Restore SR5110nx infected by the malware in safe mode

People... I have a Presario SR5110NX who has been infected with the garbage of privacy - CENTER.ORG.  The best way to get rid of it seems to be simply take out the hard drive.

Unfortunately, the malware completely seized the machine.  It loads automatically when starting Vista, then when you try to shut it down, the machine hangs with a blue screen.

I was planning to start mode without failure (F8), then go to the Recovery Manager and restore just C: as long as the plant.  But it will work in safe mode?

Thank you!  Mike Nassour

F-11 at startup does not work? You did the recovery discs?

    Hi all

For the not 24 hours I tried to access my computer in normal mode. When I turn on the pc, it says "configuration data 1 of 3 steps...". 0% complete"he never spent 0% and within seconds, it automatically restarts and starts again. It's so frustrating! I have a windows vista pc (purchased in ' 06). I can only access my desktop in SafeMode.

I tried to perform a system restore, but not like he says "recovery disk is not the restore point selected. What should I do? I tried to manually create a restore point, but cannot access the system and Maintenance, while in safe mode. I can't do anything but literally access the internet. How can I get Windows back to factory settings it is with these limited resources? I have a Dell reinstallation DVD.

I searched my programs and found that recently Windows automatically updated and downloaded "Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer" and "for 2007 Office system Compatibility Pack '. Now, I think it has something to do with it, because they were the most recent updates, before the pc crashed. But I also fear that it may be a virus, which has completely hijacked this PC. How am I supposed to get rid of a bug, if I can't even get the necessary antivirus?

Sorry for the ranting, but it's so stressful when my pc is completely down. Please, please please help me. Thank you in advance for reading this same!

    Hello

you talk about restore and system recovery disc in the same breath

    they are 2 different things

and you can NOT create a restore of yesterday and today!

    yesterday is gone

If it does not already; You can't do

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

  • Windows 7 Build 7600 this copy of Windows is not genuine - I can only run the computer in safe mode

My son - under Windows 7 Home Premium - Dec 2010 laptop, purchased at Future Shop

It has worked well for the past 2 years.  Suddenly, on Saturday, he stopped doing anything.
    That's happened?
I don't know, but when I started upwards, normally, all I get is the 'black screen of death", with the words"Windows 7 Build 7600 this copy of Windows is not genuine ".
I CAN'T DO anything HERE - can't make a right click, left click, CTRL ALT DEL, menu button - nothing works

So I rebooted in SafeMode with networking - everything works fine.

I have tried many fixes - when I read the topics - but NONE OF THEIR WORK in safe MODE
slui.exe 4?  Does not work in safe mode
Run?  Does not work in safe mode
Start - computer - properties - activate windows now?  Does not come to the top, in safe mode
However, he won't come to the top with a status or product ID
Starter - activate windows?  does not work in safe mode
I tried to download the windows / microsoft / genuine / validate the tool - but guess what, that didn't work either - update installation failed - error information 0x8007043C - probably does not work in safe mode - but that's all I have As
I did a system restore - it 'worked' but ran very slow - and then when I restarted, the problem came back.
    and many others

I ran Avast free on it - and anti-octets Malware - nothing - but I can only run in safe mode.
Avast has some programs that run on the system re - start - but it does not start in normal mode - if none of them work

I read a lot of topics on this - and I'm VERY FRUSTRATED

I used another laptop - does the slui.exe 4 - and he asks me the activation key?  I can't that - not in safe mode
I called the phone number - and talked to anyone - they told me to go through the www.howtotell.com - and report a counterfeit copy.  But it's NOT a COUNTERFEIT copy.
OK - it's perhaps - but why it worked for 1.5 years?  And I bought from FutureShop, so should be reliable.  And I have the certificate of Authenticity on the back

Don't forget - I can't do anything either in normal mode - but the Safemode with network works perfectly well.

So, I don't know what to do.

    I don't think that's my problem - I bought a genuine copy, a reliable retailer.
Anything you can do to help, would be greatly appreciated.

    I agree with this assessment.

Hard drives come with a large number of spare sectors 'invisible' - it's only when they all well used by repair mechanisms built-in to the reader that the number of bad sectors Windows begins to increase from zero (in your case, it is a sector) means that there is already a significant degradation of the drive, and you can expect the count to start sooner or later back.

