RV082 CPANEL question

Hello

I use Cisco RV082 as a basic device to simultaneously use 2 different WAN connecations. Everything works well except Cpanel services. Our 1 connection speed is 3Mbps (CIR) and 1 Mbps connection 2nd speed. whenever someone trying to use www.xxxxx.com/cpanel (2080-2090 ports) they get the LOGOUT error due to the change of IP address. To avoid this problem, I put perioriy in the management of bandwidth to fix the connection 1 for requests for Cpanel. After restarting the router, it works for some time but again once our developers faced the same problem. Please help me to solve this problem as soon as possible.

Ramirez,

Go to system-> double-WAN. Select Load Balance and you will see the protocol binding at the bottom of the page. Select Service Management to create the service for the port range. Here are some examples of settings:

Service: cpanel (personalized service created by you for 2080-2090 ports)

Source IP: 192.168.1.2 to 254 (substitute your LAN IPs)

Destination IP: use cpanel server IP or all zeros for all

Interface: Link traffic WAN 1 or 2 WAN

Activate: select

When finished, add to the list and save the settings. This should force all traffic on port 2080-2090 to use WAN port selected. It's a good idea to do this for HTTPS as well because there are known problems.

  • RV082 resets

    Hello

We have a router RV082 this reset of days he has started some himself after normal use.

The simpton is that when people came to the office, from the use of Internet the RV082 resets. It remains online for 3 to 12 minutes, and then put it back again.

    I solved the problem by:

-Click on Reset to Factory Default in the web interface

-After the reset, I confirmed that it was reset reset again using the default factory reset button

    -manually reconfigure the RV082

I also tested with an another identical RV082 (hw and the firmware version) and after making a backup of the original rv082 config and restore in the new rv082, the same problem happends.

So my question is: why is this happening? And how to avoid to happen again?

    Thank you very much

No one really knows what information is in the backup file. In general, are stored passwords that do not need to be transferred elsewhere encrypted and cannot be decrypted. Most likely, you need to reset your router to the factory settings. But you can try asking your question in the support community Cisco Small Business for routers. • RV082 multiple subnet and DHCP

    Hello

I want installation 2 lans in my RV082:

    192.168.1.0

    and

    192.168.2.0

My question is what happends as DHCP?

I tested and it gives only IP via DHCP addresses in the 192.168.1.0 lan. What happens if I put a WRT54G2 DHCP service in the Lan 192.168.2.0 and connected to the RV082?

So, in this case the multiple subnet are useful?

    Thank you very much

    Oliver

In general: the RV082 is now part of Cisco Small Business, and you might want to ask your questions in the Cisco Business little community support for routers. You will find people from Cisco over there...

It is my understanding that the function of multiple routers RV LAN subnet extends the NAT tables. By default, the router of RV will be only NAT for source from inside the LAN IP subnet IP addresses. If your router is equipped with the 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 by default then it will be only to do NAT for 192.168.1. * IP address, but not others. If you connect a different LAN (for example, 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0) subnet across another router (the one without NAT) to your RV then the different LAN subnet would no internet because the RV does not know the LAN subnet and it doesn't NAT. basically the RV would send source IP addresses * 192.168.2 unchanged in the internet where they would quickly disappear. The function of multiple subnet allows you to say the RV that 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 is actually a subnet of your local network, routed and is supposed to happen by NAT.

  • RV082 and fast VPN

I tried to configure my router RV082 all OE quick VPN access. I bought this router a few years back with the intention of setting up a VPN. Now that I need to do, this product is no longer supported.

In any case, down to the problem - I can not past the first problem. I get an error that says: "Unable to connect" and it lists 5 problems:

    1. wrong password

    2. no IP address for the network card

    3. incorrect server address

    4. you may need to disable your windows firewall

    5. conflicts of IP addresses with the subnet of the remote VPN server

    I just tackle these questions

    1. I am using the correct password

    2. I have an IP address, I can get on the internet

    3 server address is correct

    4. do not use the windows firewall (I have even disabled my firewall, netgear home but no help)

    5. work 192.168.0.x subnet, host is 192.168.1.x, different subnets.

When I'm at home, I can connect to the remote router configuration page, but I can't get anywhere with fast VPN. I tried this on 3 different networks, all give me the same answer. I am inclined to believe that this must mean I'm incorrectly configured on the router, but I followed all the steps as described by linksys. I even upgraded to the latest firmware and the latest version of quickVPN all to nothing does not.

I use access rules to guide the SQL traffic to one of our servers, that is the question? Any ideas?

