RV042-gateway-to-gateway

Hello

I have two remote sites connected with two RV042 gateway to gateway. Connection between the sites never drops but ping hosts on both sides of the network gives inconsistent results. Sometimes all the packets arrive, sometimes only 25% of them. Same problem persists even after the passage of the ISP.

Someone's idea of what went wrong?

  • The RV042 502 Bad Gateway CGI was not CGI/1.1 compatible

    Hello

I have half a dozen routers RV042 in various places.  They are running v4.0.0.07.  Apparently at random, I had the

    502 bad Gateway

The CGI/1.1 CGI was not consistent.

error when you try to connect to the web interface with google chrome (even with IE too).  This is happening on the side LAN.  I actually didn't notice until my software Opsview monitoring threw up a critical when he did get an http response.

The router otherwise actually works very well.

Since the first occurrence, several of my routers have developed the same error.

I have tried different browsers, clear caches, although I'm not surprised that these efforts were in vain, because clearly there is a problem even when no browser is involved (nagios).  Nagios http checking also returns a 502 Bad Gateway.

I guess that a reboot is in order, but I'm looking for other explanations/solutions before having to restart because I would like to avoid that if possible.  If I can help more, please let me know.

    Thanks for the help.

I know you are trying to avoid a reboot, but I would try and see if the problem goes away.  The rv series starts acting funky when they have not been restarted for awhile.

  • How to renew the license of ProtectLink Gateway on the RV042?

Hello, my licenses ProtectLink Gateway has expired on the RV042. I bought a license for the new year 3, connected to the TrtendMicro website and activated the license in my account. The RV042 is always show that the license has expired and you see is not the new license. My question is how do the RV042 to recognize the new license?

Hmm, looks like you followed all the instructions properly for the renewal.  Looks like a call to the support center may be necessary now.  You can contact them via the phone numbers listed here.  Call them and explain the situation and refer them to this announcement if necessary.

  • Problem VPN gateway to gateway Cisco RV042 861

Hello. I have problems with tunneling IPSec between a RV042 and a Cisco 861. I configured the IKE, turn the value, the access list and the Crypto map into the pit 861 the console and I configured the tunnel in the RV042 web application with the same IKE encryption, Diffie-Hellman group and authentication but the connection does not work. Advice or review for this type of connection? Thank you.

Your default traffic will be natting to the outside world.

You need without Nat Traffc of Source ip to Destination ip that you authorized in the VPN access list.

Mean simply to deny source ip to destination ip in NAT ACL.

  • Problem with RV0042 - mask subnet/router/gateway?

    Hi guys.

I have a DSL here in Holland. To use my RV042 VPN function, I need the router to get the IP of the DSL modem. No problem, I bought a modem that can define transparant and with dhcp-parody the modem Gets the public ip address (say 85.223.12.34).

The thing is, I can't access the internet, or in fact any IP that isn't in the first segment of the external IP address. So I can reach 85.123.34.56, but not 86.123.34.56. So I plugged the modem to a computer, set the transparent modem and the computer got the public IP address. And you know, I have a perfect connection, and everything works. Looking at my ip information, download the provider 255.0.0.0 subnet. Im not a Networking Wizard, but it seems to me that the problem lies here. But why is my stand-alone pc able to connect quite normal, but when I connect my linksys RV042 and internal diagnostic test (ping) of the router or a computer behind the router, obtaining an ip address, I don't get anything.

When I ping manually, I also get the message "network is not available. Ping to an IP on the same subnet (for example, 85.111.111.111) goes perfect.

I'm obviously missing something here. My colleuge said it could be and router/gateway (currently bridge) or a NAT problem-associated device.

Please point me in the right direction.

    Intellectual property of addidional information:

    External ip address: 85.223.12.34

    External subnet mask: 255.0.0.0

    External gateway: 217.149.196.82

    External DNS: 217.149.196.6

    Internal IP address: 172.16.0.254

    Internal subnet: 255.255.0.0

    New firmware etc.

    Thank you guys!

What static routes you add exactly on your RV? It's funny, it works now.

WIndows seems to accept a gateway address that is not on a connected interface.

The first line is the rule of default gateway:
    0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 217.149.196.82 85.223.66.38

The second line just tells you that 85.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 is connected to the ethernet adapter that has the IP 85.223.66.38.
    85.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 85.223.66.38 85.223.66.38

Technically, the first route should now work. There is still no route for 217.149.196.82 in the routing tables. The only route that matches the destination IP 217.149.196.82 is the first route.

But I guess that, in your case, that default gateway with 217.149.196.82 is actually connected to the network on the side of the VP, i.e. your ISP WAN runs two IP subnets on the same network. Since this first route runs on Windows, I guess that WIndows simply tries to find the MAC address of the 217.149.196.82 on the WAN using ARP interface (i.e., it assumes that the device with 217.149.196.82 is directly connected to the WAN Ethernet) and if something is used as default gateway. Is not really consistent with the ideal IP routing, but still works...

  • VPN gateway to gateway RV0XX

    Greetings,

I have a RV082 and a RV042. I was able to successfully establish a vpn connection from gateway to gateway between the two and I can remotely manage each router through the VPN connection, but I am unable to computers ping from one side of the connection to the other. For example, a computer in the 10.10.1.0 subnet cannot see / ping / communicate with a computer in the 192.168.1.0 subnet.

