Re: Satellite M100-233 locations emplacementmemoire

Hello world

I followed a user guide - he says I can install both memory modules in this pretty portable.
But when I revealed the cover on the back - I have seen only 1 slot.

Can someone provide info on where is the other or if it can be replaced at all?

Hello

The laptop must support two memory locations, and both are expandable.

I think that another location is placed under the keyboard.

So if you want to upgrade the memory in the other slot, then you will need to remove the keyboard.

Generally, the keyboard is fixed with two screws hidden under the cover of thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons.
Remove the cover, remove the screws and you should be able to lift the keyboard. But be careful because it s connected to the card with the flat cable

  • Satellite M100-233: stops right after the "XP" logo

    Hello
I have a Satellite M100-233 with XP Home Edition SP3 (in Portuguese)
When it is connected to the mains and the battery is not fully charged, sometimes the yellow light does not shine.
Check the voltmeter application when this happens, tells me that the battery is on, the energy source is the sector, but the battery runs down.
As I continue to use the laptop, the amount of the battery is reported as progressively less, until he tends to zero, then the laptop just turned off, as if she was not connected to the mains.
Even if I start with the battery charged to 100%, after a couple of hours (sometimes more, sometimes less) the same thing happens.

From an authorized dealer, they told me that it was probably a short battery shorted out.

Get not that: * if she take the battery out of the laptop and turn it on:
-Most of the time it turns off right after the "XP" logo.
-It seems that this happens more often when the battery was fully charged the last time that I used it (strange! "I imagine this?)
-Also sometimes happens after that I use the laptop for a while

The only unusual bios message I get is "no TPM or TPM has a problem." I guess it has to do with the cryptographic protection, so I imagine that this has nothing to do with this issue.
About two years ago, there was a problem with the battery (it ceased to be recognized as present by the laptop) which has been repaired under warranty: they told me that they had replaced the motherboard then. However, at this time there that I could continue to work normally without the battery, which is not the case now.

I would be grateful for any advice. The most annoying is that this problem follows an irregular pattern, and the diagnosis, the dealer gave me seems hard to believe. As I use my laptop to collect data for research abroad, it is quite a risk for me to use it if I can't be sure when it will turn off on its own.

    Hello

To be honest, I doubt that anyone here in the forum would be able to provide an exactly the answer to this question
I think that it of almost impossible to say what's wrong without running any hardware checks.

But to me it looks like a card mother number possibly it s power of electronic power supply which is part of the motherboard.

What to say, maybe you need a new motherboard, but the new mobo is an expensive item, and in my opinion, you should first check if it is s to replace the motherboard or buy a laptop second hand for the same money.

  • What type of LAN is installed on the Satellite M100-233

    Hello!
Can someone tell me what wired lan type installed on my m100-233-psma0e-0pu01cru. I need to start from a floppy and HARD Norton Ghost disk image by lan, but I can't.

    Hello

You can find it by yourself! Go to Device Manager and select the area to network adapters network adapter.
Access the properties (right click) and you will get all the details about you LAN card.

  • Satellite A100-233 against Satellite M100-164

Hello! I am considering buying a Satellite A100-233 or M100-164. I was looking on the specifications for each, and I found that they are very similar (almost identical except for the size of the screen). However, I see that the M100-164 Toshiba Enhanced SpeedStep (referred to under "special functions"), but nothing on Toshiba Enhanced SpeedStep is mentioned for the A100-233. Does this mean that the A100-233 does not Toshiba Enhanced SpeedStep? If so, it means that the laptop A100-233 runs always full speed / full capabilites and never in a 'power saving' mode when idle? It has nothing similar to SpeedStep in there?

Except for this detail, is there a reason why the M100-164 is better than the A100-233? I'm tempted to go for the A100-233, because it has a bigger screen, but if anyone could report a valid reason why the M100-164 is better, then I might change my mind.

I'd appreciate really any info on the subject. Thank you!

