Restore photos from a previous user account

Happy New Year to the team at Microsoft

I created a new administrator account I didn't know would replace the account already on the computer.

Bascially what I want to do is to retrieve all the photos that I have uploaded to this account on the new account and after attempts of serval location and research. NOTHING

I hope you can help

See you soon
Sam from Auckland

I am not a member of a team of Microsoft, but maybe can help you anyway. When you create a new user account, it does not replace the old. The only way your photos could be deleted is if you have removed the old user account.

What may happen, it is that you have XP Pro or Media Center and have been using the account administrator for your daily work. Then you created a second administrative user account and the built-in administrator became hidden. This is normal. You can log into the administrator by Ctrl-Alt-Del twice at the Welcome screen. This will lead you to the classic logon box where you can type in "Administrator" for the user name and any password assigned you (or leave it blank for no password). Then, you can enable the administrator on the homescreen icon if you want. I leave the second administrative account to save for emergencies. You don't want the administrative account only on the system or the built-in administrator that you use for your daily work.

  • When I turn on my computer, already set up profiles disappear and are replaced by 'Kiosk' and 'other users' options that require passwords. I can get into 'other users' and find my previous user accounts, but lose them again after the reboot.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.

Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?

So, my brother did a secret password on the administrator account. Is it possible, that I could remove it from a standard user?

    Here you go:
    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before your brother has changed the password.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key.

I have 3 user accounts on my welcome screen which is admin. normally, I click on my own account. When I made the other day all my desktop icons went I have all the documents, pictures, etc. I though I had lost them up to what I went to c/users/selected my user account and everything is there. I seems the account that I click the home screen is not a link to my account?

    Please can someone help?

I tried to restore to an earlier date that did not work.

When you create a new user, the directory will not present until you connect for the first time this new user.  The fast way so disconnect and connect under the newly created user.  After that, the folder would be present.

The way alternative copy of the files on an external drive and copy then back also works, but there are also that you connect as long as this new user to do this.

The top of the default user folder account Security page is [heart] to this user and administrators only (that's why the lock symbol).  You should be able to bypass this security, if you are signed in with an account that has administrator privileges.  Otherwise, you will need to log on as the owner of this folder, right-click on the folder-> Security (tab) and change the security to allow access by other users.

  • Removed from the Windows user account

Today, when I connect my frequently used user profile, I noticed that it took a few minutes longer than usual, and while he was connect it says "Preparing your desktop..." ». When I am, I noticed that my office had been completely annihilated. The background has been in the background of Windows 7 by default, my theme is gone and all my files on my complete profile have been removed. Is there a way can I fix? I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything. I didn't save anything, and I was wondering if there is a way to restore my files.

I didn't save anything, and I was wondering if there is a way to restore my files.

There are two types of people: those who support their important files regularly to an external hard drive and those who choose to wait until they are suffering from a major disaster. You get dangerously close to join the second group.

Your files are likely still around and so is your profile. You might be able to restore things as follows:

    1. Keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select Repair from the menu.
    3. Select an administrator account, and then enter its password.
    4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    5. Configure Windows to a point before this problem occurred.
    6. Plan ahead a little and create, test, and document an alternative admin account, even though you have a spare House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
  • import photos from the old iCloud account

    Hi there-

I had an old apple what ID synchronized to an e-mail that no longer exists. I changed from my apple to a work email ID (and also got a new iPhone), but I can't recover my photos that have been synchronized to the old apple ID. I can connect to iCloud very well with the old ID, but am unable to do anything about it either, out (try to download the old account on my mac). Could someone help?

    Thank you!

It is not possible to synchronize data from one account to another iCloud.

It would be the same as Apple Apple ID not allowing the merger.

  • Restore iPhone from a different iCloud account

My company provided device has been saved on my account iTunes using my e-mail business as my iCloud login information.  I go back and bought a new iPhone 6 more for my personal use.  I want to restore all apps, text, photos, etc., using my personal iCloud account.  Is it still possible?

Does your company have the apps (or more specifically the Apple ID used on i-unit of society has the apps).  Even for texts, etc.

  • How can I move the photo folders of a user account to another account of user inside a shared computer?

I need to close a user profile, but I want to save my photos.  How can I move them to a new user profile?

The same way you would to move or to copy any other file - copy on a USB key or a folder outside the records of user documents and then log in as a new user and backup.

    ========================================
I doubt that anything useful can be extracted from a thumbs.db
file, but perhaps worth a try the following utilities
    (a free... a not free).

    Thumbnail Database Viewer (free)
(can be used in forensic analysis of the thumbs.db)
    http://www.ITSamples.com/thumbnail-database-viewer.html
(unzip the file and run it... No installation required...
just drag & drop your files thumbs.db in the right pane.)

DM Thumbs is a viewer for thumbs.db files
and files of thumbcache Vista (not free)

  • Blocked from my user account.

How can I get rid of the requirement for the administrator?  I did something called my current user - me - as an administrator and I can not enter my user account.  I have to use the comments.  Of course, I have no password because there wasn't ANY administator and suddenlty there.

It happened when I was doing 'improvements' Explorer 9 - he go so messed up, I had to do a restore and now I have no idea of what I have, but I'm afraid to do something different.  I use the 'Guest' user because I can't open my user account.  As you know this means I can't access my files.

Somehow in this process he appointed me, Gerney Lee, as administrator.

Hi, you could go to mode safe mode with networking

How to: restart the computer, while the computer restarts continue to hit the F8 key > and then you will see a screen black with a title "advanced startup option" you'll see there select Safe mode with network, and then press ENTER. Once the computer started in safe mode with network you will have 2 useraccount, yours and admin (pass not required by default in safe mode) > using the admin on safe mode, you can create another user account that has admin Privilege, then you can access your files from the locked user account.

and also if you think that IE9 is the problem again on safe mode, you can go to add/remove programs, and then uninstall it.
