Restart host ESX of VIC is suspended, stop command fails, the remote host, read the console screen?

Tried to reboot a host and he initiated from the VI client.  I remember the last time he hung at the stage of closing - I think it was something like 'stop vmware autostart' therefore it is without doubt that.  My questions are:

Is there a way to read the screen remotely to check?

Is it possible to restart remotely using 'killall' or something (already tried "shutdown - r now" – does not work because it is suspended)?

You should be able to connect a serial console, if you want to be able to view the screen remotely in case of failure like this, but the rest would you require to have a sort of management lights out for the type of server you use.  Sun a LOM, HP's ILO, Dell DRAC, to name a few.  Otherwise, you can also get some type of a managed UPS device, which can help you power cycle remote as well.

Why don't my notification pulldown screen stopped working on my iphone 6?

    Hi Nomoitunes,

I understand that you are not able to open the screen of Notifications on your iPhone 6.  This feature has never worked on your iPhone?  What iOS version are you running?

To get notifications, you must be connected to a Wi - Fi or cellular network. If you do not get notifications for a specific application, try the following steps:

    1. Make sure that the application supports notifications. Go to settings > Notifications, select the application and ensure that Notifications are enabled, and 'Show in Notification Center' and "Show on lock screen" are enabled as well.
    2. Make sure that you are connected to your Apple ID on your iOS device. Go to settings > iTunes & App Stores and enter your Apple ID and password.
    3. Make sure you do not disturb is turned off. Go to settings > do not disturb and tap manual if it is enabled.

If you are still unable to swipe down on the home screen to access Notifications, try to restart your iPhone.

  • Why start stop process to the Intel screen?

Today, I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro. When the Setup program is finished, it has shown a dialog box suggest that I restart. I clicked on the button restart in the box and the PC wen through the part of the normal shutdown of a reboot, but when my PC started the boot process it must the Intel blue scree (displaying the logo and some angular lines in the background) and just stopped there. HDD activity stopped. I waited about a minute. Then forced a stoppage via the button on the front of my PC. Then reused the same button start the machine upward. Even stop at the scree of Intel. So I go through the whole process once again and the PC stops to the Intel screen. At this point, I pick up my Symantec Recovery Disk backup and prepare to restore the C drive from weekly backups who puts Norton Ghost on an external USB hard disk. As I'm so, Windows moves past the Intel screen and into a normal startup. Checked and Acrobat has been installed OK and works.  My question is not only why it happened, but there is a possibility there was a sort of damage the disk? Should I run a kind of diagnosis?

Took it to a repair shop well and they found a simple problem. Windows XP (or at least mine) don't like to have my new Western Digital My Passport Essential SE external USB plugged in at boot time. If it is not connected, the PC boots fine.

    Hey Spoony

Unfortunately on this path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Each user has a specific configuration OS and we don t know how your operating system is configured.

You can boot OS in safe mode? If Yes check what the problem may be a little. If there is anything you can do I recommend you save all your data and preinstall unit using rescue media. If you do this I recommend also to create two partitions.

Don t compare WXP and Linux startup procedure. As you know that Knoppix using just the RAM and no HARD drive for the race.

  • Fingerprint reader stops regularly at the login screen (HP dv7 notebook)

    I use a HP laptop dv7-6197 ca, LYA068UA # with windows 7 64-bit.

This issue has been produced since I bought my laptop at Staples last year. Sometimes, after the computer ' to wake-up "from sleep mode, I will try to unlock it using the integrated fingerprint scanner and will not work. It happens maybe every time 1 of 5 the computer comes out of standby mode. I know that this can be corrected by restarting just the computer, but it is a major nuisance, especially since I use my laptop every day at the College, and shut down the computer and then restarting him wasting valuable time. Is there a way to fix this? I tried reinstalling the drivers but it doesn't seem to work! Please help this really bugs me.

The only thing you can do is make sure that power management is set on the device so that the system will not actually turn it off.

Control Panel > display icon > Device Manager > biometric devices >

Validity Sensor right click > properties > Power Management >

Clear the check BOX "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

The problem seems worse on some systems that others - I launches SimplePass on several laptops.  I do see that sometimes.  It's a pain in the...  I'm not seen as often lately.  I am running the latest version of HP SimplePass everywhere.

I don't know about you, but I think the latest version of AuthenTec seems slightly more robust all around.

IF, IF the cause is not entirely due to the way the fingerprinter device is managed by the Device Manager, you may have more luck if you can upgrade to the latest version of the software.

