Replication fails

Hello.I am trying to configure replication between two networks.

Currently I can ping the IP Address of the Group of the other SAN since the two without, but I can't
Ping the address of the interface. What could cause a behavior like this? How is the IP of the Group
different interface IPs?

No NAT or a firewall between the two, just a router with no access that affects this configuration list. I just removed all the configurations of replication Manager group and then added again, and I seem to be able to copy the data across. I'll let keep running to see if she can finish.

The core of the incoming replication generated the alert.  The core of the Source, who has the clichés of the Agent cannot send data. I get these quiet often because of network problems. The system would normally try again based on your settings.

  • Replication fails with the-501 error

    Hi all

My replica jobs suddenly all fail with error - 501 (I can't find any info one that means), but that's what shows the log to replicate:

    Replicate version1.3.0 generation R2

    From backup

    Folder lock target: /...

    X the connection - 501 error code

X please verify the network connection between the devices

This worked very well for months since the last update 6.5.1 I'm not aware of any changes that I made in each of the configurations.

Both RN do not appear in ReadyCloud, Replicate sees the two RN in the network tab but when starting a job to replicate my local RN on the RN remote I get the above fault message.

I am very reluctant to upgrade to 6.5.2 that it worked very well on 6.5.1 for so long and I did not really pleasant experiences for the latest updates...

Someone at - it similar experiences (I'm inclined to think that the issue is on the server to replicate as it happened before that jobs has failed for a period, but succeeded after a few days without any changes on my side.

Any suggestion that means this error - 501 (and how to fix it)?

And if all fails, I'm getting a little tired of the repeated questions, someone at - it an installation of certificates SSH on the RN to activate RSYNC over SSH?

    Any comment is very appreciated!

Yes, just tried it and got that job, turns out that apart from the source and target parameters that needs to be identical to the old job, also the name of the work is essential, it must be exactly the same as the lost job. (on the target files side are stored in a folder named after the name of the task, found that rather confused, but either way, once you are aware of it...)

Don't have that and I got my old RESUME jobs where they left, it looks like I'm back in business.

  • Best Senario distributed virtual machine between SAN LUNS and replication fail over Senario

What the best best Senario for the installation of virtual machines on Big LUN or each VM on LUNS dedicated:

We planninig to implement 70 virtual machines on Esx 3.5 servers with replication LUN usisng CA of HP 7.

using 4 Big 800 GB data store on SAN RAID 5 Lun (each LUN will be contains 16 VMS)? or each VM will be deployed in separate small LUN 50 GB data store on SAN, RAID 5 and that this effect on the failure during the procedure on the DR Site if we choose BIG LUNs, also if this virtual machine includes 3 disks (store them on each disk on the different data store or the same data store)

    Thank you

Remember that the virtual machine is a set of files and these files directly in your data store.  If you have a large store of data with multiple virtual machines, you must replicate the full data on the alternative site store in order to get to that data.  You can't really use greater SAN replication for just the simple vm in a data store.  SAN replication is not really aware of what is stored on it, she replied just blocks he knows.  You can copy the vm files individually as well, but it's more than a copy and not replication.  Otherwise, if you are concerned about vs some other vm, then using a small LUN would work better for you, or warehouses of data at multiple levels allows you to replicate the vm that are important to you and put the rest in a larger data store.

FCIP/FC/IP doesn't really matter.  Until a table can talk to each other, you're fine.  Our secondary site is hundreds of miles away, and replicate us very well during the period of INQUIRY, from one table to the other.

Yes, without SRM, you will need to manually register a virtual machine at the time, or write a script to work through all the.

  • Replication of database ACS SE 3.3.3

    HelloW

I have some problems with replication of database with 2 ACS SE 3.3.3

On each ACS, I have configured the other FAC as ACS server.

On primary, I moved the ACS secondary to a replication partner.

Secondary, I did not move primary ACS to a replication partner.

Shared key is the same on the two ACS...

In the journal of primary education: replication send ok

In the high school newspaper: replication failed: Secret do not match!

    Secrets are absolutely!

    What can be the problem?