Thank you for your response. You are right it is not access rules, but it is the configuration of the router. In the tab "Firewall", you need to enable HTTPS. There was nowhere in the product manual update, I downloaded, but it was on the info for the Firewall page tab. The only reason why that I disabled it HTTPS is that my remote management session with the previous firmware would sometimes close unexpectedly under HTTPS. In any case, connection works fine now.

So my next question has to do with the speed. This is the first time I've gotten a quick VPN to work. When I connect to my ping time to a server is 60-80ms. At work, it is 1 ms. It is common to have a time big lag? Unfortunately at this slow speed this VPN may not be such a solution. I used a PPTP VPN in the past and latency are not too bad, but of course there is no encryption that is important here. Any thoughts on the speed?

  • Upgrade to RV082 VPN BEFVP

I encountered some problems while trying to upgrade a virtual private network that was previously using two BEFVPs successfully.

The tunnel type is Gateway - gateway. It seems that the RV082 no longer has the ability to accept "Any" remote gateway connection requests.

    Always an IP address.

Is there a solution for this?

This is necessary because the sole purpose of this VPN has a static IP address, the other is dynamic and is not registered with any provider of DynDNS.

I'll keep the other issues for later. This is the main.

Since no one else has, I'll answer my own question.

The user guide is not too clear about that, but the router has the ability to accept connections from a dynamic ("any") ip.

The type of remote connection "Dynamic IP + E-mailAddr [USER FQDN] authentication" does not require the FQDN of the USER to save. It is only required that she listed in the router.

  • RV082 v4.0.0.07 individuals and access rules NAT problem

    Hello

I just bought two RV082 to run a 20 computer and office web server 4. I use special NAT to public IPs are mapped on different servers and our monitoring system and it seems to work very well. For each address of individuals using a NAT, I created the following access rules:

    Allow HTTP WAN1 everything [PA]

    Allow SSH WAN1 everything [PA]

    Refuse all WAN1 everything [PA]

Allow rules are of a higher priority so my experience with other firewalls suggests that they should be applied first blocks access to all ports and ports HTTP and SSH then would be open. What seems to be the case is very disconcerting, with any rules applied Allow refusal rules are removed completely open all ports. If I move the priority of rule Deny it blocks all ports, as expected.

My question is how can I prevent access to all ports except ports HTTP and SSH with the router in NAT mode specific.

When an access rule is set on a NAT 1 rule at 1, you want to change the public ip address to the private IP which is mapped to the public ip address.

Allow to use HTTP WAN1 everything [private address]

Allow SSH WAN1 everything [private address]

Refuse all WAN1 everything [private address]

  • Conflict of Certificate SSL RV082 Cisco for ActiveSync

I have a Cisco RV082 session before my exchange server. I have the port forwarding for 443 to my exchange server.

My ActiveSync (iPhone, Droid) users get a connection error when HTTPS is enabled on the Firewall tab using the MS Connection Tester, it appears that the ActiveSync connection picks up the cert of Cisco, installed on the RV082 and not the cert I on the Exchange Server.

If I turn off HTTPS then it all works.

That would be fine except that I seem to need HTTPS to my VPN connection enabled to work.

    Help!

I saw this question on RV0xx V3 devices. The devices are built with more security, but the device will always meet the demands of SSL certificates and not transfer the request even if the port forward is activated. Even when the port which is transferred 443 is not the router will always respond with its own SSL certificate. If you experience this kind of configuration problems. Please if you do not need ensure the management to distance, SSL VPN, or secure disable management LAN HTTPS under the firewall settings. I ve no more ideas, the I ve found anything in the internet, or on google, nor in this forum that match my troubles.

Please give me your comments, regards dario

PS: Sorry for my bad English...

It will be difficult, especially because QVPN does not allow you to configure it to several networks. The reason why PPTP and QVPN work doesn't have is the Protocol in use. QVPN use IPSec in which you specify the authorized networks, where in PPTP you log only the user to connect to the device or the server. There are ways to deceive our router so that we can make what you need, but it is not easy and you are limited to the number of users who can use the connection. I wrote a couple of 'how to' using IPsecuritas for Mac and also shrew VPN. You will not be able to get several subnets with the QVPN customer.

  • RV082 SB + switches with functionality of tag vlan

    Hi guys,.

I have a small laboratory data center at home, with 1 Server iSCSI and VMware ESXi 5.1 3 guests. I run a few linux servers and windows servers.

And a couple of years ago I bought a Cisco SB double RV082 VPN router and a Netgear smart switch in order to have more segmentantion and management on my network and the virtual machines. I was really happy with the Cisco router, because of stability and functionality.

