Re: Satellite P200 - no picture DVD playback with the playback of DVD Toshiba Software

Hello

I usually watch DVDs with the Toshiba software that has been bundelled with my P200 I bought last year.
However, the image is no longer displayed.

Sound is OK, as well as the control system, but the real picture is black.
I thought that the player might be at fault but DVD works fine in Windows Media Player.

All are in the correct region and DVD which I played before without a problem.

I have tried rebooting etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Richard

Hello

Have you tried to install the most recent DVD player software or update the old one?
You should do this!

As far as I know the new DVD player tool was released and it s placed on the European driver Toshiba for the download page.

Check it!

Jack Black has posted a link to the document from Toshiba which describes exactly this problem and offers a solution.

The problem can be solved by updating the Realtek Audio driver.
You can download the driver from his most recent on the Realtek site and may reinstall it.

  • Satellite P200 - 1EE HD DVDs - cannot play beyond the language selection

    Hi all

I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite P200-1EE.
However its HD-DVD player would not play a movie HD DVD (Transformers) at all!

When I insert the disk it shows the first screen - language selection Menu
When I choose English or anything else out there it just crashes and beyond would play.

I had the same problem with another disc too.

All the world has experienced the same problem and managed to resolve it?

I went through some of the other solutions given here inculding update to the latest drivers etc, but nothing seems not to help.

Thank you very much - Arvind

    Hello

You should visit the page of the Toshiba driver and need to update the firmware of CD/DVD players and HD Toshiba DVD player software.

    This aid comes of course!

  • Satellite P200 - 1FC: CD/DVD player won't start - error Code 10

My Satellite P200 - 1FC was purchased in January 2008 and preloaded with Vista Home Premium. The DVD/CD drive is listed in the device as "TSST corp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device" Manager.

Initially, the drive worked perfectly, but recently refused to start. Device Manager it shows now with a yellow exclamation point and its status is given as "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ».

By clicking on 'could not load driver software' product solutions but not solution.

The search for similar issues in the forums of users suggests that use of a page of Microsoft Support Help & directed "the CD-ROM drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista".

However it is to change the registry! As a relative novice, I am reluctant to do unless I can find no easier way.

Should I bite the bullet and and enter into this minefield, or is there a better way?

    > At first the car worked perfectly, but recently refused to start. Device Manager it shows now with a yellow exclamation point and its status is given as "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ».

Certainly, this error is caused by an incorrect registry entry.
I had this error several times and I solved this disassembly of these registry keys upper and lower filters:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Here are a few steps how it worked on my Windows system;
-J' removed the Device Manager CD/DVD drive
-Then edited the registry as described above
    -Restarting the laptop

I'm sure that this will also help you.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200-1EE: HD DVD 'Harry Potter' hangs

    Hi all

I just got a new computer "Satellite P200-1EE" eager and got a HD DVD "Harry Potter OOTP" and it hangs just... is sujests I need a firmware update?

I tried to search for a file called firmware update, can anyone point me in the right direction...

OK I bet its simple dead - but I'm everywhere LOL
    Thanks for your help; (o)

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=103921&

Please don t forget a fact; HD DVD technology is very recent, and not all movies have been designed with the same level.
Probably, this could be a reason why the movie Harry Potter HD DVD does not work!

You might try another HD DVD to make sure that the HD DVD drive is not defective.

    A question:
You use the Toshiba HD DVD player?
You could try to update from Toshiba's HD DVD player with the update published on the Qosmio G30.
There is an update of this utility, and the original version must be installed to perform this update!

    Maybe this will help.

  • Satellite P200-1EE does not properly of the HD-DVD play

    Hello

My Satellite P200 - 1EE laptop doesn t play DVD s correctly when the DVD loads up it plays but stops and starts as a 'jump' CD and the dubbing is very bad.
So, I tried the setting on my DVD player program but made no difference at all

I think HD-DVD player is broken.
    Can someone help?

