  • remove the adapter write protection and usb/microsd card

Put a micro sd card into the adapter and since I opened it I'm impossible to delete files, format the drive e., Cup etc. When the drive is disconnected Ican manipulate the files which have been locked with the drive connected. The share in the properties of the drive button is untouchable and I tried some tools to format the troubed drive and nothing has worked so far. It affects all my usb ports no matter where I connect the sd adapter. How can I change the access point so E is not write protected?

good people, I can't send or delete files on my flash key because it reads: write protected... How can I get rid of these wastes?

    (1) the flash player can have a write protect or lock, switch on it - if it is it opens.

  • How can I write protect a USB

I have an external USB formatted drive for Max OX extended (journaled). He has a backup of my music collection so I want to write protect it so that it can be READ and not deleted or all files deletion. How this is possible - running an iMac and El Capitan.

I've tried right-clicking on the drive and the subfolders in the Finder and by changing the attributes of read/write READ ONLY for me and all the world, but I can always delete individual files.

    Thank you.

You must disable the attribute "Ignore permissions" on the external hard drive. Just do a Get Info (command I) command on the volume desired in a Finder window and then downstairs there is a checkbox Check titled "Ignore permissions on this volume" - uncheck the box so that the ownership rules are now used for its content, then the privileges you set for those who can read and write should be respected.

Note that this applies only to external volumes that I think - the internal disk volumes does not have this checkbox "Ignore permissions" is checked.

    Good luck...

  • Do write protect my USB on other computers

    Hello

    Hope that you are well.

I want to make a usb drive write protected, I found this as a solution:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies]
    "WriteProtect" = DWORD: 00000001

But it has drawbacks for me:

It does not work on another computer.

I want to make USB write protect my computer and when I use my USB on another computer or my friend bring this USB and use it on his computer, then it should be write protect automatically.

    I'm working on Windows 7.

    Hello

If the individual USB came not with the top software to enable write protection, then it is not possible to do so, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the USB equipment to see if they have available to install software that enables this feature.

in Window 7 Ultimate. When I want to create a file or paste a file copied to a USB port or flash memory, windows cannot perform this action and the message: the disk is write protected.but when I used the same USB Win XP, disc is OK and not write-protected.
I tried this question on several USB key, but the result was the same.
    anydody can help me?

    Hi Saleh2506,

You can try and remove the disc, remove the write protection (by reversing a tab on the disk), and then try again.

If you do not have the valve on the USB, try the following steps to resolve the problem:

    1. Click Start , type regedit.exe and press ENTER.

    2. navigate to the following location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrrentControlSet\Control

    3. control with the right mouse button and select new and key.

    4. call it as StorageDevicePolicies.

    5. click on StorageDevicePolicies and on the right pan right click and select new > DWORD and name it as WriteProtect.

6 double-click it and set its value to 0.

This will disable the write protection on USB/flash drives.

Restart your computer and check to see if that fixes the problem.

Important The above section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • How to remove the floppy write protection

How can I remove write Protection from a disk 1.3 MB

Sometimes the switch 'cursor' on diskettes 3,5 "bit was removed (to create the disk read-only permanently). If this is the case, then just put a piece of opaque tape over the 'hole' (where the slider switch was)... and you'll be able to write to the diskette.

If you hold the diskette if you are looking at the rear, the slider switch (or a hole where was the slide switch) is at the bottom RIGHT.

Please note that the 3.5-inch disks came in various capacities (the two most common are 720 KB and 1.44 MB. If you hold the diskette, then you're looking at the back, then there will be a hole on the bottom LEFT, which is used to indicate the command what is the capacity of the disk. If my memory is good, there will be a hole in the bottom LEFT (when you see the back of the disc), for drives with capacity of 1.44 MB, and if no hole is on bottom LEFT, then the floppy drive is 720 KB.

My point... If you need to put a piece of opaque tape over the hole where the playback cursor / writing has been (to make writable disk), don't forget to put tape over the hole at the bottom RIGHT (looking at the BACK of the disc... and 'back', I mean the side without label and where can be seen the axis of the disc).
