Recovery disk - Inspiron N4010

As I had two laptops Inspiron N4010 at home, but now I want to do a reformat to one of my laptop. However, I'm not sure if the reformat drive belongs to what laptop. Is the disc can be used in two laptops or only specific disk can be used by mobile specific?

Thank you.

The discs are specific to the model but no specific system - can be used with each system.

I created by the user recovery disks.  I created them the day I got the computer and he made three of them.  My brother has deleted my recovery partition just now.  My question is, if I resumed my Inspiron 15 3521 using three recovery disks that I created, be it recreate the recovery partition in the process?   I just need an answer to this question, not responses indicating that, if I have the disks, I don't need the recovery partition, why would I want the recovery partition if I have the drive, etc.  I would like to just a simple answer to the question.  If I use the recovery discs, it will recreate the partition recovery with all the info, she was in it when I got to the computer?  Once the recovery is completed from disks, will be that recovery partition be there as the day I got the computer, so if I wanted to (I don't want to, but I'm just a question) I could still create the recovery of her discs?  Basically, the computer will be exactly as it was the day I got it home, recover partition and everything?  Or, it will restore the computer to the new plant, but not to re-create the recovery partition with everything she had in it the day I got it?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will be if you select the correct option.

  • DELL INSPIRON N4010 WEBCAM QUESTIONS: PLEASE HELP... DELL CUSTOMER... AND ANYONE WHO HAS KNOWLEDGE REGARDING MY PROBLEMS...

    I have a Dell Inspiron N4010. Configuration: 1st generation i5 processor with windows 7 home basic 64-bit.

3 months after the purchase of my laptop, I have updated my Dell webcam central through the applications update service... Shortly after the update, my integrated webcam has started to show problems.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM:

Shortly after the update of my installed factory Dell webcam central, my integrated webcam has begun to show the problem. webcam was able to start with any application such as Skype or dell central webcam himself. Instead, webcam LED flashes for flicker of a second, and then goes away without any streaming video.  Trying to open it, an error message is displayed: "your webcam can be used by another application. Close the application to launch streaming video".» Initially, the problem was temporary, that is occasionally the webcam began video streaming without any problem, but as the time passed, webcam stopped working almost completely.

    TRIED SOLUTIONS:

I tried all the solutions mentioned below:

    • I uninstalled the Dell webcam software and reinstalled with the version installed in the factory, supplied on CD with laptop. Uninstalled the webcam via the Device Manager and reinstalled, but without success.
    • I heard that there is a conflict between the Dell face recognition software and dell webcam central. So, I uninstalled the dell face recognition software. After that, the webcam worked for a few days, and there still rebooted problem.
    • I went through various forums online, dell community, customer service, etc. and everything suggested tried but without success. I heard several times that this is not a hardware fault but driver error. Even in a few forums, its says that Creative Technology Limited have not been able to supply webcam drivers compatible with windows 7 64-bit.
    • I even did factory restore my laptop twice, but could not do my webcam works.
    • Then, I decided to format my system and installed windows7 again with the disc that came with my laptop. During this process, I have kept the recovery drive and the untouched OEM disk untouched. I have reinstalled all the drivers in such order as advised by Dell. Despite puts everything in order, I couldn't do my built-in webcam work. More... now I can't even access the Dell factory restore option despite the fact that my recovery disk is intact and it is to have all the files into it!
    • I tried the utility dell online Diagnostics. He could not detect any error webcam!
    • Few days back, I used the dell startup screen diagnostic utility and scanned the built-in webcam to find errors, and my webcam failed in all tests! Here are the screenshots of the tests:

I GUESS I GAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION THAT CAN HELP TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WITH MY DELL INTEGRATED WEBCAM... I ASKED DELL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HELP ME SOLVE MY PROBLEM OF WEBCAM... AND ALSO THE FACTORY RESTORE INACCESSIBILITY PROBLEM... PLEASE HELP ME...

AFTER AN ENTIRE WEEK OF UNINSTALLING - REINSTALLING VARIOUS DRIVERS & SOFTWARE FOUND IN THESE FORUMS, SUGGESTIONS INCLUDING REINSTALLING WINDOWS FROM DELL DATA SECURE BACKUP.  THIS IS WHAT I LEARNED.

My problem was. No supported webcam not connected when I ran dell webcam central. No program could access the webcam. Device Manager showed SPECIFIC DEVICE. Camera suddenly stopped working! I had a little more hair when this problem started.

I have Inspiron N4010 windows 7 Home premium. Are the drivers for the webcam in windows 7, there is no separate drivers available anywhere. with the exception of some XPS models.