    Hello

I guess you are trying to read HD DVD using the HD DVD from Toshiba player.
    Am I wrong?

So first of all, you should try to update your HD Toshiba DVD player software.
Then, check if the HD-DVD player firmware update is possible.

The two parties, you should find on the European driver Toshiba page!

I noticed that Toshiba updated own HD-DVD player software and that has solved several problems about the HD-DVD playback.

    Good luck & best regards

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 1KE Vista loses contact with the second internal HARD drive

Vista Business SP2. I have a Satellite Pro P200-1KE, with two 160 GB drives: a Hitachi configured as C: (operating system, programs, etc.) and E: (data, other programs). The second is a Toshiba MK1637GSX. This little about it and nothing of any importance and is normally configured as d. Unfortunately this hard drive has now become invisible to Vista, although it is still recognized by BIOS and Device Manager. In managing computer does not appear in the list in the upper pane, it comes without a letter from reader below. I have tried everything I know to get recognized, including the following:
    (In no particular order):

    * Remove computer - managed, reset as a single Volume: it always fails
    * Reformat to NTFS using Linux GParted or utility disk Linux (via a USB stick with Linux ice Peppermint on that nerd), sometimes combined with the restoration of the system - it works, but only for a single session. She always disappears again when you restart
    * Remove the driver from Device Manager and pointing plug-and-play with Windows System 32 and Windows Update - which seems to return the driver - but does not recognized disk, unfortunately
    * Meanwhile, throughout all this, Vista insists on finding a driver for "unknown device" that she sometimes found and (allegedly) installs and sometimes find one fails to install.

    Bah!

Anyone know anything else I can try - preferably without having to reinstall the entire operating system, or run the risk of using Toshiba Hardware Setup that does not seem to come with all the instructions and enigmatic, who wonder if I want to delete stuff 'selected', without showing me what kind of things I am alleged to have selected for removal!

    Best
    David

If this second HDD is not so important to try to start the original installation disk Microsoft (Vista or Win7) to see if the second HDD will be recognized for the installation procedure.
You can also try to install Win7 on this second HDD to see if the installation is correctly finalized. Later, you can check if you can start the second HARD drive preinstalled OS.

Test just to see if this problem is related to Vista only.

  • Satellite P200 - 1FC - CD/DVD does not read discs

I have a Satellite P200 - 1FC ' CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632D ATA Device will not read CDs or DVDs and do not respond. Device Manager shows that this device does not work correctly.

    Can you please help?

    Hello!

Try to remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD, and then restart the laptop. It work?

If this isn't the case, you should try to remove the upper and lower filters:
    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

  • Satellite P200-140-CD/DVD drive does not read the CD

    Hi all

I have a Satellite P200-140. The DVD/CD Player plays all DVDs without problem. However, it does not read CD. A message 'no disc' appears.
I've updated the drivers, cleaned the lens, completed all the normal tasks.

Any advise / solutions out there?

    Hello

Maybe you should try to remove the capital letters and lowerfilters in the registry, because you can often read here in the forum:

    (1) run regedit (Start-Run-Regedit online online)
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

I hope this works for you too! :)

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite P200 - 1FC - what DVD burners are compatible

Toshiba Satellite P200 - 1FC - need advice as what to buy to replace the dvd burner that does not burn.
    So is going to replace.

    Thank you ricky

    Hello

You need a compatible because different master/slave/c-salt settings.
I m not very well what drives could be supported, but in my user manual which was preinstalled on my laptop (unfortunately not P200) I could find a list of compatible drives. Maybe your manual contains a similar list

But if you won't find details of compatible media in you manual user then you may contact the service provider allowed in your country and could order these ODD.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P200 - freeze of Windows 7 with network

Hello, (sorry for my bad English)

    Here's my problem:
I connect to internet wireless or ethernet card.

    Windos 7 freezes:

    (1) when my connection is disconnected and it reconnects or I come out of hibernation
    (2) or when I'm on files shared shared network between my two computers at home
    (3) when I select the network printer.

