RV042G vs RV320

Hi all

Can someone pls explain to me the difference between these 2 models? because I certainly can't find anywhere outside 900mbps vs 800mbps in NAT.

Basically, I need the best ones for the dual WAN Gigabit + DHCP to the local network, no need to VPN.

Any idea?
Thanks to you all!

The RV042G is a next generation of the RV042 model while the RV320 is the most recent version of this device.  Personally, I'd go with the RV320 she would have more support, but maybe also more bugs.

    Hi all

I have 3 x RV320 with the latest firmware to all configure to use VPN from gateway to gateway in a configuration of spokes and hub.

  • No internet with SG300 and RV320

    Hello

Kind of a number is double.

I currently have a SG300 L3 mode and a RV320 router. My original thought was to have the L2 switch and have the handle RV320 routing, DHCP, and DNS. I was told by some of my colleagues that I should have the L3 switch manages the Routing and use the RV320 just at the gates of the internet with firewall/NAT. The problem I have now is, according to the Administrator's guide, the RV320 must be in gateway mode since it will be the device actually connected to the internet... Problem is that ping outside the internet does not work, DNS relay seems to work, but nothing else. How are the packages supposed to get out if the router has not a '. '. 1"address. In addition, one-to-one NAT and PAT is not enabled, is NAT works not at all?

I put virtual local networks in place in the RV320 and roads seem to be there. What I am doing wrong? I'm about to give up and return to the L2 mode on the switch.

Also, I had to give the DHCP responsibility towards the SG300 as the RV320 handed himself a default gateway '.» 60"and not the". " 1 "the SG300. What is the problem with that? I want to use RV320 as my DHCP/DNS box, but that seems to be easier said than done.

    SG300:

    VLAN104

    VLAN105

    RV320:

    VLAN104

    VLAN105

    192.168.5.60

    192.168.4.60

I don't think its possible to do, but maybe cisco can ring if it is possible or not

    Thank you

    Raphael.

When you select the Source address and destination, you should be able to choose the range. There is no option to select a VLAN.

  • RV320 as SBS2011 router as DHCP server and use IPSEC

    p {margin-bottom: 0.25 cm; line-height: 120% ;}}

Our society is really eager to acquire a VPN Cisco RV320 router to replace our old insecurity only PPTP VPN-router. Before actually buying the router, there are a few questions I'd like to have answered.

In our current setup, we have a SBS2011 standard Server which is used as a DHCP, DNS, Exchange, and SMB server to our network of the company, all the peripheral functions within the same network (192.168.0.1/24).
We would like to add the RV320 to our network to allow access of employees to the corporate network when they are at home or on the road using IPSEC VPN (client site).

In our current configuration us use (or used) a VPN router and VPN clients allowed to acquire an IP address from the PPTP server, these IP addresses have fallen in a range that the DHCP SBS2011 server was free to distribute the. It's quite simple actually

How can we configure the router RV320 so that there will be any conflict between the RV320 router and SBS2011 Server regarding distributing them IP addresses to the VPN IPSEC clients?

Can configure us the RV320 to transfer earlier requests DHCP server SBS2011?  We want all customers (including IPSEC VPN clients so that they enter the same network).
Is it possible to simply using the DHCP-relay option (in the web interface) and entering the IP address of the server SBS2011?

We should disable the DHCP on the router-RV320, or is there another way to continue using the SBS2011 server as the DHCP server, while allowing client-to-site IPSEC VPN for access to our local network?

    Thanks in advance

Hello and thanks for the exam Cisco for your network needs.

First of all, I understand that you are used to working with the PPTP connection and now you want to switch to a more secure IPSec connection.

It's a great idea, but there are a few things to consider:

    1. the RV320 supports the IPSec VPN via the Cisco VPN Client 5.0, you can download it from the site Web of Cisco if after you buy a contract for the router.

The contract will set will cost about $70, depending on where you decide to buy it, but it has several features including 3 years of telephone support 24/7 and next day replacement guarantee for business if the unit doesn't respond, it also allows you to download special software like the Cisco VPN Client.

    2. for client VPN connection, you can not, or you need to try to relay the DHCP request what, whether the router will handle it and he will probably be on a different subnet from your local network, but it will you access to all devices on the network.

3-If you do not want to buy the contract, then you can always use PPTP to the RV320 and it will give you the same access that you are already accustomed.

I hope that was helpful, please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • RV320 as a switch

Is it possible to use the RV320 as a switch?  I need a switch for a network segment (same subnet) and have a unused RV320 I could use.  What is the best way to do it?  I was wondering if the WAN port is a dynamic IP, I can put it in router mode and just connect the other devices on the LAN ports and it would work?

  • Port forwarding for Cisco RV042G TSE

Hi, I have just configured a Cisco small Business routers on my network RV042G. My problem is that I would like to allow TSE through the WAN1 and I am not able to do. I place this information in the menu:-Setup / Forwarding TSE[TCP/3389~3389]->192.168.1.15 - firewall / access rules: allow TSE [3389] WAN1 192.168.1.15 ~ 192.168.1.11 192.168.1.15 ~ 192.168.1.15 still configuring it please? Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the reply.

There is nothing else that can be done on the router RV042G. all the configuration is in place.

