  If the device is not enough free space, it will start to delete the call logs and emails in order to make room for the new. Check the free space by going to Options | Status and look at the number "no file". If it is close to 0, so that's why.   After an update, I still propose that the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

  Go to your Hub. Click on the left icon below, everything what he could be and select the icon associated with your e-mail account which you want to remove these previous emails.   and then if you send a text message, or make a call, it will stay there for a little while, but then delete again.

  Looks like you are running low on free memory.  Click on Options (icon)-> status and after return to the free file.
