SAMSUNG SSD thin uSATA 128 GB M firmware update

Hello

I have thin Samsung SSD 128 GB MLC, MMCQE28GTMUP-MVAD1, version of the software package VAM05D1Q uSATA. Could you please tell me where I can find the latest firmware for this drive? I searched the Samsung site without success. The drive came with a Latitude XT2. The Dell support pages contain some firmwares but for different models, it seems, despite the fact that I entered my service tag when you look up a downloadable software. I absolutely couldn't find relevant information on this particular model online.

Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, it's not like there are additional or more recent updates.   Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

  • Desktop HP Envy h8 - 1420t CTO: problem Samsung SSD causing with upgrading 8.0 to 8.1 Windows

I can't upgrade my OEM installed Windows 8.0 to 8.1 HP desktop computer.  First, I tried the upgrade when 8.1 was deployed for the first.  It seemed to level OK, but after a reboot I found myself with a black screen... no error message, just a black screen.

I retried it this morning, but this time it failed with DPC_Watchdog_Exception, then Machine_Check_Exception.  After looking in several forums, I'm "guess" it is maybe disk 0, which is a Samsung 830 Series SSD (model: MZ7PC256 / 0:1, s/n: S0U3NSAC705912 p/n: MZ7PC256HAFU - 000: 1) which has been installed and configured by HP, when I ordered this computer from office in 2012.

Magician of Samsung software does not recognize this SDS supported a product, but they identify it as a Samsung MZ7PC256HAFU - 000: 1, with Firmware version CXM05H1Q.  I thought I'd see if a firmware update is available, but there is no information about this SSD on the Samsung support site. In addition, HP doesn't offer not just any which firmware for this SSD, not even the original firmware.  What I saw on the internet says that it is a custom SSD OEM which is not taken in charge by Samsung.

I'm not desperate to upgrade to Win8.1, but I would like to know exactly why the canned upgrade fails.  I have an other available SSD (a Samsung 850 Pro, model: MZ-7KE256BW) that I considered to use to replace the current drive 0, but I hate swapping parts without knowing that this is really the problem.

I am open to advice. The info on my current system follows. Furthermore, I note that there is no conflict of devices or outdate drivers.

    Hello

Don't forget that the W8 is fully updated before upgrading to W8.1. I would suggest to run for a while after the W8.1 update and see if your PC is stable.  If so, then manually a system restore point and then continue the Windows Update process. If your PC is stable after that Windows updates have been applied then manually take another system restore point and proceed to apply the HP recommended software updates for the W8.1 that are posted for your PC.

  • Inspiron 1525 won't recognize Samsung SSD 840

I try to install Windows 7 Home 64 bit to a new 840 Samsung SSD. It has been one problem after another, but I'll try to make the point.

Tried to install DVD that starts very well and then right before the tax EULA says I need a CD/DVD driver (!). How to be with if this is really the case? I can't find any driver for it from the Dell support site so I'm stuck there.

Anyway. A lot of research later. Know that startup and installation of the USB will work around that. It's true! I can accept the EULA and it goes to which I select the hard drive. No hard drive is displayed.

Laptop firmware has been updated to A17. No joy.

I can connect the SSD drive to another computer, and it will go looking for it as internal hard drive so I don't think it's DOA.

I tried updating the firmware on the SSD to see if that would help. Although the 'Magician' utility recognizes and allows me to choose the drive, I get the following message:

"Magician can not communicate with certain Samsung SSD. If please check with other compatible storage drivers and try again. »

    .. so I can't do either.

Is there anything else I need to do to get the Inspiron 1525 to see that SSD?

    Thank you all.

for the ssd to appear, you must get something to fill the void left from the old mechanical drive as it was larger than the ssd

the problem is that you think that it goes in the slot, but in reality that the ssd is not involved it slip just right under the sata port.

You can get support (most new ssd now come with one) and just fix it with the ssd and insert it

  • SAMSUNG SSD shows 40 MB/s... Why?

Hi I have T400, I replaced the main with Samsung SSD mmcqe28gfmup HARD drive. It must be 200 MB/s according to the datasheet.

I use Lenovo official uSATA-SATA adapter.

I read the discussion on Intel chipset limiting SATA 1.5 GB/s... I understand that the actual performance figures must be about 200 Mbit/s with this limitation still.

Why have I not 1/5 of him?

Help, please! He me costed a lot of dough to do it and now is only 5% better than my old HDD!

