(Redirected) T5810 - Configuration of HDD / Expansion

Does anyone know the configuration specific to the hard drive bays T5810 with respect to the total capacity of the disks 2.5 and 3.5? Sale and manual doc is a bit ambiguous.  Plan would be to order with a G 256 SSD as boot drive, then add an additional 480 G SSD, plus 1-2 3.5 "drives of the machine spinning it would replace.  What I think, based on what I see, is the berries can accommodate up to 4 drives, either 2.5 or 3.5, but the specs say 2 3.5 drive bays only... Looks like one of the optical bays can be used for additional disk drives, but referred to an "adapter" (reference?)  . Told me the total, based on slots SATA on the MB, is 4. I won't order the raid card, so...

Also, if ordered with 1 single drive, the SATA and present for the full expansion of power connectors? It does not allow to order a configuration for 4 hard drives without buying 4 hard drives... bad luck it's true...

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance...

  • Portege M700 - Ultra Slim Selectbay HDD expansion?

    Hello

I tried for a while to buy an adapter for my Ultra Slim Selectbay HDD in my M700-139. I can't find a buy in the United Kingdom who said that it is compatible with the M700.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy an adapter for this Bay - and if you can, any idea where to buy from?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    I found this:
    http://www.shopbot.com.au/pp-Toshiba-slim-SelectBay-HDD-adaptor-pa3408u-2etc-price-93894-3626292.html

But look, man. all compatible parts and Portege M700 supported parts can be ordered from the ASP in your country.

Maybe contact the guys then you would ask this adapter.

  • k410 hdd expansion

Hello. I am about to receive a brand new k410 lenovo as beginning of this anniversary to my parents to replace a worn on asus and just wondering if the k410 has a capacity of an ssd to climb?

What I want to do is to install a secondary ssd for ability to dual boot on windows 7 with storage game to increase the already massive 2 terrabytes that the Office has

This main card that has the ability to expanasion like its big brother the k330?

    Hi prowlus,

    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

The K410 Lenovo has an optional mSATA to card converter SATA you can insert an mSATA SSD (see spoiler). Open your chassis (refer to page 25 and 26 of the hardware maintenance manual) to verify if you have this expansion.

Software I have user first Pro CS5, After Effects CS5, SoundBooth CS5 and Photoshop CS5. My question for the software is how to better set up. I've seen many configurations of caching / Scratch and various allowances of CPU Ram and honestly I'm a bit confused by the latter. Also make it Performance vs that memory seems to make no difference visit once. It is better to select on the other? I use dynamic linking a lot so I don't know if that makes a difference in what either.

I know that all these information is found in various discussions in the forum, but I get conflicting info I read through them.

One last question. Do a restart before exporting? I could spend hours doing effects and cuts, and I fear that the RAM is a little full, so I reboot before I did because it gives me a warm fuzzy, but is it really necessary?

    Thanks in advance... TJ

Have a look here: Forums Adobe: generic guideline for the installation disc and look at the installer of three discs.

How is it that would translate to your situation:

    a. get a disk of OS boot & small enough programs, such as the Samsung Spinpoint F4 320 GB. It is then the C: drive in the overview.

    b. use the two raid0 1,000 discs. It would be the D: drive in the preview.

    3. use the two 500 discs in raid0. It would be the drive E: in the preview.

No need to reboot before the export. Prior to export is wise however to save the project.

  • Portege M300: Is the protection of HARD drive only for the brand of Toshiba drives?

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my Portege M300 with a hard drive bigger, as seen on the Portege forum, I posted the thread after that two hard drives from samsung does not similarly, shortly after the installation of the new.

I just want to know if the protection of Toshiba HARD drive utility is simply made for Toshiba hdd or if it can work on any other brands of hard drives of brand. As I say, I want to upgrade a 60 GB to 160 GB and 2 new hard drive failed. I've since updated my bios to the latest version and I also consider not to install this hard drive protection feature, just in case where it will cause problems once more with my 3rd HDD replacement of same nature.

I appreciate any thoughts on this.
    Thank you very much
    C

    Hello

Usually it s any manufacturer is.
If the HARD disk supports the CHIP so it should be possible to use this HARD drive.
The HARD disk protection tool verifies the parameters of the HARD disk.
But the settings are configured by HDD manufacture then it might be possible that the HARD disk will not work if the tool would not choose the settings correctly.