    • AuthenTec HP SimplePass 5.4.0.620 is compatible with Vadlidty 4.3.205.0 sensor.
    • You can override this version 620 without removing your current version of SimplePass.
    • BEFORE you install the latest version, DO export your webcards (create a backup of the .tsd):

    Export the Webcard database:

If you have working software SimplePass, export your Webcards before proceeding.  In the case where you must remove the SimplePass software, your webcard backup can be used (imported) to restore your Web site login information.

Start SimplePass > parameters > export NOTE: file will be called *.tsd

    Rules: order of events

    • Pilot installs the first
    • Software installs following
    • If you change anything significant, you can expect things to complain.  It is not a big deal in good standing.
    • Uninstall the driver, although the Device Manager - restart and allow the system to reinstall the driver that you log on.
    • Then, install the software.  All ready installed?  The "repair" bell'attacco (below)...
    • Configuration software
    • Import your backup .tsd

If you change something or get into trouble later:

    • Go to programs, find the software, do a right click and "repair" of the software.  This resinstalls the software without destroying your password database.
    • THEN RESTART the system.

Yes, I know - but it's Windows.  He loves a good reset.  And this software like a good restart more than a few other software packages.

    Hi Alegreen,

    ·         You receive an error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: Start in safe mode and do a System Restore to a point before the show.

See Advanced startup options (including safe mode) for more information about starting in safe mode.

It was working fine until yesterday (including yesterday it worked), when a message from automatic upgrade HP was shown to informing him that the system needs to be restarted. After that, my second monitor stopped working. The system will not identify it more. I tried another cable, I rebooted several times, I tried to update the specific Intel graphics driver, I tried to uninstall and install manually another (I can't get this one done, because when I run manually downloaded driver there is a message saying that I need to contact the manufacturer). • Windows hangs at the splash screen (Windows startup screen), but works after restart

I encountered this problem recently. On my Dell XPS M1530, when I turn on the laptop after a few hours, windows gets stuck at the start-up screen. I restart it once, and once again, it gets stuck on the start screen. But when I restart twice, windows starts successfully.

When I turned off the computer and launch until it is physically hot, then windows starts successfully. But when I start the computer after his East become physically cold to room temperature, again the problem starts. I've never seen this kind of problem never or don't want to believe that windows or equipment can be affected by temperatures. It's almost as if windows starts up when the laptop is pretty hot.

Anyone any idea what the problem is?

    Hello

As you experience the same in Safe Mode, it may be the case of a faulty hardware or a damaged system file. However, we can run a Microsoft Fix itfirst to troubleshoot your Windows system performance and restart your device after execution of this. If the problem persists, we can also try the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. After execution of the auditor of the files System tool you will see the result, if there is a file system damaged the cause of the problem.

If there is no corrupted files, it is indeed a defective hardware, and we ask you to contact your manufacturer to resolve the problem suggests. Please see this link for manufacturer support website for your.

Note: you must enter correctly on your desktop to run the Microsoft it Fix tool and auditor of the files System tool.

  • How to restart vm esx host in different work HA?

I understand that VMOTION = migration hot virtual machines on esx hosts. So, if HA uses VMOTION, how HA restarts VMs on another esx host when the original, we're out of service?

I guess it will take to create an another vm on the available host using the same on the san .vmx file?

IF we were to do it manually, it will be just import a virtual machine to another host on the right?

    Correct me if im wrong?

A bit confused on the works of the HA behind the scene

    See you soon!

VMotion and HA are not related or dependent on each other.

    (1) again, this works because the virtual machines themselves live on storage shared and not bound to a specific host ESX (i). ESX implements non-persistent locks on a specific virtual machine, when the host goes down, these locks will eventually timeout. HA will launch the failover, allowing it to reregister the VMs failed and restart. Manually, you can walk through this process by the presence of a virtual machine that lives on the shared storage that runs on HostA, then it turned off and cancel the registration of the virtual machine. You would be so I re-register on HostB and turn on, and voila, you've just simulated a ghettoHA.

Here are a few extra links/documentation which may be useful for you better understand it:

    HA said:

    http://www.VMware.com/products/VI/VC/HA.html

    http://www.VMware.com/PDF/ha_datasheet.PDF

    vMotion explained:

    http://www.VMware.com/products/VI/VC/VMotion.html

    http://www.VMware.com/PDF/vmotion_datasheet.PDF

    (2) vMotion as you know already, performs a live migration of a virtual computer between two hosts, where as HA you will get some downtime of the virtual machine while it is rescued. The key is HA doesn't provide true high availability, it's just faster to recover. If you are looking for a true HA, take a look at VMware FT www.vmware.com/files/pdf/resources/ft_virtualization_wp.pdf