P.S. I used passmark.com for benchmarking... but still I compared figures for the old HDD which should be accurate, I guess...

I recently installed Samsung SSD 850 pro on my mbp 2012. There is no significant difference in its speed before and after. Application of test of speed magic Black Watch reading and writing speeds both somewhere between 40 - 60 MB/s. If disappointing! • Samsung SSD upgrade problems

When I try to erase the SSD drive and format it for Mac the procedure fails:

I get: dismount disc, cannot write to the last block of the unit, failed...

I have a MBP end 2011 with El Captan freshly installed and the SSD is Samsung 850 Pro 512 GB.

I've seen a number of problems with the Samsung SSD on these forums.  My best advice is to contact the technical support of Samsung.  Unfortunately, some users responded that the support of Samsung was not very friendly.

My guess is that you may have a faulty SSD and try to return it if possible.

  • Slow down the Evo 850 Samsung SSD

Recently, I had a new SSD Samsung 850 EVO and installed on my macbook pro 2009. Using OSX El Capitan.

But the reading and writing speeds I get are:

    Address: 209 MB/s

    Read: 264 MB/s

and I should get about 450 MB for read and write at least. I went through to change the start-up as well as trimming startup disk, but did not help much.

No idea how I can fix this problem? Thank you.

Mbps 2009 have SATA2 connectivity.  You will not be able to experience the full capacity of the Samsung SSD.  You would need a MBP 2011 or newer to realize the full potential of this SSD. (This is when SATA3 connectivity was introduced).

    Ciao.

What should I do to get past this error? I have to start this process all in safe mode?

You must run the update of the firmware in safe mode. (Even if the system is loading press F8 and use mode safe mode with LAN). But there is a problem after update the firmaware.
If you use TOSHIBA Storage Utilities v3.10 there is a possibility that your system crashes (you should first uninstall it).

There is no possibility of connection to Windows after restart. I did an experiment and after formatting SSD, I installed a new copy of Windows 7 Pro SP1. The result was the same, it worked until the installation of the utilities of storage TOSHIBA v3.10.

There is clearly a software problem, but I have not found another solution (do not to install the utilities of storage TOSHIBA v3.10)

  • SAMSUNG SSD 850 helps Pro

    Hello

I recently bought and installed the Samsung SSD 256 GB 850 Pro in my mid-2012 13 "MacBook Pro.  Everything seems to work very well; However, when I run the speed test of black magic, I get only between 30-100 read and write speed of 100-250.

The way I installed it was:

    -Deletion of original HD

    -SSD installed

    -Connected via sata/usb HD

-Started and press command and R

-Utility disk-> Erase--> Mac OS Extended journaled

    -Reinstalled Mac OS X

    -Migration wizard

I am fully able to use my computer as before but I thought I'd get up to 500 MB/s for each.

Is there something I can do to get the maximum speed where they should be?

    Thank you

    Hi Vanderveenc:

You have activated TRIM? You run El Capitan and supports the TRIM.

    Gasket performance aid.

Read the following article. n-SSDS-explained-an-SSD-primer/ http://www.thessdreview.com/Daily-News/latest-Buzz/garbage-collection-and-Trim-i

It is also very important to have 10% of your free SSD for the garbage collection.

To activate the TRIM, first save all your open documents as this will restart your Mac.

    (1) launch the Terminal.

    (2) type 'sudo trimforce enable '.

    (3) confirm that you want to activate the trim.

    (4) restart your Mac.

To check the TRIM is enabled, click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen. Choose "about this Mac"-> 'System report'-> ' SATA/SATA Express' and look for the entry 'Support of Trim. It should say 'yes' if the pad has been activated.

  • SAMSUNG SSD on El Capitan crash / boot problems

Hello all, about two weeks ago, I installed a Samsung SSD in my Macbook Pro mid-2012. Installed fine with El Capitan, but when using the laptop, I have questions where it will freeze and not respond to excessive amounts of time. In this case, I have to restart; However, when the system restarts does not load (sometimes indicating a panic of the core/kext). I then reset PRAM / MSC or head of disk utility, after tampering that I can possibly restart. I thought that the DSS could have been faulty so I went through another new, but the same thing happens. I also noticed that my laptop has also issues freezing when my laptop is moved around, IE picked up and moved from one office to another. Ive used disk Sensei, terminal, and Trim Enabler to allow cutting. Also of note (not sure if this is relevant) but I changed my cable from HARD drive about 2 months ago because my regular HD had problems. If I reinstall my HD comes with the macbook, there's no problem at all. Please help me. This is terribly frustrating.

