Recovery USB disk does not

Had some problems with my dv6693, downloaded this app HP to make a recovery USB drive, he SAID it was completed successfully and I couldn't do any DVD so I thought, he MUST be. I tried on the original hard drive and it went into the "loading software" but asked me for a password. I tried the password I knew, but they won't. I thought maybe it was something to do with the passwords of user profiles put my trust in HP!

I thought that I would share that original HD for a 320 GB I have been a HP of the same vintage.

* Thanks to the problem of welding HP had with these motherboards I'll have to scrap this one... never mind, it was a beautiful unit too! I miss not having HDMI out (I should mention that I toured with the stack of quarters and resoldered it, reworked video! but there was a "humming" noise so I cut my losses) *.

Taken from the hard drive, installed in it that works, tried to use the USB key recovery I did the software HP that I downloaded and used last night, you know, one that has been "SUCCESSFUL" and NOTHING! Now I don't know how to do it running

I went into the BIOS, set it so that it starts the USB floppy drive and a USB drive before the HARD drive is internal. The light is on the USB, but then a little time after the windows starts HDD.

Does anyone know how to confirm the recovery is good on my USB key/stick, whatever you want to call it? and if it's not am I now fuck because I can't do a set of disks?

I heard there is no way to do another once to define, but there SHOULD be when he wasn't our fault if it does not work? It was software HPs that I used and it said it was successful.

Can use a helping hand when someone is done with Christmas gifts!

Rob

To enable a recovery DVD burning, delete the following two files:

  • c:\windows\sminst\hpcd.sys
  • d:\hpcd.sys

You can also use the command here file. Right click and save. Then click on how it works. Don't forget to restart after two processes. (Yes, I used this process)

  • Recovery USB disk is not bootable

    Hello

With HP Recovery Manager, I created a recovery USB disk. FWIW, on a SDHC card that is connected via a USB card reader. Verification of the media after creation of Recovery Manager would have as much success. However, the disc seems to be not not bootable. Another bootable SD card I have (with stock image Windows on them) starts very well through the same USB card reader.

What I did wrong, and what are my other options?

    P. S.
By pressing F11 (with attached USB recovery disk) does not work on startup as well: a regular OS from the HARD internal disk boot is started. Although, I don't know if the F11 is supposed to work now - the recovery partition I already deleted, via the Recovery Manager itself.

    Thank you
    Konstantin

    Hello

I contacted HP Support to request for a media alertnate recovery disk as described in their documentation. Contrary to their claim that they keep the versions of recovery media for this event - I was told that they do not provide these media recovery media.

So I did the next best thing - downloaded a utility called TestDisk. After review of my USB - it seems that everything is in place (she spends the creation of media after all verification stage). The partition is marked primary and Bootable. However, I suspect that the MBR was not written. What else is there to conclude if the disc does not start - so I used the MBR version provided by TestDisk - and walah - disk can start now.

  • Toshiba Recovery - 2nd disk does not work

    Hi all

I wanted to recover my original Windows I created 2 DVDs when I bought the laptop.
the first DVD worked OK and erased everything, so he will not read my second DVD although it seems in good condition for me and can be read on other devices.

is there a way I can recover my original windows?

I tried pressing 0 at startup but no use.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

It is a very bad situation now. All you can do is try again. Make the second DVD clean and try again.
I really hope that it works somehow. If this isn't the case, you have a big problem.

Before recovery image installation starts any HARD drive will be formatted so there is no chance to start installation of disk recovery HARD from the HARD disk (using 0 at startup).

  • Acer Aspire M5 w/Windows 8 - e recovery system disk does not start

My M5 of Acer one-year-old has failed and now I have a blue screen that says "the Boot Configuration data file is missing some required information, File: \BCD, error code: 0xc000000d.» I ordered an e recovery disk that was supposed to solve the problem. The instructions say "Insert system disk labeled disk," "restart the computer and press F12...» "When I do this, the tracks of the disk of the system for a minute or two, stops, and a minute later the laptop stops. I don't think the system disk is accessible to all. My Acer is two months out of warranty... it's so frustrating. The advice is much appreciated!

