Sansa Fuze "Refreshing Your Media" frozen upward!

My Sansa Fuze 4 GB is about 10 days and since yesterday the your media 'refreshing' message is fixed around 10% and no function can be accssed.

I've already disabled the "rocket" and connected with the PC to delete each file that I put on it. Same problem... the bar refreshing is cold still about 10%.

What I have to return my drive, or are there other tricks to make it work again.

N ° formatting will only erase the content that you put on it. The firmware and the functioning of the files are safe.

Hi, I just got this yesterday and have had a lot of trouble with it, the software does not install correctly, the device is not recognized. It get stuck on the scene "refreshing your media" - I made a couple of soft resets. but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help with this?

How long took you? It may only appear to be frozen (the progress bar isn't really evolve for as long as it takes to finish properly). What may cause it to take a long time: a large number of files and/or folders, files corrupted and botched the ID3 tags.

More on tags: when he says "refreshing your media", she does really built a database of all the information contained in the tags (title, artist, album, track number, etc.). The player can choke on messy tags, especially very long comments. For some reason, some people try to put the history of the artist (or some other ridiculously verbose nonsense) in the "Comment" tag The best thing to do is to use a program like MP3Tag (highly recommended and FREE) to clean up tags, deleting the comments and stripping other tags to only the essentials. Any tag editor you use, change the settings to save tags to ID3 v2.3 ISO 8859-1 format, if possible. This format is more compatible with Sansas.

If your labels are clean and it still freezes, you probably have a corrupt file. To make it easier to isolate the problem, or the files, format the drive (settings > Control Panel menu) and start reloading your files in smaller batches until it crashes again.

  • Clip + hangs on "refreshing your media" once the files have been added

Hello. Today I bought a Sansa Clip + mp3 player. Its internal memory is 4 GB, so I bought a 32 GB microSD card.

I put the microSD card and connected the device to the computer. I then transfer a lot of files, mp3, some flac, as I read the Player supports this format.

By looking at the output during the transfer, I also saw that some JPG files have been transferred. I guess this isn't a big deal, and I still don't think what is causing the problem.

Now, when I removed the device safely from the computer, it has started to cool off the media and then frozen at 99%.

I had transferred 11 GB of data, so I guess it will just take some time. I left it there.

I returned about 45 minutes later, and he was still stuck there. Now, I started to suspect that something is wrong.

I googled a little and found that maybe I need to reset the device. I did it. I then plugged the device into the computer, with a microSD card still in it.

Immediately when I plugged it in, it started refreshing media once again. This time, he did not even half of it. He just sat there, stuck on this scene.

The device was not recognized by the computer. I did the procedure to reset again, and this time removed the microSD card and connected the device to the computer. This time, it worked, and I was able to access the internal memory.

However, all the files are on the microSD card, and whenever I plug the unit into the machine with the card inserted, I can't access anything whatsoever.

The device is not yet recognized by the operating system. What can I do? Is it possible to return it?

    My OS is Arch Linux.

I did a manual update of the firmware from 10.02.18 and even checked in the device.

How can I fix? It's very frustrating, I feel that I spent money on a useless product.

After several hours of frustration, I ended up installing a third-party firmware called RockBox.

The device booted up, even with the microSD card inserted, and I was immediately able to play the files.

No database has been built. This is the way it should be.

So, things turned out all right in the end.

I just think it's a little sad that I had to jailbreak the device to be able to use it for the purpose I bought it for.

    Thanks anyway.

  • "Sansa Fuze v2 freezes on ' update your media.

I had this problem since I got it earlier this year.  I tried to solve this problem in many ways.

First I thought it was a problem to do with the tags which many of you have told me, but after having systematically organize every single audio track, remove all comments, artist information, album art, composer and using mp3val error check each audio track the problem still remains.  The only information on each track are kind, year, song title, artist, album name and track number (this I did on Mp3tag and saved ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1).

The sansa fuze that I is a model of v2 4 GB with a MicroSD of Kingston 16 GB card.   Honestly I am so sick of having to choose who I want to because music the largest number of songs I had on it without it freezing songs s 560 - I would add that most are mp3, some are in flac.  It's less than 6 GB on the 20 GB I have available which is ridiculous because the point all I got a rocket was so that I could increase its capacity without having to buy expensive media players

I have tried updating to the latest firmware but back to 1.02.26 because the problem remains to be 1.02.31.

Good because it will probably be easier to read and make more sense if I just list this information (instead of try to structure some sort of coherence).

D ' other information that may be useful, it's that I have no video, no photos.

-The problem seems to occur after a threshold of the number of songs I have.  For example, when I transfer an album more and it freezes / hangs on the screen "refreshing your media", I have to force it to shut down by pressing the power switch.  Most of you might be thinking that it is again with the offending audio tracks (bad tags etc), however I found that if I remove some albums and try put on the same album, it will be no problem to do.  Only after reaching a certain number (?) of songs that seems to happen.  I'm not going to say as a fact that I'm not 100% sure of that.

