Registry Defrag no longer works

I don't know if it is a virus, but at the time I built my rig, in July, six months ago registry defrag System Mechanic would work. The countdown was going to happen, then he'd do his thing and I would like to use my computer. Then, what is going to happen, a month ago it started, is Sys Mech registry defrag to start the countdown during start, it starts, then it would just go to the login screen. I thought that Sys Mech was the problem, and I took it. I lived without a cleanup for a little utility, and then I was the Glary Utilities free version. I ran everything, and I saw the registry defragmentation. I wanted to see if it would work, and, like Sys Mech, said that a restart is required. When I did, it does the same thing. However, Glary had a countdown of abandonment. He just went in front, and then in a split second he just jump to the login screen. Glary did make a popup after the connection, saying that this was Defrag, but scared me, he can do the same thing as Sys Mech, with the running registry defragmentation and jumping at every boot, so I just uninstalled. I'm reinstall Sys Mech and I won't just defragmenting, but nobody knows why this could happen? I use Windows 7 and I have AVG Full edition as my antivirus. Thanks for any help!

Two things...
1} your registry database didn't need Defrag.
2} your question would be with the manufacturer of software - not Microsoft/Windows.

  • Satellite 2410-404: mini pc card no longer works

    Hello

I have a Satellite 2410-404 with mini pc installed wireless lan card, allowing to work perfectly - up to a few days ago, I installed a pcmcia by levelone wireless network card, just to check if it worked. This was the case, and so I uninstalled the card and the software that came with it. But now my toshiba mini wlan card no longer works! It is actually recognized and installed by the system and shown as being active - but I do not get a connection to wifi even when there is certainly one around. I can't even bring up the list of WLAN networks available (win xp) that normally you can even if there's no matter what available wlan.

I checked the registry and found several remaining entries by levelone... but dare not change or delete since I'm not an expert at all regarding registry stuff. Another thing that bothers me is that when I uninstall the mini pc card and let windows reinstall, it shows as "3 wireless" or even "WiFi 4", which seems to allude to some "connection 2" still occupied by some zombie levelone wireless.

I would appreciate any help on this matter,

    TIA
    Rainer

    Hi Rainer

As you can see all the software, after removing, let a few entries in the registry. In my opinion, you should remove the list of Device Manager wireless card and wireless connections. Restart the device and the wireless card should be recognized and installed again.

The wireless connection you can configure with option of windows. If you use another client to the wireless Wi - Fi disable windows configuration.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burn

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

  • A connection VPN (PPTP), who worked previously no longer works.

    original title: VPN works not

    PROBLEM:

I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate SP2, with all Microsoft Updates applied.  My original CD is pre - SP1.
A connection VPN (PPTP), who worked previously no longer works.
I think that the problem is related to an installation of Virtual PC or iTunes, but I can't confirm either way.
Unfortuantely, I do not have a restore point dated to before the problem.

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEM:

When I'm viewing the network drivers in Device Manager, the following drivers displayed an error:

    Miniport Wan (IP)
    Miniport Wan WAN (IPv6)
    Miniport Wan (Network Monitor)
    Miniport WAN (PPPOE)
    Miniport Wan WAN (PPTP)

The error for each text is: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

The following drivers do NOT display an error:

    Miniport Wan WAN (L2TP)
    Miniport WAN (SSTP)

    SOLUTIONS ALREADY ATTEMPTED:

Uninstalling Virtual PC has not solved the problem.
Uninstall device drivers and re - install it as described in the following web pages did not help the problem:

    http://www.chicagotech.NET/NetForums/viewtopic.php?p=988&SID=39aeb8e5e43c459
    http://www.howtonetworking.com/Vista/rebuildminiport.htm
    http://www.experts-exchange.com/software/System_Utilities/Remote_Access/VPN/Q_24291900.html

In general, I am able to uninstall device drivers, but re-plant fails (sometimes reported as successful, sometimes not).

I have presented a problem report on the failure of resettlement of Microsoft (including the following in the log files), but have received no solution:

    DMIC8E.tmp.log.XML
    LOGC9F.tmp
    netrasa.inf
    Setupapi.app.log
    Setupapi.dev.log

I noticed that the device (loser) of WAN Miniport (PPTP) lists two files: 'ndistapi.sys' and "raspptp.sys", of which the first is NOT digitally signed, but the second is.  However, the peripheral Miniport WAN (L2TP) (work) lists only one file: "rasl2tp.sys" which is signed digitally.  This brings me to the question if my netrasa.inf installation file is currupted. (?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am technically competent and can deal with editing the registry, etc, but need a plan of attack.

    Thank you!

My Windows mail no longer works... it opens and then tells me that it has stopped working... it is highlighted on the Inbox. I have Panda Security but the scan of mail turned off. All started having this problem. Running Vista Home
    Thank you Jacquie

original title: Windows Mail has stopped working

There are extreme measures you can take.  One is either movement store the content of the message to another directory and WinMail starts it will be a clean message store (or you can simply rename the directory from the old Windows Mail message store and then create a new directory named Windows Mail which will begin to empty).  The other is to back up the registry key to Winmail (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm) and then remove it and then start WinMail and who must rebuild the registry key.  The first allows to compensate for a corrupt message store (you can use the file |) Import | Messages into the plu message store you renamed) and the second allows to compensate for a corrupted under the WinMail key registry hive.  I suspect the first manoeuvre will fix the problem, but I don't know.