A post in these forums suggests to abolish the plastic around the display bezel. It's simple. Just carefully go around and remove. It is clipped without screws on my system. This gives access to the webcam hardware. I got dell webcam central on-board. (showing no supported webcam connected!). Gently, I tried to disconnect the connector of the webcam. My intention was to disconnect and reconnect. I barely touched and the fire came and windows immediately started to install device drivers. A beep and an icon in the notification bar popped up. A few minutes, I saw my beautiful mug on the screen to my absolute delight.

Guys, if you have a problem where Device Manager does not recognize your webcam for most probably, this is a hardware problem. The small rectangular plate on which is mounted the webcam is not properly secured by DEll. It is a DESIGN PROBLEM. The Board is located in place on two small round plastic holders without any screws. It can move easily. The bezel plastic when it is installed itself that holds it in place, but not very effective. When you open and close the lid of the screen, especially if you are taking in the middle where the camera you finally loose connector. That's why some messages will tell you what they camera has stopped working suddenly and then started working by himself all of a sudden. When I put the bezel plastic, it snaps into place, I was able to move the camera, and it stopped working again. A little gentle jiggle got running again and its been since.

It does not matter what version of central webcam you have in windows 7. It runs on windows Vista service pack 2 compatibility mode. (Find WEBCAMDELL2. EXE file under programs x 86-dellwebcam-dellwebcam Central-dell webcam central. Right-click on the file name. Select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and run this program in compatibility select windows vista service pack 2).

Hope this post helps someone. May work on other systems too! Good luck! and thank you to the guy who led me down this path and misery!

  • Using recovery disks (windows 8.1) to re-install on a replacement hard drive

Hello, I just ordered a DELL Inspiron 3000 desktop computer. I read that DELL power supply is no longer reinstallation DVD.  What happens when (if) the hard drive in the new PC goes wrong? Could I then form a new hard drive in my machine and use recovery disks (which I'd as soon as the PC happens with DELL to the top and recovery) to reinstall everything on this new hard drive? That's how would this work?

    Thank you

    Dominocat

It's a ridiculous bunch of B.S. should not have to ask a recovery media for a system they bought which comes with the ability to make its own recovery media. I used the USB Flash method and the DVD I did when I bought the PC, and none of them works. Never do an option to install Windows. Refresh PC and PC Reset are just as useless when told your recovery media is not "valid". If I had my Windows product key that I have just to run Windows Setup, enter the key and be on my way.

I tried to use the application form to request the media with Dell, but because I am out of warranty web page just a loop and does not always actually apply. It seems that I might have to call Dell technical support and pay by the minute (cell phone), while it is pending. Even the Support email link disappears once the warranty expires. Thank you, Dell. Appreciate the help.

I think part of the problem is that the PC came with Windows 8 (so then the recovery DVDs were made) and since then I've upgraded to 8.1 making it "invalid". But this does not explain the new recovery USB support flash a few moments I did there are that still does not work for 'Refresh' or 'Reset' to my PC. It indicates that lack of recovery files. Should not have checked everything while bringing the recovery media?

At this point, I have now downloaded the free version of Reflect and use to clone the old hard drive before he finally died, and I hope it will work. Good luck to all.

  • What card SD size should I expect create a recovery disk?

I just bought an inspiron 11 3000 series 2-in-1 for my son to school.

God knows, it will probably load tons of stuff on him that will finally it slow down for analysis and I will need to freshen up before the road of the school year.  So, I want to create a system for her drive until it begins to use it and I want to use a cool map only for that, so I can keep them safe and not have it used for something else.

What is the size of a disk I need create this recovery disk and system?  I used to use only the old CD, but it was at the time where I really was just reinstall the generic Windows and don't care about the drivers and others for my desktop PC.  I want to keep his laptop pretty much OEM factory to make our lives a little easier in the long run.

A 8 GB would be plenty for this?

    Thank you

This flash drive will be dedicated to the backup, if anything more than 16G is wasted. 64G may be a best value in general, but in this case, I recommend the thumb drive 16G cheaper than you can find, and I would also like to make two just to be sure.

  • Install windows 8 using recovery disk Windows 7

    I have a dell inspiron 15r turbo's (7520) with 8 windows pre installed.

I'm a big fan of Windows 7 rather than Windows 8 so I would completely remove windows 8 and install windows 7 ultimate cost.

My problem is now that in the future if I want to install windows 8 then the recovery disc will help me do? Please help me.

