RV042 to RV320 passing

Hi all

As the title says I spend a RV320 since a RV042.  I want to minimize the downtime of the network and configure the RV320.  Is it possible to display the backup file Mirror.config of the RV042 and be able to create a startup.config file that I was able to load in the RV320?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jon

Hello

The RV042 config file is encrypted is not not clear text so we can draw information, as we do not have a tools for this.

Only way is to have access on the two router (WebGUI) so we have visibility to the RV042 configuration and configure with the RV320

Thank you

Mehdi

  • RV042 vpn - stops passing traffic but remains connected

We have two boxes with a VPN tunnel RV042 connecting.  No problem, initiating the tunnel or passing traffic initially.  However, after "a certain" time (apparently random amounts of time) the VPN stops passing traffic.  Then, someone needs to go in web admin and disconnect/reconnect the VPN how it's ok once again.  What now happens several times a day.  FW ver is 1.3.12.6 on both sides - and addresses static ip from the ISP on both sides as well.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Drew,

Sorry I don't have a solution for you, but your post almost made me cry. We are experiencing the same problem, but with the VPN gateway to gateway static to the dynamic. I was hoping that the problem should go away if I could make the static dynamic side. It seems now I'm looking for other solutions. I wish you luck and thank you for bringing This gap to my attention.

  • RV042 vpn pass trough droping?

    Hello

I have a Linksys RV042 (defined as a gateway, Firmware Version: 1.3.12.19 - tm) witch I use to balance the load. Two difrent ISP, one in WAN1 defined for ip automaticlly and the other in WAN2 with a static IP address. The two set MTU to 1492.

On WAN2 I configured a VPN tunnel to another site where I have a Zywall 10w, witch works fine without any problems.

In the building, we have about 30 computers. Some of them use software that works through a vpn connection. This vpn connects ok until a point when juicing it immediately and it does not connect at least that I reboot the Linksys.

The newspaper does not say enithing.

I discovered that when I change the MTU or renew the IP address of the connection drop.

Is that it must do something with load balancing?

    It is out of memory?

Discount to zero might help but you must reconfigure everything.

    reflash the firmware.

    HOEP that helps.

  • RV320 where is finding a NSD pass for USB Ports

    Hello

I have a RV 320 FW: 1.1.1.1.19 I try to bring a USB Dongle to work on USB1.

In failover USB settings I can change the settings for 3g / 4g primary Mode off and save it.

But now when I want to change to another mode like failover/hot or cold / failover or primary router reports an error

what it says: Please enable NSD to USB Port... but I can't find a switch for the NSD on USB in the Menu of the router.

    Anyone know where to find?

    Thank you

    Hello

I see that you have opened a ticket with support of this, so I'll give you the answer to the public.

To avoid seeing this message, WAN1 network service detection both WAN2 must be verified. There is no NSD for the USB port. I see that the message is misleading, pointing to the USB interface. It is intended to be fixed in the future.

  • Two RV042 VPN has been a problem to get to the third-party router

Hello, I have two RV042 connected via VPN very well.    First network let's call A.A.A.A Second network have also RV042 to B.B.B.253.   B.B.B. network, we have Cisco router another provider to B.B.B.254.    On this second network configuration on B.B.B.253 (our default gateway) saying that all traffic will C.C.C.C I have routing tables (just an IP address not a subnet) must pass through the router Cisco at B.B.B.254 and the location of B.B.B.B works well.

What I'm trying to accomplish, is the unique through the RV042 VPN network A.A.A.A than when I go to C.C.C.C of IP address and get passed out through B.B.B.254 (Cisco of the seller).   I had the seller put the roads in their router to be able to deliver the A.A.A.A network and can ping on both networks.   Specifically, I can ping from A.A.A.A to B.B.B.254.   However, I would like to install my on A.A.A.A routing tables so that whenever someone goes to the unique address of C.C.C.C it passed through the VPN to the B.B.B.254.   All my efforts have failed.   I do not exclude the seller screwed up somewhere, but have been working on this all day and am running out of ideas.  It's for all the suggestions and thanks for any help!

    Concerning

It is not possible. The RV042 using a simple IPSec VPN Tunnel tunnel. Plain IPSec has routable interfaces. You cannot add static routes to handle additional traffic through the tunnel. IPSec will be tunnel only traffic that matches local & remote security groups. Because C.C.C.C is not part of a security group that he will not get in the tunnel.

  • RV042 dual wan port forwarding challenge

I have the latest firmware for this router. Here's what I want to do.

