Restoring files from backup

I have Windows XP and the difficulty to restore the backup files. I tried using "Backup Restore Wizard. It will not access the file 'backup '. I'm trying to restore my system to an earlier date. It will only allow me to come back two days. I tried to use a manual date, which only works for the date it was entered. Ex: setting up printer - April 30, 2010. This was listed on May 2, and is the recognized system date.  Please notify. Thank you.

    Help, please

Hello h20sdavid ·         Are you able to browse the files that are created in the backup? ·         Requires external drive that you are installing the software and/or before pilots to use and you have installed them after reinstalling Vista? ·         What is the error message you get when you try to restore the backup? You can try to change the drive letter for your external hard drive and check if you are able to restore the backup. 1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 2. in the Navigation pane, click Disk Management. 3. right click on the partition or drive that you want to change and then click on change drive letter and paths. 4. to change a drive letter, click on edit, click on assign the following drive letter, click the letter you want to use and then click OK. • Restoring files from Windows XP (.bkf) in Windows 7

I had a complete computer failure and replaced my laptop with a new one running Windows 7. I need to restore all my files from backups made on Windows XP (.bkf files). This doesn't seem to be possible in Windows 7. I saw a few proposals for solutions that involve the restoration of a machine running XP and then transfer the files, but I don't have a second machine to do this. How can I access backed up files?

And if it does not, you can wait until Microsoft releases the NTBackup Restore Utility for Windows 7 (as they did for Windows Vista). Check out this thread.

  • Access is denied when I try to restore files from the Recycle Bin

My husband accidentally sent his files to the trash, Einstein he is. When I click on restore everything, I get a code error that reads "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\report0955479c\is is not accessible. Access is denied. "Help!

    Terristreasures

    Hello

    ·         What is the location of the files that have been deleted?

    ·         Have you logged as administrator?

    ·         You try to restore the Recycle Bin of your husband or your account account?

    ·         You can access the location of the file mentioned in the error? (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue)

To view the location of the file error try to enable hidden files.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Show-hidden-files

Follow these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to manually restore the file from the Recycle Bin and check.

    (a) on the desktop, double-click Recycle Bin.

    (b) to restore a file, right-click and then click on restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/recover-files-from-the-Recycle-Bin

    Method 2:

Also I suggest that you start in safe mode and check if you can restore files from the Recycle Bin.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-safe-mode

    Method 3:

If you are not able to access these files try ownership of the folder and check if you can restore the files.

To restore the files on your DVD drive, you can simply insert the disc into your DVD drive and copy files directly to the desired location on your computer.

If you have created the DVD disc is a recovery disk (a disk you can use to restore Windows when Windows does not work properly), you can consult the following Web page to understand how to use it:

  • Restoring files from C:\Backup

My system has blown. I used the system restore gateway with backup of user files. Running again. However, my images and Document file folder doesn't have any of my data in it.

I searched my C: drive and found the backup. All my data is in the file Documents & images. My question is: How can I copy the Backup\Documents and the Backup\Pictures in my current photo system and Document files.

As you have guessed, I'm not real informed on the use of a PC, especially when something goes wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    ·        Have you tried to copy the files and photos from the backup location and paste the folder documents current systems by selecting all the files and right-click on it and clicking on copy and paste it in the folder of document? What happens when you do that?

I suggest you to send all the files and other data that is present in the location c:/backup on the USB drive and then copy the files to the USB in the documents folder and check.

    Thanks and regards.

  • In any case to restore files from a backup .inp to reformat?

OK, so recently I had to reformat my Windows 8 Pro ultrabook. I tried to update the operating system, reinstall the OS before that I had to format and restore from a previous restore point. Unfortunately, none of the above methods worked as I couldn't get past a never-ending startup screen or a blue screen error. When I tried to reinstall the operating system he saved all my files from the user to an external hard disk in a .inp file format. It also creates a file migr.xml and include.xml to this folder location. After crossing the include.xml file in a text editor, I saw all my files that were lost were in the .inp archives. Is there anyway to recover these files?

I know that it is about a year too late, but if anyone runs into this problem (like me) there is a simple solution. Go to the dell Web site:

    www.Dell.com/.../en

and download the MigRestore software, this will allow you to recover the INP.files in your backup folder. Dell Backup and Restore software will not recover the files that contain files in XML document which is a major flaw of course.

I spend hours looking for the solution, so I hope that this will save someone some time.

    Kind regards

    TK

Acutally, that I found was in a folder named MINWINPC, there was a folder with the date of the backup, and that is a file named Backup.1.exe. When I ran that the files have been restored - very slowly. What you say can be applied to a different version of what I have.

  • Delete files from backup under Vista

Recently made a backup under Vista.  Now, get the message saying I need to delete files from D: drive to create more space.  Have you tried the various responses on previous assignments, but nothing works

Thanks for this Bill.  I have since gone on the Dell forum and discovered how to delete the backup.  It is very easy - for anyone else who has this problem: computer goto, drive d, select the folder with your name or nickname of PC (usually the first folder) and delete it.

    @vaniarahma,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  After what you've done, you'll need to order the HP support recovery media.  Regarding your data, it is gone as soon as you start the process.  You want to keep all the data should be stored on an external drive.

Here is the link so that you reach your recovery media for your system.

HP computers - get HP recovery disks or HP USB recovery disc

  • After trying to synchronize with my laptop and failure, I've restored files from a backup and make me "this connection is Untrusted" I have not found a solution.

I uninstalled Firefox 40, deleted the profiles folder, reinstalled Firefox, restored Firefox 40 and profiles from a backup and I still get this message. I even downgraded to a previous version and restored the profiles for this version and still this nasty error pops up on everything I try to do. I can't find any info on where are stored other files of files I'm not restore or change which still linger. I've never seen anything like this. That's after spending 3 weeks completely updated and change Firefox according to my needs and dumping Chrome, that's what I get. It seems I have to go back to chrome that I need a browser that works. I tried everything I can find this issue nothing works. I am really upset over this especially after that spent all the time from Chrome to Firefox. I really need an answer or I'll have to remove Firefox and return to Chrome, as much as I hate to do this. It still works!
Someone has an answer for this? Is their draw at Mozilla to help with this? Help!

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.

Another possible reason for "sec_error_untrusted_issuer" If Firefox is not configured to trust your security software, such as Avast, BitDefender, ESET or Kaspersky. If you use one of these popular products, reinstall your product can take care of the problem, or some manual adjustments may be necessary. If you use one of these, please mention which for more specific suggestions.
