RFI, caused by DM111P-100AUS modem

I have a N600 router modem, which worked well. Then we had suddenly rfi on the am radio and the internet give up every night at the same time. Turn off the modem and rfi have disappeared. Bought a new modem DM111P-100AUS today, thinking about the problem of rfi would leave. It is just as bad.

With a bit of lateral thinking, I checked my connection to the telephone line. I had the modem connected through my power supply Board, which had ports to protect the modem to the lightning. Put the connection directly through and the problem is solved. Thanks for the comments.

  • Radio Frequency Interference on external monitor with Tecra M10

I have a Tecra M10 that seems to emit RFI, causing lines of interference on the external VGA monitor and audible interference on its speakers.
I was worried that this might be a hard drive in trouble, but before the call to support, decided to continue the investigation.

First I tried unplugging all USB devices; the intervention was still there, so I tried to unplug the PC from the Express Port Replicator.
As I moved forward, the noise has been reduced, and this led me to check the power supply.
The unit is a 5 amp unit, PA3378-3AC3, and that seems to be the source of the DDR.

Port replicator came with a spare unit 5 amp, PA2521E-2AC3, but there is too little noise from it.

So I checked the two supplies with and without the duplicator.
    Noise each time.

Suggestions - is something wrong or it is to be expected with the Tecra M10 RFI?

    Hello

Have you checked if the same question would be displayed using the laptop with the own plugged AC adapter.
Someone had very similar problem and it was a problem to the ground using a power cable 3 pins for different could solve this problem.

But of course the question could be also related to the monitor cable external doggy.
The user in this thread has this issue.
The replacement of the power cable supplied with the monitor helped.

  • D7000 will not connect to internet after reinstalling

    Hello

We moved our D7000 modem router from one room to the other and now it does not connect to internet at all. I spoke with our ISP and everything is fine on their end. I connected the modem and reset our ISP connection & the password, and the ISP did the same thing, without effect. The phone line has been tested, it's ok. I swapped the cables to make sure that they are not defective. I moved the modem to return to the old location, but now it does not work there either.

WiFi seems to be ok and all our devices (phones, tablets, computer) recognize the wireless network and modem, but there is simply no internet connection. It is bizzarre! Nothing has changed, there is no new hardware, no updates or upgrades, the ISP is always the same, the only thing that differs is the location, in the same House.

The lights on the router modem are as follows:

    Food - white

    Internet - amber

    DSL - off

    WiFi - white

Any ideas what I could try to make it work again? Should I do a factory reset on it? This could be the cause? Move a modem do not stop working. We only had since November so it isn't old yet, and it has been working fine so far.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

It has been a while now, but I thought I would update this for anyone interested or affected by the same problem we did.

After weeks of back and forth with the ISP and try and test anything and everything we could think, including the replacement of the D7000 in store warranty (not just once but), and nothing is helping, the ISP finally filed a foul for us and sent a CET. And what do we know? There was a flaw in the riding of Telstra which he had found, and which caused our internet connection fails. After that which has been set, we are online again. The line still falls here and there and the phone line is cute, but at least we are connected.

And now I'm fighting with the ISP for refund during all these weeks we were disconnected while they refused to be a mistake for us and have someone out. Time for a new ISP, I think!

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem there.

    Thank you

  • Can I remove internet explore and use chrome instead?

Can I remove internet explore and use chrome instead? That is, crashes, to stop, resarts and slows my computor. I installed Google Chrome and have had no more problems. It opens and closes when I want it and going to the Web pages as I type in without hesitation. I like windows 7, I only have a problem with Internet Explore. It also caused changes in my modem. I need to uninstall the software and reinstall to get it working again. IO would open that is and get a message that says "no internet access - check your settings, I thought it was a virus at some point. As soon as I started using Chrome, everything worked again. That is also caused problems with my printer and home network. I don't mind that is being stored in a file, I don't want to work and make changes to my computer I'm not an it expert by any means. I restored my pc to an earlier time and new conditions of factory several times in the past year (I bought the HP pc new in December 2010).

It is not really a way to remove Internet Explorer.  I have not heard of the type of problems, you had with IE, but if you prefer Chrome and who works for you, all you need to do is to make Chrome the default browser.  I use Firefox and make it my default browser.  Once you make Chrome default you just leave Internet Explorer installed but it won't get used.  Following comes the site help Chrome and tells how to do it by default: http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95417

  • WRT320n causes my modem to restart

    Greetings,

I came here after searching the internet for a solution to my problem.

