Re: Crash on Tecra M3 of screen

This morning my Tecra M3 green screen LCD turned and then slowly disappeared in a cloudy cloud.
When I restarted I had a large screen with red and white rays online and weird graphics.

Windows XP logo comes up but is covered with white lines vertical white followed by many bosses of white stripes horizontal but then the OS is not kick in and I end up with a white screen.

Maybe 5 minutes later I hear the theme of Windows but still no office - nothing.
I don't see/hear the spinning of the HD.

I tried to boot mode safe, where I always get red and white patterns, but I can make the text to start safe mode.
I have recently re-installed XP of the original system DVD (version 2006 - I think) and everything seemed ok so far.

I have a load of work to go for HELP!
Is is ok to continue working normally in Safe Mode - it is possible to connect in this mode?

Help!

Safe mode is option that offers access in the operating system preinstalled if there is a problem and that you cannot use it in normal mode. In safe mode OS will be loaded with a minimum configuration and without important driver. It is not the solution for you.

If I understand you, now you have the own operating system preinstalled. Try to start as usual and see what happens. I fear you have serious hardware problem and there is not a lot that you can do everything alone. Is the defective LCD screen or the graphics card does not work properly. What you can do is to test it with the external monitor. If these lines will be displayed again it is certainly because of the faulty graphics card.

In any case, contact service and see what they can do for you.

  • Tecra S1: Empty screen and beep error Code appears

    Hello

I have a toshiba tecra s1 and it no longer works, and I don't know why.

When I start the laptop there is nothing wrong, but after 3 minutes or if the screen is not responding. Then I tried to reboot, it gives a black screen and beeps. The beeps are:
short, short, long, break, short, short, short.

And what he repeates himself. When I wait several days it will start again and then after 3 minutes it will "crash" again.

What is the problem with my laptop? Why it works, and after 3 minutes no longer works?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards!

    Hello

The laptop starts fine in the Windows operating system?

Strange beep error code usually appears because there is a hardware problem on the S1 and the POST (power on self-test) cannot be passed correctly.
If the computer falls down the POST, the computer then returns a beep code indicating what is causing the computer not not to pass on the MESSAGE.

The problem is that all the different systems of BIOS support meanings of different code.
As far as I know, Toshiba Tecra S1 uses Toshiba BIOS and only the ASP can read this code and know what it means. I recommend to contact the ASP in your country for assistance!

PS: Check out this interesting page about additional information on computer POST / beep codes

  • Tecra A2 - grey screen problem

I bought a PC laptop Toshiba Tecra A2 nearly 4 years ago. It worked perfectly until a few days where he has stopped working. Now when I open a gray screen and nothing else. It won't turn off or do anything. The interesting thing is that when I press the button, I hear the sound loading windows. This leads me to believe that there is a problem with the display and not the hard drive.

The big problem is that ALL my photos were on the laptop and I didn't have them backed up prior to the crash. So is it possible that I can remove the hard drive and somehow get my photos. I have no problem with the replacement of the laptop as it is old, but the photographs are priceless and I wouldn't lose them.

Everyone knows about this problem with a Toshiba before? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

The connection of the screen may be loose, or the screen is maybe defective. Bring the laptop to an ASP for a quote.

Your data should be still intact. To retrieve the files, you can remove the HARD drive and use a USB 2.5 "HDD adapter to connect it to another PC. The HARD drive will be displayed as an additional drive (E: for example) letter, then you go to E:\documents and settings\ [user] \mydocuments\ and copies the files on the other PC, then burn these files to a CD or DVD.

Remember to always back up your important files regularly. You never know when the HARD drive will fail.

  • Tecra A2 - blue screen stops and restarts

I have a PC laptop Toshiba Tecra A2. Every now and then, it displays a blue screen and crashed. He mentions something about a 'memory error' or "physical dump" something in this direction. No new drivers were either installed, it is just the normal recovery software. Help, please! Thank you

  • Tecra S3 - blue screen after first before installation

I bought a new Tecra S3 and is the first time installation with recovery DVDs before installation and the system will reboot and crash blue screen first boot.

I returned to the dealer and change an another Tecra S3 so same problem continues...

I can't finish first installation... I think that the problem of raid driver. But the restore CD restore with ghost image.

    How can I install first?

    Erkan GOCEN

    Hello Erkan

I have Tecra S3 for some time and I have preinstalled it twice (standard and expert mode) and in my case, it works without any problem.

Trust me on this path is not easy to say what can be the problem, but I assume the recovery DVD is defective. You got two units with the same recovery media?

Try to contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner in your country and to explain to them what is happening. They can order new media recovery for you and also to preinstall the unit. If this happens because of a recovery media you will get a free.

  • Tecra A2 blue screen when you select the display settings tab

Hi, I have a Tecra A2 Windows XP SP2 (and all of the updates in automatic mode). Only two months. When I go to display properties and click on the tab settings of the machine crashes with a blue screen. Have tried to reinstall the driver provided on the CD with the machine but makes no difference. I tried downloading a more updated to Intel driver but it says that it cannot install it. Any suggestions from anyone, please?
Also (may be relevant but do not know) in device manager I have two default monitors list and two identical cards - which is how it should be?

    Hello

Yes, to you on time. In the device under Graphics Manager, two graphics controllers appear. But it's not a fault.
Also Toshiba recommend using the graphic drivers of Toshiba. In this case, you should visit Toshiba's pilot Web site, and you need to install the graphics driver from this site.

That looks terrible, I have a headache looking at this screen :)
Anyway have you checked if the same question would be visible on the external monitor?
    Check it!

I mean that it would get more details about the failure.
If the question seems too much on the external display, a graphics card might be faulty.
If the external monitor is fine, the problem is only to s for laptop screen.

  • Tecra A2 - striped screen of the chassis

I have been using a Tecra A2 for about 6 months again and one of the first things that I noticed that the screen comes into contact with the body and created a line of 2 inches over the entire surface of the screen.

  • Tecra M3: black screen on startup, the vertical lines on the external monitor

    Hi all

I searched a lot on the Internet for a solution to this specific problem, I have, but did not find a thread
with exactly the same problem. I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 with Windows XP SP 3. Two weeks ago, I encountered problems with the commissioning. After a couple of times to restart it would work. Then it became worse... When I try to run I see no splash... the screen remains black. If I press the power button, I hear the fan and CD player but no screen. It is totally black. I know its working because I can go (blindly) in the installation program. Press end, and then press Y and enter. The computer will restart but still no screen.

I plugged it to an external monitor. Pressing Fn and F5 allows switching. The external monitor shows different
vertical lines in multiple colors. They change if I go to settings or you try to start windows.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems?

I have fear of solution can be given by the service only.
In my view, this question must be tested properly.

I can't say for sure, but to me that sounds like a technical question. Without testing you will know for sure what is the problem.
Here on the forum we can only speculate why this happen.

As you can see on notebooka? s LCD problem. On external it doesnâ? t properly work as well. It may be a faulty graphics card.
Try to contact the nearest authorized Toshiba service and speak with the technician.

  • Re: Tecra M9 and screen compatibility

    Hello

I was wonderuing if anyone knew if a M10 screen is compatible with a model M9 that I have been informed that the M9 screen became EOL and cannot be imposed.

    Thank you
    Peter

    Hey,.

I think that this question can't be answered here because it s only a user to user forum. In this case, you will need to ask a service provider authorized or let's say a laptop technician. They should be able to tell if the screen fits.

By the way: year ASP can order all the original parts of Toshiba and a display for Tecra M9 I also think. Just ask for this and they will try to help you.
On the Toshiba site, you can search for an ASP.
