retention time

Does anyone know how long our questions (and the answers we received) stay on the Adobe Forum?

I posted something about 2 weeks ago and it seems to be deleted (as well as useful responses).

Indefinitely for now.

It can scroll on the first page due to new positions, but you can get to it from your file validation, or with a search.

I have 47not sure that I have not your question. FRA is based on the size of the database and is usually recommended for twice the size of the db. Whereas the Undo data is stored in the Undo tablespace and here, the calculation of retention Undo is needed to correctly calculate the size of the storage space. To do this, leave, 10 g, there are avilaable Cancel Advisor who can help you in the calculation of the appropriate size. Once again, what is your condition and db version?

  • OSB writing windows and hold set volume (retention time)

    Hello, all the

When I do a secure backup media family, can set the time keep managed defined volume and write windows.

I know the other provider backup software also has retension configurations.

    ex) case Symantec Veritas

If I do a policy with 1 weeks retenstion, backup image of the same strategy can be reached by writing to the media and can be added.

And, if a media has a full capacity backup looking for other media software.

Poliy retention check backup image media and decide expired (recycle) date according to the last backup image.

01/04/2014 backup complete (retention 1weeks) by using the new media (TEST01)

02/04/2014 full backup (retention 1weeks) using existing media (TEST01) add

03/04/2014 full backup (retention 1weeks) using existing media (TEST01) append and full media.

Expried of TES01 media date is 2014/04/10 because of the latest backup image.

    ex) case Secure Backup

If I do a media with 7days family write time windows and successful 10days keep set of volumes.

01/04/2014 backup complete by using new media failmily (TEST01)

02/04/2014 full backup using existing media (TEST01) add

03/04/2014 backup help existing media (TEST01) append and full media.

When can I use this new medium and what is the exactly date expired media?

I want to know how to write windows (is it not editable 59(1)(c)?) and hold volume set (is this true retenstion?) meaning...

    Thank you very much advanced.

The retention period starts as soon as the write window closes, it does not matter if the Ribbon is completed, the entry window remains the same, so band closes on that date. You can do a 'obtool lsvol-l' on tape and see when it will close and when it will expire:

    obtool lsvol-l b ADC00003

    Volume OID: 29091

    Volume ID: FullBackups-002467

    Bar code: ADC00003

    Sequence of volume: 2

    Family support: FullBackups

    Created: 2014/02/18.04:01

    Deadline: 2014/03/18.04:01 (closed)

    Expires: 2014/06/18.04:01

    Remaining space: no

    The original OID: 29091

If you want a backup must be kept for exactly 14 days then your window writing + retention must equal to 14, so it could be 7 + 7. 13 + 1 is also very good, assuming that you do not send the tapes out of the library, and which will also ensure your tapes are used to their ability.

    Thank you

  • Retention time of journal ACS

    .

    Hello

I have the ACS SE 1120 device running version 4.2. My client wants to know how long it can preserve the newspapers in ACS. I checked several other positions that they speak " when a log file reaches 10 MB in size, ACS starts a new log file. "ACS maintains files of newspapers over recent seven for each CSV log "

However when I tried to view the logs of authentication failed for a month. I could see them.

I don't understand how long ACS preserve newspapers.

    Concerning

    Ritesh

    Hi Ritesh,

It is not the matter of time, but it is related to the size of the file. If you are able to check the remote logs of the last month, indicating that the log file failed does not cross the size of 10 MB. Once the size will cross 10 Mo, he'll write another file.

    Thank you

    Vinay

  • Can we change primary standby Undo retention time

We set up a standby DB,.

can we undo retention target reduce the primary standby

What are the things to consider before.

hope because it is a watch - what is the significance of the undo retention target

Yes. Retention of cancellation can be reduced. The wait has no active SELECT statements (unless it is Active Data Guard, where you READ ONLY in managed recovery mode), so that consistent readings are reduced to a minimum on the day before. In addition, the phase to apply is often faster that it again is committed to primary school because there is no request pending on a user to press the "Save" button. Repeatedly, the cancellation must not be kept longer on the day before.

That being said, why change this setting on the eve? If it is set to match the primary school, there is no problem. And if you need to switchover to the standby, a lower undo retention can cause problems with the application.

    See you soon,.

  • Is it possible to set the time on a device in real time so that the time will persist when the device is not powered?

It seems that you can not set the time on a device sbRIO (9606) and have always the exact time when the card is powered after not being fed for a while.  I have a product which will be independent (not connected to a network) when it is supplied by the customer.  I would like to collect data in a datalog and would like to put a timestamp somewhere so that I can understand when these data were collected.  If I can't get an exact date/time, then the next best solution would be to set up my datalogs so that I can at least understand the exact order in which they were collected.  (I think I can understand it without much problem)    Any suggestions as to best practices?

    Hey John,

Without connected VBat time will not be preserved between periods of closure. Unfortunately for the 9605 and 9606 we have not a way to date the connector 9693 VBat.

How much sbRIOs you plan to deploy with your system?  9623 and 9626 have a compartment for the RTC. If you haven't bought your sbRIOs already you could focus on the options of the form always match.

If it is necessary to have retention time between stops, we would need to understand the extent of your application more.

  • URGENT: Need to flashback table, how to find SNA for quite some time before the update that's happened?

    Hi all

I have a new database 11G, I haven't used before flashback, but my retention time is a day... I have once the developer did a massive update to a table to corrupt.

How can I find the RCS for this time so I can try this table of flashback?