I have been using the WRT320n for awhile now and I get tired of losing my internet connection + 10 times a day. When I use programs that make heavy use of my bandwidth, such as BitTorrent-clients, my modem seems to restart. Now, one might think that the problem would be in the modem, but when I plug my PC directly to the modem I have not at all I have this problem and I can go for days out without losing my internet connection.

Is there a setting on the router that could cause this problem to occur? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Thank you for at least trying to help, it is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I've done both, I even turned off the firewall completely options, but my cable modem reboots after about 15 minutes. Today, I'm a guy of the technique from my ISP and he also tested my modem and noticed that there was nothing wrong with the modem because on a hard line related to my PC it restarts. It wouldn't check the router (if it is not their material that they don't care) and told me to just get a new one. I've only had this router for a few months and with normal surfing it never blocks my modem so that there must be a setting I'm missing.

  • ea6900 causes of latency in DOUBLES. compared to the modem.

    have a latest firmware ea6900.

the router double my time of latency in all online activities.

I live in massachusetts, this is what it's like.

    with ea6900 + modem

    40-60ms Newyork City

    40-60ms Chicago

    router ea6900 interrupt

and Modem connected directly to your pc.

    15-20ms Newyork City

    35. Chicago 40ms...

    MY QUESTION IS!

HOW DO YOU GET THE NORMAL (MODEM) LATENCY WITH THIS ROUTER.

    I WOULDN'T DOUBLE MS LATENCY.

If the wireless connection is on or off the effect 0.

If multiple connections or the connection ONLY 1 has effect 0.

I just want to get rid of this router?

not to mention that the high latency that it produces, it seems to be 100% ok...

    BUT THIS LATENCY! AAAAAAH!

    HOW TO FIX!

    Buy the new router?

OK, thanks for the impromptu support/help! (I'm kidding)

but I found a solution, so: YADIRA:

    allright.

    Here is the solution.

step 1. connect to 192.168.1.1 firmware

    step 2. go to "connectivity".

    step 3. Select "Internet settings".

step 4. Select "clone mac address" and enable it.

NOTE: the internet will probably die when you do this, its ok... Just go with it...

Wait for the router to finish the mac cloning (maybe 1 minute).

    step 5.

Disable all devices connected to the router... (stop all PCs, tablets, smartphones, whatever)

    step 6.

Go to your Modem and unplug / turn it off for 30 seconds...

    step 7.

Turn off your router once your modem is turned off.

    step 8.

now just let the these 2 devices for 1-2 minutes... off...

    step 9.

Plug the modem back, let it scroll until he is 100% ready again... coool.

    step 10.

turn on the router, let it reboot and do its thing...

    step 11.

back on the devices connected to all pc...

NOTE: You will probably see again 'NO INTERNET CONNECTION!'

    ITS OK!  Do not worry!

    Step 12.

now, go back to your MODEM.

    and unplug/restart it 1 time...

    (NOT THE ROUTER, THE MODEM)

    step 13.

RightClick your desktop internet icon and let him do something like this ideas.

    "solve problems etc.

step 14.   Wait for the pc to do its thing, try to open a web browser, etc.

your internet connection will be fix auto itself on the windows operating system.

After you complete these steps, I solved my problem of high latency.

Here's my current time of pings on a server WITH MODEM AND ROUTER CONNECTED browser.

    PERFECT!

Honestly, what are the pings I would give 100% expect to see with a decent internet connection.

He now works 100% I expect for my Internet/connection access provider.

If someone the players know the pings high with routers, but the normal pings with modems...

try cloning your mac and shuttingdown/restart all Modem/router/computer devices

    in the order mentioned above...

NOTE: you will see 'No. INTERNET CONNECTION' when executing this tweak, just go with it...

    and follow the above steps...

hope this helps everyone knows the abnormally high with routers pings all in game...

now I have to go, there are millions of virgins, I have to kill in counter-strike.

    Nice day.

    and I hope this helps!

Linksys admins/mods could sticky this or note it as a possible solution to a common problem for players.

  • New E4200 Causes cable Modem reset continuous

I just bought this router, all comments have been very good.  I hung it on a cable Modem Motorola of Comcast, after three to five hours the router forces the cable modem resets automatically.  If I disconnect the router and connect directly to the PC or my old linksys modem router behaves correctly.  I returned the first unit that I bought at the store, at the direction of Linksys technical support, second unit so I exchanged the premiera has the same problem.  Very frustrating, don't know what to do next other than to return for a refund.  I was looking forward for maximum performance.

