  I m not sure but I think to me it s no longer tied to your laptop and has nothing to do with Toshiba. Maybe you use the file system that can be read by other computers (Windows)?

  Wow, I actually just found the solution.

  If you go to the project settings and in the tab "Scratch the disc" change them to locations on your external drive return on your external drive.

  importance. The installed updates is the important file that shows what updates have been installed.

  How do you reinstall Windows?  If you have used the HP Recovery system to recover from a hidden partition, backup should have been reinstalled.

  You can restore files from a BKF file on an external hard drive on the computer by using the Windows XP Backup Wizard. The Backup Wizard is installed by default in Windows XP Professional, but not in XP Home. XP Home users can install it from an installation of Windows XP Edition family CD.

  Follow the steps mentioned below and check if the problem persists.

  a. install the backup on Windows XP Edition family Wizard, if it is not installed. Record of the family place of the Windows XP Setup CD in the hard disk of the computer and install the wizard by clicking "Start", click "My computer," double-click the CD icon in the window my computer, double-click the "ValueAdd", by double-clicking on the folder "Msft", by double-clicking "Ntbackup" and clicking on "NTBackup.msi."

  b. connect the external hard drive to the computer.

  Create a recovery disk that the restoration of the backup complete on this topic option (including family Vista drive premium will be not because this option is only available on the Enterprise and Ultimate versions)-should not do anything on bitlocker on it (which will take care of itself during the restore process unless you configure to use a flash drive for protection - then the flash player is also required {but) not a recovery disk different}).  You can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (including backup complete PC Restore).  Be sure to get the drive to boot correctly - there are several ways to make records and this requires a way for it to work (but those that are included in the manual or on the website).

  I have a Windows VIsta operating system that crashed this past year.  But just before losing, I used the center of restoration with the Windows backup utility to back up our files.  I supported it up to an external hard drive, Toshiba (E :).   I see the backup of my files on the external hard drive E: but when I go back to Windown backup and Restore Center to restore the files (even with the attached external hard drive) the restore program is not recognizing backup.
