Redirect USB option

Hi guys. Before somewhere I red on USB redirection options. I want unilateral redirecting USB configuration. The customer to only light VM or block of VM USB redirection for thin client. Is this possible?

Environment: vMWare vSphere 5, vMWare View 5. Version 8 of virtual equipment.

Ah, I understand now. You probably want to look into something similar to the following: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/300141

There may be another option, but I have not heard of him. I hope that someone will be able to shine more insight.

With the help of the Ultrabook I have prepared an "emergency" Ubuntu USB boot image (LinuxLive used to transfer a .iso downloaded to a USB device) on an SD card in a USB - SD adapter (the map is to a USB port, not the SD slot).

    It worked well.

But when I restart the Ultrabook using F12 to see the Start Menu there is no text next to the USB option in the start menu (and if I select the boot option I see Windows start as usual).

If I select the option in the Bios on the F12 boot menu to go to the Boot menu in the BIOS I still don't see any text on the USB line.

If now, I re - feed and use F12 I now see "Mass Storage Device" (or something equivalent, can't remember) on the port USB line and the machine now boot Ubuntu on it (and I can see the file system on the hard drive).

As far as I know, you need to enter the BIOS Setup, but do nothing) before using the F12 boot menu if you want to start on a USB (well this one at least).

This seems to be a bug in the BIOS? BIOS version is 1.4

Not quite sure if it s a bug or not.

To my knowledge, the USB boot option to flinch F12 menu until a USB compatible and put up-to-date device should be plugged.
This means that you must connect a bootable USB device to the laptop and then power the device and press F12 to get the menu.

I also read that all the devices can be fully compatible so it would be really interesting to know if the same question is displayed using a bootable USB flash memory key you've tried a combination of USB SD adapter I could be possible that it is the problem here.

  • Where's my USB option...

    Hey guys,.

This leads me into the wall...

Yesterday, I installed a copy of Windoze 10 on my rMBP. I downloaded the ISO of M$ burned external (300 GB - single, I got!) through BCA, partitioned and installed. Everything is good with the world.

Today, just a day later, I'm doing the same thing with another rMBP, but although they share the same OS, the BCA interface is completely different... Where I had yesterday, on my main machine, three options (check boxes) - burn the ISO on USB, download the drivers and installation, now on the secondary zone, I can only select an ISO (just the files - no USB option selector) and the partition. What is crack? The two report version 6.0.1 (522), why so radically different?

I converted my USB disk in an ISO image (through disk Utils, I deleted the original when everything goes well, yesterday), ridden by BCA, set a 80 GB for Windoze partition and press the button install. It seems to download the drivers (who are actually on the image in any way, because they were placed there by the 'other' BCA yesterday), but the bombs, saying: there are not enough disk space to continue. Unfortunately it does not say which drive. Surely not ISO, which has no meaning, and both partitions are more than 80 GB, which should be more than enough space even for Windoze...

I tried the hack plist on a copy of the BCA, but no effect.

    Any ideas or help appreciated.

  • No USB options shooting Vibe

Hello. Today morning, I tried to load my vibe shot with my laptop, so turned on the charging mode. Since, it has no USB option when I connect it to any PC, it just charges. Search mobile for half an hour, if there is no option for this, but there is none, and I can't use my cell phone to transfer data. Would be really happy if I can help. Thank you.

Problem solved! And it happened the stupidest way ever: I changed the USB cable, and I have my rear USB options, when I connect my phone to my laptop a logical answer to this?

  • Redirect USB in Windows server 2012

I was wondering if redirect USB in Windows Server 2012 could take charge of the concurrent users.

I mean, for instance, two users A and B are connected to the same remote server from WS 2012 and the user has plugged a USB stick into his computer ThinClient and forwarding, is it possible that the user that was able to find this USB and do some operations with this USB?

Please offer me some hints BTW.

    Thank you.

Yes, that's correct. storage devices are not visible between sessions.

  • See 5.2 - sysprep breaks redirect USB

Just a quick note in case no matter who else goes through.

My clone related (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) deployment process looks like this:

Install/update applications that I need on my main image (the virtual machine is not joined to the domain)

The VMware tools update and the Client to display for the new versions

The machine for a new virtual machine clone

Run sysprep on the clone (mainly to get the admin profile copied into the default profile for new users - the 'right' way to do it under Windows 7)

Join the clone to the domain and log in to get GP to run (adds printers, ScriptLogic agent etc.)