    Thank you

    Remco

"Shared Secret Mismatch" means that the key to the primary in the primary or the secondary server does not.

I suggest to enter secret key on free primary entry and the entry of the primary server to the secondary server.

  • ACS appliance 4.2 - database replication internal problem

    HelloW

    I'm yunchoul jung in Korea

now I'm setting up ACS unit 1113 ver4.2

in internal, primary and secondary database replication server ACS cannot repliacate the database due to the configuration of SELF (127.0.0.1) by default in the configuration of the network.

so I have a guestion, how do I replace 127.0.0.1 address to the ip address you want or delete SELF (127.0.0.1) address

I don't understand a procedure of solution in the documentation below.

Thank you for your help in advance

Problem: 127.0.0.1 is a reserved address

You have two units of the ACS SE 1113 and replicate the database internal from the primary to the secondary.

but you notice this error message in the secondary unit:

Replication of database of ACS denied - incompatibility of secret shared incoming

When you try to change the key of course AAA under Network Configuration Server error message is

    returned.

This is due to a known bug,

Symptom: 127.0.0.1 address appears in ACS and the replication fails

    Conditions:

    Install Acs S/W version 4.2.0.124

    Disable the network adapter

    Enable network card

    * Go to the network settings page.

    * Should see the AA server IP to be a return loop

    Workaround solution:

For windows: remove the 127.0.0.1 entry

For the device: back up the database, install ACS on windows, restore, delete

the entry, make a backup and restore on the device

  • Violation of VMWare replication RPO

We deploy VMware replication as part of a disaster recovery plan. Currently we have all ESXi hosts in the same room server, directly connected with each other to solve problems and test the replication before moving the DR ESXi host at the remote site. Over the weekend, there was a violation of RPO in which he took 4 hours to replicate 15 minutes RPO. When you try to recover from this error, the only option was to stop and reconfigure replication that has deleted all the files on the host computer of DR and restarting replication from scratch. It is a server of 3TO, if I take this host to a remote site and that this happen, it could take a week to get out all the data again the WAN link. Is there any other way to retrieve an error of RPO? If this is not the case, this seems to be a severe design flaw. There should be a way to say "ok, ignore replication failed and try again"?

Using ESXi 5.5 on the guest and VMware 5.5 replication apparatus.

Thanks in advance for any help or comments.

    Joel

    Hi Joel,

How it was decided that "the only option was to stop and reconfigure replication?

You can view the events in vCenter on the VM source? There should be more details on the size of the delta package and at the start of the delta and if he had any questions.

The violation of the RPO is usually the result of the connectivity issue between source ESXi and server target VR (source ESXi vmkernel.log and events in vCenter will have details) or between server VR target and target data store (/ var/log/vmware/hbsrv * will have details).

If the connectivity (or the performance of the network) was not a temporary problem, there will be events on the source of the virtual machine with the increase of the current values of RPO violation (in minutes).

It is perhaps open an SR and download the support beams for the source ESXi, vCenter and target server VR.

Stop replication automatically deletes all of the drives, which was initially implemented by VR. Only discs that have been used as initial seeds will be left. It is a known (and I agree - should somewhat not) behavior.

If the issue leading to the violation of the APR was transitory, the source ESXi will automatically plan a new instance of the replica, no need to sync manually, request although it wouldn't hurt.

    Kind regards

    Thank you

    Here are the answers:

    1)
    (a) only the part of the sentence 'COMMIT LOCAL ACTION VALIDATION' implies whenever replication fails on the Subscriber, so the update will be hired locally on master? that is, it is actually becomes a commit sustainable.

CJ > if there is a timeout of servcie to return for a transaction twosafe the default behavior is that the transaction state remains "pending" and the appl; ication must include logic to keep retrying the validation until it succeeds or the application decides to abandon. By configuring LOCAL ACTION COMMIT ENTER, when a timeout occurs the transaction committed locally the band except manipulation (or ignore) the return servcie timeout warningf application has no need to make special anythnin.

    (b) only apply to the timeout for replication scenario? What about other cases where commit at the Subscriber cannot be done.

CJ > it applies to delays. If you get a different kind of validation error then the application must decide what to (force a local commit or rollback).