  • Malware blocking safe mode/updates / filevault

Hi, I ran into an annoying malware that seems to be the "Iworm" malware that was happening in recent years.

Problem is, it seems to be more advanced.

The malware blocked me to perform updates get queued vault OFF so that I can switch to secure mode (also tried via the terminal entering safe mode, but it prevents me to enter my password) and if it leaves an antivirus running it not to revert to what either. I searched my library folder and discovered I had the JavaW folder in Application Support. But there is no files in the folder JavaW there is empty (apparently). I also looked through the LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons folders and saw nothing about JavaW in them. In addition to this when turned on the computer, it made connect me twice and made for some time. But yesterday, I changed my password and the first time he asks me to log in I can only connect using my old password - and then the second password is updated? Im not sure whats going on with it, but thought it was worth mentioning. Also, it does not recognize the USB devices connected, so I can't back up my files or run your antivirus software from a USB. Oh and he blocked me to change the keyboard backlight and has locked volume turned off as well.

I can generally understand such things, but I have spent nearly 24 hours of research directly, but came up empty. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Please find attached my system specs.

  • How to restart the computer in safe mode?

Is there a way to restart the computer in safe mode UN-staged network, or at least to list computer startup options including safe mode, without having to wait for the computer to stop, then press on and hold F8 during initial computer boot?

In particular, there is a command that I can enter from the cmd prompt?

If it's important, I have a Dell Latitude D610 with MS WinXP Pro 2002 SP3.

But I really want a method that works on any MS WinXP.

You can configure your system to boot in any mode desired by using the msconfig utility.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msconfig

Click OK to launch the utility.

On the BOOT. INI tab you can add/remove options to the boot.ini file so next time XP starts, it will start in the selected mode.  XP looks at the boot.ini file to decide how it is supposed to start.  You can use the built in Help and/or a few searches on Google to learn more about msconfig.  You will need to adjust things again if you want to start in a different mode, but there would be no F8 key.

A word of warning.  Some malicious software now recognizes when you added the/SafeBoot option in the boot.ini file on your system.  The malware knows some of the things you could do to try to find and delete this... and he won't be deleted.  He wants you to think that you need to reinstall your XP instead.

If your system has this condition and you add the option/SafeBoot, your system unbootable ever again successfully XP from hard disk in a different mode until you remove the option/SafeBoot your boot.ini file by starting on something else (like a CD) to manually remove the switch/SafeBoot.

The switch / SafeBoot used to be pretty, a good idea, but it isn't a good idea these days.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • does my mac infected with the malware 844-335

My (OS X ElCapitan) MacAir is infected by malware? While on Safari, I clicked on a link and a video and audio message appeared immediately (looked like Apple logo) which says that my computer has been infected and immediately call 844-335-* to correct the problem. I wasn't able to close safari, or even do a normal shutdown. I did a shutdown of the system "hard" and it "seems" to be ok, but how can I be sure that the malware is not on my computer?

It probably isn't, but you should always look for unexplained slow or strange behaviour.

  • Cannot start windows in safe mode, the work of restoration but still cannot start unless in safe mode

After a microsoft update beginning 04/04/11 awoke to noisy computer which was start and restart in safe mode.  Pbly. most of the night it was start and restart.  System Restore tried to 3 or 4 different dates, said has been restored, but this does not solve the problem.  Have you tried troubleshooting, nothing helps.  Worked on it for several days without any positive result.  Any advice will be appreciated.

    Hi Grandma fla,.

    1. you remember what update was installed before that the problem occurred?

    2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then you perform the clean boot in order to verify if any device on the computer is the origin of the hardware problem.

    a. click "Start", type "DEVMGMT. MSC"in the search text box and press ENTER.

    b. expand ' audio, video and game controllers ".

    c. right click on your sound card, select "Properties".

    d. click on the "Driver" tab, click Disable the selected device. Click OK

    e. Please use the same method to disable other devices such as: Modem, network card, CD - R drive. Please note that some devices such as the video card are not available should be disabled.

    f. restart the computer and check if it works.
