Repair and recovery

I have a Gateway laptop, model NE56R41u, and it crashed. I got a blue screen saying that it was damaged and needed repaired and I need recovery disks. I has ordered the bridge that I do not have a game when I got the laptop. I ran the disks, there are 5, system, 1-3 recovery disks drive and disc language. When I arrive at the end of the 3rd disk it says that it load to 100%.  Then comes BACK black screen and it says it is loading.  Then I get this message: restore failed - cannot find image. Path:C:/IMAGES_TMPDIR/install.wim. What should I do to fix my laptop? I've done 10 times with the same error. Thank you.

Well instead of using the version of the gateway, you can get the files from recovery of Windows and do it with files recovery of Plains Microsoft instead.  The only downside to this method is that when you are finished, you will need to go to the site of the gateway and download drivers for your model of PC.

    How the system repair and recovery is possible in windows vista Home premium which is preinstalled on toshiba satellite model? because I havn't windows disk.

    For a startup repair disk:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    Here are the various ways to reinstall Vista:

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • Repair system and recovery for Windows XP
    Windows XP > system repair and recovery
    June 25,2010, to increase my internet speed high speed, my grandson changes made, removing and adding things. I tried to repair and recover the changes, but were unable to. Recover was unable to recover. I'm unable to open all the files, they can be found. Have I not options to recover my XP for the date, he incredibly did these changes?
    Be gentle, old... and try to learn
    Well, what he was doing was passed me to google Chrome, which, said, has increased the speed of the internet (he said it was slow) it then apparently deleted some of my Windows programs. He said some Windows updates were too old and I no longer need. I tried to go back to June 24 to get things deleted, but recovery has given me a different date of July 13 and would not allow the date 24. On the recovery screen, programs that have been deleted on June 25 have been identified, which is how do I know that it was deleted.
    Even if it is very slow, you must make a return upwards before the race "repair disk". The risk of data loss is minimal, but do it anyway: Save and run to repair the disk.
    As for what it implies - most of the time nothing more than simply sitting and waiting to do his thing.
  • Lenovo 3000 N200 - cannot access Rescue and Recovery - MBR poss problem?
    I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 sick who was running XP home. I could not start XP and can only access the Rescue and Recovery utility in the Lenovo recovery Partition that would be to rebuild the hard drive to factory settings IE. Windows XP with no data. I managed to copy the data using a Paragon backup cd and then made the fatal mistake of attempting a repair MBR, which was a very tempting option on the Paragon rescue cd. Now, not only it does not boot to XP, but I can run is even more Rescue and Recovery to reinstall XP which is the problem!
    If I boot with windows install disc and take the option recovery console it stops, statement that "recovery console could not find the hard drives connected to your computer. Setup cannot continue. "
    I was wondering if someone another backup MBR restore could help me with this?
    So, if someone has a Lenovo 3000 N200 work and is willing to try to save the MBR to send it to me, then please get in touch. It is probably useful to make a backup for yourself where the same problems happen to you!  In my view, there are a bunch of programs that backup the MBR for example MBRtool, MBRWizard and so on.
    Any ideas, offer accepted with gratitude.
    Yes I know I could buy the Lenovo recovery disk, but it is a matter of principle for me avoid paying £50 or so if I can avoid it! We'll see if we can help here...
    Thank you
    Simonides
    I am pleased Andyp!
    The solution was to set the primary partition to inactive and value the recovery partition Active, then restart and use the Lenovo Care button (now finally works) to access the function of recovery so I could return the laptop to factory State.
    No doubt there are plenty of ways to do it, but the approach I took to solve this problem is released under
    1. use another PC to download Paragon backup and restore (I actually used the trial edition now but the free edition may have a similar feature)
    2nd burn a CD bootable backup and recovery 10.0.
    3. start the CD Lenovo, and after a long wait, a menu should appear with 11 options, the first of them being Paragon backup and restore.
    4. Select Paragon backup and restore.
