Restarting a database duplicate after network of deposit?
I am creating a data hold sleep to help Active of Duplication of data.
I run on a primary:
RMAN> connect target sys/password@DB1; RMAN> connect auxiliary sys/password@DB2; RMAN> duplicate target database for standby from active database 2> dorecover 3> spfile 4> set "db_unique_name"="ProdDB" 5> set "fal_client"="DB2" 6> set "fal_server"="DB1" 7> set "standby_file_management"="AUTO" 8> set "log_archive_config"="DG_CONFIG=(DB1,DB3)" 9> set "log_archive_dest_2"="service=DB1 LGWR ASYNC valid_for=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) db_unique_name=DB1" 10> nofilenamecheck;
This whole process very well, however, the auxiliary database is very remote, the network connection is poor and the database to reproduce is massive. So, it takes about 15-20 days to transfer all of the base. However, the network drops about once every 48 hours or more. It only takes a few minutes, but it's enough that it causes the command DUPLICATE the error. I've done begins the new process every time.
Is it possible to restart a DATABASE duplicate so that it picks it up, where he was arrested instead of having to restart each time? DB version is 11r2.
Thank you
Two copies should simply choose where it was stopped.
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmdupdb.htm#BGBEFJHH
I just tested and double works as it should and resumes where it left off.
However my test database is small and the question that you may have due to the size of your database and the time it takes to do the double. It may also be the fact that at the time where you run duplicate active database, the primary database has evolved so he can't just pick up from where he was arrested and must start over.
You might be better to make a backup on tape/disk and make this backup. If you always use the same backup for your restore the duplicate elements must pick up where it left off. You can then recover the database by using the archivelogs you must all archivelogs in during the last backup.
It is not ideal that you have a large database AND a slow network, but you can try only what you try. On a note separated, assuming you run maximum performance, you might find that the network latency problems means your series far behind your primary to standby. I think that with your maximum availability and maximum protection configuration are not starters.
Hope that makes sense.

Does restart/reboot the computer after installing or uninstalling a program?
Original title: does restart/reboot the computer after installing or uninstalling a program? Which option is it on Vista? Hit reboot? Or off, wait and then start up?
I was told that if you add or remove a prgram, after it installs you need to 'reboot '.
Is this true?
Does this mean that, after the program is installed, you must reach the restart button? Or press 'stop' and then again wait a minute and then be able to save the PC?
Hello
Often an installation or uninstallation of will need to reboot to complete and it never hurts except for the
time it takes.A reboot is usually sufficient.
I hope this helps.
Rob Brown - MS MVP - Windows Desktop Experience: Bike - Mark Twain said it right. -
I have a desktop running xp home PC and a laptop running professional 7. They have been linked together quite happily until today. I turned on the xp machine and I got an error message telling me that I have duplicate names on the network, I know it's not like a door the name 'office' and the other 'laptop' task force for both is "soho".
Portable 'Office' no longer appears in windows Explorer on the computer.
On the xp machine or 'office' or 'laptop' appears in my network places, and they used to!
On the xp machine if I do a search in the '' computers or people, '' they appear!
Turn off the two machines.Restart your router.Turn on both machines.Best?

How to ask Questions the Smart way
http://www.CatB.org/~ESR/FAQs/smart-questions.html -
Hi all
Host: Linux x 86
DB: One-time EM control the database. Originally 10.2.0.1 patched to 10.2.0.4
Last night I upgraded database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4. Everything seemed to go well. I don't have any errors in the process, and when I logged in the database control, everything seemed fine. It was late at night, so I don't navigate around for very long, however. When I came this morning and did a few more extensive trials, after login I noticed first that, in the section general, version database has been listed as 10.2.0.1.0. I thought it was quite strange because I had just been connected to SQL * more and saw that the database was aware he was at version 10.2.0.4.0. I refreshed the page and saw
"java.lang.Exception: IOException while reading the response: connection reset".
top of the page. I have seen this problem before, and in the past, it has been resolved by restarting the dbconsole or ensuring that the analysis configuration is set up correctly. The first thing I did was question
[Home] $ emctl stop dbconsole followed
[Home] $ emctl start dbconsole
to see if it would do the trick. When I saw that it didn't, I went in the Configuration of the analysis and that he was surprised to see that he said "no element not found." I refreshed the page and this error appeared:
oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.CommException: IOException while reading the response: connection reset
I tried to follow all the instructions in the Readme as closely as I could. I looked on the Internet and the Oracle Forums for most of the day trying to find the cause of this error. I see that people have these errors, but the circumstances are not the same as mine. Is this a common problem? Anyone know what I can do to solve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi all
I had a problem trying to rebuild the database pending. This is my environment: Oracle 10g RAC with 2 node on window 2003 Server R2, 32-bit. Main database and backup are 2 RAC node that is located on a different server with the location of this material/ASM configuration and directory structures.

