Re: Memory video Tecra A11 - 10 d

Hi all

I have a Tecra A11 - 10 d and in windows it show that my graphics card uses the 1200 MB of RAM as shared video memory. I didn't need as much memory for my graphics card, I think 256 MB is enough tacking into account that the onboard card has 64 MB of memory dedicated video.

Now, on all computers, I know that in the bios, there is an option to set the RAM to the video card, but I don't see this option in the BIOS of my computer. I think / hope that an updated bios gives me this option. On the drivers download section I see a new BIOS, but I don't want to flash until I see the BIOS updated specifications.

Can someone point me to such a document?
Has anyone had this problem and resolved?

Thank you
Dan.

Hello

as I know, the video card will automatically if capture the amount allocated portable RAM. I doubt that you can make adjustments yourself. In the Bios of the Pc desktop, you can do as there is an option for the allocation of memory video card. Reflash the bios will not help you.

According to specification for laptop, your laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB. What you need to do is use some memory modules live tested and compatible.
Compatible 4 GB of RAM for your Tecra has PA3677U-1M4G part number.

  • Tecra A11 - Video No. via mini DisplayPort

    Hello

I recently bought a mini DisplayPort-> HDMI cable to use with my Tecra A11 Notebook. My intention was to run two external displays by running a cable VGA for my LG W2242 monitor and run the mini DP to HDMI Cable to my HP 2509 m Monitor. Unfortunately, I can't get my HP Monitor to recognize the video Signal from the mini DIsplayPort.

I downloaded the latest drivers for my laptop, but still no luck. Is there something special I should do to get the mini DisplayPort to send a video Signal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Landon

Now to maybe stupid question, but where did you get the info that you can use two video output ports at the same time? What is this described in manuals s?

In front of me, I have Tecra A11 - 19 M and would like to know how to use it. as far as I know that a single external display can be used with this laptop.

  • Tecra A11 - problems of the more recent/video BIOS

    Hi all

I just got a Toshiba Tecra A11 the other day which is out of warranty (Refurb). When I got the laptop there is a problem where the photo was displayed at 1024 x 768 and biased (in BIOS). Image 1-2cm off the screen to the left, with over the space of 5-6 cm black to the right of the picture, the low 2-3 cm of the image were also the bottom of the screen.

I installed Ubuntu Studio initially and attempted to force the display to a wide screen resolution. I didn't have a chance, I also installed Win7, but still with the latest drivers, I had no chance.

It was strange because the BIOS was displayed in the same way, so, naturally, I decided to upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS. The BIOS of the laptop is quite old (end of 2009).
I downloaded the update to the BIOS of Toshiba web site and ran the update.

The new BIOS has been installed and rebooted the machine.
However there was no image displayed on the LCD screen, windows startup has done successfully, if I connect to an external monitor to the laptop I brush. When starting the laptop backlight LCD lights.

My question is: what can I do to fix this? Is a tool of recovery or down to BIOS available? Is it possible to reflash the bios? What is recommended?

    Thank you.

    > The new BIOS has been installed and rebooted the machine.
    > However there was no image displayed on the LCD screen, windows startup has done successfully, if I connect to an external monitor to the laptop I brush. When starting the laptop backlight LCD lights.

This means that everything is ok with the external monitor?
You can access the BIOS by pressing F2 and you can set it to the default settings?

Usually, you can switch between the external and internal view using the FN + F5 key combination. It work?

  • Tecra A11 - less than 10 ips in Skyrim on

    Hello
I have a Tecra A11 i7 which came with a wiped HARD drive
I installed win 7 pro and the drivers from the Toshiba site, including the pilot Intel Turbo Boost Technology.

Even with all the settings set to low temperatures, vid Skyrim runs only less than 10 frames per second.
I upgraded 4-8gig ram, but this did not help.
The GPU is Intel, so I can't use Geforce experience.

I have a Dell Vostro V131 i5 which takes place to better Skyrim.
But the screen is smaller and i/o ports are 90% of dead, so I'd rather use the Toshiba.

There are 4 "unknown devices" in Device Manager, but none of them look relevant.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you

To be honest, I have no reasonable explanation because I don't have this video game and can not test it on my Tecra A11 - 19M.
In my opinion this Tecra is typical business very bad for the games and the machine for office work.
It does not offer good graphics performance and it is not the best for gaming.