I reported the issue to technical support, so far, they have me do a hard reset of the router, but that has not solved the problem.  I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows how I can solve this problem.

I wish some better attention from technical support, do not know if it is a firmware issue or what.

Aloha!  I recently bought an E3000 router to replace the old WRT54G Router and had the similar problem.  He kept my modem cable to reboot/reset after 6-12 hours.   I replaced the modem cable 2 weeks ago and had to reboot/reset once.

  • New Modem caused my printer to stop working

Recently I got a new modem installed and now I can't get my printer to work. I ran the troubleshooter and it still does not receive the signal from my wireless modem. How to reconnect the modem again? If I can't get the new modem to read my printer, I have to reconnect an old, but I would try to get the new one to work first.

I should mention, too, that before the new modem installed, I had lost the ability to print from the internet (although I could still print documents from my computer). Now I can't even print documents from my computer. Any suggestions?

Had the same problem when I got a new modem. Had to re - add the printer to the network.

  • Airport Extreme and Broadband Modem/Router

I have my Airport Extreme (5th generation) plugged into a Broadband Modem/Router combo. I would like to have both able to use their wireless capabilities. The Airport Extreme has been previously connected to a Modem broadband all my IP addresses came by Airport Extreme (192.168.2. *). With the New Modem/Router combo broadband, it uses 10.0.0 * so I would be able to use Airport Extreme to add the 192.168.2. * While having the 10.0.0. * the Broadband Modem/Router combo.

Is this possible and, if so, how do I configure Airport Extreme to do?

Normally, you don't want two devices on the same network as the two try to act as routers to the same network. Which will produce conflicts of IP addresses... which can possibly be addressed... and a Double NAT problem, which cannot.

The Double NAT error can cause a number of unpredictable issues... things like the problems of communication between the devices on the network, slow navigation... or, not navigation in the case of certain websites, Internet access slower, to name a few.

Yes, some users may get away with a Double NAT on a single home network, but unnecessarily complicating things over a network is normally something you want to avoid.

We do not recommend it, but if you really want AirPort Extreme for use range 192.168.2.x however, you can easily make this change using AirPort Utility. If you are not sure how to do this and need help, then we will need to know which version of AirPort utility you are using.

To find, open AirPort Utility, and then click the menu of AirPort Utility in the far left of the screen corner. Click on about AirPort Utility to see what version you have and post back with that info.

  • AirPort Extreme AirPort Extreme extension causes a loss of the internet

I extend an existing AirPort Extreme of 5th generation (a year or so old) with a new one. When I connect a new one for the network and power, airport utility sees the two airports and asks me if I want to extend the existing one. I clicked on extend and every thing seems to be well - within the parameters, he said that the new airport will extend the existing wireless network. Unfortunately this seemed to cause my modem to lose its connection to the Internet. I have reset the modem a few times, but it wasn't until I disconnected and "forgot" to the new base station that I was able to retrieve internet. Previously, I had an airport model more old where I was trying to find a new one, but it had its own wireless network, which is kind of a pain. I would really like to have just a single network for both airports.  Is this possible or do I. To keep them separate?

Thank you for any help or advice.

If you spread by wireless, you can't have the extreme new plugged in by ethernet.

If you do not want to extend wired you don't use wireless extension... you use create a wireless network with the same SSID (name Apple Wireless speaks) and the same password.

    Please give us more information.

What is the brand and model of the main modem?

Is this also a router? How the most extreme main airport is connected to the network?

This mode is in there... router or gateway?

Please take a few screenshots of the existing configuration using airport utility to show how the current airport is the installation program. We can then tell you the right way to connect the new airport.

Just to be clear is the New Extreme a nine Gen6... or you want to say you have an another Gen5. The Gen6 is now more than 3 years on the market... No gen5 were therefore sold for 3 years.

    Are mix you models?

  • iPhone WiFi 6 causes of network disruption

There is an old (locked) topic that seems similar unanswered: iPhone WiFi broken MacBook WIRELESS

    In our House, we have:

    -Airport Extreme (v2)

    -MacBook Pro

    -MacBook Air

    -iPhone 6

    -iPhone 6s

    -iPads

We have noticed recently that our Internet connection was really inconsistent.  After some time, we have done tests and concluded that when my wife turned on the wifi of iPhone 6, all other devices would have connectivity problems (slow, fall of entry and exit, etc.).  Turn it off, all right, turn it back on, everything is twisted.  We tried to look to see if all the apps were using a lot of data (pictures just Google had destroyed our wireless bill, so we removed that, but even with that gone, the question remained), but nothing was.  But even if I do a huge download or download on my laptop it does not cause these same questions, it seems to be a problem of low level network and NOT only volume of use.  Even with the updated iOS (9.3.2), the problem persists.

