I m not very well where is the link between the blinking underscore and the new battery but the computer world everything is really strange sometimes and a lot of strange things can happen so maybe the new battery is defective

Have you noticed this problem with the old battery?
If not, then I recommend test another battery maybe it helps

When I did find the password. What can I do?

    Hello

The fact is that the BIOS password can be removed only by the service of Toshiba.
There is no need of a special procedure that can be done only by the service man.

  • Problem with the BIOS boot image

Hi - I recently updated day/flashed the BIOS of my T60 (2623-KFU) through windows by using the Setup files in the support section. I noticed the image of the characteristic changing BIOS boot and creates the Logo.Mod file that I have included in my BIOS flash. However, flashing it, I noticed that the Intel Logo (top-right) and the Lenovo Logo (right & Vertical) still exists and overlapped my custom image.

Is it possible to remove these logos so that I can have a clean design beautiful original appears at startup? I tried flashing back to nothing does not.

ThinkWiki says that you have to work with them. I didn't find a way to remove them.

    Hello.

XP and Seven is installed in dual-boot on my laptop and I use EasyBCD to choose which system I want to start.

To start XP, I need to enable "Compatibility" (Controller SATA in BIOS mode) and seven is "AHCI" must be activated.

Is there a way for my two OS was started without making changes in the bios?
Y at - it an update to correct this problem (or alternative)?

    Thank you in advance.
    Marc

Yes you can do it but I'm afraid, you must reinstall Windows XP Home edition m.
Why? Because before beginning to install Windows XP Home edition, you must change it to AHCI mode, launch the installation of Windows XP Home edition and before you start you need to load the SATA driver (via F6 I think).

  • Lenovo M91p desktop does not boot with the new graphics card (Blank don't screen no BIOS)

    Hi all

I recently bought a Lenovo M91p thinkcenter Desktop as an upgrade to my old PC i3.

    Old Spec is as follows:

    • Coolermaster Thunder 600W power supply
    • Card mother Intel DH55HC
    • Processor i3
    • Graphics HIS HD Radeon 7950
    • 8 GB RAM
    • HARD DRIVE 500 GB

I transferred my HD supply and Power 500 GB old to new Lenovo desktop and everything starts very well.

Then I installed 2 x 2 GB extra in the Lenovo M91p (which in fact 8GB) and updated the disk of 500 GB to 1 TB.

So my new spec is as follows:

    • Coolermaster Thunder 600W power supply
    • Card mother Lenovo Q67
    • I7 2600 3.4 Ghz CPU
    • 8 GB RAM
    • 1 to and 500 GB HARD drive

Everything Booted fine. Then I tried to install my old graphics (HIS 7950 graphics Radeon HD card) card. I got was a blank screen, no beeps, no BIOS... Nothing.

At first, I thought that my diet was not enough... So I tested a 750W power supply in the pc. Still nothing.

Then I thought that the motherboards BIOS was outdated... Updated... Still nothing. I even tried to update the firmware of the graphics card. Nothing.

The graphics card works because I tested it in my old machine and it worked 100%.

However, I took my graphics card to my provider and he tests it on another of his pieces... Did not work there either.

My PC BIOS is not supported for secure boot, in case anyone wants to know.

I am out of ideas now... Anyone able to help?

There is a white list of graphics cards that will recognize the BIOS. The 7950 HD is a map of 180w, well beyond what the power plant can provide (and case/sufficient cooling fans for) and not a single one is that Lenovo would provide support for the BIOS.

Use the search engine above to see what cards other owners have used successfully in their M91p.

  • R7-571 locks 3 min after booting with the 2.09 bios

I've recently updated my bios on my R7-571 and he made me a great misfortune.  My computer crashes hard between 3 minutes and 03:30 min after the start, if I does not disable the WIndows Management INstrumentation service.  Of course, this caused other problems on services that depend on that like LogMeIn.  I need a solution to this.  Is a way to downgrade to a bios earlier I don't think that is possible without a version of the update of the bios that will support it, or a newer bios that addresses this problem.  Help, please.  I paid a lot of money for this laptop, when well even it was a refurbished model.  I'm only a few months after the warranty.  I hope someone can help me solve this problem.
