Hello. I am totally non-technical, assume it please I need to hold the total hand. Thank you!  My flag has a problem reading of mp3 files, where he stutters, crashes, offsets and buzzing during each song, and especially when almost anything else that is happening, as typing this note or even play Solitaire. It has been happening with both mp3s and streaming internet videos/songs since I got the machine 2 years ago, but became much worse.

It becomes worse when doing things online, but the Task Manager shows the CPU usage is rarely above 30% and the use of the RAM about 60% (I have 6 GB).  My hard drive is 640 GB, with close to 500 GB still free. I did analysis, defragmentation and junk file clean up disk and registry (Avast Pro w / Grimefighter) does not. I tried several players, but all have the same problem. • go esxi hosts and virtual machines in one vCenter to another

I built a new vCenter (Windows vCenter), I intend to move on ESXi hosts the old vCenter (Virtual appliance vCenter) to the new vCenter. I don't know if it's feasible, please notify my step is correct or not: 1) build a new vcenter 2) create a cluster with two esxi hosts first 3) Mount data (NetApp Filer Storage) to the new vCenter warehouses 4) add an empty host for the new vCenter VMs) 5 download then upload to the host in new vcenter

    Hi friend

    Its doable without any problem.

    Please follow the procedure below.

1 build a new vCenter (your first step is correct)

2 creating a cluster (because it is new vCenter there will not be any available host.) That is why cluster creation wizard will not get to add in the new cluster host). While initially empty cluster would be created.

    3. once the cluster is created, immediately do a right-click on the cluster and add your hosts one by one. Not necessary to cancel the registration and the VM. Virtual machines will automatically be added who were there on the data store available with all guests.

    Don't forget,

    1. we do not mount any store data in vCenter, we assemble the data store on the host.

    2. If you mount the new data store (which did not exist before), you can mount once the new hosts are added to the new cluster. (Your SAN admin help)

    3. If you want to move your virtual machines from data store before the newly added/mounted data store, please SVMotion these virtual machines (by right-clicking on the VM > migrate > data store > select the data store that is new)... Please follow the same procedure for all virtual machines.

    4. you don't need to add empty hosts to the new cluster, add just as soon as all guests without you register VMs. Later, you can migrate to other store of data according to the requirement. NO need to download or download the VM.

    5. Please make sure that your ESXi hosts will be compatible with the new vCenter. Old version of ESXi always compatible with the new version of vCenter. Just check if you have all valid licenses.

Please let me know if you need any clarification

Ideas: gta san andreas does not open with windows 7! How to silve this if you please help me

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Review the information from the Windows 7 Compatibility Center.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?l=en-us&type=software&s=Grand%20theft%20auto

He says that version 2 is not compatible.

If Aero is the problem, disable it before installing the game and then turn back on.
I would say as you right-click on Setup and select "Run as Administrator".

    I hope this helps.

  • Helps the FS7610 PS Series SAN, 10Gb network design

Hi, we have currently a square of infrastructure EqualLogic SAN and NAS (2 x PS6510E, FS7500), a stack of two PC8024F 10 GB switches, 2 envelopes chassis m1000e blade with the A1 being a set of switches 1 GB m6220 fabric (fabric A2 a battery of the same thing), the tissue being a pile of m8024k B1 10 GB passes, (fabric B2 a battery of the same thing) and a stack of PC6224 two 1 GB (top of the grid GigE) switches.

We all have this connected to the 10 GB being its own private network 10.1.0.x SAN network and vlan, nice and isolated from all the rest.  The blades can access the iSCSI shares via their network cards of 10 GB which is all on this network 10.1.0.x.  The NIC 1 GB on the blades are on a public network, and the FS7500 of the customer ports are on this network too via the 6224, so NFS connections are established via the public network to 1 GB.

We intend to invest in an additional PS Series array to the host to a backup site, for replication.  At the same time, we plan to buy a FS7610 to our main site to take advantage of our 10 GB infrastructure and move the FS7500 existing to our backup site, so we can replicate iSCSI and NAS container volumes.

That's where we could use some help, because now many things have changed.  Now, the SAN must be on the public network for replication to succeed, AND to take advantage of the connectivity of 10 GB and sharing NFS mount of the FS7610 through 10 Gbit, we need to use network cards 10 Gbit and switches in the network of the client NAS, that are already used for iSCSI traffic (and will in the future be used for connections to SAN vmware hypervisor).  In the FS7610 install and set up the guide, it says

    • Use the switches for network client and for the internal network and the SAN.
    • Use separate subnets for network client and for the internal network and the SAN.

We can move the SAN and it is a dedicated subnet network and VLAN that is on the public network without problem, but my main concern is to be able to satisfy the recommendations/network configurations required for the FS7610 and avoid the local SAN/NAS traffic through a router to ensure connections of 10 GB.  Advice or tips are appreciated!