Stop the clone, snap it and use it as my base image to deploy my clones (using quickprep)

Everything good, work great for a year and then I've upgraded to 5.2. As soon as I did it, redirect USB stopped working. VMware USB devices in Device Manager show 'work' and there is no errors will connect to the event. In the view of a zero client logs customer, I see this:

    28/03/2013, 07:06:29.688 > RC LVL:2: 0 SOFT_USB: usb_urboip_process_plugin2: connection of device USB\Vid_013fd & Pid_0842 (device_handle 0 x 00000403)

    28/03/2013, 07:06:29.688 > LVL:1 RC :-500 SOFT_USB: usb_urboip_process_rx_buffer: PLUGIN2 treatment failure

Thought it might have been a failed upgrade to view customer, so I went back to my master (non-Sysprep image) and re-directed the View Client installation. Any help - deployed again and still no USB. A decided to eliminate some steps and published my master (non-Sysprep) machine in a manual pool. Connected by a zero client and USB worked.

To make a long story - and four hours on the phone with VMware support - shorter, looks that sysprep breaks USB redirection with the 5.2 client. We don't know why, but if I reinstall or repair the Client View after you run sysprep, it is fixed. I have a file of unattended installation of dead-simple sysprep that adds two or three user accounts, tells sysprep to copy the admin profile the default profile, sets the language and license keys, and that's all. Nothing for devices (no new analysis full PnP), just a "generalize" and "/ oobe" on the command line. But even with these settings simple redirection failure.

Support will try to repro the problem in the lab, but I thought I'd post it here in case someone else is going through the question.

    Geoff

    Hi Geoff

We saw some people with similar problems. We believe that there may be a problem when the upgrade is made of an earlier view. In your original post you mention:

"If I reinstall or repair the Client View after you run sysprep, it is fixed. Did you reinstall/repair the agent rather than the customer? All the problems that we have investigated were caused by agent side issues rather than the client's problems.

I was wondering if you could try something to see if that fixes the problem.

After you get your agent to the required version of view, but before performing the operation of sysPrep. Please first confirm that the agent works for USB redirection. In order to solve the problem, you are facing here are one of 2 ways to do this. One way works for some people, and another works for others. Would appreciate feedback on your results.

    before the command sysPrep but confirmed USB redirection works;

Method 1: (which does not work for some, not all)

    1. go to Device Manager and remove the 'VMWare View virtual USB Hub' device.

    2. right click in the Device Manager and look for changes on the hardware. This should re - install the latest version of the driver vhub.

    3. restart the agent

Check now if USB still works and try again your sysPrep as before.

Method 2: (once again before the sysPrep operation)

1 find the machine for "vmwvhub.sys." There are several versions found, including C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and c:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository. The version stored in C:\Program VMware View\Agent\bin\drivers\should be the latest version for your installation of the agent. (probably 5.5.0 xxxx)

2 remove instances of these files that have one version other than the most recent 5.5.0 build-949580. The former display drivers will probably be a version 5.1.0 build-668184.

    3. now restart and confirm functions yet USB. The driver loaded in Device Manager must be a 5.5.0.

Now try the operation of sysPrep.

Let me know if one or the other of these work for you,

    Kind regards

  • Redirect USB driver...

I searched the world over and can not find the 'redirect' USB driver I have users in virtual desktops in need of printers and portable scanners and can not find the redirct usb driver to install on both sides. I know it of simple, but makes me crazy...

    Thank you.

The client stand alone is downloadable from the Web site.  If you are on a trial or own, you should see a download of the VMware View Client in your list of software.

  • Redirect USB does not

    Hi guys,.

IM using Wyse thin client 5000 with vWorkspace 8.6, deploy with the VMware virtualization host. I have a problem, USB is way to thin client VDI doesn't work, status on vWorkspace virtual USB like the photo above.

Anyone who has seen this problem? Help me please.

Sorry, my English not good! Thks!

    Hello

Just to be clear, he never displayed in the vWorkspace USB hub when you use a machine ThinOS.

It's for when you're with Windows (and possibly Linux) but not ThinOS.

ThinOS redirected devices will appear in the VDI Device Manager.

However, they will only do that if your WNOS.ini is configured to redirect the.

    Thank you, Andrew.

