  • Lost access to the programs, not a virus or registry problem. Lost the rights to the user (?) but cannot access restore or modify user accounts

1st, I tried almost every fix suggested on this relatively common problem with no joy.  It is not a virus, unless it's something very new not found by all the usual scanners.

Only way to access the programs EXE is to run the command prompt by going to with CTRL - tour of the new task (run) in the Task Manager menu and then navigate to the appropriate directory and run the program from the command prompt.   Run virus checker and run various registry fixes recommended here with no joy.  Safe mode does not help with the launch of the EXE.

Because I get the 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.  When I try to run an exe from a link, I think I have lost the user privileges.  But, since I can't change the accounts of users or the restore, I can't try to do anything there.

This problem occurred after uninstalling several old unused programs followed by performing a disk defragmentation.  (everything is done using Microsoft System Tools).  PC worked after doing these things in vain after the next reboot.

Curiously, I CAN start the web browser from the start menu to post this message.

Another clue: I can't start programs by clicking on them, but I CAN run the program by opening a file type associated with this program, i.e., opening a file named text.doc will cause Word to open.

I am a fairly experienced user, but I'm stumped.  Any suggestions?

    Found solution...

Looked user accounts change program but cannot find or identify it was so impossible to try it.

I was finally able to identify (in trial & error) the restore program and run it using the command window.

The program (rstrui.exe) was found in C:\Windows\System32\Restore\rstrui.exe

I was able to run and to restore to a date when this problem started and that fix.   Still don't know what was the problem of the root but happy to be able to fully use this PC back again.

Thank you to everyone who made suggestions.

For voicemail partners changes/updates, you should choose

    Then; Users > Find/list > user associated with selectect > drop-down Edit > change passwords >

    Wasim Ismail,

To disable the menu item, you must give the full path to the menu item.

This means that the name of menus sub_menu main. name of the sub_menu

    SET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY('.', ENABLED, PROPERTY_FALSE);

If the current menu is 3 ^ rd ^ level, then you must use

  • DUN connection Bluetooth for Pocket PC, Vista and the user rights restricted

    Hallo,

I managed to establish a DUN connection to my smartphone WM5 Pocket QTEK 9100 Bluetooth-based and the Toshiba Stack, latest version. My laptop is an X 200 - 21 d with Vista Home Premium.

Everything works although I do not change the Vista user to a user with restricted rights, for the user with the Bluetooth utility administrator rights has created a new DUN connection and a new modem with a virtual COM port. The user with restricted rights is not allowed to set up a new connection, but it is necessary to connect to the smartphone with the Bluetooth utility. On the administrative account the option button to allow the connection to call other users is disabled and grayed out, so there is sort now open it up to other users.

How can I set up a Bluetooth DUN connection for a user with restricted rights?

    Thank you in advance!

If the user restricted use the same DUN like the Admin Setup?

If Yes, then you can use "Bluetooth-> custom Mode settings". This allows you to
Select the "Standard 33600 Modem" from the list that has been set up before
the admin. So every ONE that has been configured by the administrator can be used by the
User restricted with this method. Restricted users cannot install hardware, so
If the administrator has not installed a modem, then also the restricted user cannot use it.

The Admin can pre-install a modem with Bluetooth stack installation.
This is useful if the restricted user should be able to configure a DUN connection
with the advanced modem settings which are not used by the administrator.

This should be possible if the file "as.ini" has a line "MODEMINST = 1".

  • The User Interface browser missing

    Hello

I'm sorry, but the coffee crisis seems to persist...

While working on the interface graphical user Interface browser, located to the right of the user interface, disappeared. Because the GUI is larger than the window and I need to scroll horizontally to evaluate the right-hand side of it, I didn't know this fact immediately. Therefore, I don't know what it was, I did it to make the browser UI disappear. Navigation assistance, I found no hint of how to show/hide the browser, so I guess it should always be there...

I checked: the user interface editor is limited. I also tried to release and re - lock all windows, without effect.

  • Adding new user limited now that it is the only account that I can connect to

I can not connect as administrator on my windows xp pro 2002.  After you have configured the new limited user can't access a login screen other than my limited user account.  I did some research and tried several fixes. all to nothing does not.  Here are some of the things I did to remedy the situation and what happened:

    1. on the Welcome screen, click ctr, remove ALT twice... Nothing happens and still allows me to log on as a limited user
2 enter the hidden in safe mode administrator account.  When you connect in safe mode, it asks that I choose a user in the list... There are no users listed.
3 download Tweeku, allow me to download this program, or any other file .exe "NOT a VALID WIN32 APPLICATION".
4 4 changer change username, log in, etc.  All don't allow my same limited access account
    5. I tried to many other fixes as well, all with access denied... any privledges.

Bottom line... If I could do to an empty login screen, I would be able to login as administrator.  I note that in user accounts in Control Panel there is only my limited user listed but in virtue of the computer/administrative management tools there are my admin and accounts admin hidden as well as a few others but all have been disabled except the limited user account.   I'm out!  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Malekeah: Who is better than you?  Answer, PERSON, you are the best.  I'm at my account admin thanks to you.  I had loaded the wrong driver on a floppy disk.  Yet once, thank you for having these considerable knowledge and share with us.

  • How can I get the administrator rights on my user account?

    OT: Without administrator rights.

I don't have my active administrator account.

I had a user account that I removed myself from the group administrator.

Now I'm locked to do anything.

I can't assign me to the admin group, I can't allow the user to administrator, I can't edit some files or delete some software...

I tried cmd but get access denied when you try to activate the administrator account. It does not help if I open CMD or anything else with administrator privileges.

I can't open the recovery mode, tried to start in safe mode and all the rest.

How can I get the administrator rights on my user account?

I had a user account, which I removed myself from the group administrator.

-> This is called "paint yourself in a corner.

I tried cmd but get access denied when you try to activate the administrator account. It does not help if I open CMD or anything else with administrator privileges.

-> Is normal. Either you are an administrator, or you're not.

How can I get the administrator rights on my user account?

-> Ask a friend to burn a CD repair system for you (Control Panel / backup and restore). Now to use this CD to start the machine in Repair Mode, and then use the system restore to set Windows to a point before you downgrade your one and only the admin account.

When you're done, plan ahead a little and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  • Report the user in Question TMS Cisco CDR

    Hello

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I know that you can run the RDC in Cisco TMS user report, however, that draws its stats for all users within TMS. Is there a way to group users in a model may be to only run the report on these users?

    Thank you!

    Hello Mike.

It is not possible to the users group when you run the CDR of the user report, it appears that all users.  The only option I see, you can do this, is to export the report to an Excel spreadsheet and manually group users as you want.

If this is something you would like to see, you can contact your Cisco account manager and ask them to create a feature request for you.  However, with most devices that this report is based on (ie: video Jabber for TelePresence, EX60/90, E20), most to soon be EOS if not already, I doubt that they incorporate such an improvement.
