• Cisco 5300 MCU failed to register with the SIP registrar

  I have a new Cisco 5300 MCU I have just begain configuration initially.  Under settings, SIP, it says registered.  However, to the title of the Conference, I have set up, it is said the recording failed.  If I click on failure, under the statistical heading he says SIP Registrar ID, could not be saved.   Hello Ovindo-

  For questions 1 and 2, you can take a look at this powerpoint which shows different stacking combinations for the 5300 series MCU and port capacity for each.

  Regarding the page layouts, the 5300 series follow the same layouts class microcontrollers such as the 4000 series and MSE 8510.  In the MCU 5300 Administrator's guide, it covers some of these layouts.

  The packing is just another word as reunification when compared with other microcontrollers, it allows you to join two or more microcontrollers (two can only be stacked/grouped in the 5300 MCU series).  Once on the other two microcontrollers are treated as a big MCU.

  Cascade, creates a link involved between two microcontrollers.  A MCU dials to the other as a participant and is treated as such in order to allow a larger participants to attend a conference of MCU another if one is at capacity.

  How can I set the conference used by a Cisco 5300 MCU ID? Automatically assigns IDs to 400 on ad hoc and 2100 on reserved conferences and saves on h.323 and SIP. They are also shown in TMS, but are not editable. Is it possible to assign some my own values?

  Hello Jochen. If you access the mcu in the systems browser, click Settings > change settings > extended settings, you should see meeting ID first step. You should be able to change there. Let us know if that's what you're looking for. Thank you.

• 5320 MCU Sip settings

  I want to deploy 5320 MCU as multimedia cm unified using this resource guide (page 36). But I did not 'Use the trunk' option on page settings_sip.html webUI. I also have access to an another 5320 MCU with the same set of function keys, where this option is available. Only difference between the two devices is the firmware version:

  4.4 (3.42) on my device and 4.5 (1.45) on devices where "Trunk of use" is available.

  Q1: Should I upgrade or there is workaround to use sip trunk without this option?

  Q2: Do I have to pay for this update?

  Q3: If my distributor can not get it to me or my relationships with them stopped can get updates directly from cisco?

  I have problems in the VCS configuration to work with the MCU to join to several endpoints in a conference. The components that I use:

  -Cisco VCS control v8.7.

  -Cisco 5300 MCU 5310 v 4.5 (1.72)

  -3 x SX20 end points

  I recorded every endpoint and MCU on VCS, but I'm not able to do a conference call 3-way, the only option is 1 video and 1 audio (I disabled the Multisite option). It seems that VCS does not yet call the MCU in the game.

  Can you tell us how you set up the Conference and how you have configured MCU and endpoints?

  From the sounds of it, you call each end point of one of the SX20s, but you must call simply directly in the Conference on the MCU.  If you want to have a conference point to point between two end points and then degenerate into a multipoint conference on the MCU, you must configure Multiway.

  In your case use MCU 5320 (MCU1) as master and will act as a gateway for the 4205 MCU (MCU2) since no feature of the H323 gateway configuration and no guard integrated for series 5300 MCU.

  Grouping/stacking of the MCU is not supported for 4200 series or 4500 to two MCU operate together as one.

  Clustering/stacking is supported only for the 5300 MCU series. You can only cluster/stack two units of the MCU.

  The idea of clustering/stacking the MCU is to increase capacity. The cluster will provide the sum of the capacities of the individual units. For example, if group you two microcontrollers that each supports 10 ports x 1080 p you supported a cluster which takes 20 ports x 1080 p.

  We currently have 5320 MCU running version 4.5 (1.45). I see that Cisco offers code TelePresence MCU server:

  Looking at the release notes is not very clear if when running 3.1 GST in MCU we will lose the ability to "Téléprésence MCU" in CUCM to use this 5320 MCU for Ad - hoc conferences.

  If you upgrade your 5320 MCU with the telepresence server migration software, it will transform the MCU in a server of telepresence for all functions and features will be a telepresence server and not a MCU.  See the Software of TS running on MCU 5300 Series installation guide on how to convert your MCU to a telepresence server, if you are interested.

  The cisco_ts_3.1_1.98_for_mcu_5300 software is for a series of 5300 MCU migrating to a server of telepresence.  The cisco_ts8700_3.1_1.98 software is specifically for the hardware already running a TP server software, such as the various servers of telepresence models listed here, this includes MCUs migrated to the server TP as the 5300 MCU to MCU MSE 8510 series software.

  Maybe not what you want, but the only thing you can change is the MCU auto attendant banner, he would replace the white Cisco logo appearing in the upper left corner.  You don't mention what model MCU, you have, but as all microcontrollers Cisco use the same software, I will use the series 5300 MCU for example.  See the section 'Adding a banner of auto attendant custom' help MCU 5300 Series Guide on pg 100.

  VCS starter pack behaves just like VCS with some limitations of licenses and features. It supports all the standard endpoints and the bridges that are in line with the H323 and SIP.

• Gel-presentation SX20 to MXP endpoints

  We have a problem where a codec SX20 in presenter view showing a slide of that presentation freezes as the slides is advanced on 7 1700 MXP endpoints.  The other end points do not see the presentation in advance.  it freezes right on their end.  Devices are saved on a server of VCS control and we have an old legacy MCU, MPS200.  The MPS200 could be the bottleneck?

  We have a new Cisco 5300 MCU, that we're converting.  I would like any advice or thoughts related to this.

  The only way that you can convert the MCU licenses Telepresence license server is if you have a 5300 MCU series or MCU MSE 8510 blade, and it is through the process of installing the server TP on the MCU software, because the hardware can support.

  Hello.  You have tones of input/output on 5300 MCU with text superimposed indicating participating X has left/joined etc..  This can be configured under settings > conferences under overload text and Audio Notifications.

  As somone check it name before, and then it plays when they join the meeting, theres a service improvement open to this request which is:CSCuc61226.