But those who are basically last stations.  I would like to save things before you do anything that anyone else.

Oh - the system I'm using is Windows7 home premium, 32-Bit, RAM decent, proccessor and HD etc.

    Any help... Thanks Jim

  • My Flash Player no longer works and I have to download several that he twice daily. What's wrong?

My Flash Player no longer works and I have to re - download many that he twice daily. What's wrong?

I checked to see if it is on and it is always. I deleted temporary files. When I try to download it, I always get a message that I do not have enough privileges to complete the download. Then when I check, it still works very well!

If you are in a corporate environment where you don't have administrator rights on the machine, you should have a chat with your friendly neighborhood computer guy; However, I'm guessing that this is not the case.

If it's your home machine and you are an administrator, this is a good indication that the file system is damaged.  It is not really good news, I'm sorry.

Let's start first of all, if you have something important on the machine, now is a great time to save somewhere.  Removable disk, web storage, no matter.  When the file system starts to get wobbly, he could simply be badly timed power outage or something, or it could be a first indication that your hard drive is going to bite the dust soon.  Having lost my fair share of readers, I recommend you to take the warning as a gift and make a backup.  Of this is way less painful than the alternative.

Once your valuables are secure, and your seat is in position, locked and trained, will search for and fix something wrong with the file system.

Check your hard disk for errors - Windows 7:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2641432

At this point, take the nuclear option and manually purge every bit of Flash Player in the system.

(Note: these instructions are for Win7 and lower grades.)  "If you're in Win8 or later, we'll talk more before doing anything.)

Perform a new installation of Flash Player on Windows:

    https://forums.Adobe.com/thread/928315

My guess is that you will get to a stage that you can't achieve because you do not have the permissions to do so, even if you * have permission.

If it's deleting a file, usually a utility like Unlocker will repair it for you, at which point, you can delete the file and complete uninstallation.  It was probably the damaged file.  If you couldn't clean it as admin, our installers have not been able to touch either.

Unlocker - download reviews and free software - CNET Download.com

If it is a registry key, you have bigger problems.  There are commercial third-party utilities that are supposed to do magic registry fixes, but Windows includes its own audit of the registry and repair tool which is already not fixing the issue.  I'll leave to you to experiment with those if you want, or if you just want to do a complete reinstallation of the operating system and applications.  Whatever it is, something's wrong with the underlying operating system.  Personally, I tend to be skeptical about the utility of spare parts, and if it has been a few years, you will probably be surprised to see how fast the machine after doing a fresh install of the OS.

    Hope that helps.

  • OSD software no longer works

    Hello

first need to mention that my SL500 - since I hold-watch a little unconventional behavior.

Since I'm used to have problems when you use Microsoft Software I think it is a Windows based problem.

To report problems, I want to give a brief overview of my SL500 story:

11/2008 installation of Vista Business x 64-No Trouble, everything settled right

11/2008 first problems during use, often hung apps and delays

    12/2008 installation of Vista SP1

    12/2008 everything works fine

01/2009 WiFi no longer works in the office, at home, everything works fine.

01/2009 two networks pros don't you the right problem oO-online first reinstall

    01/2009 let try Vista32

01/2009 installation is horrible. Nothing works very well. Unrest during the troubles. Fingerprint device not recognized even if the driver is properly installed...

01/2009 return to Vista64-online Reinstall switch

    01/2009 installation without any difficulty

01/2009, this time we install Thinkvantage Access Connections because its strongly assume that the problem of WiFi has come this way...

    01/2009 everything works fine.

02/2009 someday my SL500 TP go to sleep and wake up back, when no OSD display more.

Reinstalling the drivers of 02/2009 (hotkey, Interface System, monitor, GFX) doesn't help.

02/2009 still awaiting my OSD to come back.

Because I need my Thinkpad to work he has no chance to do a reinstall of Vista.

    My hypothesis:

There is something in Vista (maybe Windows Defender) who stops obsolete programs or programs with licenses exceeded work correctly.

Another possible reason is that there is a bug in registry with Vista64 and so you should reinstall the OS every two months.

I don't know any reason why my OSD does not work anymore.

Maybe you can help me with my missing OSD.

In the display driver settings/advanced/osd everything what it is properly set up.

(since I use the German version of windows I don't know the correct English terms for this)

The only thing which makes me fear, is that the switch for the font size (small average big) has no value in it.

I can't even save a value to these switches. Trying to make the results both in an empty when switch the window to reopen.

Please help me find my OSD. I liked it so ;(

I solved the problem, the 'Size' key value should be "00 01 10 10" binary. "." Then you again active OSD before this change, I put several values. Maybe you must set an invalid value, and then set the correct value by MISTLETOE "font size".
