Recovery drive stalls on blue screen

I have a desktop HPE-180 t. The C drive in it gradually impossible where it won't start now. I have a 3 disc set recovery. I tried to restore from that - but it's just a blue screen with a white top, as if you were under water and looking upward to the sky. The mouse moves, but nothing else happens. We also tried to use the button to do the restoration of system Z boot drive partition. The system does exactly the same thing. It shows that even for the most-blue screen.

No idea why the two recovery options give exactly the same problem?

I have a new empty drive in there that I'm hoping to restore. For example, I don't want to destroy my existing C drive when we do this.

Hello

Turn the power on, press F10 to enter BIOS mode, go to the Diagnostics and run memory and Hard Drive test if a test fails, you will need to replace the part.

I understand that you have a failed graphics card that overcame you by turning off that one and using the integrated card, when you tried to perform a recovery, that he had failed as a result of the card, recovery won't work due to the fact that it tests the equipment prior to installation and of course it will detect the problem.  I don't know, but after talking with a colleague, you should be able to install from a disk of Windows, but I am not sure. You may be able to download Windows from the web, if this is not possible, it would be probably more cost-effective to replace Notepad.

    Hi, Stan:

Only, you should be able to change the drive letter using disk management tool in windows 7.

See the link below for how to do this.

I don't think that changing the drive letter should have an effect on the files on that partition.

'Install the driver software for device' => BSOD (WD My Book World Edition II network storage)

    Hello

I have WD My Book World edition II network storage and it worked fine with my Vista Home Premium (64 bit) beyond six months, I got it.

Months ago I have access from explorers file search 'network '.  During this point Vista asked me something like "want to install you the drivers for this device? I pressed No. because previously there has been no need to install anything. After that Vista has asked same question whenever I start my computer. Annoyed by the same query I finally pressed Yes. Then it started to install drivers and I had blue screen.

Now whenever I start my computer (if my storage network is turned on) vista begins to install the drivers and accidents. End result is that I can't use my network storage.

No idea how to solve this problem (without formatting and reinstalling vista)?

    Hello

the cause of the accident is the driver:

    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\mrdd.sys
    Image name: mrdd.sys
    Timestamp: Wed Nov 12 07:44:48 2008

From what I see the pilot belongs to your driver SATA of Marvel . As you can see that the driver is a bit too old. Update the driver, please.

    Hi Anna K.

When you encounter a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) in Windows, the computer saves information about the error message in a log file. This log file or minidump file is saved in the subdirectory of Windows Minidump (C:\Windows\MiniDump). Generally the information stored in the minidump file can help identify the cause of the blue screen error message and help you solve the problem.

For more information on the reading of the memory dump files, see the following article:

    See also:

If you don't have any service pack (SP) installed, please consult you may receive an error message "Stop 0x0000007E" after you enable the BitLocker Drive Encryption feature in Windows Vista

  • CD/DVD drive, causing the Blue Screen of Death stop

Software from CD/DVD in my Dimension E510 desktop seems to be the dreaded blue screen shut downs - usually as a CD is ejected. The web page error analysis Windows that appears after that restart indicates the problem is caused by a resulting driver. It's the Sonic Digital Media software provided on the system, but sometimes when I run the program I get a warning message saying that the software is not an approved final version? I would like to uninstall the Sonic CD/DVD software which seems to be the cause of the problem and replace it. This will probably solve the problem of the "blue screen", and which would be a recommended CD/DVD operating system that would be compatible with my system. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Dell XPS 420 with Vista Home Premium, replaced the hard drive, download now blue screen errors

My girlfriend has a desktop Dell XPS 420 quit working a year or 2 ago. A computer technician told me that it sounded as if the hard drive was bad, recently I purchased from Dell, a Seagate 1 TB hard drive (the original is a Western Digital 320 GB).

I bought also, once again from Dell, a copy of its installation discs for Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

I installed the new hard drive, correctly, as far as I can tell, but I tried several times over the past days to install Vista and a few times I got errors (BSoD) STOP and a few other times, Windows Installer errors.

    What's wrong?

I run Dell diagnostics that took almost a whole day, but I don't think anything. I have not partitioned the hard drive, it's like 931 GB.

I think that may be something related to the RAM, but I'm not sure.

  • Registry problems cause hard disk by clicking on, then blue screen

Dell support said the clicking hard drive and next blue screen is caused by a registry error. In order to solve a problem of major virus and start over, I have completely reformatted the hard drive and installed the operating system and other programs, so I can't understand why I always have a registry problem.  Although I can not specify the exact moment, it seems to happen after an update of Windows, but also occurs at random.  It would also be the installation of MS Office 2010, because I do not remember what happens before the 2010 Windows Installer.  I read that registry cleaners do not work, so I am at a loss for what to do. What I don't understand is how the registry is damaged when all that I've done is install everything from scratch.  I have a Dell Dimension 5100 running Windows XP Home Edition w/SP3.

    Hi LiveToFish,

    1. What is the problem on the computer after reinstalling Windows?

    2. don't you still get the errors blue screen on the computer? If so, then what is the message on the blue screen?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