    5 select properties in the pick a task window and you will see two partitions, a big enough (in my case Go 143, called Preload) and the other is quite small (6 GB called SERVICEV001).
    Note: this is an opportunity brilliant to use the Back Up Partition option to make a backup on external drive USB of the two partitions as the reconstruction of the hard drive with Lenovo Care button you will lose all data.
    6 right-click the partition preloads and select Edit and set idle
    7. made the SERVICEV001 partition right click and select Edit and set the Active
    8 remove the backup and recovery of CD and put it somewhere safe
    9. restart the PC and Lenovo Care button (might be called something different) should now work, allowing you to restore the hard drive to factory settings which will erase all data of a personal nature. You did a backup?
    10 Windows should then start as usual, reinstall Paragon backup and restore, and restore your data.
    Finally, look at this as a lesson to
    (a) you get a writable DVD and use the Lenovo menu under windows to create a floppy disk from Lenovo rescue and recovery started.
    (b) use Paragon or equivalent to create copies of images of each partition and ordinary differential copies of the primary partition.
    I hope this will help other owners who have a hidden rescue for example partition. IBM and HP and would like to receive feedback.
    Finally, I must acknowledge assistance patient e-mail provided by Taisia Smirnova Paragon support by offering me this solution.
    best, Simonides
    Hello
    This process will allow you to do a Vista repair disc. This isn't an installation disc, but will allow you to use the Vista Recovery Console that is available on commercial versions of Vista.
    Download the file from the link below.
    Vista 64-bit
    It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip, when installed, right-click on the zipped folder, select extract files and then click Ok.  You should now see another folder containing the ISO file.
    You will need software to burn the ISO to a CD.  If you don't have that guy on the software installed, download and install ImgBurn and use it to burn the ISO to a CD.
    Once you have created the Vista repair disk, follow the guide on the link below to see if it undertakes to repair your installation - you may need to run this several times.
  • Restore a full backup of disk created using HP Backup and Recovery Manager
    I have a PC (dc7800) was complaining about the hard drive is about to fail so before you do the replaced disk, I ran a full disc backup in the hope that it would make restoreing the PC to its previous 'glorious' State reasonably easy. He created 3 DVD full of files. Now that the PC has been returned, I can't get the manager backup and restore see backup and restore their! What the feck I'm doing wrong? Does anyone have instructions on how to get this thing to work?
    DVDs have a VHD file and a bunch of XML files. When I go to the recovery of the PC and select this option to restore to a point in time, I can navigate the OFN records DVD but no backup appears, I click Next and it just collapses the tree to the DVD player again! I'm doing my head here!
    it... due fixed so that it is an OEM of Vista version with no support, I couldn't 'fix' under Advanced Startup option. I was able to get an ISO image of a boot to boot with Vista Recovery on that drive. From here, I was able to run a repair and restore a backup PC.
    There is no exchange of free display.  You will pay is the AppleCare + fresh incident (if you bought AC +), or the elimination of guaranteed replacement costs / costs of replacing the screen.  Your best bet would be to visit the Apple store with a genius bar appointment.
  • The driver installation of Bootcamp in Windows 10 causing "Automatic repair" and failing to repair
    As the title sums up the problem, here's the rest of the story. I have an iMac 2013 21 "with the latest version of Mac OS x (El Capitan) and also the latest version of the Bootcamp Assistant. I downloaded Windows 10 Pro (free academic version of the University) through the Bootcamp Assistant on a 300 GB partition successfully. Everything seems to work fine until after I download the bootcamp assistant. Then the screen turns black and starts in mode "Auto repair" and fails to actually repair. I then reset it and try again. I tried for more than a week to get to the bottom of this and the problem seems to appear just after I installed the bootcamp drivers.
    So, basically, the computer works well most (without noise, brightness, some functions of the mouse keys, etc.) when I do not install the bootcamp drivers.
    I want to just my apple keyboard and mouse and my sound to work when I'm using Windows. Is there a way to fix the bootcamp drivers? Or can I install some of them individually to avoid having my computer from scratch?