The only other way to make this work is to see if you can do the port forwarding on your modem and then forward all ports to the WAN address of the RV042G, or if the modem allows to create a DMZ, then you can connect the router to the DMZ port, but that's all.

    Please let us know.

  • RV042G VPN Client to gateway does not

I try to use the gateway client and want to connect my laptop to the router with a vpn as screwsoft or greenbow client.

can someone help me out here? PPTP seems only open ports when activated, but I don't want to use it.

  • Connection to the Wan to LAN RV320 1 individual

    Hello

I have a cisco RV320, I use 2 wan with different ISP connections.

It is possible to come out with an ISP to one of the 4 LAN ports?

I need a specific LAN port for internet connection comes from a specific or 2 wan1 wan, and other lan ports to use load balancing feature.

    Is it possible?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Thank you for the information.

After reviewing the chart, it seems that what you need is to create links of Protocol 2, on Router 2 and the other on the first router so that traffic can be directed out of the ISP on the right.

Unfortunately, this is not supported as the routers were not intended to work like this, so there is no way to guarantee that traffic on the second router will come out of the ISP on the right on the first but you can try.

Please let me know if it worked.

  • RV320 Hello discovery through VLANs?

    Hello

I have one network consisting of 2 VLANS - one for the 'main' network and the other for a network "invited" using a RV320 router configuration. I have a couple of Apple TV and a Setup program TV smart Sony on the main network VLAN. I wish that these devices to be detectable and usable on the guest VLAN. After reading different articles on Hello, it seems that it is not easy to do.

Can anyone confirm whether or not it is possible to provide this functionality on the router RV320? Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but I'm very positive that Hello traffic will remain in the VLAN. This type of traffic is not allowed across on other VIRTUAL networks.

I don't know there is a solution, but I do not.

  • 3 RV320 VPN with a local IP address

    Hello..

I have 3 RV320 routers, I try to connect by VPN all routers together, the problem is I have a server on a single router 192.168.1.200 and I need to connect the terminals to the other routers on the internet...

    any suggestion?

Connect VPN tunnels between all 3 units.  Please keep in mind that subnets are different.  Get close to the tunnel.  Ping 192.168.1.200 at two remote sites to verify connectivity.  Try the terminals.

  • VPN on 3 routers routing RV320

I have 3 RV320 configured as a Hub & talk VPN configuration. VPN configuration everything from gateway to gateway

All 3 RVs have direct access to the internet because they are set to be the gateway instead of the router.

The problem I encounter is the 2 rays cannot see each other, but both can see the hub.

I need to configure on talking RV to create a route to reach the other spoke RV and vice versa.

    Thank you.

    Yes, most certainly.

You can create a VPN of mesh and all devices must be able to talk to each other. The best part is that this type of configuration is supported, so if you have problems we can certainly help you.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco RV042G problems?

    Hello

Im having a problem with a router cisco RV042G and im hoping that someone could give some advice.

I have two Cisco 1720 routers and router RV042G. I use the RV042G as a "border" router, which gives access WAN/internet outside of two 1720 routers.

The two 1720 routers are connected to each other (ports eth0 on both) with crossover. Also, each 1720 router is also connected to one of the 4 ports on the RV042G router switch. The fa0 on each 1720 router port is connected to its own switch with customer (s)

Logically, it is what is the page layout...

I have configured all interfaces whose IP correct using VLSM. The two LANs are on their own subnet, and each router to router connection is on its own subnet.

I have configured RIP version 2 on the two routers in 1720 and also on RIP on the RV042G and configure it to send and receive updates V2. RIP version 2 is working great between all three routers.

View the routing on the two routers in 1720 table is perfect. They RIP routes to each subnet and also received a route RIP of the border for the WAN to the outside router.

Both routers are also capable of ANYTHING, ping clients on both sides, each router interface, the border and outside addresses WAN router.

My problem is with the customers. Both Clients can ping EVERYTHING except the border router (RV042G). They can ping each other, they can ping all the interfaces on the routers of 1720, but they cannot ping the RV042G or whatever it is in addition to the WAN (where customers will receive their internet from)

Im a little confused. If it were another manageable router as the 1720 I could get this race. Throw the NAT on the router to border and move on with life. But because it is a router in the web interface, I can't seem to understand why clients cannot reach the border router when two routers have RIP routes and can ping it very well.

The firewall on the RV042G is completely right now, as well as client firewalls.

Here is the config of the two 1720 routers:

outhfieldRouter#show run Building configuration... I had a model of plotter package physical layout that worked very well. Packet trace is not similar to the RV042G router, so I used three of the same routers.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    > Both Clients can ping EVERYTHING except the border router (RV042G).

based on this, I hope that RV042G did not know where to send the icmp response - i.e. RV042 is missing information on both client subnets. ICMP echo is received successfully by RV042G, but the response is sent to the wrong direction (default route to the internet?).

    > RIP v2 is working great between all three routers.

How did you get this? can you show us routing table from at least RV042G router? for me, for some reason any RIP routing updates are not accepted/Treaty by RV042 router.

1720 routers configuration seems perfect, part of RIP configuration as well and routing updates to be sent out of all interfaces except Fa0 interfaces.