I recently installed an EVO to Samsung SSD in a 2012 MacBook Pro. So far so good. But on two swaps the previous car, the MacBook Pro 2010, we found that the cable from the hard drive has failed and had to be replaced. The symptoms were almost exactly as you describe. The 2012 has a slightly different cable until 2010, but he runs the same twists and turns, folded in particular the DVD player to the hard drive. It was suggested that I read to put some insulating tape under the cable where it folds on the DVD player.

I know you said you've already replaced the cable, but I wonder if somehow it always is not interface properly with the reader. It is strange that the old drive works OK. Some slight difference in how the pins connect to the drive?

As you know, replacing the cable is not difficult if you are already familiar with the disk replacement. I ordered a cable 2012 when I did the swap, just in case, but have so far not needed it (put the tape in place, however). I found it on Amazon for $19: article #B00KR5QIEU

'NEW disc hard Drvie 821-1480-a cable for Macbook Pro 13 Unibody' A1278 2012 "

Check that it's good for your Mac before ordering if you decide to try a new cable again.

Also make sure that you have transferred screws on the sides from one disk to the other so that it's safe in the case of the computer. (Obvious, I know, but it's easy to Miss).

    Good luck.

  • ZBook 15u G2: is it possible to upgrade the G2 Zbook 15u from the 500 GB Samsung SSD 850 evo 500 GB SATA HARD disk?

Turns out that the hard drive that I got this laptop when I bought it is not really meet my needs, and I'm looking to upgrade. I looked around, and the EVO of 850 SSD Samsung 500 GB seems a good choice for what I'm looking for.

I just wanted to check if my cell phone is compatible with this ssd. My initial assumption is 'yes' but before I drop money I wanted to confirm this. For reference, I went to the start with the 500 GB SATA hard drive, and I'm looking to upgrade the 500 GB Samsung ssd 850 evo.

I can provide the SN of my laptop for reference, if needed.

    Hello

The simple answer is Yes you can. You can use a standard SSD 2.5 "to replace the current HARD drive. And the Samsung is a good choice.

    Kind regards.

  • Impossible to get Samsung SSD EVO to work on the Satellite L50-A0424

I tried these last days to set up an EVO Samsung 500 GB SDD on my laptop, a Toshiba L50-A0424 and I can only call an exercise in frustration. First of all, the Samsung comes packed with a SATA cable USB cloning of the original hard drive is a pain. After cloning, the next problem is the Toshiba to accept DSS. Make me 2 errors: if I change the boot mode in the UEFI I get an error "check media prescence.

If I change to the CSM, I get a PXE - MOF - exit Intel PXE ROM. am using the latest version of the BIOS, ver 1.9. It is; s been proposals to downgrade the BIOS to ver 1.2 but when even did not do this. Any ideas on what I can do? Feeling puzzled and irritated and really regret my decision to buy a Toshiba

Sorry, but I must ask you this question: is recognized by the BIOS of SSD?
Have you tried to install original recovery image on it?

I ask this question because I use Samsung SSD on my laptop older satellite and it works without any problem.

  • Advice on moving 1.5 to SATA 2 HARD drive and put the Samsung SSD on SATA 1...

My plan is to make a DVD of W10 MS

    Power off

    Unplug 1.5 to boot/storage HDD SATA 1

    Connect Samsung SSD SATA 1

Turning and fresh install MS W10 on SSD and let it update

Then, can I plug 1.5 to SATA 2 HARD drive and make it just my storage via disk management?

What steps/tips to make this an easy transition?

    Paul

It should not matter if you use SATA1 or SATA2, but there are always exceptions.

I got a motherboard with two different SATA [Intel & Marvel] controllers with different speeds. It is unusual, so the safest bet is to use the same SATA connector for your new SSD that you used for your old HDD.

Since you have two bootable disks, you may need to go into EUFI/BIOS and set your boot order to boot from the new SSD first.

You should be able to access the files on the old drive without problems, but I've seen on occasion where you will get an "Access denied" error due to 'permissions' problems, especially if the original/OS disk has been protected by a password. If you have any questions, you can create a linux live boot disk "to access your files.

Instead keep you the old drive as is, with an operating system and boot volumes on it, you must backup/move your important files to your new SSD then remove all volumes on the old disk, create a volume, and then format to use as a data/backup drive.