    Thank you

    Cayenne

Thank you.. I also found that it works:

    SQL > select timestamp_to_scn (to_timestamp('20140103152000','YYYYMMDDHH24MISS')) SNA double;

    SNA

    ----------

    98344246

Although does NOT work all the time. But that's just what Oracle when you give him a timestamp to flashback to: it converts the timestamp of a SNA and then restores the data based on the SNA.

See table of Flashback in the language SQL doc

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_9012.htm

    TIMESTAMP CLAUSE

Specify a value of timestamp corresponding to the point in time to which you want to return to the table. The expr must evaluate to a valid time stamp in the past. The table will flash back to a period of about 3 seconds to the specified timestamp.

This precision "3 seconds" is because of this conversion to SNA - Oracle uses its internal table.

YVERT is accurate, if you know, but you typically do not have.

Read and consider these warnings in app dev guide advanced

    Guidelines for Oracle Flashback Query

    . . .

General guidelines for Oracle Flashback Table

    . . .

    • For querying the latest data at a specific time, use a SNA. If you use a timestamp, questioned real time can be up to 3 seconds before the time you specify. Oracle database uses the SNA and assigns them to the timestamps to a granularity of 3 seconds.

For example, suppose values SNA 1000 and 1005 are mapped on the timestamps 08:41 and 08:46, respectively. A query for a moment between 08:41 and 08:45:59 is mapped to the SCN 1000; an Oracle Flashback Query at 08:46 is mapped to the SNA 1005.

By reason of this time-to-SNA map, if you specify a time slightly after a DDL (such as a table creation) Oracle database operation can use a SNA which is located just before the DDL operation, causing the error ORA-1466.

  • How can I block spam emails.

I want to send spam emails directly in the trash. It seems that there is an option to tag as junk and then send all unwanted mail messages in the trash. The problem is that I scored a lot of spam email that I might want to read maybe 5% of them. How can I cancel all unwanted mail settings and start over again, so I can mark spam emails that I never want to read as spam.

Why do you not use the Junk folder (or Spam) to move the messages classified as junk to.
You can define a retention time so that you can still read the messages you want and are looking for false positives.

Nothing is ever deleted with iCloud photo library. You think maybe on the photo stream, but that includes no video and don't keep anything in the cloud, like 30 days.

  • Flash recovery Area

    Hello Oracleites,

I have a question for you guys today.

I have a data base of production with a size of 1 TB. We planned to RMAN backup in progress of implementation on it every night.

We don't have the Flashback option enabled for this database. Now we intend to enable recovery flashback on this database option.

Could you please help in finalizing the figures on how much Flashback recovery area, we need to get this implemented.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thank you

    Martine Sra

    Hey Garry Sra,

Well, you're the only one who could answer this answer, but what to look at is:

    1. How much redo is generated by the database if it is enabled in archivelog mode. If it isn't, then you must analyze married how your online newspapers, can be restored for a day;
    2. What will be your SLA regarding archivelogs in the disc, the archivelogs backup routine and the retention time of flashback (flashback is activated)?
    3. After that, you can make sure how much area recovery Flashback database will need.

    Kind regards.

Okay, so your SQL * Plus version is 11.2.0.2.0, which is be the same as the version of your database.  I don't see why you get these errors.

  • How to plan the backup archivelog in EM12c for a group

I am aware that I can schedule a backup of archivelog to a single database, but it is recommended, or indeed only just backs up multiple databases is to consolidate upward under a group and then schedule a backup for that group.

However, I think that Oracle can be left aside the backup archivelog to a group option. All that I can find a full or incremental backup option. Anyone know if it is possible to backup archivelog planned for a group?

    In addition, on a somewhat independent question;

If I put in place a system of backup of 1st day of the month and incr full backup for the rest of the month and I have a retention time of 14 days, food will be possible after 15 days?

You can schedule the backup archivelog as well as the full backup, there is a checkbox to do this, if it is enough for you. If you want to schedule a backup archivelog only you have the ability to create a multitasking job, with one step for each instance: Set rman environment and launch with the controls. That's the way I do my backups one after the other. But of course it is static, you must hardcode the instances in the work. There is no option to make backups only archivelog through em12c, at least not through the GUI.

    Regarding your backup problem:

The recovery window tells rman to consider as possible, obsolete backups after 14 days. He still however will check that they are really obsolete. Your only full backup will become obsolete until you make a new. However, the incremental backup may become obsolete and deleted. RMAN was able to retrieve the instance with the full backup and the archivelogs, so the oldest incremental backup should be obsolete.

You can ask rman which files are obsolete and explicitly specify the recovery window:

    RMAN > window recovery obsolete report 15 days;

  • undo_segments in the undo tablespace

    (4) I mean why he is stiil 450Mo undo_retention even through time or same validation has occurred?

    Just Oracle - Doc

Once a transaction is committed, the undo data are more necessary for purposes of recovery rollback or transaction. However, for consistent read purposes, long-running queries may require old undo information to produce older images of data blocks. In addition, the success of several Oracle Flashback features can also depend on the availability of the old cancellation information. For these reasons, it is desirable to keep the old information of cancellation for as long as possible.

Introduction to the management of the automatic cancellation

With undo tablespace, you would see extended with the status ACTIVE, EXPIRED, extents still to RUN.

Active cancellation extended are used by transactions and will be always active, because they are needed for the restoration.

Extensions has expired are not used by transactions, the data contained in these extended is committed and the time UNDO_RETENTION is passed, so it is not necessary for the coherence of reading and can be reused.

Not expired extensions are extended no assets but honor UNDO_RETENTION. Transactions belonging to these bodies of cancellation are determined, but the retention time has failed, and it may be necessary for the coherence of reading!
