  Two days ago, I met a rather strange problem with the keyboard of my S205 (running Win7 64 bit). For some reason any the right shift key is no longer works as a shift key, but it has the same function as "Alt Gr" key on the right side. FYI: German keyboard. For example, the @ is on the same key as the Q here and normally I have press the AltGr key to type a @. Now the same thing with the right shift key.

  I tried a couple of things already, none of them helped. I have accidentally changed the layout of the keyboard, checked once again in the Control Panel, everything is OK here. No Fn - keys are activated. I tried to plug in an external USB keyboard - on that one, the shift key works fine. The right shift key is the only key that does not work properly. I even tried the keyboard on the screen so I could see which key was pressed when I pressed the SHIFT key and she showed the "Alt Gr" - button is pressed.

  I'm having a weird behavior with the right shift key and the numeric keypad. This happens when you use view 4 with PCoIP. When you use RDP to connect to a system and using the console in vSphere.

  To illustrate the differences in the way he behaves, I typed the following string in an RDP session and a Console Session of vSphere.

  I have the same model of laptop. The history is interesting and I checked all options on my M70, but in my case everything works fine.

  Probably to do with the language of the keyboard. Shift + 2 is the American keyboard. Go to control panel and click the language and region. In the window of the region and language, click the keyboard and languages and then click on the button "change keyboards. What language is in the box 'default language'? If it's in the United Kingdom and you are not in the United Kingdom, then click the Add button and select English (United States). Click the plus (+) next to the English (United States) option and then click on the plus sign (+) next to the option "keyboard". Here you will see a list of the types of keyboards, i.e. the United States Dvorak, Dvorak to the United States for the left hand, etc. If you have a keyboard to type Dvorak, then select one of them; If this isn't the case, then I suggest to choose the United States (international) or simply WE. Then click on the arrow to the right of the box in the section "default input language" and select English (United States), and then click apply then OK.

  Title says it all. I can reproduce the problem in 100% of the time.

  * It comes with the right shift key only.

  * Approximately 1/4 of the way from left to the right of the key, I support at the top of the key.

  * While the button is pressed, I drag my finger to the bottom of the key.

  * When I release my finger, they key gets stuck.

  I type a lot during the day and usually comes when I have to keep the press for a few strikes and my pinky slips a bit on shift, causing it to get stuck later.

  Someone at - there experience this problem? Workarounds, fixes?

  Well I just shift key is popped and inspected. Compared to the other shift key, listened carefully, etc... Realized that the left side of the metal clamp was getting caught on something. A shined a flashlight on the chassis and could see where it has been scrapped.

  So I took the metal key clip and shortened from the left side by a very small notch, put the clip in the key, ran the clip in the hole for it on the chassis and put back in place the key. Now, there is no more updated scrap of sound, I can't reproduce the problem key stuck, and it seems to work perfectly now.

  For anyone else reading this and looking to do the same thing, just take care with how you remove the metal clip because too much would probably make it remains not out of place in the chassis which would cause you must press on the centre of the button register a click.

  A hard reset forces the system to erase and restore the software connections between the BIOS and hardware.

  When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