  • Redirect USB error

    Good evening everyone,

My brain always seems to be in holiday standby mode. We try to redirect some drive Flash USB devices in VMWare View connection. When clicking on the device to "Connect USB Device" drop down, we get an error message saying "an error occurred the USB connection to your desktop" there is nothing to work with in the VMWare View Client log on the physical machine. USB connections are enabled on the view connection server.

    So I am very confused...

    Thank you!

This has proved to be the question:

    http://KB.VMware.com/kb/2051801

Workaround in the article was not 100% correct. I had to remove the Hub USB VMWare devices from the Device Manager and the drivers from the system32 location. Before running a repair on the view Agent 5.2.

Then things seem to be much happier.

  • Redirect USB on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

    Hi guys,.

On a new install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I install the client VMware View Horizon (2.1.0).

I open a terminal and fire towards the top of view/usr/bin/vmware-view, connect to my desktop using PCoiP and I get an Rogue to vmware-view-usb has failed.

After some research I tried to create a symbolic link that looks like this = > ln-s/usr/lib/vmware/vmware-view-usb/usr/bin/vmware-view-usbd

This will get rid of the error and the USB begins to create a log file, only no still no USB redirection.

Review of the journal USB folder that I saw that it is looking for a configuration file on different places all does not exist by default, so I created one on/etc/vmware.

With the following configuration in it, I created a display-mandatory-config = > viewusb. IncludeFamily = 'storage' then flash drives would be redirected, not always no USB redirection.

Examine the log, vmware - view.bin I see USB dies in the second, that the client is started.

What I'm doing wrong here ?

    Hello

Thanks for the newspapers - more useful.

So - I * think * the problem is that you still have the * old * usb binary on your system. From the journal, you can see:

    Child departure: vmware-view-usb '-a ' 'ipaddress' '-p' '32111' '-u' '[omitted].

the binary vmware-view-usb is the binary named former who did not support the part of the arbitrator. We kept the support for that as back compatibility and the client tries first to load that (if it is available, it will be) but if not it will be settled then using the new binary usb.

    I guess when you run;

    sudo. / vmware-usbarbitrator - f - trivia

    then run the usbd:

    sudo. / vmware-view-usbd - o: follow-up of the journal

the two binaries get and remain 'stable' and the accident happens once you launch the client.  newspapers for the look of the end referee - if you waited more before running client "vmware view", I think the usbd newspapers would also look a little more healthy. and I think that when the old binaries are launched (which they shouldn't be), then things go wrong...

So, you can watch it on your system for the old usb binaries and remove them. It should then all work fine.

    see you soon

  • Slow detection of Redirection USB PCOIP

Running with the customers see 5.1 and zero LG and samsung.  Does anyone noticed a long delay after plugging the USB so that it appears in windows. It seems that it has something to do with the size of the stuck, for example a 16GB key takes 15 seconds, and a 32 GB stick takes about 40 seconds.  Thoughts?  Grabs newspapers to review, will post if I noticed anything bad.

As mentioned keeggib a lot of what you see is Windows behavior and redirected standard of the USB device when performance limits. Windows will always read the table of allocation of entire file for readers FAT32 formatted when it is plugged, it means a demand by sector again to the device for the data (each bear a round trip of late due to the latency of the network). For NTFS, Windows reads it all, therefore faster loading time.

  • View and redirect USB - Office at initialization outside the firewall

I've been painting these forums looking for a solution to this problem.  I can connect to my Windows 7 Professional VM without problems via the secure SSL protocol, but after login on the USB tab at the top, it says "initialization of the office."

Now I have seen and read a lot of posts here, and I am sure that this has something to do with my router/firewall physics.  I put a Client computer on the same local network (inside the firewall) and it loads and works very well, complete with USB Redirection so I know that the actual configuration is fine.  However, when I do the same thing from a computer outside my firewall, it gets stuck.

After reading the other posts here, I forwarded your port 32111 to my server from view, and that did not solve the problem.  I even went as far as to put the server on DMZ and always the same result.

So to summarize-, it works very well from a computer on the same local network, but when coming out from the local network, it does not.

Ports, go to the server to display:

    80, 443, 4172, 32111.

Could really use a few suggestions here.

OK, so it seems that your environment from view behind a NAT. Tunneling is probably necessary here (see http://pubs.vmware.com/view-50/topic/com.vmware.view.installation.doc/GUID-0FC59EB4-45DA-4B3C-A611-F6B5597E9F0C.html), you must make sure it is on, then make sure your connection to the server can also obtain the MV Office on port TCP 32111.