    Hello

It depends on the CPU if the device supports a SpeedStep® technology.
A100-233 supports Intel Core Duo (Yonah) T2300 1.66GHz
M100-164 supports Intel Core Duo (Yonah) or Intel-Pentium-M (Yonah) T2300 1.66GHz

I think that the Intel-Pentium-M supports SpeedStep® technology.
In addition, Toshiba's energy saver has been preinstalled on two laptops.
This utility controls the use of the processor, cooling module and other features

    I have reinstalled the OS on my Satellite M100 - 221 PSMA0E.

HE has already used Windows XP Home Edition, and now I have installed Windows XP Professional SP2. I have an error in my DEVICE MANAGER with ethernet, mass storage controller, SM bus controller controller. But let's for ETHERNET CONTROLLER.

I guess you should try drivers intel instead of the realtek because drivers that your computer was shipped with a chipset Intel LAN.
So, please visit the website of intel (www.intel.com) and download the latest drivers LAN from their homepage.

It should work and you should soon have a working ethernet connection.

    Hello

You used a wrong method to get the drivers
As you can see it the Satellite M100-191 belongs to the series of PSMA0E
So you should search for M100 PSMA0E and not for M100-191

  • Satellite M100 Track Pad failure

I recently performed a 'factory restore' on a Satellite M100 (with Vista Home Basic Edition).

It was hoped that this process would solve one issue was the recent failure of the functionality of the "pad".
It doesn't happen if the problem persists.

The customer is using currently a "Belkin" USB optical mouse instead, and it works without any problem.

In the BIOS - I couldn't find any settings that can affect the Trackpad.
Investigation on Device Manager"- no conflict appears and a consistent"HID"device as well as the mouse (which seems to have"captured"a PS/2 port) appears.
Investigation on the 'Control Panel' - under input devices, the management software for both a mouse AND trackpad are indicated.

It seems that the 'Trackpad' has been 'disabled' somehow but I can't locate where or how that could be done.

    What Miss me?

Try to press Fn + F9 to toggle the mouse.

If its still does not (and considering that you have completed the recovery), and then the Touchpad may be replaced.

I have a Satellite M100-166 (PSMA1E-01X00TPL) with 2x512MB of RAM (DDR2). I would like to upgrade to 2x2gb, but there is a problem.

I am aware of the limit of ram / 3GB in 32-bit Windows, and I know that the second location of memory under the keyboard.

    Hello

I think that there are different configurations of hardware M100.
This means that different M100 supports different chipsets and that is why you can find various information on the upgrade of RAM.

For me, it seems that the Satellite M100-166 could be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM.
The chipset seems to confirm this value, it should be possible to get 4 GB of RAM.

  • Satellite M100-165 - need drivers in Windows XP Home edition

Any body please help me where can I download a newer driver for my laptop Toshiba Satellite M100-1211E (PSMAAL - 01 P 004) run with Window XP SP2 comfortable, when I use Windows Vista, driver it is OK but use with Window XP driver fail to function as for example could not found mic, Fn key could not operate with all functions

    Thank you
    HChau

The PSMAAL series is unclear to me. I guess you mean the Satellite M100 PSMAIE.

From my personal experience, the FN keys does not work because the BIOS does not support.
Toshiba European page offers two versions of the BIOS.
One for Vista and one for XP. Seems that the 2.8 version supports only the XP and not Vista.

So if you have installed the XP you must update the BIOS to the correct version to get all functions running.
In addition, please follow the installation instructions located on the driver page.

Please install also all MS QFEs. This is very important! And upgrade the XP to the last State.

    Best regards

  • Need driver network for Satellite A100-233

I just did a reinstall of Windows XP Home on a Satellite A100-233 bought in the Middle East. I have downloaded Intel chipset, then looked up some network driver, the only one that I found that I downloaded (zip file) when I opened there was no facility or the executable file.

Can you please post the URL for the network driver and all the other necessary drivers for a new installation?

    Thank you

PS: by the way search gave 0 results whenever I used it.

You n t need any exe file to install the LAN driver.

The LAN driver can be installed via the Device Manager. Here, you just mark the unknown device located in the network controllers and point the installer to the place where the LAN driver files have been decompressed.

    All that s.
