Sansa Clip + 8 GB not recognized on my PC

I have windows 7 Home premium, SP1

Used to have no problem to access the MP3 player.

Now, I can only see the files in windows Explorer.  Whenever I try to copy the Clip, I get an error message:

A device attached to the system is not functioning

~ or ~.

The unit has stopped responding or has been disconnected.  This device supports audio files, it does not support. MP3 files...

The second message is ridiculous since the Clip is loaded with MP3s.  Generic message...

I tried to swith USB modes auto detect MTP and MSC, no luck.  I've removed the device and had windows to reinstall the drivers.  I downloaded the update from sansa and it says that it updated the firmware to V01.02.18A.

I have run out of ideas to try and unfortunately, patience.  Any suggestions?

Crazy... tried another USB port and no problems (USB mode was DPW).

Whatever it is, I was able to load more songs, so I'm good.  Do not forget to use the slot #2

  • Help! My Sansa Clip + is no longer recognized by my PC when connected by USB port!

Reading, the latter time, ' said, 'written' only when connected. Normally, he alternates between the 'Reading' and 'Writing' when it is connected to the PC and, therefore, it USED TO BE recognized by the PC in these conditions. The device is not recognized in Windows Explorer as a device or disk as usual. I use Windows 7. The device is not recognized by Windows Media Player synchronization purposes: I can't synchronize playlists of music more.

You try to reset by pressing the power button / stop 20 seconds does not help.

Using different USB ports does NOT help.

The cable using different USB does not help.

    Another computer has NOT appeared.

Kyle Ahmed: Please tell me the exact model, color, and the ability of your Sansa player?
Jonathan Bailey: black, Sansa Clip +.
Kyle Ahmed: Please provide me with the ability as well?
    Jonathan Bailey: I think it's a 4 GB
Kyle Ahmed: Please tell me when and where did you buy this drive?
Jonathan Bailey: Citrus Heights, CA, Jan 2012 target

Jonathan Bailey: No, it is not when connected by USB.
Kyle Ahmed: Please tell me, are you using Windows 7?
    Jonathan Bailey: Windows 7
Kyle Ahmed: I understand. Please connect the player to the computer.
Jonathan Bailey: It should say READING and WRITING.
Kyle Ahmed: very well. If you please, right click on computer and select manage.
Kyle Ahmed: Click Device Manager in the left pane.
Kyle Ahmed: Sansa player will be displayed in the right-hand of Device Manager: 1. USB mass storage device
(if the player has MSC) 2. portable (if the player is set to MTP mode)
Jonathan Bailey: he is profiled as a Portable device Sansa Clip + 4 GB
Jonathan Bailey: a yellow exclamation point icon

Kyle Ahmed: This allows the computer to recognize the drive as a removable storage as well
You should see it in the devices with removable storage section in the computer.
Jonathan Bailey: it says CONNECTED then he says SAN Disk alternately
Kyle Ahmed: Check if the drive is recognized by the computer.
Jonathan Bailey: there is now a SANSA CLIPP (F): in my Windows Explorer navigation pane
Kyle Ahmed: It seems that pilots of the PSG of your computer went corrupt due to which your
Player is recognized not earlier. In this case, what you have to do is to reinstall Windows Media Player or
change the USB mode of the player to MSC permanently solve the problem. But the MSC mode will not allow you
by creating playlists with Windows Media player to transfer songs from your player.
Jonathan Bailey: Windows Media Player Sync now recognizes "SANSA CLIPP"
Jonathan Bailey: I need Windows Media Player synchronization capability or the Sansa is not good for me.
Kyle Ahmed: Jonathan, please check if the player is displayed under the Portable devices or with
Removable storage in the computer (Explorer)?

Jonathan Bailey: it is recognized in Explorer
Kyle Ahmed: Please disconnect the player from the computer.

Jonathan Bailey: ok, it says REFRESHING YOUR MEDIA

Kyle Ahmed: Go to settings > system settings > Info.
Kyle Ahmed: Give Me the version of the firmware of the drive please.
Jonathan Bailey: Version V01.02.16A, isn't it?
Kyle Ahmed: It seems that the version is up-to-date.
Kyle Ahmed: The reason why it took more time to update the media earlier must be because of the large amount
songs that have been transferred, which can take the time to read.
Jonathan Bailey: OK, for 2 500 songs, it usually takes about 15-20 minutes
    Kyle Ahmed: I understand.
Kyle Ahmed: You have faced a temporary problem that was solved by resetting the player and refreshing the drivers of your computer.
Kyle Ahmed: You should not face additional problems.