  • What Toshiba preinstalled programs are safe remove in the form of my laptop?

    Hello

This is probably the question most google on Toshiba laptops, but I can't get a clear answer so I thought I'd come to a forum. I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite P870 and startup is very slow, and the overall performance of the computer could be better.
In the list of stuff pre-installed below, I would like to know if there A) would make a difference in performance/speed and B) that I should really delete the

    Programs:

    Toshiba Assist
    Toshiba Config Free
    Toshiba Disc Creator
    Toshiba Eco utility
    Toshiba face recognition
    Toshiba hardware configuration
    Toshiba hDD protection
    Toshiba HDD/SSd Alert
    Toshiba Media controller
    Plug-Controller Toshiba in Media
    Toshiba PC Monitor health
    Toshiba Advanced shift control
    Toshiba Recovery Media Creator
    TOSHIBA ReelTime
    Toshiba Remote Control Manager
Resolution of Toshiba and Plug In for Windows Media Player
    Toshiba Service Station
    Speech of Toshiba systems Applciations
Toshiba Speech system SR motor (US) version 1.0
Toshiba Speech system TTs Engine (US) version 1.0
    Toshiba supervisor password
    Toshiba Value Added Package

I don't have not really met/used one of these yet and want to know which are worth keeping around, and that I can do everything right on remove.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, but I tried the Decrapifyer program and it really helped a lot.

Hi and welcome to our community.

If it is no longer question of google I really hope that we will find the final answer here. ;)
At first, I must say that each of us has a perhaps different view of this. Some of us want to use a tool of some and some of us don t like some of them is not possible to give a precise answer to your question.
In any case I'll start with my personal opinion, but first some general information. Toshiba recovery image contains many specific tools Toshiba and public services, as well as some additional software. Toshiba-specific tools and utilities are designed to help the user with full control for laptop and also the laptop owner to get useful information on updates.

I repeat again, what I write here is my personal opinion and I want to just describe what I do.
I delete after clean install of OS of the system
TEMPRO, Toshiba ReelTime, Toshiba Service Station, and other things like links to eBay, or other stuff that is completely useless to me.
Toshiba listed specific tools are OK, but I put t need them. They start with laptop and sow in commissioning. TEMPRO and Toshiba Service Station are monitoring tools inform you about the new BIOS or driver updates. As I wrote it is very nice, but if the system works perfectly don't change anything.

I'll go trough your list and write a comment short for each listed programs.
-Toshiba Assist very useful tool where you can find shortcuts to all the important of Toshiba and utility tools. Leave the shortcut on the desktop
Toshiba - Free Config - very useful tool for the monitoring of the network but not must be started with the OS. Don t he remove the disabe just in the starting System. You can start it when necessary.
-Toshiba Disc Creator useful, but not so important. Depends on the owner of the laptop. I put t use it.
-Toshiba Eco utility useful but for me personally not so advantageous. I removed it from the system. When I want to save energy, I just use the power of Eve plan Windows.
-Toshiba Face Recognition - nice tool to play but I don t use. It is removed from my system.
-Hardware configuration, one of the most important tools of Toshiba Toshiba. Check it out and don t he remove it from the system.

  • Portege M700 - protection of HARD drive problem

    Hello world

I searched the net for a full day now try to find answers to this.
Note, I am an accountant and not a computer geek.

I have a laptop Portege M700. I am updating from Vista to Win7.

    Here's the problem:
-Initially tried to uninstall Toshiba HDD Protection via Control Panel and got the message error "internal error 2753 setupftc.exe.
-Then searched the Internet and realized that I had to stop the service first. Note that I does NOT initially stop the service in the Service Manager.
-Now went in the Service Manager to seek Protection of HARD drive and it is not at all.
-Returned east to configuration-Toshiba HDD Protection Panel is listed as a program. It will not always uninstall it... the activiates Assistant uninstaller, and after a few seconds, he simply says the same error message is ' «internal error 2753 setupftc.exe»»

-a search on the internet about this error does no useful result. They underline that the registry cleaner programs. I have NOT installed the registry cleaners.

    - then I went to the registry and created a backup of the registry.
Then tried all the items containing 'HDD Protection' and started deleting them hoping that it would work.
    Then I tried to uninstall.
The computer popped up a message stating that a restart is required.
Tried to restart and got a blue screen.
Then restared in safemode, reloaded the old registry file and VOILA the computer is back to normal again.