Just an update... Blayn was very helpful and directed me to the Acer support. The problem has been resolved by directing the bios to boot from the hard drive instead of the hard drive. It was a little difficult to achieve... I couldn't have done it without the excellent guidance and support from Acer. My Acer has worked very well since, and I appreciate help in this forum!

  • HP ENVY 17 - 1190nr l 3D: recovery disks does not not for HP Envy 17 - 1190nr

My main HARD drive died. Toshiba 500 GB MK5056GSY was the 'C' drive factory installed. The laptop also has a "D" drive, which was the same exact brand, model and size.  (secondary HARD disk does not work at all. Long story, but I think it is a driver or a hardware problem with the motherboard)

I overwhelmed the secondary HDD at the location main, reformatted and reinstalled the operating system with the set of recovery DVD 7, SUCCUSSFULLY disks.  But, since I can't have a second HD to wor, I decided to spend the primary HARD disk capacity, so I installed a Seagate 1 TB HARD drive.  Now, I have reinstalled the operating system using the recovery discs 7 DVD and when the 7th finished disc, a window open warning that says "Recovery manager cannot restore your computer using the original image. "Please contact the HP support (Yes right, it's a joke) error code: 0xe0ef000e.

I also tried to install the operating system with the recovery of a 240 GB SSD disks. Same question.

BUT, the original secondary drive allows the operating system recovery 7 DVD image reset goes to work.

    WHY?

Finally, if I install a stand alone Windows 7 OS for the new Seagate 1 TB drive, it works fine.  The problem is that all additional drivers, programs etc. provided with the laptop originally are net, just a light version of Windows 7. The works of the OS, but the wireless, the blueetooth, readers of cards, etc. do not work. And missing a few programs that comes with the original image (some are too expensive to buy when I wouldn't need it again).

Thanks for any idea on this issue.

  • Satellite L300 - Vista - Touchpad and USB mouse does not.

    Hello

Well well after hours of trying allsorts, I post here...

Been given the laptop for repair as the touchpad no longer. No problem "I thought", simply plug a mouse usb to help me get around and re - install the touchpad... what a joke.

On the right, the USB mouse is recognized as a hid device and work, according to the Manager of devices, but not when you move it... nothing...
The Touchpad is listed as a Synaptics ps/2 touchpad and signals a Code 10 in section mouse device as well as listed as a hid and fully functional usb mouse Manager.

    Right... I have...
Listed all devices, even the hidden nonpresent (devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices) and removed everything only account of any mouse, keyboards, etc...
uninstalled the software synaptics via the program Panel.
Restarted the laptop, and it starts with the touchpad is ranked again code 10 with the version of windows drivers.
Drivers up to date using two different files of Toshiba for the touchpad, still Code 10
Still, the USB mouse does not either.

Someone enlighten me please on a fix for this...

    Hello

Really strange what s my friend because normally a touchpad driver update should solve the problem.

In any case, have you ever tried to use the Toshiba Recovery disk? Maybe it s just a software problem and a few important Windows files are destroyed or don t work properly. Reinstall Windows using the recovery disk Toshiba takes only a few minutes and there are already all the drivers and tools integrated. With these parameters (factory settings), the touchpad should work properly, and if not the touchpad or the motherboard needs to be replaced maybe.

    Good bye

  • Creating recovery USB disk

I'm doing the recovery usb disk and it will not be exceeded the stadium to choose between creating DVD or usb drive.  I use a new usb key.

    Hello

It may be down to the type of flash player, you have.

If the flash drive is listed as "Windows compatible 8" may not be used - the reason is that the creation of HP recovery media software is seeking a device marked Win 8 compatible show as internal drives flash drives and external .

In the example below, the 32 Gb flash drive USB 'Dave G' shows as a drive hard internal who can not be used, while the USB flash drive "Removable disc H" would work.