-After the screen "refreshing your media" frozen that I have to go back and remove all of the albums, I added which causes the problem.  This might appear as normal except there is no audio data files just an empty folder with the name of the album.

-All titles scanned with mp3val as having 'problems', I removed permanently of the device.

-All the music is transferred in MSC mode - drag and drop

-It never freezes if I transfer audio files to the internal memory.  For example, the album which causes the freeze/hang up can be placed on the internal memory of sansa fuze - no problem

For the love of all things good someone can you please help me solve this problem, I'm sure this can be fixed.

I will update that I can't imagine all the things I've done

    Thank you

  • Refresh your hard Media really long

What is a normal amount of time for my player display "Refreshing your media" after being powered up? I use a 32 GB microSD card, which is often full and it takes about 15-20 minutes for the player to load. This seems a bit excessive since I want to use my drive in the car, and rides the majority take less time than that. Is there a way to make this process go faster?

You skipped the step of installation where you put in MSC mode. FWIW, the installation instructions can help you with this: http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansaclipplus/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-60002

  • Sansa Fuze freezes

    Hello.

I have a 2 GB rocket with a 8 GB memory card. As soon as I got it, the audio would be cut on some titles when the backlight turns off. All my music is on the SD card.

Recently, I downloaded a version of the 01.02.31P firmware update. The problem seemed to disappear on these specific tracks, but since then the "rocket" freezes when I am browsing albums or songs and shows a blackscreen. This happens every time I

keep the power button pressed for about 20 seconds and it's the only way to get the drive out of the gel.

I need to restart it then and every time it starts up, it makes the thing "refreshing your media" which lasts about 20 minutes, and then the whole while browsing the freezing process happens again...

    OK problem solved.

I read somewhere that the album art files can cause these gels. I just deleted all the art I've had in each album, formatted the SD using Vista and downloaded again all the music. works perfect now, but somehow, it always shows the cover of the album next to his name.

  • Updating your media

  • Impossible to copy files to the Sansa Fuze using Windows 7 (drag and drop, or Windows Media Player)

    Hello

Yesterday, I bought the Sansa Fuze and I have problems copying files to the device using either Windows Media Player (Sync) or Drag and Drop (Explorer).

    The symptoms are:

    (1) the device is recognized and available in Windows 7 (Series USB MSC - sorry don't have it with me right now)

    (2) took me to upgrade to the latest firmware, which has worked flawlessly

    (3) when I try to drag and drop a file on the device (I use Windows 7, 64-bit), it starts, but doesn't seem to calculate the size of the files or waiting time to download correctly.  It is followed by a slow progressive, until the computer crashes, resulting in a constant 100% of the CPU.  The only solution is a hard reboot

    (4) when you use Windows WM, the device is recognized, okay and the synchronization starts, but it then stops without reason.  Once again, the processor springs and requires a reboot

    (5) using the results 3 and 4 in 1-5 files being copied across, but not more.

    (6) I tried several albums and one album at a time, but cannot determine if that makes a difference.

    Help, please!

    See you soon,.

    Richard

It may be a bug in Windows 7. But one thing to try is to go to the Device Manager (assuming that Windows 7 still has), uninstall the "rocket" (under USB controllers), and then run add hardware to find and reinstall the driver.

Use the MTP with Windows Media Player mode, MSC mode without.

  • Media Manager for Sansa Fuze +?

Anyone know of any good music and media Manager designed or that works very well with the Sansa Fuze +?

I'm looking for something that works for the Sansa Fuze + like iTunes for iPod.

    Thank you.

I'll take a guess and say that most people would use Windows Media Player. Personally, I used to use Real Player, until something made me decide to just use drag - move. I think that there is some software of Rhapsody that comes with the Fuze +, but since I was not a not even bother to install the cd, I can't check wheather the software is any good.

  • Sansa Fuze frozen

I recently bought a Sansa Fuze 2 GB and it has worked well up to that earlier. I add music to my laptop and it said there was a synchronization error so I plugged not Mp3. Now, he is frozen and says simply 'written' with a blue circle. My battery is full... If it makes a difference. Can anyone help?

Slide the power switch for 20 seconds to reset the "rocket"

  • Freezing Sansa Fuze problem

I have a 4 GB Sansa Fuze with the latest firmware and after about 6 months, he started to have this problem of gel. I don't know what happened exactly, but I unplugged it from my PC once, and when he went to 'Media refreshing' just of freezes and does not load. And now, when I plug it into my PC, it freezes on the screen that says 'Written' and hangs whenever I log on my user account. I believe that this is due to a damaged file from when I had a virus problem, however, because when it connects to my PC, it won't let me format.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I could get my rocket using my Xbox 360 work. That's what I did:

    (1) I have connected to the USB cable from the "rocket" and then connected it to the USB for 360.

    (2) I went to my Xbox, the Control Panel, memory

    (3) I clicked the USB storage device and you click on configure to 360 (to 256 MB)

The Xbox managed to erase all data, including files that never seemed to corrupt, and got, it works again. You may want to format again when you use your PC, or install a new firmware, because the device has been configured for Windows use after you configure it the 360