Are there known problems or patches (which I don't see Google search) about the interruption of network iPhone?

I've seen this problem posted here before with no clear resolution. The one feature that might explain it is prioritization of media on a router. However here is a user points to the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201252

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.

  • Tecra M9 - PC Card modem does not

First of all, I fully accept that I'm probably the cause of this problem and that somehow I've disheveled port numbers. But I do not remember how.

I have a PC Card modem that works well for years and still functions on my other PC. But the software does not find the modem now, so when I write, it does not find the modem. But the modem is turned on and the LEDs indicating the signal strength and connection are functioning normally.

I also tried to use an external CD drive in the slot, but it just will not be under tension and is not detected by the system (XP Prof).

Is the best challenge of re - install via CD or recovery is too drastic and I have to make a complete back-up first? Otherwise use the Tosh assist "System Restore" to a date that I know that the modem was working the last?

I can not even find the port of numbering in the manual so that I can re - install the modem on the correct comms port - I guess that Port 1 is the serial connection.

Sorry that I caused this problem myself, but I'd still be very happy if someone could help me, thanks.

    Mish

Can you please tell us what model of laptop do you have?
Generally best fix for such problems is picking up. After recovering you'll again factory settings and every slot, port, and the device should function properly.
Okay, that's a more radical but also more effective method.

If you will make the decision to do back up all your data because the HARD drive will be formatted and deleted data.

  • Guest with Shentel modem network

Is it possible to set up a network of comments with this modem and a new TC?

As you can see I have disabled the wireless network, but the network invited on my TC still does not work.

My TC is in bridge mode, and I know that I can not use the guest network in bridge but do not want to change bridge if it will mess up my primary network.

    Help.

    Michael

Sorry, but comments on the TC network functionality will only work if the TC is configured to act as a router on the network that provides DHCP and NAT services.

In other words, the function of feedback network won't work correctly when the TC is in Bridge Mode.

Not recommended... If the comments feature is important to you, you could try to implement the TC in a server DHCP of the router and NAT Mode... goal you will have two routers on the same network both try to control the network.  Not a good thing. Which will result in a condition known as a Double NAT error... which can cause a number of unpredictable problems. But, sometimes it will work for some users.  Once again, not recommended.

A better idea would be to check with your Internet service provider to see if it is possible to configure the modem Arris/router you have (you could call it a 'modem', but it's really a modem and a router in a single package, also called 'bridge') to operate only as a simple modem.  If she can do it, the TC can be configured correctly to be the router on your network.

A better idea, and probably more simple... would be to share the modem/router you have now for a simple modem. A simple modem will only have one Ethernet port at the back and look like this:

  • Problem with TC loss of connection to the modem cable

I have a TC of 2 TB which is connected to my ISP provided by cable modem. It worked fine for 3 months after the installation in December, but now all of a sudden it will lose its connection to the modem and we lose our wireless internet. We have replaced the modem cable and it does not solve the problem. I have to reset the TC 2 - 3 times a day. Nothing else has changed recently with regard to the network set up. that only changes were to specific devices that use the wifi connection, and this was always something changing, depending on the devices we use. Any thoughts? I'm not a savvy person tech, BTW.

We need to ask a few questions in order to learn more on what the possible cause of the problem might be.  Please be patient with this. Thank you.

What is the number and the model of the modem you are using right now?  We ask because some modems work better than others with Apple routers, and even if you have changed the modem, it could still be a model who does not get along well with the Apple router... or... you could say that the router from Apple does not get along well with the modem.

How old is the TC? We ask because the life expectancy, on average, a time capsule is about 3 years.  After that, they tend to start losing connections to an ever-increasing rate.

Who is your provider of Internet (ISP) Service?  We ask because most suppliers are in the active process of implementation of a new type of connection called IPv6 in their systems... and despite ISPS claiming that their system changes should cause no difficulties connection or interruptions system... which doesn't seem to be the case at all.

We have seen an unusual number of reports from users who suddenly have problems with their ISP connection, when things were very well for many months before. That points directly to the IPv6 changes that ISPS are doing as the culprit. In some cases, there could be way to work around the problem, and in some cases, there is nothing to do but wait as the ISP to complete their changes and be everything to speed.