WAN1 is connected to our primary ISP and has a static IP address. We pass a bunch of ports to our SBS 2003 for VPN server and the purpose of remote desktop. Redirect us P - FTP and FTP ports to another computer on the domain to use as FTP server, and we have access to this computer directly from our office as a mapped drive.

WAN2 is connected to our secondary ISP that has a static IP address. I want to forward ports 80 and 443 of this connection to our FTP server (which has the internal IP address of 192.168.1.21) as well for this same computer can host our project Web site without needing us to get another computer that we would have to have in the office.

This doesn't seem to be easily possible with the RV042.  I am open to any suggestions on how I can do that; I have another router I could throw into the mix if that would solve the problem.

In fact, there to make a NAT on a public IP address to match an internal IP address of your choice.  I used the static IP address of the second internet connection and mapped it to our FTP server.

The only downside is that the FTP server is no longer protected by the firewall, so I had to install a software firewall to protect it from the outside world ;-)

  • RV042 V3 with firmware 4.0.0.07 - tm

I used the rescue of the firmware utility to get 4.0.0.07 - tm on this RV042 V3.

Now, I want to upgrade to the latest: 4.2.3.03

I downloaded the last as stated above and I use the http GUI to do the upgrade.

I search for the file and click on upgrade, as usual...

He asks if I want to update the firmware now... as usual.

    But then:

The browser passes immediately to: "cannot display this page."

And then the GUI can be recharged as if nothing happened.

I tried an upgrade a little older and the same thing happens.  It seems that this is not a bad file.

    Hello

I'm sorry that you are having problems with the device.

I think that this problem could be related to a browser compatibility problem that should be solved once you are able to upgrade.

I would recommend to use different browsers, Chrome or Firefox, Internet Explorer expected to also work on compatibility view.

If you still experience the problem, you can clear the cache of your web browser, it could try to reach a different link to were stored in memory rather than the real link, it sends the new firmware will.

Please try this and let us know the results.

    Hello

Is it possible to display the list of open ports by using UPNP applications/devices?  In RV042, there is a 'UPnP Forwarding Table list' which is updated when a query or a device opened a port via UPNP.

I can't seem to find the equivalent in RV320 / RV325.   Pls advise.

  • RV320 static subnet ISP

    Hi guys,.

First of all, I'm a guy from Layer 7 and have only basic knowledge on networks. With this knowledge, I have problems to set up a RV320 (v1.1.1.19 (2014-12-01)) with a static IP subnet of my ISP. I have a 29 subnet with a FritzBox cable as a modem cable simple (no firewall works etc. on the FritzBox). I have an IP address configured for the interface WAN1 (90.xxx.xxx.206). The second is configured as DMZ. Now, I would like to pass the remaining public IP addresses with different ports to dedicated DMZ servers.

    To be more clear:

    Modem cable (90.xxx.xxx.201)

    WAN1 90.xxx.xxx.206 (subnet 90.xxx.xxx.200/29) GW: 90.xxx.xxx.201

    WAN2 / DMZ: 10.0.0.0/24 (different 8-port Switch)

    LAN1: 192.168.1.0/24 (different 24-port Switch)

There is no connection / (other than the RV320) Road between LAN and DMZ (separate interfaces configured on the VMware host computers)

I don't know if I have to configure the RV320 as gateway or router. The current settings are the entrance door. I have attached a small diagram to make things clearer (hopefully).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I created this document to set up something very similar to what you're asking here. I think that it will suit your needs very well.

Please see the attached document and let me know if it was helpful to you.

  • RV320 VPN cannot access peripheral LAN using iPad

With the help of RV320, firmware 1.1.1.06

    LAN 192.168.1.x 255.255.255.0

    VPN 192.168.09.100 to 192.168.09.150

I need to access a device on the local network using this VPN connection from iPad. The Unit received address DHCP on LAN, broadcasts its presence every second on the Port 4992.

When it is on the LAN, the iPAD sees the presence of broadcasting and accesses the device without problem. When I VPN in, easy VPN works well. I configured the firewall of the router as the rules:

    Allow All traffic [1] LAN 192.168.9.100 ~ 192.168.9.150 192.168.1.1 ~ 192.168.1.255

    Always

    Allow All traffic [1] LAN 192.168.1.1 ~ 192.168.1.255 192.168.9.100 ~ 192.168.9.150

    Alway

If I first connect to the device when the iPad is on the local network, I turn off WiFi and connect through the VPN, I can continue to control the device. However, if I'm not connected to the device locally first, I see the presence broadcast on port 4992 when it connects first via the VPN. Broadcasting does not reach the iPad from a 192.168.1.x device connected 192.168.9.x.