I use it for daily activities and games use different model Satellite P with nvidia GPU.

  • Cannot open files locked by using fingerprints on Tecra A11 - 17 H

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Tecra A11 - 17 H - PTSE0E-03402EFR
OS is Windows 7 64 bit

    Here's my problem:
I blocked files (image, text) with fingerprints, while I was running Windows XP Professional.

I copied my files without unlocked on external hard drive, and then uninstalled XP and installed Windows 7.
After the relocation, the fingerprint reader has stopped working.
I had to download the drivers and software on the Toshiba site.

I then put my transferred on the external hard drive on the computer, but now it is impossible to open the file.
Extension has been changed (automatically), an fpl. came to added after the original extension.

I tried fpl removed, but nothing happens.
When I right-click, I do not have the option 'unblock, but rather "to protect the file".

I understand (reading the forum) that fingerprinting technology TPM consists of a microchip containing a unique computer decryption key.
Theoretically, it would be possible to unlock my files, since it is the same computer...

    Help me please...

    Please read this:
[Cannot access protected fingerprint after recovery files | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9802O50000R01.htm]

    _Issue: _
A user can access its files of fingerprints protected when you save these files on external storage as for example a network drive and perform a recovery or reinstallation of the operating system on the computer where the files are protected.

    Individual: _
AuthenTec fingerprint software provides a feature called 'the file/folder protection' which gives the user the ability to protect files without worrying if stored locally, on an external (USB flash memory) or network storage with either a password or stored fingerprints. After you protect the files, they cannot be moved/copied/deleted until the user Déprotège them.

The first cause of the above mentioned scenario is due to the fact that the fingerprint software "Authentec" creates a link between material installed fingerprint and file system on the HARD disk that functions as a key. This connection is deleted after a formatting or removal of the hard drive of the computer. Without this connection, the files are no longer accessible and the user will not be able to unprotect them since there is no "key", that could unlock the file protection.

    _Resolution: _
To avoid any loss of data caused by this scenario, * you need to unprotect the files before storing the files on external media * for purposes of backup/storage and then reinstall the operating system.
Generally, users should make sure to keep a backup accessible to external storage of data corruption and data loss.

  • Tecra A11 - impossible to get the FN keys to run on Win 7

I had to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on my Tecra A11.

Everything works fine but I find that I really really miss the ability to activate the trackpad turn off and turn on the wireless and turn off.

I'm guessing that the only way to do it would be to reinstall this program that connects the FN key for the numbered function keys.

I don't know what to call it so I don't know what to look for. I want to be careful and not to install more that I need.

Y at - it program or how I can get this resettled function?

    Thank you

    Susan

p.s. This forum very well, I found how to turn the touchpad off when a mouse is installed, but if I don't have a mouse attached and it's off, I'm in a mess :)

    Hello

The FN keys are controlled by VAP (value added package) and the Support of Flash memory card utility.
Install the VAP first and check if the FN keys work. If it will not work then you should also try the Flash Cards Support utility to get this FN buttons working.
Flash memory card Support is located in Satellite L500 or other subsequent series

I want to connect my Tecra A11 with a Logilink mini Displayport 2 HDMI adapter for my Toshiba Regza LCD.

The video connection was quiet easy, but I'm not able to get the sound of the LCD screen.
Is there a setting shit I forgot to put?

I am frustrated, after 2 hours, only to find no way, especially as an IT Pro.

I found 2 Audio device in Win7 x 64 Device Manager but nothing in the Windows sound settings.
    Audio Realtek... (external chip!)
Intel HD Audio, I think that what comes from the CPU/GPU (Core i)

I hope someone can helf solve me this problem.

    Thank you very much
    The Germany Asko

    Hello

As far as I know to choose the HDMI output as the primary device.
You can do this in Control Panel-> sound-> playback.

If you n t all devices listed in this category, then you should try right click and must have activated options called; Show hidden devices and show disabled devices.

    I hope this helps.

  • Tecra A11 - how to turn on wireless via batch?

