Re: Satellite L300 - 1 9 - DVD drive constantly ejecting

Is someone can you please tell me why my DVD - RW player constantly ejects on its own?

My laptop is only 2 months old, but and the problem started about two weeks ago, but whenever the laptop is on now, I can't keep the closed disc?

Thank you

Hello

You use the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows? Maybe a driver or incompatible program is the cause.

But to be honest, for me, it looks like a hardware malfunction or made the same mistake occurs in the BIOS?
In any case, I think that you need help from a technician for laptop. On the Toshiba site, you can search the nearest ASP:

  • Satellite L300 - Chaning the HARD drive partitions

I'm not a computer expert, so answers in clear English + please.

I own a Satellite L300. Recently, the hard disk was doing fairly complete. I save all my files in "My Documents" etc... I had a look under my computer and the volume C: (called 'Vista') has only 5 GB of free space. However, there is also another volume E: (called 'Data'), and this volume is almost empty, apart from a folder called HDDRecovery.

I would like to start using this free space. I tried to reduce the size of the E: volume and the volume C:, but - although I can reduce volume E: via Start-computer-Manage - I can't increase the volume C:. In any case, I could only reduce the E: volume by half.

I created the recovery DVD, so can I remove this volume E: or not? And if I do, I'll be able to extend the C: volume to fill my hard drive?

If not, can I just start to save files in the E: volume it will affect what is already there?

What is the best course of action? What I would really like is just a very large volume, so that my files are in one simple place.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi André,.

First I put t understand why reduce you the E: volume or use only one partition. In my opinion every computer must have at least two partitions. On the second partition, I always save my documents, videos, photos, music, etc.. It is cool and can save a lot of time because if I reinstall Windows using the recovery disk, all the files it will not be deleted, only the first partition.
As you can see, the second partition is a useful feature!

But if you have the Toshiba Recovery disk you can do what you want. If a problem occurs, you can restore the settings from the factory with this disc in a few minutes.

By the way: here's an interesting article on the Windows disk management:

  • Satellite Pro A10 - CD/DVD drive - updated?

I have an A10 and a few remnants of the A15 which I cannibalise the parts.
The A10 has DVD playback only, while the A15 motorway had features of reading / writing DVD.

Desperately the A10 BIOS does not recognize the A15 CD/DVD drive.
Anyone know if it is possible to obtain this recognition - could I swap chips BIOS with the A15 for example?

This machine is my toy and I have it running with a Pentium 4 M 2.4 GHz and 1 GB of ram (frustrating it does not accept the sticks of 1 GB!).

It's a gift so if I break, well I'll be sad - but not heart broken...

    Hello
You can only use the BIOS that came out for the Satellite Pro A10 series and which is available on the Toshiba page.

But why you n t use a CD/DVD drive that is compatible with the model Satellite Pro A10?
The manual provides details on supported devices.
I found the user manual [here: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/userman-en-20090121085356.zip]

On page 4-7 you will find info on the STRANGE devices supported by Pro A10
    -TEAC CD-224th CD-ROM drive
    -DW-224th drive TEAC CD-RW/DVD-ROM
    -Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-C2612
    -Diving Toshiba CD-RW/DVD-ROM SD-R2412
    -DVD-R /-RW drive SD-R6012
-Hitachi drive of DVD - ROM RDA-8082
    -Player Panasonic UJDA-740/750 CD/RW/DVD-ROM

Hope that the list could be useful.

  • Satellite L300 - recovery wipes C drive then fails to rebuild

My Satellite L300 has come back to Toshiba for repair under warranty and before you have the ability to burn recovery discs came with the BSOD. Removed the hard drive and placed in a SATA cradle and ran chkdsk which repaired insofar as (back in the laptop) I could at least go to the Recovery Console.

I chose back to the Toshiba factory condition (or something similar - don't remember the exact wording). Fast C screen came up and everything seemed to go well until he came up with an error. He retried two times but the error / notice of default came twice. Tried to reboot in safe mode but not bootmgr. Again removed the drive and placed it in the SATA cradle and the C partition seems to have been deleted.

No windows installation at all, is it possible to run recovery Toshiba (departure and now 0 does nothing)?

A Windows Vista recovery disc anything or allow me to access Toshiba Recovery is impossible?

    Any ideas? Help, please!

    Hi mate,

Wait a minute, please! What error message you get exactly and what you mean exactly with the SATA docking station?

Laptops vary between countries, so what L300 you have exactly? This is important because the HARD drive recovery works different on computers cell phones or let's say there are different ways it starts.

    > With no windows installation at all, is possible to run recovery Toshiba (departure and now 0 does nothing)?
Another question: how you want to start the HARD drive recovery process so now Windows is installed? ;)
Right, that s is not possible!

In your case, I would order a new recovery disk. You must contact the ASP in your country!

  • How to use Recovery on satellite Pro L10 with DVD drive broken?

    Hello...

I have a satellite Pro L10, which is virused. I need to recover Windows. Unfortunately, I can not, because the CD/DVD drive is borked.

I tried everything until and including the purchase of a laptop adapter HD, but my desktop computer is not a Toshiba so he does not have the recovery disk.

I've never had to use a "recovery disk" before, so I have no idea how it works - apparently there should be a folder on my hard drive recovery? can someone tell me where I could find it? (I'm quite familiar with the innards of my installation of Windows and have never noticed before). Also, is it possible that this native recovery file has been compromised by my virus?

Default: can it be fixed using an installation of LAN, and if so, could someone point me to instructions? (My BIOS allows booting from LAN, but not USB, which is irritating).