    (2) if we do not have the expression of DISABLE RETURN as above, would be 'SUSTAINABLE ON COMMETTRE' and 'SUMMARY BACK' always to news?

CJ > COMMETTRE SUSTAINABLE can be valid deoending on other factors, RETIURN RESUME is not valid (or useful)

in other words, if we decide to stop the replication agent after failover mode standby
    -service back end
-txn on master will commit sustainable
-the return service will resume automatically when the replication agent is started again (after the replication problem is fixed)

CJ > I guess you mean "failure" of the day before. Yes, with this configuration, you should see the behavior that yopu described above. The curriculum VITAE of RETURN should not be necessary.

  • VM wants to drive consolidation, but no snapshots are listed in the Snapshot Manager

After a replication failed with VEEAM, I get this on one of my virtual machines:

    "Configuration problems.

Disks of virtual machines-building is necessary. »

without having any snapshots indicate Manager snapshots.

The name of the drive listed under 'change settings' does, that the disk is a snapshot, however.

How to solve this problem properly?

    Best regards, Lars.

The two option should work fine even when the virtual machine is running. According to the snapshot sizes, deleting it may take a while so please be patient.

PS: A thought if the Basic virtual disk is thin and put into operation, make sure that you have enough of free disk space on the data store before starting the deletion/consolidation!

  • Virtualize 2 DC to create the test environment

    Hi guys,.

I wonder if someone could help me find a solution.

I mainly want to improve our main DC - which holds Exchange 2000 (Yes, I know DC should not accommodate exchange roles, but this has been done before coming here)-between Windows 2000 and 2003, and then later this year, I'm going to buy a few new servers and migrate completely (and virtualize!) for 2008 and properly put in place the field.  So before you go ahead and perform the upgrade on our production servers, I thought that I would give to virtualize the domain controller using the VMWare converter. Everything seemed to happen, but when I pulled to the top of the virtual machine (in an environment test, completely isolated from true DC) and ran "adprep /forestprep" he said that he did not because he could not replicate to the schema master role is maintained on our other DC.  No problem, I thought, I'll just do a virtual schema master computer and connect them and everything will be fine.  Of course, then the replication failed between the two virtual machines, because the USN differed so I know now that it is not as simple as that.

What I want to know is the following: is there anyway I can get my scenario of two DC in a virtual environment to test the updates on WITHOUT cold clone? I'm just saying that I want to do without cold cloning because our main DC took 13 hours to fully virtualize it.  I know I can get round to again the error USN downgrade our second DC and then perform the other steps to do, but I want it to be close as possible DC production simulation and production servers can replicate perfectly, so this step will apply when I do my real upgrade.

Any thoughts on how / if I can achieve this?

    Thanks for any thoughts.

  • Archiver troubleshooting - asking for ideas!

I have exported the data using archive on our production site and does not try to import into the development. It's Content Server 11.1.1.5 on 64-bit Linux. I removed the other dates of the export.hda file before you import it.

Currently, I get to 42.10% full and it seems to just stop working. No error message. The bottom of the windows archive said treatment abc123456 of the content item.

What are the potential problems? How can I find them?

How can I restart archive in the same place, he stopped processing? (Simply restart seems just to reprocess the entire record and stop once again at the same piece of content.)

    Thank you

    Ken

The ArchiverReplicationsException component is for the situation where a particular replication fails. In this case, the component allows to set a location where placing the job failed and react for example by sending an e-mail to the admiistrator. This frees up the archiver to continue with the next job. However, if the process simply hangs, I doubt that his absence is the source of your problem.

If the note indicated by the first response does not help, you will need to study the problem by activating the detailed follow-up. It's slot-> Audit Information System. n the detailed follow-up section, check the box and set check them *, requestaudit and systemdatabase in the field of tracing sections:

-systemdatabase will tell you what exact query is running when the problem occurs. You can rerun the query, if she seems to be a matter of database as a database lock.

-entries in requestaudit help you understand how many requests is processed and how long they take. If it is purely a performance problem, it might help.

-archiver * watch archiver process (it is the trace of archiver comment) archiver so many problems with locks.