The recovery disk does not contain the operating system. It allows you to access the hard disk recovery partition. If you install another operating system that usually makes the useless recovery partition. You cannot use the recovery disk to install windows 8 after installing another OS... If you have used Dell backup and restore, you may have other options if you chose to copy the recovery partition from the factory to the USB key. Start to the recovery flash drive and see what you can do. You can test out without actually reinstalling anything.

To reinstall windows 8 you probably will have to ask Dell discs:

  • How to uninstall Windows 7 from the recovery disk?

By mistake, I installed Windows 7 on the recovery disk. I have only windows 7 installed on my Dell Inspiron. However, it is now a multi-boot, as Windows 7 is stored on the operating system and the recovery drive. How delete/uninstall Windows 7 from the recovery drive (more free space on it is exhausted). I already tried to 'Format' and 'Remove the Volume' in the disk management page, but the options are grayed out and I can't access it.

It's probably that you managed to install on the Dell recovery disk victory because it would be too small.

Open the recovery partition in Explorer to view the files.

Use msconfig to remove incorrect boot entry

  • Bought the new model of HP m8530f... impossible to create the recovery disk?

Bought above the pc about 3 months... still new to all this, I'm just a simple user of office applications and surfing.  Fallen on the disk recovery and reading that you can create your own recovery disk or the order of HP.

Once again, the pc brand new.  I was all order from HP, but saw wanted to try to do it myself and save $20.  I followed the steps, arrived at Recovery Disc Creator, the moment where I click Next I get an error like this:

"A recovery disk set was created for this pc. That one game is allowed per pc.

WTF?  It was brand new, out of the box!

All this experience?  I really don't want to pay HP $20 when I can make myself at home.  However I can not because as the "already created recovery disc?

    What can I do?

I was able to connect and discuss with a representative of HP.  They have made an exception and will betray me a free recovery disk!

Now, that's service! That means a LOT to me!

Thanks for your suggestion to CherylG!  I have not found this file, that you suggested... and not an expert to change the extensions of file... so don't go any further!

  • EliteBook 850 G2: SimplePass absent of the software recovery disk

    Hello

First of all, I don't know if I post the question in the right place, and I apologize if I'm not.

I bought the laptop with windows 7 and received two CDs with it, one for install windows 10 and the other to re - install the software that came with the computer.

I used a program before moving on to Windows 10 * that has been activated with my finger, saved my passwords, and I was able to connect to my windows with the fingerprint account.

After the upgrade to windows 10 and install all of the software contained in the software recovery disk, I can't find this program.

This software should come in the recovery disk? Why is it missing? How can I get that again?

    * which I'm not 100% sure it was SimplePass

  • Satellite A500 - problems with the creation of recovery disks

    Hello
I bought a Satellite A500 yesterday and now I'm trying to create the recovery discs before anything else.
However, towards the end of the 1st DVD I get an error message saying "Faile dto open the next file. e:\Boot\BCD (0201123-F1-00000000 error code)"and then when I click 'OK', the DVD is ejected giving a message"unable to create recovery 1' media. Physical examination, I noticed that the DVD is written almost entirely.

Any advise on this? In addition, in the interface, it shows a USB option and says to insert a USB media with more than 7 GB of free. That I can use it to create the recovery disk? If Yes, when I reinstall windows 7, this allows as a bootable drive?

Greately appreciate any help on this matter. If it is defective, I want to return as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you
    Mercier.

As far as I know, that you can not use external device for recovery, it is therefore very important create recovery DVDs.

Try to create the recovery disk using only DVD-R media. Use high quality media like TDK or Verbatim.
Last month, I've created on the Satellite A500-157 recovery discs and everything went well.

  • Satellite Pro C660-1LR - new HARD drive but no recovery disk

I need help for my son who is the Satellite Pro C660 1LR laptop.

In this portable hard drive is completely dead, I have not created a disk of recovery for this system of portable computers.
I bought a new hard drive that is installed... However, as you guessed it I have no access to reinstall an OS, this laptop works on windows 7.

I'm not really tech savvy so if someone can advise me please do explain to the fool proof format! I try to avoid having to buy something expensive.

    > I'm trying to avoid having to buy something expensive.
Problem is that you don't have many options in this regard.
If you want to have the factory again settings you must install recovery disc. You can order on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx of course is not free, but, in my opinion, without a doubt the best solution.

You can buy the Microsoft installation disc and install the clean version. You must purchase a valid license for it.
In this case, you must install all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities for more than one by one.

Just in case you can get this installation of Microsoft and the free license you can save money.

Believe me, the best solution is the original recovery disk command.