    Kind regards

  • Windows 8 How to recover without a recovery USB disk or a disc?

Hello, about a month ago, I rebooted my computer in windows 8, caused by viruses, and I did it without creating a recovery on a USB drive. Also, I bought the computer from best buy so I have not received a disc of 8 recovery of 64-bit Windows is restarted. Trying to repair and restart, the computer turns on, but head to the blue menu screen and tells me that I am missing the drivers. Is it possible that I can download a recovery on a different computer from windows disk 8 and use it to mine? If this does not work, is there a way to download a recovery on the windows site drive? Thanks I hope you can answer my questions.

Most computers come with an internal partition on them with the recovery information.  This allows you to go back to "factory fresh" conditions, as a new installation.

How to go to you it's different on different computers.  My Sony Vaio all-in-one PC that I got from BestBuy last year with Windows 8, has a small pin hole I have to press with a paper clip to enter recovery mode.

If this does not work (or your computer does not have this option), you will need a recovery disk.  The recovery discs are unique to the computer, so you should get from the manufacturer.

I helped a friend a few weeks ago and Dell sent him a DVD disc of free recovery, the next day Fed - ex.  But my Sony Vaio here, (which just returned after the internal hard drive field itself of pasta), Sony wanted me to pay 60 million dollars for a CD. I can't use anyway because this computer has no CD drive (then they were told to go buy a lol... but that's another story).

My recommendation or you is so ask the manufacturer or get with BestBuy.  In my case, because the computer has been less than a year when this Vaio hard drive died, BestBuy geek squad made replacement under warranty on it for me, free.  I had no recovery either by car (although it would not have helped because the internal hard disk was physically dead).

When I came back today, do you think better :), I created a recovery USB disk

  • Recovery Media Creator does not work.

My recovery media creator does not work. Its shows that 'no disk HARD recovery area '.
What to do to achieve a recovery of HARD drive space?

The message on the screen says: no HDD Recovery area

This means that the recovery media creator software is unable to find image files stored on the HARD drive recovery partition.
    Why?
There are different reasons for this...

One of the reasons could be the missing HARD drive recovery partition or files (image files) have been deleted...

  • Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator does not work on my Satellite P300

    Hello

I need to make my drive recovery for my Satellite P300 (PSPCCA-05V01Y), but the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator does not work, as it is said that it is not a file on the pc HARD drive recovery.
I tried before, and he had a problem with the core files, saying he was corrupt.
So I was wondering if there is in any case I can download the installation of HARD drive recovery so that I can install and put it back to "factory condition" and reburn the recovery disk?
    Cheers for any help
    Mikey

    Hello Mikey

The situation is quite complicated. When you've got your laptop recovery files was recorded on the second partition in folder HDDRecovery. The second partition and backup files should not be modified.

If you did something with the second partition or this file recovery Toshiba creator cannot find these files and the recovery media cannot be created. This will work with the factory only settings. but I see another problem there.
Theoretically, you can now install new OS using the installation procedure of recovery HARD drive and with factory State, you should be able to create DVDs, but if the Toshiba Recovery creator can not find the files I'm afraid that the installation of HARD drive recovery can have the same problem.

If you want you can test. Try to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.

Ethernet USB adapter does not work after update to mac sierra.

Please solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE

    Hello guatamshah,

If your USB to ethernet adapter does not work now that you have upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, there are a number of things we can try to get it working again.

The first thing we want to do is to reset the SMC and the NVRAM on your Mac.

If the adapter is not still work after only two resets check to see if your Mac recognizes the device properly in the information system. In the Apple Menu, choose about this Mac, and then click the button 'system report... '. ». Once you have the window open system information, see the USB category on the left.

However, if you do not see the device in system information, you may need to verify that network service appears correctly. In the Apple menu, choose system then Network preferences. You should see an entry similar to "Ethernet" on the left. If no, see the steps in the article below to add. Once add, test to see if your connection works with a disabled Wi - Fi connection.