It is the same thing that you are dealing with Linux, but TCP/IP standard routing.   You cannot route private subnets directly on the internet.  We need to create a "Wan".   Do not directly routed on the internet.

Your WAN will create a private network and a tunnel over the Internet.   OpenVPN is a possible solution.

A very widespread scenario might be:

Once you have put WAN in place, on the internet of these routers would be a true internet address (e.g., 62.x.x.x.x) so the two WAN devices can communicate with each other.   They create a VPN tunnel with a new subnet, say 10.3.0.x.

The WAN router primary side would have a leg on the subnet 10.1.0.x, say with 10.1.0.10 IP address as your default route on the side of EQL SAN 10.1.0.10.

On the side of the DR this router would have a leg on the 10.2.0.x subnet, say 10.2.0.10.  The default GW on the side DR would be 10.2.0.10.   The router knows how to move packets between networks using the standard range.

Looks like all you're missing is the "WAN" VPN tunnel between sites.  You want something that will encrypt traffic between the sites anyway.

    Who help me?

    Kind regards

First, look at the status of logic on the side of SAN unit number.

    The windows machine

    1. make sure that you can see WWPN in the HBA bios.

    2. starting at OS level check LUN status using above commands so Multipathing s/w is installed, Else look for hard drives in the Device Manager (it must be something lik DISK IBM)

3 simple reboot may go up Mon

  • MOVE VM IMAGES FROM HDD to SAN ESXI - Please HELP!

    Hello

I don't know if this is possible, but if possible I'd really be very happy for any help that anyone can provide. I have an ESXi server where there was a picture of Microsoft Exchange VM on. Currently, the image is too large to stay on the ESXi server and we bought a SAN. I can not figure out how to move this image from the disk HARD original to the SAN. The SAN is saved in the ESXi and he sees it as an additional HARD disk space. How can I move the image to that storage?

    Thank you!!!

    James

You may download a trial version of VC - it will work for the days 30 (or 60).

The other option is to use the browser of data store and copy all the files (of your vm directory) to the new directory created on your new san vmfs volume.

VMware Converter could do it too.

Is that what you have already created a new vmfs volume on your San?

  • invalid argument on disks after crash san vmdk... need help urgent

    Hello

Last night we had an accident SAN because of a power failure. all the vm does not start after this crash.

We receive the error: Invalid Argument

also, when I want to delete the pagefile for the most important machine:

RM: cannot remove 'SBS2008 - 84765360.vswp': invalid argument

It seems that all of the swap and flat files are locked... I already tried:

    -Restart all esx hosts

-restart services / services to stop when you try to delete the swap file

-J' tried to re-create the vmdk file and include the flat file again, no luck

-move the action to another logical unit number gives me the same error. It does not move

-copy of the scp of the machine action will not work, cannot access the file.

-the flat vmdk file renaming works, but I still can't access the file

    -vmware migrate action even error.

I really need this virtual machine to work, please help

Ok.  Here's what I would do: (it worked for me on ESX 3.5 U2)

    • Unregister the virtual machine in the LUN of your ESX 3.5

    • Present the LUN for a version of the host ESX 3.0.2

    • Save a VM from ESX 3.0.2 host

    • Turn on the virtual machine under ESX 3.0.2 and select keep to keep the same UUID

    • Wait for the virtual machine is fully started, stop the virtual machine peacefully

    • Unregister the virtual of ESX 3.0.2 machine

    • Register the virtual machine on ESX 3.5

    • Turn on the virtual machine

    • America Bess God and God bless you too!

I would like to know if it works.

  • Need help to attach a SAN volume 10TB

I have a SAN Equallogic PS4000e network. When I had a physical Server 2008 I was able to fix a volume 6 to on the server and I saw all the 6 TB using the iscsi Initiator in Server 2008. I now have a Virtual Server 2008 and I need to reach a volume of 10 to and see everything to the virtual server. I can add 2 TB using the VMFS 5 but not greater than. I have the config network for ISCSI VMware Setup. I'm not a fan of spanning multiple disks etc. and prefers it appeared to the virtual machine as a single unit.

I use RDM for the largest 2 TB disks?

    Thank you

Yes, currently only RDM in physical (pass-through) mode in charge most of ~ 2 TB (up to 64 ~ to).

  • Need help in the choice of VMware DR SAN technology

    Hi all
I look at which one is the better choice for DR environment?
between SAN based technology replication or 3rd party application (Veeam Backup and replication, or VMware Site Recovery Manager).
my situation is that I have running for most VMware ESX virtual environment as follows:
    1. production environment that is mixed HP DL 380 and the server blades with EMC Clariion CX4 - 500 FC - SAN
    2. planning for DR environment that uses the same model of server, but still think that SAN technology that we could use for replication between two sites. The recovery site is not necessarily to be as fast as the current production and the SAN cannot be EMC
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

you will need almost the same model in order to achieve the SAN replication by using the built-in function of SAN storage. If this is not possible, you may be able to virtualize the SAN, so that both are of the same type. One way is using HP Lefthand VSA or Falconstore.