    Hello people,

I have a Tecra A11-Notebooks here in our society. For our users, I am writing a batchscript that connects to our VPN:
    1. go to the wireless
    2. change the settings of the proxy
    3. connect the umts
    4. start Internet Explorer
    5. start vpn-software

I finished all features are waiting for the function to activate the wireless.
I think of flashcard-wireless. You can normally activate it with Fn + F8.
I can imitate keys race, but not the key Fn because it won't send a keycode.

Demand for memory cards middle is TCrdMain.exe, located in C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\FlashCards.
Is there a way to activate wireless with a kind of TCrdMain.exe switch or another program exists to enable the wireless function?

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me questions.

    Kinf regards,
    Timo

    Hi Peter,.

There is no batch to enable FN keys. This is possible only with the FN + F8 key combination and Flash Cards Support utility.

But why wireless must always be activated? The easiest way is if WLAN connection is always on me.
Otherwise, I would have no problem pressing FN + F8. Isn t it ;)

  • Re: Unable to run the HARD drive recovery in the Tecra A11

My laptop is a TECRA A11 - 1 8 PTSE1E-07-J044AR with processor i5, 4 GB RAM and running Windows 7 64 bit. Recently I had a problem with one of the user (desktop profile) profiles and has not been able to create one despite several attempts, so decided to reformat to the factory settings. But nevertheless I tried the procedure, he went only up to the Boot Manager settings. After that, the warning screen never comes to the top and the laptop eventually normal startup.

So I decided to ignore the recovery of HARD drive and installed Windows 7 32 bit through a CD of formatting of the main partition to C: drive, but keeping the recovery partition, just in case. Now, even if Windows installed fine, however, none of the drivers (LAN, WiFi, video, sound, etc.) are installed.

    Now my questions are:

1 can I reinstall my old Windows 64 bit through the recovery of HARD drive? If so, how?

    2. can I continue with the newly installed 32-bit Windows and just install all the necessary drivers and utils from Toshiba? If so, where the sources?

Would be grateful for any help.

    > 1. Can I reinstall my old Windows 64 bit through the recovery of HARD drive? If so, how?
After the clean version of the OS that it is not possible to install the recovery image using recovery option of HARD drive due to lack of repair my option computer start-up advanced options (F8 at startup).
You can install recovery using recovery DVDs image only. Did you create this recovery disk?
    > 2. I can continue with the newly installed 32-bit Windows and just install all the necessary drivers and > Toshiba utils? If so, where the sources?
Of course you can do it. If Win7 32-bit is supported for this laptop model all the necessary drivers, the tools and the utilities that you can find on the download page of Toshiba - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Tecra A11 Touchpad Windows 10 questions

After upgrading my Tecra A11-182 (PTSE0E-0LP046GR) for Windows 10, I have problems with the touchpad. The cursor jumps from time to time in other places on the desktop, as in Word 2010. Y at - it a new version of the driver for this device? The Windows Device Manager indicates that the most recent driver is installed. Thank you for your suggestions

    Achim

The cursor jumps because your palm makes contact with the touchpad while you type.

The advanced settings of Touchpad has an option called "Disable tapping" or «Disable the Touchpad when typing»
If you do not have these settings, you must update the driver for the Touchpad (Synaptics or Alps) that is compatible with Windows 10.

  • Tecra A11 - 1EG - cannot be accessed after the supervisor setting BIOS password

Hello, I would like to know if anyone can help?

We have started to put a supervisor on our laptop Tecra A11 password so that our students can not set passwords on the hard drive, etc.

To enter the BIOS and set a BIOS password, press us F2 that the machine starts.
Then we go to the security option, then supervisor password.
After entering the password we use twice, press us F10 to save etc.

The machine starts ok and will windows smoothly.

The problem we have now, is that we cannot go back into the bios at all.
As machine starts support us on the "F2" key as before, but unlike previously the screen remains white and the "Toshiba leading Innovation > ' screen no longer appears."

If we keep our finger on the F' key or continue pressing the laptop restarts just without ever get to the BIOS screen where I guess that get us ask the supervisor password that we set earlier?

Is there another key, that we should be pressing that start the laptop?

I would add that we have added a password of supervisor for the screen of security BIOS on three of our laptops and all three have the same problem.

    Thank you

    Steve

I think this should be useful for you:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0B032D0000R01.htm

In some cases, you need to press the "INS" in Toshiba logo appears.

