RVS4000 and IPv6

I'm having a lot of problems with the Win7 homegroup feature that requires IPv6. I have an access point attached to the 4000 with three laptops connected through this and a wired desktop computer connected directly to the 4000. Residential group seems to be stable when the laptop to join the homegroup. When the office joined things start to become flaky. The usual problem is that not all members of the homegroup can meet and the combinations that can see what a change. I have installed the latest updates, firmware, and drivers. I searched on the Internet many clues and I have some problems of router which suggests, although no mention of the RVS4000. Does anyone have experience with IPv6 and 4000? Does anyone have any experience with Win7 homegroups and 4000? Suggestions to find the problem?

Some good comments on IPv6.

For IPv6 Internet access, you will probably use one of the free tunnel brokers and configure your local router to tunnel and route all traffic to the tunnel provider.

Not something homegroups seeks to ensure.

Homegroups is a local share only service between several PCs.  Domain controllers can join and see / access to other resources, but other PCs not see the domain controller or be able to access shares through residential groups.  At least that is how it is supposed to work.  We do not want the residential groups to break all of our security...

Here are a few links that might help.  The first is a watch the wireless modem is suspect, but Microsoft thinks it's really a firewall or a problem with IPv6.

http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7network/thread/481ff040-56ef-427d-A447-a01847c37d5f

This second link is for when IPv6 is not working properly.

http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7network/thread/0a1a90e5-cba9-41AF-A781-c4cf41244597

Homegroups didn't need anything our router because it uses only link-local addressing.  It requires neither between the router have overall knowledge of IPv6 addressing, no worries and no real reason to activate IPv6.

If you have "Islands" of IPv6 in your separate offices, you can then enable double stack and create a tunnel between the sites.  This does not sound like what you are asking.

Please check these links and let us know!  Greetings and I hope this helps.

  • Caching server and IPv6 support

Anyone know if it is possible to configure the server for caching to work if you are using a dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 network.

When running dua-stack all client devices will prefer IPv6 when it is possible so set cache server service from Apple is to see every customer who logs as coming from a separate network rather than a single network. It doesn't seem to be a way to configure the server caching on OS X Server 5 for an IPv6 subnet, it accepts IPv4 addresses.

Before that I have to submit this as a bug can someone prove me wrong with a workaround to get a double network stack to work with caching server.

I got this job, it was just a matter of editing the configuration file server caching by hand to add the IPv6 range.

The configuration file is located in /Library/Server/Caching/Config/Config.plist

Make sure that the caching server does not work as you change the configuration file.

Open the file in the Terminal for editing and search for the following text:

    < key > PreviousDataPaths < / key >

    < table >

    < string > / library/server/cache/data < / string >

    < / array >

    < key > region < / key >

    < string > 65622637284725D55356E27799AC1535 < / string >

I will use the example of a range of IPv6 for the following subnet, 2001:377:3f:65ec: / 64

Change the configuration file to add the IPv6 range as follows:

    < key > PreviousDataPaths < / key >

    < table >

    < string > / library/server/cache/data < / string >

    < / array >

    < key > PublicRanges < / key >

    < table >

    < dict >

    < key > first < / keys >

    < string > 2001:377:3f:65ec:0:0:0:0 < / string >

    < key > last < / key >

    < string > 2001:377:3f:65ec:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff < / string >

    < / dict >

    < / array >

    < key > region < / key >

    < string > 65622637284725D55356E27799AC1535 < / string >

Now add the TXT DNS record in the zone file located in /Library/Server/named/db.example.com

    _aaplcache._tcp 259200 IN TXT "prs = 2001:377:3f:65ec:0:0:0:0 - 2001:377:3f:65ec:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff.

Now start the update server cache and restart the DNS server if it is running.

  • IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity says no Internet access

My computer says that it has access to the internet but when I use a browser it does not work. Also Ipv4 and Ipv6 connectivity says no internet access, and at the launch of the troubleshooting, it indicates that the DNS server is not responding. So there are a lot of problems.

    Hello

    Internet works with IPv4.

I can't give a targeted response as you have not provided technical information on how you connect to the Internet and devices that are involveved.

    In general.