  • Help: update/fixes Essentials, no SAN no host Update Util

As very probably know VMware in their infinite wisdom have discontinued support and development of Host Update Utility in v4.1.  I currently manage an Essentials environment with DAS only (without SAN), and VCenter installed as a virtual machine on a host.  In the past, I have always used the Util to update host patch and update of my hosts.  Instead of this change, it seems that the only options are manually fixes using vihostupdate or install or use Update Manager.  The latter is useless for us since we do not have a HOLY and cannot update the host who would be Manager update as a virtual machine (no both VMotion etc).  In the past, I would just run host Util update, do check it out for the latest patches of VMware, and then run the patch install - he took care to locate the patches and apply them in the correct order.  What is the best game plan now that this util is gone?  Where can you easily check the patch repository, download the correct patches and apply them in the correct order?  Maybe I missed something, but would appreciate anyone entry on the correction of strategies in this scenario.

Yes, you can apply all the patches together and atlast you can go to restart ESXi

  • Design of SAN storage for environment training Lab Manager help

I plan to use Lab Manager for a training environment and could use a small entrance.

    The environment will consist of:

    -8 (each with72GB + RAM) ESX host
-30 users simultaneously connected, each accessing a configuration that will contain about 10 virtual machines, which means that it will be up to 300 mV.

-60 to SAN contaiming a total of 36 records

My question is this: How can I skin the SAN?  I must:

    (A) creating 10 LUNS for each of the 10 basic VM disks, and then create LUN 30 so each of the deployment 30 has a LUN, separated from its delta configuration?

    (B) creating 10 LUNS for each of the 10 discs based VM, and the deltas of 30 correspondents for each basic disk stored in the same unit logic as the basic disk number?

    (C) create LUNS may be 2 or 5 for VM 10 and 10 MON deltas for basic disks?

    (D) none of the above (Please give me an idea

It's everything you need to know:

  • HELP - SAN choice: EqualLogic vs EMC vs. NetApp

We are a small shop with storage needs!  We head to virtualize 40 servers using Vsphere and must choose the storage room.  We have reduced up to three models and final score:

    1 NetApp - FAS2050

    2 EMC - CX4-120 Clarrion

    3 EqualLogic - PS5000

The price is similar 3 w / all sellers and not a cause for concern.  However, the capabilities of ease of use and DR\replication are our main concern.  All advice\suggestions\experiences good and bad (especially from anyone running one of these models) are welcome to help us to make our final decision.

    -appreciated... bj

In the same vein that do not leave the CF guys swing you, don't let the seller "How it is easy to configure Look" you swing. At the end of the day, you should not use the management interface of all that often. I'd rather spend 2 hours to set up a solid rock for 30 minutes and having to use the al of the time management interface.

  • request help to validate the SAN/network configuration

Hello, I am a new Member of the Forum, but I have worked with ESX for awhile and I do as much reading/study that I can.

I'll put up a new SAN HP MSA 2012i and 2 guests VMware Enterprise to use the San.

SAN block size is 64, and I know configure vmdk in VC/VIC, which should make the VMs' offset 64 and therefore correctly align the VMs. 99% Windows Server VM.

Our SAN has 2 controllers and disks configured as 1 vdisk that will be divided into multiple LUNS.

    management by controller 1 port

2 ports for iSCSI on each controller.

All are assigned static IP to the bosom of our subnet 172.16.0.xxx so they can all talk to the HP Procurve 2824 switch and therefore the hosts to be may eventually connect to the iSCSI LUN.

    My questions:

1 should I configure VLAN on the switch of the management controller ports Ethernet iSCSI SAN?

2 within the ESX, for his vSwitches, for the Service Console and vKernel, I use different subnets? (for example 172.16.1.xxx for the Service Console and 172.16.2.xxxx to vKernel, etc..) ??

Or I have to put the vSwitches in the same subnet 172.16.0.xxx?

    3. I know that I create the LUN in the MSA web console and then I point Virtual Center and hosts see LUNS. Can someone refer me to anything that can explain this in more detail?

    Thank you!!

As they say fast, good and cheap, pick two. It's just a fact of the business. We often work with the material we have and do the best we can.

    Go with 3 VLAN

1 for the management of virtual machines and any other non-virtuelle 172.16.0.0/24. Use 2 of your network adapters ESX hosts so that it has resume function.

    2 storage VLAN 1 172.16.1.0/24 1 Teddy

    3 storage VLAN 2 172.16.2.0/24 1 Teddy

This configuration enables redundancy for storage and networks VM/SC, with the hardware you already have.

You can still develop the latter if you get the funds.
