(Redirected) Windows 10

My office is XPS8100 Studio [Admin NOTE: maintain the label removed in accordance with the TOU strategy] (Italy). I registered as a user of community a few minutes ago.

After downloading Windows 10, I checked if the installed drivers are compatible with the new platform and I think that the driver for the Bluetooth connection is not. Is this right?

Thanks in advance.

  • Firefox redirects Windows 10 "Hey Cortana" search

I use Firefox on Windows 10 42.0. The operating system correctly recognize Firefox as my default browser and uses the search engine by default for most of the research of Cortana, but all initiated with "Hey Cortana" voice command are performed via Bing instead of my default search engine (no matter what it is defined on). This does not affect searches typed in Cortana or voice searches after clicking on the microphone icon in Cortana.

I tried to restart Firefox in Safe Mode and refreshing to the profile nothing helps. I checked the option "Use this search for Windows search engine" is checked and that the "browser.search.redirectWindowsSearch" on: config option is set to True (as well as manually activating / disabling the option of two places).

The setting worked at the first time in 40 of Firefox, but stopped some time ago.

Could you... Take the exact URL of your search results "Hey Cortana" page?

Windows adds different settings for different types of research generated by the system and Firefox changes the site search for adults that it is coded in order to manage, all the others just pass through unchanged. Currently, Firefox search form = or FORM = these:

  • Xps8700 (redirect) & windows 10 upgrade

I have the Dell XPS 8700 and have tried for days to get the upgrade for windows 10.  All my drivers and BIOS are up-to-date and I followed all possible suggestions including disabling the firewall and anti-virus while trying to get the upgrade, but I can't get the upgrade.

    For my first attempt:

After the screen for the agreement and clicking Yes, I then got a screen indicating that Windows 10 could not be installed - we could not update the system reserved partition.

The next time I tried, I got the same error, and when I went to update Windows, past review updates there was a message that it failed and the information gave me the number of failure 80240020.

I do not search this number error or failure and has done everything that has been proposed and then tried again.  But 3 times now, I've tried and keep the error code 0xc1900200.

I checked and my computer is compatible - even the dell site says that all drivers and bios are updated.  I did all that I can think of to get this free update again, full.  Shortly after buying the computer, I heard about the new operating system and knew that I should have to wait to get a new computer and then I heard about the free upgrade so I wasn't worried.  But no matter what I tried it will not work.

I have checked the compatibility report and even ran it again and it says that my computer is fully compatible.

Does anyone have any suggestions.  If I could afford it, I would have gotten a guarantee longer and went to Dell about this problem (but when you're barely scraping as it is, a simple fail to find the money to buy a longer warranty)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • (Redirected) Windows Update disabled

I bought a Dell laptop with Windows 7 OS pre-installed. I don't know how but then, since a month ago, when Microsoft has stopped support for Win XP, I think there is a problem (a problem downloading from Adobe) & suddenly the update of Windows my operating system Windows 7 has been permanently disables. During these periods, I ran the pillar to post to sort out the issue, but all in vain. When I contacted Microsoft customer service, they asked me to contact the OEM manufacturer to resolve the issue. And when has contacted Dell customer service I was told give Rs. 1374 to reload the operating system. Sir/Madam, I am on a work of tourism & why should I pay more, for which I had already paid for. In addition to a shock! When I tried again to contact Microsoft via chat today on May 20, 2014, I was told that my version of Windows 7 OS is not a real. Wow! Microsoft Portal @ self-help is too not correctly detect the question. This is why my antivirus also does not work. Every time I have is maybe not able to achieve the OEM operating system CD. I am too a malcontent with the kind of support you provide. Please help me solve the problem.

  • (Redirected) Windows 10 certified systems

I have an Inspiron (mid 2011) 620 - on your support site, it says:

Dell has not confirmed that this product can upgrade to Windows 10. Some drivers, firmware, applications and devices may not work as you would expect.

For systems that fall into this category, does that mean that Dell will never confirm that this system can go to 10 Windows, or simply that you have not had the chance to test this particular model, but you'll eventually?

  • (Redirected) Windows 10 upgrade screwed up my machine

I have a Dell 8700, with provided Invidia graphics card. I made sure that everything on 8.1 Win was updated including Invidia graphics drivers.

I went through the upgrade to win 10, but the machine ended up just sitting there with the cursor of the mouse on a white screen. After leaving it for another hour, it was all the same so I turned off the machine and restarted.

At the beginning I have nothing else than the same black screen with the mouse cursor, which could move around the screen but do nothing. I decided to enter my password, what has worked and I got the office. I am OK there is a glitch on the first boot, but it should be OK now. NO, when I tried to open a program, the status bar says it was open, but nothing on the screen but the wallpaper. Through litigation, I discovered that the cursor stopped at the top right and bottom of the screen, but left it would cease for the first thumb down or then disappear the edge, there was an open window in the taskbar on the edge of windows, but I could see that the tile.

So without control, I restarted, now enter the password did not get on the desktop. another reboot and now all I get is 5 beeps at startup and absolutely nothing else. According to a post on the internet 5 beeps is failure of CMOS battery, new battery fitted - bad, still 5 beeps.

The PC has worked very well every day and I have never had any problems with her or any other update in the past and worked until the upgrade to win 10.

    Anyone got the answers?

  • Windows 10 will change my current setup of the operating system on files on the SSD HARD drive and program/user?

Way back when I upgraded my main drive to a SSD, I used the following to put all the files of program/user on my HARD drive.  My questions are:

    1. What are replaced to the default settings?

    2. If so, what measures are needed to reach my current setup?

    d:\Users d:\ProgramData

I would advise against using a script that in the beginning, because some people have had the tough get windows to read files that are not where they are supposed to be.

For applications and other personal files, 10 Windows offers a similar feature in the settings.

Program files (and the similar system attributes) should probably be intact until the symbolic links (which redirect Windows when he tries to find the file) running again. The application of this article did not work because Windows 7 was new, and equivalents of the command prompt (how I got to this topic) do not work.

    http://www.PCAdvisor.co.UK/how-to/Windows/how-install-software-second-hard-drive-move-program-files-folder-in-Windows-3500581/

If you go for an upgrade, instead of a clean install, I would consider coming back from these changes to avoid damage or errors during the transition.