    BUT...
I can not even uninstall HDD Protection. Get the same bloody error.

-then downloaded the site Web of TOSHIBA HDD Protection file.
Try to install this file... I get the same error, i.e. "internal error 2753 setuptfc.exe.

Ok.. now, I'm ready to give up.

Really, I didn't wipe my comptuer clean to do a fresh install, because it's such a big hassle. And I'm an accountant, not a computer expert so I don't know what to do for a new installation.
For the time I've wasted on this already, I probably just to find instructions on the net and then made a complete new installation.

All the advice to fix it, pleeeeeeeeeeeease! : ??

    Thank you.

So clean Toshiba HDD protection tool didn't help installation then some registry entries must be screwed to the top.
Believe me, best you can do is to install the OS to aid installation of HARD - disc of recovery http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm recovery mode or use if you have a.
After a clean install of Vista, everything will work correctly, and then you can start with the Win7 upgrade procedure.

  • Aspire windows oem recovery 8 v3 - 571g

    Hello

Please I need help with the recovery of windows 8.

the problem is that once I have partitioned my hard drive to 500 GB in 4 drives I not was able to make failure to backup through management of acer (not default configuration of HDD) recovery or use Bios acer D2D (nothing happens when you press alt + f10) to reset my computer.

Recovery Windows, button Reset (13,78 GB) partition is intact. I can't make active probably due to TPG. yesterday I played to find a cure and got my bootloader corrupt and spent the whole day he recover. If someone wants to know how to fix it go to this link http://www.qliktips.com/2012/11/fix-windows-8-boot-issue.html.

So if anyone can help me to use this partition to reset push button and link it to the recovery of windows, it will be great.

PS .around two years back I used a toshiba satellite l-655 and inserted intall.wim file somehow in the recovery environment and got the default settings and recovery works, so there may be a way to do that too.

Please reply if anyone knows a workaround solution.

I found the ground after a lot of digging in the files from partition reset button.

Use diskpart to rename the partition PBR than R and its type like ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87 c 0-68b6b72699c7. now, you can restore the system and can make a recovery disk. do not know D2D.

I'm doing Defrag disk to re - configure the HDD without losing valuable records and continue to get a size of insufficient volume of about 12% to reconfigure the hard drive. I tried to remove some files more since then and things are run faster by removing a lot of material from google. But the restoration of the system was not available to provide an overview of available programs. Is it because that the guest user is the amount of space drive, help or I may need to get a different system not running windows?

  • error NTLDR

My Windows XP SP3 will not start.  Since the installation of SP3, I have installed all MS suggested updates.  My W - XP SP3 has worked fine until

    After I installed (the 01/05/11) a set of updates to 8 MS, who are KB: 2296199, 2423089, 2436673, 2440591, 2443105,.

    2467659, 2443685 and 890830.

Once the 8 updates were installed, I allowed my computer to restart.  The bios load, but Windows introduced the error message:

"NTLDR is missing.  Press CTRL + Alt + Delete to restart. "I did it.  The bios is restarted, the W - XP loading screen appeared, he flickered

Once, the screen went white for 5-6 seconds, the heads of the parked hard drive, hard drive, quit spinning and the computer

restarted.  This same sequence - the bios boot, load W - XP and flicker, white screen screen appearance of 5-6 sec., HDD arrested, and

restarting the computer - resurfaced and he continued this process cycle until I turned off the computer.  I am referring to what the

'cycle start abandoned.'  It happens every time I try to start on this hard drive; It goes indefinitely until I power off of the computer.

I use two hard drives.  The primary drive ("HDD320") is 320 GB. It has a partition to the boot/system/application files and 3

partitions for the data files.  The secondary drive ("HDD80") is 80 GB, and is used only for data backup.

Here's what I tried to correct this anomaly:

    1. last checked - it has not corrected the fault.

    2. start in SafeMode - many Safe Mode files, the system stopped for 6 to 8 seconds, and abandoned start-up cycle began.

    3. disconnect the secondary drive - I disconnected HDD80 and changed HDD320 jumper on the "single" position, then changed the

BIOS accordingly.  The abandoned start cycle began.  (Of course, whenever I make changes in the HARD drive, I always: Turn off the power; variation)

Configuration of HDD jumpers and cables;  "and after turning on the power, change the bios to match changes in the HARD drive).