reboot/restart loop without end after installation
Firefox suggested the update of the United Nations, I said okay and got the Firefox Setup 8.0 file in my downloads (details: data of version 4.42.0.0 of Firefox Mozilla file 2011-11-14 to 21:26 size 14.0 MB).
I ran it and the Installer seems to go ok after she asked the PC must be restarted.
After the reboot it says
"Your computer must be restarted to complete previous update of Firefox. Do you want to restart now? Yes/No ".
When I reboot I'm just back in the same question that is an endless loop.
The 'funny', is that if I try to uninstall Firefox I'll meet the same question, otherwise said, I can not even uninstall + reinstall Firefox in order to circumwent the problm.
What should I do? I want to continue to use Firefox, but have now been forced to use a poor competitor.Hello

Hello
Usually the laptop should start over without any big delays
But if the laptop was arrested then you must wait 10-20 sec has only the HARD disk, and then you could feed back to the topI have no explanation why it takes 5-10 min in order to restart the laptop but it is definitely not normal.
But it s also strange that this problem does not appear still, but only sometimes and I think it will be very difficult to reproduce this problem
However, if you want you can contact ASP (authorized service provider) in your country one could ask hardware checksWelcome them

Satellite Pro P300 restarts a few minutes after the stop
Hello
I'm unable to download the update of the BIOS for a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300 PSPCDE (WIN 3.00), the reason being that I wonder a user name and password to download the file!
The laptop has this annoying problem to revive a few minutes after the laptop has stopped, and that's why I want to update the BIOS to see if it suits him. Laptop is running XP Pro (downgraded from Vista).
Ideas how I can get the update of the BIOS and will it solve the strange rebooting problem?
Paul
Where are you trying to download the BIOS?
I always download my updates on the official website of Toshiba and if it doesn't work maybe you should wait a day.
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download driversTo be honest, I doubt that the BIOS update will solve this problem. I often read about this problem and you can solve if you disable the wake on LAN function in the BIOS and Windows (properties of the wireless network card).

Satellite Pro A300-15 t does not restart on the current after BIOS update
Hello
There is something wrong with my Satellite Pro A300-15 t. I made an update of the BIOS of toshiba recently with the latest Web site and it installed successfully. But after the installation, I noticed that my laptop does not restart when it is connected to the power adapter. It restarts and works perfectly when its power on the battery.
After restart or start-up the laptop (on battery), it will be well when the adapter is connected.
But, when I reboot when the adapter is connected, after his stop, just power light turns on for a second or two and gets off automatically. And not even the laptop starts manually by pressing the power button (LCD is turned off when the power light comes on for 2 seconds) when the adapter remains connected.
So what I do is to pull the plug on the adapter, then start the computer manually by pressing the power button and reconnect the plug of the adapter to the laptop starts. It works well this way. Rest everything works perfectly.
And this problem started after the update of the BIOS. Now, I don't know how to remedy the situation I don't know if there was a bug in the last update of the bios.
Details of the update from: http://gulf.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp?service=AE

Read/write to a database in a network
I have a program that reads and writes data in a database that it works OK as long as the database is located in the local PC where the program runs. I wrote the program, so I can implement by editing the ini file. In the ini file I specify the path to the database also what UDL to use.
I checked the vi, it opens the connection ok, but when it goes through the loop and goes and executes the SQL, it comes out with error
-he and 2147217900 vi stops working. I have change the ini, return to the original configuration file and works perfectly. I forgot to mention that a copy of the database Access in the local PC, and another is in a network drive that the pc has access to. I did a UDL I checked the work of connecting it back test OK. I use database connectivity screws I have fun 10 LabView.
Well, it took a bit, but fortunately, I was able to understand, actually Microsoft did. I have create a new ULD by using the Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLE DB provider. It allows me to select the location of the database. I have always used the same VI I had used without making any changes to it. I use the VI of database connectivity. I can read and write to the database.