Here are the configurations for each. Apart from static IP configurations and VPN configurations, no other changes were made to the routers.

  • RV042G VPN Client to gateway does not

I try to set up VPN on my new RV042G, but may not have to work.

I try to use the gateway client and want to connect my laptop to the router with a vpn as screwsoft or greenbow client.

How I set up, it does not connect. After doing some scans of port, I discovered that it opens all ports. After having turned off the firewall, that he still does not seem a suitable open. (I expect 500 for ipsec).

can someone help me out here? PPTP seems only open ports when activated, but I don't want to use it.

  • RVO42 and Layer Gateway Application SIP-can it be disabled?

We use a phone system requiring a layer gateway Application SIP should be disabled on the router.  We have replaced former RVO42 routers with the WRVS4400N router and VOIP phone works very well with this option unchecked checkmark.

The new router RVO42 allows to disable this option?  I did find it in the manual to date.  I don't want to buy two routers and find that it won't work with the telephone system.  We have Dual WAN this time so I thought that we would try RVO42 model again as long as it is the most recent version.

Someone had problems with the RV042, RVO82 new with VOIP NEC phone systems?

    Thanks for any help.

RV042/RV082 does not support SIP ALG, so no conifguration option to disable.

  • Problem connecting to a VPN/Firewall gateway RV042G

    Hello

I am new to Cisco, so far I have used the NetAsq materials.

First of all I'm getting is to connect a new RV042G by VPN to a NetAsq firewall.

Today, I can connect without any problems by using the TheGreenbow VPN client on my laptop.

But no chance to try the RV042G.

    The corporate network:

    -Fixed official IP

    -Internal subnet is 192.168.11.0

    Firewall is configured with:

-Set up with the aggressive Mode and identity of the type [email protected] / * /

-Pre-shared key is set with e-mail address and password

    Remote network:

-Official dynamic IP (but I can't control the remote router)

-Address IP internal FIXED for RV042G is 192.168.13.2 (it means the RV042 is behind a NAT network)

    -Subnet behind RV042G is 10.0.0.0

Don't forget; I can connect my laptop from the same network, and even behind the RV042G.

Yes, this means also I have internet access behind the RV042G.

Editing and I tried with Client-to-gateway and gateway to catwalk (I think the last option is correct).

    For local security, I can't choose [email protected] / * / just, I need to select IP + [email protected] / * / (?)

For the remote, the same security

For the rest; I've reproduced my Greenbow VPN client settings.

No luck at all; and Yes, I'm VERY sure I set address email and Preshare key correct and identical.

    Any ideas?

  • HP HP Device Manager Device Manager: multiple active gateways on the same server - possible?

    Hello

Is this possible? We have 2 different offices on different subnets, but I can tell it is only possible to have an active local gateway at a time?

I know that I can install a gateway HPDM in each office, but if I could avoid it, it would be preferable.

    Hello

HPDM uses MAC of the server host as the ID gateway (which must be unique), is not possible you have two gateways installed on the same server host - Agent DM is not able to find out who will speak with.

  • Gateway device Managemeny could not pass authentication

    Hello

We are upgrading of HPDM 4.6 to 4.7 and the keystore file has been deleted in the process. So, we get this log message whenever we try to send a job to one of our machines:

"Agent denied the task because the device management gateway could not pass authentication".

I deleted the two files of C:\Windows\xpeagent key on one of the machines and that seems to have solved the problem - for this computer. Repeat this process for ALL our machines would be a daunting task.

Is there another way to resynchronize the devices with the server, or are we out of luck?

If we should not touch each machine individually, anyone has advice or scripts to speed up the process?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I can't figure out how to import the database into the latest version of the client server postgre and I already spent a lot of time on this project. I don't have the password to the database to original then I would probably just be stuck again, in any case. We're going to rename the key on clients computers files for now.  Thanks for your help!

    Dear All/Admin/Tech,
After the upgrade to Firefox 10.0 staff of my company in Indonesia can not rained access gateway SSL for the web of our company and therefore cannot log on to our web database program.

In my tests, in Singapore (with the same ISP fiber broadband), I have the same problem.

Both Chrome and IE have no problem, but Firefox stops on error "the connection was reset".

Firefox is now super sensitive to the shift of site Web, allows no ports or y at - there some problem in which Firefox to reject Web page or program?

So far, that seems to happen on Firefox 10.0 and our SSL https web portal. What is good on all other browsers.

    Help, please.

    Thank you and best regards,

I also have problems with 10 FF and Fortinet VPN.

It helped me a little... http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7itprosecurity/thread/e6e8ada8-BC12-4f6f-8de3-1d3fd2ff4931

The problems seems to be in the Microsoft Security Update KB2585542, that TLS and SSL fixes. Apparently some websites that use SSL do not work properly because of this.

I had to disable the update of security KB2585542, then downgrade to FF 9.0.1.

BUT I don't want to remain unpatched and with an older version of FF. A way around this problem without downgrading?

EDIT: Just to be clear, even after I disabled the patch MS that I kept getting "the connection was reset" in FF10. Everything worked great until I upgraded to FF10 even with the patch on.