Check the Device Manager for the entry of valid card of the wire.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a Local Area Connection icon/entry, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

Connect you to the menu of the router from a work computer and make sure DHCP is on, and it is configured to assign IPs which can cover the number of computers that are connected (a bit more will be even better).

Turn off the computer and the router, reset the router and the computer.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

It still does not work, try this too.

    Firewall software.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall Windows Firewall should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly, or uninstall it completely allowing the clean flow of traffic on the local network. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

    Reset the network stacks .

Type Cmd in the search text box.

Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run a command as administrator prompt.  Allow the elevation.

Type netsh winsock reset at the command prompt and press the Enter key.

Do the same process to refresh the TCP/IP, just replace the command typed with.

    netsh int ip reset

    Restart the computer.

  • Cox and ipv6 connectivity

I was told by Cox cable, since decmebre 2015 that the Airport extreme is causing intermittent problems with internet connection when you use the internet service from cox and this is due the iPV6 issue. They are trying to restore service, but have not solved the problem. Does anyone know what it is and how to turn off connectivity iPV6 on my extreme choices of internet options apple will affect my internet experience that is speed and safety, or not at all?

Change the Internet setting for IPv6 on your AirPort Extreme could help maintain your Internet connection, which is more stable, but it will disable also any IPv6 service that may be available on the Cox system.  Security and connection speed are not affected.

Another way to say the same thing, is that your AirPort Extreme will behave the same way he did before Cox began to incorporate recent changes to IPv6 in its system. Before Cox implementation of IPv6 changes, there is no problems with Apple routers.

Apparently, Cox took the decision to implement IPv6 in its system differently than other suppliers, and it is causing issues with Apple routers. I don't know if other brands are affected.

If it is an Apple problem or a problem of Cox is open to question, but it might be interesting to note that users of Comcast and Time Warner are not having these same problems with Apple routers IPv6, while we see many posts from users of Cox almost every day.

I got IPv6 running on a connection to Time Warner here for about six months with zero problems. A friend who has Comcast service reports even.

As far as I know, Apple has all the instructions on it, not is not possible to say at this point that the issue is all about Apple, Apple and part of Cox, or Apple is not actively involved in the problem at all.

  • EA3500 and IPV6

I would like to set up my Ver.1.1.39.145204 EA3500 to use IPV6 just to see if a difference, it was compared to IPv4.

But I have no idea how to set it up.

I am on Windows 7 and my ISP is Comcast.

Under Convectivity, I have the following IPV6 configuration

    Automatic IPv6: enabled

DUID has a set of numbers

    6rd tunnel disabled

    I saved this setting.

I shutdown - unplgged modem - off computer computer and unplug the router.

    Reconncted and restarted.

When I check my my IP address via internet, I'm still seing IPv4.

    Any help would be welcome.

I got your ipconfig output and for your Local network connection, no address IPv6 do show. This means that IPv6 is disabled on your ethernet card.

To enable IPv6 on the Local network connection:

Panel-online network and sharing => change the adapter settings => right click on Local area connection, and then select properties-online check mark IPv6

Then send me an another ipconfig

  • WRT610N and IpV6?

I have the last update of firmware posted the 1.0 model the WRT610N.  Test - ipv6.com is not reassuring, since pure IpV6 sites do not react, but I don't know if it's my router or some other problem.

The WRT610N will work correctly once IpV4 disappeared, or am I intended to buy another router?  Except if forced, I'm perfectly happy with this one.

    Thank you...

The WRT610N does not support IPv6.

But it doesn't matter. IPv4 has not disappeared. And will not disappear. At least for a very long time.

And as long as you don't need a site that is only accessible via IPv6 it won't matter anyway. And even in this case, Windows supports different IPv6 tunnels that allow your computer to use IPv6 even if your router is not.

  • SPA112 and ipv6

How to enable ipv6 in spa112 to accept the definition of fx line with ipv6 and asterisk 1.8?

SPA112 is declared extensible IPv6. But none of these updates are available, as far as I know. You have SPA112 with IPv6 support?

On the other side, why you ask something like that? SPA112 is not suitable for deployment in public IP addresses. For private, closed, LAN, you can use a private IPv4 addressing scheme.

In advance, IPv6 is a brand new feature for Asterisk 1.8. There are a few problems with asterisks. You should consider to avoid IPv6 for production deployment.
