Reinstall XP, upgrade or to abandon ship

I got XP home sp2 with the automatic updates for several years. Less than a year, I worked with technical support of MS and reinstalled my operating system from my authorized cd.

Recently, my computer has slowed to almost a term despite the use of anti anti defragmentation, virus and malware. Now, I have to cut the power to restart and access my counter top. In a few minutes, that the buttons do not work, windows freezes and I have to wait five minutes to clear up everything; unless I disconnect and start all over again.

I think I want to pay a pension to guide me through a reinstall however, if I buy windows 7 or Vista and install that a new operating system on my XP will solve my problems or I have to wipe my hard drive again, anyway?

Recently, my son showed me his return at the top of the Tower of Apple, and I was stunned by how fast it loaded and changed applications. (She even played better than my own stereo music at home!) He wasn't waiting for nothing!  Is Microsoft with all OS still there?

My pc is 2.4 mhz, dual processor, 1000 ram, Seagate 7500 RPM HD (the third, I built myself) thanks a bunch.

The operating system should give you more than one years... Even with the patches you mentioned.

youre not not cleaning all. Try these all first, go to run, type: folder in the new window, change,.

Select all, clear all, if all don't delete, create a folder & keep of this record up to 98%

went out when through. Back to run, type: C:\WINDOWS\Temp edit, select all, clear all.

Usually 1-3 used to delete, they are used, when out thru. Back to run, type: CLEANMGR /SAGESET

In the window, select all, exit. Back to run, type: CLEANMGR /SAGERUN

If a reinstall is always justified, simply start pc xp cd, select xp install, delete the partition, create

one, let xp format and install the OS. Watch: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/install-reinstall-uninstall

  • HP ENVY 700-210xt: how to reinstall after upgrade windows 10

I bought a HP ENVY 700 - 210xt delivered with Windows 8.1 and included a recovery for the same partition.  At one point last year, I used the free update of Microsoft to take the system up to 10 Windows.  As far as I know, it has no effect on the recovery partition.  Now, I met a hard drive problem, where the system will not start or recover.  My hypothesis is that I need to reinstall from scratch, but I have some problems.

    • If I order the HP recovery discs, they will be for Windows 8.1, but not my upgrade to Windows 10 invalidated the original license key?
    • If I get somehow 8.1 Windows reinstalled with the original key, can I still the free update me for Windows 10 of Microsoft?  I guess that their records show that I've already updated.
    • If I can't get this path to work, is there a direct way to return to Windows 10?  As part of the upgrade, I've never seen a new license key, but maybe it was and I never saw him.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Reinstall Vista upgrade Express of Business to ultimate after hard drive crash

When I bought my first computer at Dell, it had Windows Vista Business installed on the computer.  Shortly after the purchase, I bought an upgrade on Amazon.com to upgrade to Vista Ultimate.  I remember that when I upgraded, a file has been downloaded and executed on the computer that has provided the additional functionality of Vista Ultimate.  The file is stored in my service digital locker.  I think I have the product key that was used after the upgrade (it of in my notes, but does not match the original product code which is on the side of my computer).  In any case, the hard drive crashed and I reinstalled windows vista professional, on the recovery provided by Dell CD.  However, I can't seem to find a way to present a new request the ultimate improvement to the computer (it only gives me vista professional).  Now that the digital locker is gone, I can't recover this file and emails informing her service digital locker went went to an old email account I'm not "check very often (I located the email I was trying to research on mine)."

Can someone provide me with instructions on how to apply a full new vista computer?  If I think I have the product key for the upgrade, is it possible for this punch in and extract the upgrade feature?  Thanks in advance!

  • How to reinstall the upgrade of Windows 7 after replacing the hard drive

I have a few problems and decided after many hours of nowhere to replace my hard drive, I am running Win7 installed via an upgrade disk, because it doesn't seem to be a startup disk (I want to run repair to try to recover the missing files / corrupted etc.) what I need to install Vista first and then use the upgrade disk?

There are likely to be problems with activation etc as in the past, that a new hard drive has been regarded as the same license is installed on a different machine?

    * original title - hard drive replacement, Q on installation of Windows

Thanks for both answers, but as I could not reinstall Vista due to the lack of drive & key - I put my system together myself have so do not the sticker supplied with the systems, pre-built, I moved twice since the departure of Vista installation, the disk may or may not be somewhere in this House.

My solution was to take the opportunity to upgrade my CPU and add that extra RAM so bought a win7 disc at the same time (which I'll keep somewhere safe). Yes, I've probably lost money by doing it this way, but it's my money to waste.

The end result is that the PC works well which is what matters in the end for me.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Reinstall the upgrade to Adobe Pro XI

My hard drive has failed, so I need to reinstall Pro XI, an upgrade of Standard 9, that I bought for a single price.  I have the correct keys for both products. I downloaded Pro XI, enter the activation key, which he accepted.  However, in order to open Pro XI, the program takes me to a "Serial number upgrade" screen.  The drop is looking for the previous version - without doubt Standard 9 - validating the upgrade.  As a result, thinking that I must begin with 9 Standard, I deleted Pro XI, in charge of 9 Standard, but it does not recognize the activation key for this version.  I'm unable to move forward.  What should I do?

When you install acrobat xi Setup detects a serial number update.  It will then search for a product calling it (for example, acrobat std 9), there is failure to find that you will be able to select the product in a drop-down list.  You will then be asked to enter the serial number of the eligible product (ie, acrobat std 9).

If you enter the correct number to the correct installation of the xi ends.

  • Reinstall the upgrade.

I got Photoshop CS5 a CS update.  My computer crashed, I need to reinstall CS5. Reading the forums, I discovered that I could download CS2 because the activation server is down for CS and CS2. I did and it is installed. However, CS5 will not install as it is said that the serial number for the CS2 is not a qualifying product. What can I do?

Chances are that you need to use the serial number of your purchase of CS.  If you are unable to work things out you must contact Adobe Support by chat or phone when you have the serial number and activation problems.

  • Can not reinstall the upgrade of MS CS6 with CS4 MS series

My organization purchased upgrade CS6 Master Suite in which we used a serial number CS4 Master Suite we had owned in December of 2012. The installation was very good. I'm now doing a clean install of a new SSD volume and it is is not letting me use the serial number CS4 MS, saying: this isn't a product calling. I thought maybe it was because I had always installed on another volume, so I disabled that settle, but I still got the same message.

    Anyone else having this problem?

No, the CS4 was purchased in 12/2009, so it has nothing to do with the window of upgrade of last year. Or at least it shouldn't be!

I was talking about buying CS6 not CS4 - and if the CS6 Installer got his calendar and upgrade windows mixed up. But forget this thought. A Kipper irrelevant.

Simply contact Adobe since the user forums can help you with serial number problems.
