Re-installation of windows: difficult to get hold of an iso

Hello, I try to format my partition windows and re - install windows from scratch (long story short, it's a laptop of lenovo and I just found out about their malware pre-installed, I don't have it, but I want to install fee anyway to escape from anything else they put on it). I think that my license is for windows 8.1 and I am running windows 7 through downgrade rights. The sticker on the base of the laptop says windows 8 and he arrived with some DVD upgrade for windows 8.1.

But I can't find any images for the operating system on a website, I trust (that is to say, this one). I tried here , but it rejected my product key for an OEM key. I tried these two installers and they reject my key as well. I don't want to use the CD that came with my laptop, because they will probably not fresh upgrades installed (and will probably be bloatware of lenovo on them).

So, what can I do any re - install windows? I don't mind if it is version 7 or 8.1, but I don't want to download the iso from a questionable site and find my key will not activate it after I already formatted my over current installation of W7.

I was with MSFT support today and took 1 hour on the phone with just to understand their http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery page is broken.  Lame!

At the same time, they gave me another site to download the ISO image.

It is here.

http://getintopc.com/gsearch.php?q=Windows+7+SP1&CX=005243863323681272266%3Ahpku-xcqlxm&COF=FORID%3A10&ie=UTF-8&SA=search

Rep MSFT says that they are legitimate and good copies.

I have not tried to download again.

They ensured that I would hear back from them on broken http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery.

Good luck.

    Hello

Do a clean install of XP with the XP disk provided by Dell, if you.

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/OperatingSystems/SS/instxpclean1.htm

If you do not have your XP disk, you can contact Dell and ask them to send you a XP disc.

They should do this for a small fee.

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the order of startup and startup disk:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall XP back on how you purchased your computer.

    Hello

During the installation of Windows 7 or 8.1 using a USB stick - get the message "cannot be installed, it is a GPT partition.

I have 64 bit install discs for Win 7 and Win 8.1. These two install on my desktop in duel boot. I made a Flash DRIVE of each disk so I can install it more quickly.

Problem: I get the cannot install because it is a GPT partition.

Y at - there no way to make these 2 USB sticks work?

    Thank you, Brad

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

Your computer does not have Microsoft's Downgrade rights and you must buy a copy of Windows 7 with a valid Microsoft COA and product key.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install Windows 7 from a USB and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the factory hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    Hello

It didn't reinstall the ATL update, it reinstalled 2005 Redistributable. So now, I have 2005 and 2010 x 86 both. And it says that two dates installiation are two days after I installed the 2010. I know 2005 and the update was uninstalled, because I checked after restart the computer and before you install the 2010 version. Very curious.

But my Screensaver works and access to the camera seemed to work after uninstalling / reinstalling the software. So, good. Thank you.

  • How can I get an installer for Windows Vista drive?

    Need windows on a drive!

I have an acer aspire 5315 with OEM windows vista Basic. I want to perform a new installation of this version of windows on my laptop that there have been some problems (multiple annoying windows error codes) and want to start over. I have not provided with an installation for windows cd when I bought this laptop a few years again. I have a license for this laptop windows key but not drive! I am able to get one sent me free I paid initially for windows?  Thanks, Mike

    Hello

Contact Acer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or ACER Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