    4. boot from the CD W - XP and start the Recovery Console, I started the repair feature.  He did his thing and restarted the

computer.  The abandoned start cycle began.

    5. change hard drives - I disconnected HDD320, installed a hard drive 2.5 GB ("HDD2.5") and then to install W - XP on HDD2.5.  W XP

    has HDD2.5 successfully started.

    6. check the defective HARD drive: I connected HDD320 as slave and rebooted.  All the folders and files shown in the indexer (Explorer) as they

must and data files, which do not request additional s.w., open in a satisfactory manner.

7 uninstall updates of 8 MS - I uninstalled KB2296199 and KB2423089 by invoking the spuninst.exe executable in each

\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB*$\spuninst\ file two updates.  Windows found time uninstalls as successful, but I don't have

find out if they were really effective, because the updated files to uninstall weren't on the C:\ drive, i.e. were spuninst.exe

wait until they are.  The updated files are on HDD320, which, as a slave, is listed as drive F:\.

I uninstalled KBs, 2436673, 2440591, 2443105, 2467659 and 2443685 manually, in accordance with the instructions in the file spuninst.txt

in each folder to uninstall.  It has been/is no uninstall for KB890830 folder, and I makes no attempt to change this update.

    8. I disconnected changed HDD2.5 HDD320 Single, then restarted.  The abandoned start cycle began.

9 research - I changed HDD2.5 - Master and HDD320 - Slave discs, and then I went to the MS site and found the two descriptions of

the issue instructions to correct.  I followed the instructions in the thread

    14. I've changed disks HDD2.5 - Master and HDD320 - Slavic, and then copied the HDD2.5 boot.ini file to HDD320.

    15. I disconnected changed HDD2.5 HDD320 Single, then restarted.  The damned start abandoned cycle began.

I'm out of ideas.  Please guide me in this mess of a fastening so that I can boot into W - XP SP3 of HDD320.

try running a chkdsk /r and fixboot and fixmbr via the recovery console.

If no joy, then you will simply need to maybe reformat the drive and do a clean install of the OS

so if your backups are viable, you can update your system with them.

However, if the problem you are experiencing is the result of malicious programs, then you will have to give up your backups as they have checked the infections.

    > To correct the error "NTLDR is missing", boot from the XP CD and make R for Recovery Console. At the command prompt, type:
    > COPY D:\i386\ntldr C:\ [Enter]
    > COPY D:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\ [Enter] [a file that may be also missing] and then rebuild the boot.ini for boot configuration file of

    type:
    > Attrib-h-r-s C:\boot.ini [Enter] [if not found pass the following line]
    > DEL C:\boot.ini [Enter]
    > BootCfg /Rebuild [Enter]
    >
    > Remove the XP CD and hopefully start Windows.

    10. I disconnected changed HDD2.5 HDD320 Single, then restarted.  This time, I got an error of Boot.ini file.

    11. change of disks, had Boot.ini and BootCfg info.

12 fix Boot files - disconnected HDD2.5 and HDD320 changed to Single, began with W - XP CD and accessed the recovery

    Console.  I ran Bootcfg/copy and Bootcfg/rebuild.

    13. restart the computer to start from HDD320.  The abandoned start cycle began.

  • WRT320N and internal VPN server

I just bought a router Linksys 320N to replace another competing router.

I am trying to connect to my VPN server from outside my network. I have the external IP to my network. I install the new router 320N, like the old router.

the dmz ip value the vpn server's internal ip address

set forwarding port in 1723, the two, internal ip address of the vpn server

I have a way to test the vpn when I'm inside my network. So I can look at the VPN server to connect and see the request to come in the server happens to expire with the Linksys 320 N hung.

If I have the old router plugged, the vpn connects.

The above settings are the same settings I have on both routers.

    Help, please.

I don't think that the problem is CHAP. I think the problem is the GRE tunnel. Check with a sniffer network on the server and the client can help see if the ACCORD is sent at one end but never received at the other end.

1 make sure that the options under the Security tab of passthrough are all turned on.

    2. try different forwarding configurations, for example only the DMZ host configuration but no port redirects. Configure the single forward TCP 1723 port and no DMZ host. See if it makes a difference.