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

    Thank you.

    Hello

First of all you will not be able to use the Toshiba Recovery disk if you cannot use the CD/DVD drive.
Why? Because you need to boot from the CD of recovery if you want to install windows from the CD from Toshiba.

You ask how to boot from LAN?
Well friend; I doubt that you will be able to do.
First of all that this could be possible only if you have a RIS server.
The Remote Installation Services can be installed optionally on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008.

It's really complicated and not easy for someone who has never done.
If you want you can google a little how to create REEFS but in my opinion it s advisable to buy and compatible CD/DVD drive because the STRANGE can also be used for other purposes

  • Satellite A200-AH5 CD/DVD drive does not burn any CD

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite (A200 AH3) under Windows Vista Home Premium.
    For what it's worth, there's a T2085 @ 1.73 GHz processor. It is a 32-bit operating system.
In the Device Manager when I click on the CD/DVD-Rom drives, I get CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632D ATA Device.
By clicking on this that I find that the driver is working correctly and up-to-date. I was not able to burn a CD on this system...

I have not tried to burn a DVD.
I ran through all the steps to burn a CD, however, but even if he goes through the process to show the progress that each song to a playlist is burned to disc, when the disc is supposed to be finalized... nothing on the disc when I try to read, and with the exception of iTunes or another program open when I place the CD in the drive to be played absolutely nothing happens.
I tried to burn music on a CD on the desktop of my sister, and it burned fine.

Then... It is not a problem with the discs.
When I took the disc to my sister had burned and placed in the disk drive on my laptop, it displays the tracks that had been burned and he played the music very well. This really threw me a loop for.
The laptop is only a year old and I can not burn anything.

Unfortunately, the warranty has expired. I am desperate to get this problem fixed. I don't know if he's going to burn a DVD, but I ruined 2 boxes of CD - R discs already. After disk supposedly burned music... even if no music has been burned... the disc is ruined and must be discarded.

I'm not terribly knowledgeable about aspects of warming of the computers, so I hope you can tell me in general terminology if you answer to my problem. I really hope someone out there can advise me as to what is happening or what I should do to fix the problem.

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Thank you.

    Hello

In your case, I recommend trying the different CD s from different manufacturers.
You should know that not all CD or DVD would be fully compatible with your internal CD/DVD drive.
In many cases no compatible CD or DVD would lead to exactly the same problems that you described in your post so trying different media!

In addition, I recommend checking the Toshiba driver for a CD/DVD drive update page s firmware.
As I m not wrong not the Satellite A200-AH3 belongs to the Canadian series and you should check the Canadian page for a new firmware. Maybe a new firmware is available

Last but not least, you can switch to other burning software I m using Nero I think it s the best applications for such purposes

    Hello

you mean that the external hard drive does not work too? Some software blocking your disks?

I think that the best way to check if your internal drive still works would try to start with a bootable CD (perhaps with a live linux distribution on it) and to try this with the external hard drive also.

If you're really a software that prevents the drive work properly, then you should recover your machine with the recovery media to make the drive work again properly.

  • Satellite L755-1N6 CD/DVD drive reads scans to disk but no disc inserted

    Hi all!

Yesterday, I bought a brand new Satellite L755-1N6 and I must say that I am very satisfied with this product.
    Of course, except one thing...

For some reason any my Player CD OFTEN reads/scans / searches (?) for CD/DVD even if no disc is inside! It's large notebook, but frequent ringing of CD drive is very very annoying and it is not normal.

He's trying to 'read cd' for approximately every 5 minutes (give or take a few minutes). I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. If please, if anyone has experienced this problem and do you know what this is all about?

BTW I have disabled Autoplay setting, although I think that it doesn't matter anyway.
It happened at least twice while I was writing this post...

It is very similar to that described in your thread.
Disable the + Toshiba PC Health Monitor + in msconfig Startup tab and restart the device.

  • Satellite L750-134: CD/DVD drive TS-L633F doesn't work no - 19 of the Code

    Toshiba Satellite L750-134. Windows 7 (64-bit).
TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633F stoped working a few days without any reason.

I still can load a disc but do not see it in Windows.
In the Device Manager there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point.

There is a note in the properties: Windows was unable to start this device as information on its configuration in the registry is incomplete or damaged (Code 19).

    How to solve this problem?

    Hello

Remove the CD/DVD drive in device (device marked with yellow exclamation) Manager
Then start the registry (regedit in the search)
Here, you will have to remove the filters above and below to the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM------CurrentControlSet------Control\Class------{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  • Satellite L500-126-CD/DVD drive does not open very well unrolled

    Hello

I just got my second Satellite L500-126.
I traded my first for a new because the ESCAPE key got stuck sometimes and made a grinding sound.

Now, with my new one, I noticed that my dvd drive does not open very well unrolled and 2 bars of silver metal bit come out with the car when I open it.
    Is this normal?

Also, when I close the dvd player, I hear a little noise "ping!"
Like a spring, or something. Is that also normal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 2 small bars of silver, but the reader of my laptop s contains two metals (runners, railway).
This is normal and these pieces are important to ensure that the drive can eject properly and could remain in a good position.
Still, you will hear a short click Open and close the drive.

    So I guess it's ok.

    Hello

That means only one disc can be read from your laptop and all other disks can be read properly? Well, in my opinion, it could be a disc problem, maybe it's striped s and so it can t be read to all readers.

In your case, I would try to clean the lens of your CD/DVD drive. Therefore, you can use a microfibre cloth.
    Check it!