What is the correct way for the iPad on the 192.168.9.x, see the dissemination of 192.168.1.x?

    Hello

Broadcasts will not be sent on the VPN tunnel.  The only traffic that will pass from the LAN to your customer's traffic specifically aimed at it, otherwise the router send him outside.  Looks like your presence Pack is a show, so all VPN clients won't be able to see.

I think that when you connect locally you are picking up on the broadcast and then when you go to the VPN that has not passed yet, so why does it work if you connect locally first.

    Hope that helps a little,

  • RV042G vs RV320

    Hi all

Can someone pls explain to me the difference between these 2 models? because I certainly can't find anywhere outside 900mbps vs 800mbps in NAT.

Basically, I need the best ones for the dual WAN Gigabit + DHCP to the local network, no need to VPN.

    Any idea?
    Thanks to you all!

The RV042G is a next generation of the RV042 model while the RV320 is the most recent version of this device.  Personally, I'd go with the RV320 she would have more support, but maybe also more bugs.

I enjoy any support for a trial with RV042 VPN IPSec game please.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Bay, if you use a Windows computer, you can use QuickVPN. The only thing to note is the router that you have as the gateway to the RV042. You must define a port forward for all IPsec services be able to overcome the problems with the NAT device.

RV042 configuration is easy, create a name of user and password and that's it. The problem/challenge will get your NAT connection to allow VPN pass.

  • The RV042 web utility screen turns off after the connection

I'm running a new RV042 with the latest firmware (4.1.1.01).  I put about 2 weeks ago and have been running without a problem.  Today, I tried to go the web utility to make a few changes.  I was invited for the user and password name, which seems to accept (if I typed in the wrong he rejected), and then the screen went blank (normally I would get the status display now.)  Instead, the screen I get is the blue light of the login screen, but there is nothing about it.  The router is passed to the https://192.168.1.1/home.htm page

I have tried different browsers and access it from multiple computers - the situation is always the same.  I rolled power the router, and there is no change.  I suspect that the next step is a manual reset to factory settings - but of course I'd rather not (as I'm not saving all my settings of course!)

Any suggestions for how to get to see the content?

  • RV042 open ports 80 and 443 to Shields UP! When using QuickVPN

Is it possible to use QuickVPN with the RV042 without leaving ports 80 and 443 open to Shields UP great! scans?  As a solution, I'm pass these ports to a non-existent IP address and forcing QuickVPN to use 60443 port.  Yes, 60443 watch also opened too if I scan it, but at least it is not in the ports first 1056.

    Any help much appreciated.

Router Linksys brand is using the latest firmware for this material (1.3.13.02 - tm)

    Tim,

As shields up is a very good tool to run inside your network to get an idea on what ports are open. It is best to run the scan of a computer that is not behind your network. I use nmap http://nmap.org/ and scan my network from the outside to get a better idea on which ports will show open. Since Shields up is running on your computer, it will display the results based on your computers as firewall. Yes Qvpn requires 443 or 60443 to be tuned by the router to establish a connection.

  • RV042 Question of static routing

I am currently using RV042 in the two-WAN backup mode. However, I tried the redundant option and think it's to give me more bandwidth and better performance than only the WAN.

My problem is that in redundant mode, I am unable to use a few sites that I use on a regular basis. One of the sites is our Web Timesheet hosted service and their website will just crazy when I try to access the router set up in redundant mode. I am still not able to connect to their site, and it is important for my daily work.

My question is - can I configure static for some sites routes so that the router knows he must access them through my WAN alone? For example, if my site of timesheet software is 123.123.123.123, and my favorite WAN gateway is 68.68.68.68, I can the router only to access this site through the specific gateway, even if the router is configured to use either WAN?

I tried static routes and it doesn't seem to work at all.

    For example:

    Site: 123.123.123.123

    SM: 255.255.255.0

    Gateway 68.68.68.68

When I save it and run the tracert to 123.123.123.123, it passes through the other door, and not that I mentioned here.

    Any tips are appreciated.

    Thank you
    Alex P.

If your help it balance mode, go to system management support and scroll down to protocol binding.  Chances are you're going to a site secured with the two beginning of work and the site sees a connection with two upcoming ip home addresses and interrupts the connection.  You can perform a binding protocol for all your https traffic out a wan for all your network ip addresses and this should solve the problem.  You can do it for mail and other protocols that would be stripped by the dual wan.  I hope this helps.