But after a while, I wanted to learn VLANS and vlan tagging and discovered that I wanted to create interfaces for the different VLANs. I installed the firewall open source pfSense, in order to create these VLANS with tagging of the firewall and on switches/esxi hosts. The pfSense has been installed in a virtual machine on one of the hosts vSphere, and which has become a headache if something happened to the host. So I decided to go back to the Cisco SB RV082.

    So here's my question:

Is it possible to still have all these VLANS that I created on the switches and ESXi hosts when I swap to the Cisco router? Even if the Cisco support only port service VLAN, this shouldn't be a problem? Because of the Multiple subnet feature? These VLANs will have access to the Internet and does not have access to another. Only the primary network management network should have access to the VLAN.

Let's say my primary network is 192.168.1.X and I have 5 VLAN with IP 192.168.2.X,... 3.X... 4.X etc. To be able to use these VLANs on all devices, do I need to assign each VLAN on the Cisco to a specific port? Which means I'll have 5 Cisco cables to the switch?

I'll probably have a DC with DHCP and DNS on a few of VLANS I create. If DHCP for the different VLANs will be created like that and won't have the firewall (which RV082 can't stand?)

In my head, this logical text/topic. But I'm not quite sure if you guys understand what I'm saying or want to accomplish here. So please don't not to ask :-)

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Ruben, this router supports the only port VLAN basis. It does not support any tag VLAN (802. 1 (q). This is reflected by in, VLAN does not matter them, only the subnets.

If you need the subnets to communicate through the router, you can activate the functionality of multiple subnet.

If you want to limit disclosure of the host, you can try to establish access rules to limit communication subnet.

  • RV082 and subnets

    Hello

Before that I have to say that I'm french, so, I'm sorry if I make some mistakes of language.

I have just a question about subnets, I wonder if the Cisco RV082 is able to work with 4 subnets (/ 26). In each of these subnets, there are about 20-30 machines sharing files.

I just want to know if I can buy this router for my network configuration.

I enclose my file tracer cisco packet here, I hope that you can help me.

    Thank you.

I know that there is an option for multiple subnets on my rv016 v3 firmware, so I guess it would be for the rv082 as well.  Just be sure that it is a recent firmware.

  • RV042 RV082 tunnel, NAT - T and slow performance

    Hello

    I have a RV042 VPN with an RV082 tunnel.

The RV042 has a public IP address that is obtained by PPPoE, the RV082 has a public IP address

obtained via the static IP address.

The problem I see is a show really slow. Two internet connections are inactive and performance

    is about 2 or 3 kbyte/s

My question is if I need to activate it:

    -Agresive mode

    -NAT Traversal

    -IP Compresion

    -Dead PEAR detection

How can I troubleshoot-done it slow performance?

    Kind regards

    Oliver

Hi Oliver, the first thing I recommend is to do a sur-net test speed and a net speed off test. Sense, using a site speedtest by your ISP, then a speedtest from an external site like speedtest.com. This will give you an idea how your internet behaves for both parties.

The second I would like to do is to try to lower the ciphers of tunnel. For example if your tunnel is des/md5 it should have extremely low overhead and should increase in performance.

Things such as NAT - T would not help, it is a technology to map nat had addresses. Dead, detection (DPD) peer is a mechanism serving the VPN policy after a period of time when the other side is not detected. Aggressive mode can help with little speed, he sends essentially all of the negotiations in a 1 shot instead of several phases.

  • Slow Internet on Mac using RV082

I had problems with the speed of internet connection on my Mac. Initially, I noticed the problem when my mail kept calendar whenever I sent an attachment, I went on various forums, trying to find the solution but nothing has really worked, then I found workarounds for e-mail and lived with her. Recently moved the company that I work offices and I was no longer behind the RV082 and my internet ran better despite the slower connection. Once we have finished the move, I needed to use the Dual Wan Load Balance of th RV082 feature so I put in place in the new office and my internet is slow again. Unfortunately in the new office there are several Macs more than just mine so I really need to make it work. Currently we have 2 separate networks for PC and Mac and I really need to get them on 1. Is there a setting that I can have forgotten or is - is not going to work with Mac. I wonder if it causes a problem with just my router I don't think anythign on this subject online.

It seems to me that you may be running Leopard or higher. One thing to watch is IPv6. To keep things simple, disable IPv6 on your Mac (only one) and see if that makes a difference. With 10.5 and later versions, intensifies the transition to IPv6, inappropriately just devices do not play nice. Also do a little Google search on "How to speed up Firefox on Mac" and you will find a few articles with steps on how to disable IPv6 on the browser.