  • Need HELP! My Sansa Clip + is no longer recognized by my PC!

In fact, when I connect my Sansa Clip + to my PC via USB, it will recognize in 'My Computer' for a fraction of a second & then it will disappear! The disc for my Sansa will be apear for 2-5 seconds & then bam, gone.

Sometimes the Sansa Clip + will reappear again at my drive after leaving connected, but even once, it will appear only for a fraction of a second & disapear as he was immediately disconnected.

After that my Sansa Clip + is going to just play the music as it was not yet connected to my PC with the USB cable. I don't think it's the same in charge when connected.

I have an another spare Sansa Clip + & when I connect it to my PC with the USB cable even & the same USB port, it is perfectly recognised! No problem with that!

My Sansa Clip dies or the USB connector on the end let go & not able to login properly?
What I have to buy a new, or is it repairable?

Have you tried to exchange the cables? Sounds like the cable you use (which connects intermittently or fresh) may have a loose wire or PIN.

  • Sansa Clip - computer does not recognize the music file

I have a Sansa Clip 8 GB. It works OK. It connects to my PC (Windows 7) and fees. But when I open the music from the PC folder there is nothing in it. There is the music of the clip and he is playing. But nothing in the folder on my PC. The clip has the firmware version: v02.01.35A. His car is up to date. Any ideas?

Try changing the drive USB MSC mode by going to settings > system settings > USB. If you still don't see the files, try MTP mode. Files transferred in a mode are invisible to your PC when it is connected to the other mode (files transferred in both modes are still visible by the player himself, that's why they play even if the PC cannot find them). The third mode, "Automatic Detection", should be avoided because it can change between the MTP and MSC between sessions without warning, according to the whims of Windows.

  • Problem Sansa clip + Rockbox: does not

Hi guys, I hope you can help me, I have a big problem I'm not English, so I hope to be understandable.

I have connected my rockboxed clip + to my pc (windows xp) in mode MSC, take the scrobblerlog.txt file and change the music. Done, I have disconnected with the secure delete option and it is not updated in database or turn off, this isn't anything. He continues to appear connected, even if it is not, the screen is the same when it is connected to (the image of pc-device ' connected'). I tried to plug and unplug the unit, tried to push the reset button, but it's completely frozen, State of the connection. What happened, and what can I do to fix this? Please, help me...

Then it crashed somewhere in the Sandisk firmware?  If you just power for 30 seconds, it must restart.

  • Sansa clip zip does not

I just got this camera and I can't turn it on.

the display shows "file not found" and shows "USB Plug cable.

or is this a display of rockbox and a file not found message.

I tried to hold the switch of power for 20 seconds, but it does not work.

    Help, please

With the power off, hold down the left button and then plug in USB. Do not release the button until it starts. Once you have a working USB, updated the firmware from sandisk. That will restore the firmware to normal.

  • I'm having a problem strange sync my 4 GB Sansa Clip + with Winamp

    Sansa Clip + 4 GB

    MTP mode

    MicroSDHC 32GB

Windows 7 64 - bit Winamp (no additional plugins)

I recently bought a new 4 GB Sansa Clip + with a 32 GB MicroSD card. Using Winamp, I synced my library on the SD card. Everything went as not expected, no problems to report, I could play all the songs perfectly.

But now, whenever I try to sync the SD card in the player, Winamp does not appear to recognize the files he had previously synced. A window tells me that there are X number of songs on the Sansa Clip + who are not in the library and encourage me to remove them, let them, or cancel. (photo of the box below)

Basically, Winamp tells me again and again to remove and re - sync a load of songs that are already on the player, which is extremely long and tedious, when all I want is to synchronize an album or two. This happens even if I plug the appliance, let it cool off, and then plug it back to synchronize again.

If anyone has had this same problem and would be willing to share the solution, me a huge favor. Thank you.

Nevermind, I figured it. It turns out that the solution was to set the USB MSC instead of MTP mode. Who would have thought?

    Thanks for any help.

  • Sansa Clip + does not start or is not recognized by my computer.

