Recieve an error saving manual Flash OCX 0x8002801C

There is a computer in the office who constantly has problems installing Flash Player. The latest version (11.7, xxxxx) seems to have some really tough questions.

The basic background that I have on this machine, is that it was purchased with Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7 Pro (64 bit). There always seems to be a weird kind of permissions problems - the main user of the machine is in the Administrators group and all that IT WORKS is in the account local administrator, but with some things, the it Department is constantly getting questions about permissions.

I have uninstalled Flash, cleaned the registry of unnecessary files, ran the reset_fp11.bat with the SubInAcl.exe. I also checked several registry keys (information from various forums) and all permissions were either (A) not together or (B) together do not allow administrator access.

I also used Process Monitor from Microsoft (ProcMon) to see if I can come up with all the answers... but all I can say is that the c:\windows\system32\tzres.dll file is "locked".

At this point, when I run the shell CMD as administrator and you attempt to register the OCX manually, I get the 0x8002801C error code.

Any ideas?

    How can I get rid of a "Flash ocx" error on my system? I run Windows Vista premium.

    THX,

    Joel

    Hello

    Where do you find that flash ocx error?

    Method 1 : uninstall and reinstall the Flash Player and check if the problem occurs.

    Method 2 : run the clean boot and see if the problem still occurs.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Hope that helps.

  • Error Flash.ocx

    I get an error message when I try to use learning to license software. He tells me that my Windows 7 does not have file Flash.ocx. I've used Firefox, but uninstall today. Still does not work. The same error. This happens because an update has been installed on my computer. I don't know exactly who was to blame, because the FlashPlayer and FireFox updated since I used the last time the software, but I think that the FlashPlayer is to blame, because I had similar problems in the past with her. If you can help me I would be grateful, because I have the license to trial soon and we must solve this rapid.  Thank you!

    Unfortunately, they have no trial version.

    So, I solved my problem. I found a few reviews online and downloaded the legislation, then I'll do it with their program. Thank you.

    original title: Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop - HELP!

    Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista.  Yesterday it froze completely upward and I had to manually close (hold the power button until stop you him) twice.  The second time when I tried to restart the came Toshiba screen, then the screen with the little scroll down bar, and then it went black, waited for a while, then flashes a bluescreen with a written up VERY quickly and cycles back to the Toshiba screen.  This time after the scroll bar it gives me white saying the writing system could not restart, and I want to start normally or startup repair. Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • Flash.ocx required to run the program...
    Hello
    I push myself a little crazy by an error message which began this afternoon.  I use a program called Activstudio and until today it worked fine.  This morning I went to update the flashplayer from adobe on my system and uninstalled the existing adobe products.  Now, I get an error message that says that this version of windows does not have the file flash.ocx that is required to run the program.  I have installed and uninstalled adobe Flash Player and shockwave player on a number of occasions now, I also searched on the net for about 4 hours to try the tips people gave for similar problems.  A good idea to copy the file flash.ocx and rebonding it in the c: windows\system32\macromed\flash folder, but the file flash.ocx does not exist so I can't do that.  I even downloaded the file flash.ocx by himself and place it in the folder, but nothing seems to work...  I don't have the original to the program software CD as it is a program I have given by a school for educational purposes...
    any help would be very welcome because I can't access one of my lessons...
    Nina
    Hi neeny468,
    Try the system restore and verify the result. If this does not help, then you will need to get the software to reinstall the program successfully.
    Step 1: Restore the computer to an earlier time when it was working fine
    a. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    b. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
    c. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    d. click Finish.
    e. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Hello
    From Windows 8 Microsoft embeds Flash Player in the browser.  This includes Windows Server 2012.  For this reason, Microsoft locks the permissions on files to prevent users to erase files.  Microsoft does not provide a standalone installer of Flash Player for IE/Edge on these platforms and all updates from Microsoft via Windows Update.  By force to unlock the file and forcing the removal of the file you probably made your system unable to re - install Flash Player because there is no separate standalone installer for Flash Player on Windows Server 2012.  If you do not need Flash Player on this system, which is not a problem.  But if you need Flash Player on this system, you can, or can be not, be able to reinstall it.
  • "This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.
    First , Thanks for stopping help.
    I am installing swiff player (so I can add a .swf to my Microsoft Powerpoint conference), but Swiff Player gives error:
    "This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.
    An online search has been unsuccessful.
    Reset IE does not work.
    I have Windows 7 32 bit and I have installed (just today), Flash Player and Shockwave Player.
    This next paragraph may or may not help (but is probably too much info):
    It was working before I had to reinstall windows. They have also improved my office at Office15 (how it shows in Program Files), kind of Powerpoint has been updated (from my previous one which was of Office 2010. What I'm trying to do here, is to add a .swf as my 1st opening in my powerpoint slide. I noticed that it is 'there', but is no longer autoplays and right-click on swf placeholder (from when I had placed it in this file years ago), no longer displays things like 'properties' where I used to have such characteristics as the loop/play immediately... I remember you had right click this space reserved flash (I had used SWIFF PLAYER to add it before) and then go down to "loop"... but that maybe older info too - just in case it's useful). So, anyway, due to the restructuring of Windows, I noticed that this slide 1st plays automatically on opening. Therefore, I myself remember I had to also reinstall Swiff Player that I did today, and then encountered this error flash.ocx above.
    THANKS if you can help and above all, thank you for your solutions.
    That you use in a safety device in the current versions of the office.  Content Flash is click-to-play in office documents.  Unfortunately, one of the main vectors of infection of malicious software inside corporate networks was end users clicking on legitimate-looking office with the plug-in embedded content documents.  To mitigate this risk of infection, content incorporated as SWFs are click-to-play. If it were possible to bypass security dialog boxes, they would not provide a valid defense against this attack vector.
    There is a guide on the side of Microsoft support on the integration of videos directly in your presentation:
    Insert the video in your presentation - PowerPoint
    If you're looking to see a simple Flash animation, you are probably best to convert to video.  You can do this directly from Flash Professional, as long as you have the original files from the source (.fla).   If you do not have the .fla, you could do the hacky thing and use a screenshot as Adobe Captivate utility / Camtasia Studio / etc - to make a video recording of the animation playing on the local computer.
    If you are looking to integrate a complex interactive element based on Flash in the document, then, you should probably think to place these items on a Web site and bind it to the powerpoint presentation.  In my opinion, it would be preferable to move away from this use case than to train your students to ignore the Security dialog boxes that really do provide significant barriers to potential attackers.
    I have a flash downloaded on my desktop game. He worked before so I know that there is a solution, but I forgot it in time, that I deleted it then returned to him now. Whenever I try to play, being administrator or not, I get the same error message.
    This program requires a component missing Windows
    Looking for a solution on the Microsoft Web site. If a solution is available, there will be steps taken to resolve the problem.
    (Game details here.)
    This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.
    I googled on how to solve this problem, it has been uninstall Flash completely and reinstalling from the ground upward. I just did this and nothing has changed. I've also seen to download the .ocx himself and place it in the folder of the game who needs them, that has not changed anything.
    Help?
    Also, if I asked this before and you will remember me, sorry. I didn't not favorite the other thread and forgot.
    I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and trying to install a game that requires flash.ocx.  I get an error saying that "this program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.  I tried to uninstall/reinstall instructions several times without success.  The only files I have in my folder C:/windows/system32/c:\windows\system32\macromed/flash is:
    FlashInstall.txt
    Flashplayer.XPT
    FlashUtil10I_Plugin
    Npswf32.dll
    This is after several relocations.  How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you!
    Hi, you need to install Flash Player in the browser Internet Explorer. Go here and download and SAVE the installer EXE on your desktop:
    http://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
    Close all the browser windows, disable all Messenger services in the tray (area near the clock) disable your anti-virus if it is Norton or McAfee. Disable anti-virus addons in the IE browser if none until after public Service is installed successfully.
    When finished installing, Reboot (restart) your computer.
    Don't forget to use the administrator account.
    Test here with your Internet Explorer browser:
    http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/
    You should see the logo Flash animate (spin) and you will see the version of FP.
    Don't forget to look in tools, Manage addons under 'Show' in all the addons for Shockwave Flash Object, which should be listed, Enabled.
  • Could not find the file "flash.ocx".
    Hello
    I am running IE8 WinVista 32-bit with Adobe Flash WIN 10,1,82,76.  I downloaded the updates to Adobe a couple of days and I'm now receive this annoying error code in a little white box that appears to the top about every 30 minutes: "cannot find the file"flash.ocx".
    Add it is activated.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the program, does not.  No idea how to eliminate this annoying little error code?  Player flash itself does not seem to be affected by the error, it's just my brain which is totally bored.  I've read through the forums and cannot find a solution that works for me.  I also read that I should post my own thread, so here it is.  Any help will be appreciated.
    Hi, so he's back. I do not know how to disable just add it on would not allow the screen saver work. Is this add on an Active X Control? And is there more than one add on there related?
    When the control to add ons with IE8, be sure to check the 'Show' and the use drop down arrow and look for all the 4 categories, in addition to the toolbars & Extensions.
    Do not forget that you had to add it on after you deactivated yesterday and it worked at the time of your post for 3 hours and no pop up. What I was asking is whether to use the screensaver, simply disable that add on after you restart the morning and then turn it back on.  It would be interesting to try.
    Thanks for the update.