This problem happens in wifi or direct cable network.
I've not had problems with vista on the same hardware.
Everything else works perfectly on this computer, download, games, music, videos, software, etc...

The latest drivers are made (the last). I did all the tests possible and seen all that I could find on google and this is in vain!

    Laptop Toshiba P200
Card: Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)
    Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network adapt

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

    Look like there is a problem connecting with other devices;
Eventually Windows waits for the answer since the devices on your network, and so it freezes.

Just a question; do you have problems with the internet connection (LAN or WLan).
If this isn't the case, then I guess that the devices are okay and that there must be a problem of windows OS.

    How about driver update?
    You use the latest drivers?
Are you using all the patches and hotfixes from MS?

How about firewall and other security software? Are you sure that these programs do not affect networking?
    Check this box...

  • Satellite P200-having problems of Bluetooth with USB BT dongle

I have a P200-1EE running Vista, with all current updates.
I deleted by mistake my Belkin Mini Bluetooth dongle without disassembling.

Since then, although I can always send requests printing for my C5380, and it prints no problem, I am now an error message saying that the BTTray service will not start.
I tried in vain to connect my Galaxy S mobile to the computer, and I wonder if this is the reason for this?

What I need to download the Toshiba web site to repair this?

    > I have the disk installation for the laptop, if this repairs a damaged installation or he only moved from scratch?
The recovery disk would fix the laptop back to factory settings, that means that your disk should be formatted and all partitions will begin again.

To be honest I have not quite sure what's wrong with the external BT dongle, but the fact is it worked until you remove the dongle before canceling the service m

Usually, this shouldn't be a big problem, but of course, the system has been confusing upward.
You can try together the BONES date back to the time point may start to help this issue allows you to see, but recover disk should be the last option

  • Satellite P200-1EE: HD-DVD player will not work

HD DVD will not work on my new laptop p200 1EE.
I read some of the messages to similar problems, it takes hours to download updates of software, firmware etc.
    Configure without success.

I just received my free HD DVD about 4 days ago and have complained to toshiba.
I can't even drive coming on the screen as a HD DVD toshibas.

I can't get the windows media player.
I want to say that you buy a TV and dvd player and search around for parts to get it to work.
Its ok, the upgrade of software to get additional features on the material, but to make it work even not.

    All of the suggestions.

    Hello

Yes, I think I can help you.

Please update the HD DVD from Toshiba and the firmware of readers!
Two updates are on the European driver Toshiba page!
That s all. There is no magic solution!

HD DVD is a new technology and there are differences between the unique mediums. There are different standards, it seems that this was not known to you

However, the update of the firmware and the HD - DVD Player update helps resolve this issue!

  • Satellite P200 - 123 No Post, but still the boots

    Hello

Have a strange, my old Satellite P200-123 worked extremely hot (70 inactive more than 100 of the load) 2 years so he disassembled and replaced the thermal grease, fans and cleaned. Standard maintenance went well, (apart from the microphone plug disintegrate at the start, but I use headphones so not really a problem).

First boot after the interview I noticed that the screen does not display anything until windows log in screen, no toshiba screen, no post messages, etc. At first, I thought it may have lack of an external port (VGA or HDMI) however I tried to connect to an external device and he still refuses to show anything until the windows log on screen.

I stripped and repaired hundreds of laptops (it's my job) but never encountered this in 15 years of maintenance and repairs PC and laptop. System running Windows 7 (not like it should make a difference) and the used thermal grease was the new Artic MX-3 and served on the GPU, the CPU and the Northbridge (and before someone says you must use the compound of unfounded pressure of toshiba ceramics, stuff I've used here are better for this the toshiba recommended stuff, believe me). The system works well (now idling at 39 and 65 at full load), I guess that's not much of a problem, unless I need to reinstall or restore my machine for some reason, all the world has an idea on how to fix this?

    Very interesting, Jaster! :)
