Removable storage access is denied
Hello world
Before my question, I'm not 100% sure that it is related to Windows 7 or Windows Server. Please let me know if I'm wrong.
A few weeks ago I had to block access to all classes of removable storage to a group of 5 users or more in the company. So I used the "Computer Configuration" GPO (Computer Configuration > administrative templates > system > removable storage access > classes all removable storage: deny access for all 'Active'.) I applied it to the users, and it worked fine. From there, they were able to use the key USB, CD, etc... After awhile, it was decided by the administration they could get access to rear. So I removed the GPO of these users. After some time, users are complaining that access was denied again. From there on, here's my resolve the path
- I did a GPRESULT and I could see that the GPO has been applied.
- I looked to the top of local computer policy (gpedit.msc) and this setting is not configured
- I looked upward in the event viewer in the computers and the domain controller, nothing interesting found
- I tried to make a GPUPDATE/force and restart
- I tried to remove the computer from the Active Directory and join it back to the field
- The GPO still exists, but not applied to users having the problem, I tried with 2 computers of third parties to reproduce the problem. I applied the GPO, denied access to all removable storage classes. I délettrée the GPO and access to all removable storage classes to restore.
At this point, I don't know what to do. It has been a little hours (days) now that I searched on the internet about this problem and the only user I found that solved this problem, solved by formatting computers upward... This isn't the solution, I want to use.
Please note that these users are in a connected remote site MPLS to the main site and there is a DC in each site and also the replication works very well.
Best regards
Mike

Access is denied when trying to remove the videos.
Trying to remove a couple of old videos and when I try to delete them I get cannot delete access is denied... Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not in use. How do I remove them.
The standard answer to this used to be download Unlocker, but this file is now shipped with some adware and may be refused by your anti-virus application.
So if you do not want the adware, the following steps should work (but no guarantee)
- Determine where the files are located (for example, C:\Documents and utilisateur\Mes Documents\My videos Settings\nom)
- Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
- Using the cd (change directory) command, navigate to the directory where the files are located. Once you think you're in the right directory, use the dir command to list all the files in the directory and make sure that those you want to remove is here
- Leave the command prompt window, start the task (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Manager
- Under the processes tab, find explorer.exe, right click and select "End process" (at this point, your desktop will be empty except for the command prompt window and the Task Manager)
- Return to the command prompt window and use the command del (delete) to delete files
- After you delete the files, open the Task Manager, click file > new task (run), type explorer.exe, and then click OK
- Close the command prompt window and the Task Manager

Impossible to remove the hplj1020.inf package. Access is denied. »someone knows what's the problem? the prnter is not yet connected. Must not be in use. The problem I had was that the stuff sent to the printer seems to sit and take 15 ins to print a test page.
How can I remove the drivers?
Stop the print spooler service, and then start the print spooler service. Now, delete the print driver and packaging. Alan Morris Windows printing team seek here Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/search/Default.aspx?adv=1

Hello
I intend to control the reading and writing of removable storage devices using Windows Server 2008 GPO.
However, after reading the online group policy settings, when I tried to apply the GPO settings, I found that 'Access to removable storage' folder is missing from the group policy under administrative Templates\Systems.
Please suggest others.
Thank you

Once it is removed, try a free antivirus, I use MSE, but you have to read the instructions first!

If you choose to use Mcafee, download autoruns, which shows which takes over at the start and you can disable here.
AUTORUNS

Above is autoruns to loadup questions
If you still can't find the entry in the registry, download Autoruns. Let it finish the scanning, then click the Services tab. Find the name of the service 'wrong' in the left column ("Autorun entry"). Right click and select ' go to '. You will go straight to the appropriate entry in the registry for editing.
I would like to examine what you load at startup. You should see if you have any programs from loading during the startup process, which can be changed on request.
With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.
Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item. When you use Autoruns, you will need to click on the "Connection" tab to see what runs at startup.

Hi dgxp64,
· The computer is on a domain network?
Method 1: Temporarily disable the antivirus on the computer program and check if it helps. If it works, you may need to check the settings of the program.
Note: Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.

Access is denied on external hard drive
Hello. I get the following message appears when I try to access my external hard drive: G:\ Access is denied. Cannot open the file, access is denied
I recently put a password on my user in XP Pro, and when I went to reconnect it does not recognize the password. Not sure if I've mistyped when I entered it or what. I logged in SafeMode as administrator, removed the password of this user, and he gave me a message about the saved passwords, etc.
I am now able to connect to my user, but all the files that I had encrypted long ago now cannot be opened. I tried to decipher them and I get access is denied message. I can not open them as an administrator.
Any thoughts?
Now that I got the login figured out, I returned and changed the password to an old password and now I have access to these files. Decryption of now.

The backup computer fails with the error "access is denied. (0x80070005) »
original title: computer backup failure
My computer will be back up to a point, then will be an error "access is denied. (0x80070005) "at the same time, Microsoft security essentials SAIS it detects a potential threat.
My question is this: if he stops because it detects a corrupted file? or is there an error with a certain application that prevents a full backup?
Hi Cyberwasp35,
· Exactly how are you trying to backup?
· You run the computer as an administrator?
· Have you tried a backup on an external hard drive?
Try the following steps.
Step 1
Perform an online scan to remove the threat detected by the basics of Microsoft security during the backup process
To make online scan click on the link below:
Online analysis of Microsoft security essentials
http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
Try to disable antivirus software and check if the backup is successful.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Step 2
This error can also occur because the recovery partition is enabled for the file backup or restore of the system and is almost full. To work around this problem, do not select D:\ as a backup source. In addition, go to the System Protection in Control Panel and make sure that D:\ is not activated for restore points.
(1) open the backup and restore by clicking on the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking the backup and restore.
2) click change settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
(3) clear the partition D drive if it is selected, and then try to backup again
Check if the service is stopped or started. Change it to start if it is stopped. The service name is windows backup.

Managing removable storage in windows 7
I replaced my computer that was running Windows Xp Professional with the new one running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. The only way I can access my documents is backup of windows xp (.bkf) but windows 7 will not read these files. I tried many suggestions from the microsoft site, but it all comes down to the fact that RMS is not able to be activated. I see that you said in November 2009 that it would be corrected when windows 7 has been generally use. I don't have a hard drive for use work transfer.

What is the removable storage management?
I just checked the "turn windows features on or off" and I noticed that the "removable storage management" is turned OFF. I used a hard drive portable USB and flash drives since I have this computer without problem.
What does the "removable storage management"? I can't find something more descriptive than the presentation text short I get when you hold the mouse pointer.
This is the most I can find:
http://www.blackviper.com/wiki/Removable_StorageIf my portable USB drive, my USB key and my DVD +/-RW do not count as removable storage requiring this feature, what? I use all these devices at least once a week without a problem.
Besides, someone you will suggest a guide to access descriptions of best of all find under "turn Windows features On or Off? Some are self-explanatory such as TFTP, Telnet and games, but others I'm not sure as RIP. Why would I need RIP on the home (client) version of Windows and why only RIP version 1 that does not support CIDR.

You use the wrong search engine. I found enough things for the reading of the week of research management removable storage on Bing.