Then appears a prompt for the password for the supervisor and if the password is certified then the BIOS could be entered by pressing the "F2" key

  • Tecra A11 - 113 - white screen and the cursor of the mouse during the boot

    Hello

My Toshiba Tecra A11-113 with win 7 32 bit boots with a mouse cursor and the visible white screen.
I tried to start under different boot options. Mode, safemode, last repair job configuration
and msdos command only... all these startup options give the same result.

I also tried with win 7 32 bit dvd, but same result.

I am able to access the C drive by booting with a linux key, so the data is visible.

Can someone please give me a solution?

    Thank you

What happens if you access the BIOS? Is menu visible on-screen BIOS?
Turn on the unit F2 button and press.
This should allow you to access the BIOS.

If you will be able to access the BIOS and see everything as usual, then the screen is OK and I think there is a problem with your installation of Windows System.
So boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk should help you solve this problem.

You said that you already tried to boot from the Windows DVD disc is this Toshiba Recovery disk? In my opinion, you use this disk to restore the laptop to factory settings.

  • Tecra A11-110 (PTSE1E) does not load

    Hi all

    Recently my laptop stopped charging.
The battery is new and worked for a while. It works on another laptop.

When I connect the charger, the laptop gets power, but it does not load. I guess it's always work around.
Is this a mistake in any sensor motherboard?

    How can I fix?

Is the motherboard 'dead' (for this purpose)?

    Thanks in advance.
    See you soon,.
    Hugo.

Have you noticed the problem of load using the old, original battery?
If the old battery may be charged correctly, I don't think that there is a problem with the laptop.

You said you have tested this new battery in a laptop.
Have you tried using another model Tecra A11?

    Your comments would be appreciated.

  • Tecra A11 - 17 C - impossible to boot from LAN

    Hello

    For the last few days I worked on a Toshiba Tecra A11 - 17 c PTSE0E - 02W01GEN.

I work in a school and we have about 15 of these laptops. I was not the person who did the origonal installation and this person has not left.

One of the computers needed a re - build. We use an installation of LAN to windows 7 so I put prioraty device that the network card, save it and re - start.

Then, sometimes with the error PXE - E61 Media Test failed, check the cable.
Now, I know the NIC works fine beuse it worked before I did any messing around.

I then checked the other laptop and I get the same error PXE - E61 Media Test failed, check the cable and they all fully functional network ports.

So I thought ok there is something in the BIOS.
I found nothing apart an Enable lan option that is enabled.

It was suggested to relax the default BIOS and then format the hard drive.
So I thought ok well first I'll try it with the BIOS reset if that does not work, I'll do a format.

So after that it does not work I thought Okay I'll just clone your laptop work with clonezilla.

Do I get to the windows flag then instantly the blue screen of death, I can't read it so I is much too fast.

I thought ok I swap hard drives with the work there. The boots work the clone hard drive just fine without error at all, but the work PC hard drive load the windows flag then blue screen of death.

I then used a product recovery disc now, it's a drive of windows XP is usless. But I did anyway, and same thing again, it turns the disc fine install XP fine but the flag windows and blue screen of death.

I finally intertwined a hardrive work 1 different working laptop and a same new blue screen of death in wondows flag.

It seems to me there must be something on the bios that is
    (A) stop the network port in the bios
    (B) stopping the different hard drives to work in the laptop, even if it's exactly the same laptop.

They built from the network before for the wondows current installation works, but I have no idea what to do now.

The error PXE - E61 Media Test failed, check the cable means that the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN, but the configuration of the installation could not proceed.
    Why?
I m not very well why, but probably there is something wrong with the PXE server settings, etc.

Are you sure that PXE server has been correctly configured to 100%?
If this is not the case, check this box.

    > I then used a product recovery disc now, it's a drive of windows XP is usless. But I did anyway, and same thing again, it turns the disc fine install XP fine but the flag windows and blue screen of death.

Always is Win XP installation could be completed, and this means that the HARD drive should be ok.
The BSOD could be due to incompatible software or wrong / driver that is part of the recovery disk

Are you sure that the Win XP Recovery disk you used was the right one?

How about installation using charge Windows 7 system using the disk of Microsoft?