I listened for the Sansa Clip + to work for about two hours after charging the battery. It stops all of a sudden. It will not turn on, nor is it recognized by my computer. I tried a soft reset by holding the power button and I still get nothing. I tried to connect to different computers and different USB ports on each computer. I can also load with another cord which is not read.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Have you tried holding down the power button (some say 30 seconds, but I don't think he'd be as long) and then releasing and clicking it normally? This is what worked for me both times as my Clip + died spontaneously.

  • Sansa Clip not recognized by computer - new problem

All of a sudden my Sansa Clip is not recognized by my computer. I use MSC forced for a year and have seen the page referred by others with this problem. Nothing seems to work. Download the new firmware will it correct even if the device is not recognized? How the new firmware can be installed on the device?

At present the Clip plays already charged music, but I can add more.

    Suggestions? Thank you.

    JEMcQ wrote:
OK - I'm a model. I used a charging cable not provided by Sansa. This is why the computer was not recognizing the Clip. However, is there a way to NOT use forced MSC to connect? I use it since I updated the firmware to the last spring and my thumb is painful.

Your firmware has USB mode in the settings? If so, switch to MSC there... problem solved!

  • SANDISK Sansa Clip Zip not recognized by WIN 8

My SANDISK Sansa Clip Zip MP3 player is not recognized by my WIN 8 machine when I connect it via USB.  It works fine on my other machine WIN 8.  Technical support SANDISK told me that the MTP drivers are missing or corrupted.  How do I find, download and install these drivers from the Microsoft site?  Is it also possible to copy these out of the installation of WIN 8 disk I have?

OK, so I found that this worked for me on win. 8

1st: hit 'Windows key' 'X', then click on Device Manager.

2nd: once it go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, find "USB Mass Storage Device".

3rd: hit search and edit the material (something like that)

4th: there are 2 categories, the first to find the driver automatically, and the second looking for your pc.

5th: click on the first then wait it should work and then it will say that it is recognized and you can sync your Media Player!

I hope this has helped! :)

  • Sansa Clip + not recognized by the Audi music interface

    Hello

I'm trying to connect my Sansa Clip to my music interface of cars (Audi A4, model 2010). My Sansa Clip says that he has plugged in and the battery starts to load, but my music interface of cars does not recognize the mp3 device. Anyone have any idea what can be the problem?

The Audi music interface manual says that there is a limitation in mp3 with "USB Device subclass 1, 2 and 6'.» What may be the problem, that "subclass" Sansa Clip + have they?

    / Olle

Thanks for your reply and your quick response!  Your answer solved my initial problem. Now the music interface of the car recognize my Sansa Clip, but now the problem is that it cannot find the files that can be read. I noticed the same 'phenomena' trying to find music via my computer files, when having put MSC is not possible to see all the files. I have .wma and .mp3 files both on the Sansa Clip.

Is there a way to solve this problem as well?

Your computer cannot see or access the files that have been transferred to MTP mode when you are connected to the MSC and vice versa. It may be a similar situation with the stereo system in your care. You may need to remove all the files (build formattiing be the fastest way to do) and re - transfer to your player in MSC mode.

  • Sansa 8 GB Clip not recognized in my computer...

OK so I just got this thing today and I plugged it to my computer to recharge before I did something to it. About 6 hours later I checked it and it was not fully charged, but I decided to check a few things anyway. I clicked on "My Computer" and it was not recognized here. So I tried all my usb ports and it was a no go too. Then I had my husband try it with his computer and he was not recognized in 'My Computer' but it is recognized in Device Manager. So what don't understand me? I have read the booklet that accompanies the thing and he said nothing to have need of software and everything I had with him, it was a disc (sp?) mini Rhapsody free trial. If someone please help the dummy! All I want to do is music to listen to while I clean up the House and something to choke the complaint of the people I work with!

    I thank in advance, BTW!

OK, so I found the problem. I just need to upgrade my wmp to the correct version. I was always using v.9 Anyway sorry to bother someone.

Can you connect USB MSC mode?  (On the Clip, under settings (press the small button at home and then click down), go to USB mode and select MSC.)

  • My Sansa Clip does not work

I use my Sansa Clip when I work at the YMCA. I used it last night and it worked fine then. This morning when I went to the O, it didn't work at all. Once I got home, I plugged into my computer. It still does not work. Why it does not work and I can fix it?

    How about a magic Sansa?

Slide the switch to position IT and hold it there for 10-15 seconds.  If you have sensitive headphones, you can hear a "click" soft as the device resets.  It is the function of soft reset .  Your Clip should restart normally after the reset.  Try to turn it on as usual.
