The "root directory" is the uppermost directory. That's what you indicated in your message. Drag the file of extracted firmware here, NOT in some records, but rather by their side.

I have a 8 GB Fuze but I could not install the Sansa Updater and more importantly, MSC. I have download the file "SansaUpdaterInstall" on the site... and nothing happens. • Sansa Updater download the user manual

I have a sports Clip of SanDisk 8 GB using an operating system of Windows 10.

I just downloaded the firmware installation program according to the directions on the SanDisk website that updated my firmware to 1.29.  During the update process, the software asked if I wanted to download the new Version 1.0 user manual.  I chose 'Yes' and it appeared to download.  The last window displayed was that the downloaded software user manual and gave me the opportunity to finish.  However, after the 'download', the software opens the My Documents folder... but there was no user manual.  Manually, I opened my download folder to see if she was there... He has been.  Can't find the manual anywhere on my computer.

Now, Eevery time I connect my Sport Clip to the computer, it asks if I want to download the user manual.  The software goes through the motions; but nothing never seems to download.

    Any thoughts?

With more research, I finally found the downloaded manual.  It is deep in the directory structure where I had update Sansa stored on my computer.  This directory is a folder called 'Download'... and the user manual is here.

We can probably close this thread.  I don't know how to do this.

  • Sansa Updater for Sansa Express - can we trust?

Last October, I found myself "bricking" my Sansa Express while trying to update its firmware.  Fortunately I got it back working, but it took several hours of poring over forums and trying different things.  Today, while a few new songs to the Sync feature, a window appears telling me that there is an update available.  Can I trust him and how do I know what are the potential benefits of the update?

As I suggested before, read the Release Notes in the post that I linked to.

It is very possible that you already have the latest version, see how the latest updated for this model is 4 years old now. If you are less than a year ago, you have already installed this version. Check f/w on your Player version to confirm.

  • Failed the Installation Sansa Updater

I just got a Sansa Fuze yesterday. I managed to connect to the computer and now I can put photos and music on it.

The only problem is that I can't put videos. I read somewhere on this forum I need to use the Sansa Media Converter to put top videos. I also read how to install Sansa Media Converter is through the update of the Firmware.

Since yesterday I tried to install the update, but after I run it, it checks my windows and an internet connection and then said 'failed to install. "Please try again later".

I'm really frustrated and I don't know what to do, can someone please help me?

You don't have to bother with the Updater (not even for firmware updates); It is a resource hog and the nag-ware. You can download the Sansa Media Converter by accessing the named for this Commission on this forum (just below the Board of Directors) and clicking on the highest position (shaded).

I recommend reading through a few threads of the Board... you will find that in cases of MEST you first convert the video using a different conversion program before SMC will do a job. He's not all video formats.

Or you can use video4fuze, created by a Member here on the forum. Haven't tried it myself yet, but a lot of people say it's the best thing since toilet on a roll paper.

  • Sansa Updater fails to install

When I try to install the update, it will pass through everything and then say, "the Installation failed. Please try again later. "I've been at this for two days. What is going on?

Life is too short for frustrations like that. Why don't just manually update you your firmware? Complete and simple instructions are always given the Firmware update posts here on the forum with links to files .zip for individual players.

It only takes a few minutes; less time in fact that the installation of the update. More updates are always posted here on the forum of the second as their output. and before the update even knows they are available. Just check back here every two months and you won't miss a thing.

In addition, the update is a Devourer of resources and trying to find an update every time you connect your player to your computer, if the addition or removal of content or simply pendt, basically makes nag-ware.

  • Sansa Firmware Updater fails to install on my PC

    Hello world

I can't install the update on my pc.

This is what he wrote when it fails: "Downloding last sansa updater...»    X '.

"The installation fails. "Please try again later".

I have tried many times in the past 24 hours and its still the same.

My pc is clean no viruses, spyware, etc., well maintained, firewall does not block it.

    Any suggestions?

Most here do not recommend the use of the update. It's a resource hog that will slow your system down and nag-ware is most of the time as whenever you plug your player will be 'phone home' looking for updates. Firmware updates are not very numerous and widely spaced and manually updated (or reinstall) updates usually takes less time than downloading and installing the update.

  • Sansa Firmware Updater fails to install every time...

I have had my Sansa View for about 2 months now. I have never been able to install the Sansa firmware update. It seems to go through all the steps, then suddenly steps back on the "download the latest Sansa Updater" and says that failed (once just a second before this step was completed successfully). It seems to with success download it, install it, then save, then he can make another step or it may fail on the registration... I can't. All the steps after downloading disappear and now it says that the step does not and gives me the error message "Installation failed. Please try again later. "I think 2 months is much later...

I am running Windows XP SP3 32-bit. The windows firewall is disabled and I use COMODO Internet Security and I use Avira Antivirus. I tried to disable the firewall and the antivirus just to see if they are the cause of the problem, but it has no effect on the results of the installation. In addition, COMODO logs do not show any activity blocked the Installer (or whatever it is blocked at all today). My account is an administrator account.

Now, I think it should be noted that I don't need an update of the firmware. My player integrates the latest version from the website. What I really want is to convert my videos so that I can use them on the player. Unfortanetly there is no way to install the Sansa Media Converter without installing the Firmware Updater (ahh... how many times I tried wasn't the case... but alas...).

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

SOLUTION: I found a thread on the forum of Sansa View that describes the required parameters for the conversion of the video correctly to play on my device. (Here: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=view&thread.id=3300) Given that I don't need to update my firmware (and lets hope I don't) it is a perfect solution for me (especially considering the horrible things I've heard of the SCM).

  • Sansa Clip freezes at startup and on the firmware update

After unplugging my video to my computer, it is hung on the screen "Connected".

I forced a reset by pressing the power switch it 10 seconds

He then restarted and hung on the Sansa screen

I followed the instructions given in these forums in order to download the update of the firmware, mount the Clip in MSC mode and install the firmware.  Unplug the Clip, it hangs at "Update Firmware in progress" screen.

I then re-mounted the Clip in MSC mode and deleted all the files of music and the update of the firmware.  After disconnection, he hooked again on the Sansa screen.  I then mounted in MSC mode and re-installed the update of the firmware.  He is now suspended again at the screen to update the firmware.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The following procedure restored the Clip, but requires access to a Windows operating system:

    1. Tower Mounting Clip in MSC mode off camera (now switch is in position 10 sec If necessary 'on'). Set the switch to position 'Hold '. While pressing the "Select" Center, plug it into the USB port on a Windows computer. Wait for Windows to recognize the device before you release the "Select" button

    2. format of the Clip Double click on 'My Computer' to open a window of the Explorer. You should now see the video listed as a reader. Right click on the video player icon and select "Format". Select "FAT32". Do not check the box "quick format". Format the drive.

    3. Finish you can now disconnect the Clip of the computer and it should behave as a Clip of the new out-of-the-box. If you wish, you can download Sansa Updater software from the web site of Sansa (Sansa > support > Clip > downloadsansa Firmware Updater) and run it to install the latest version of the firmware on your device.

  • Sansa fuze will not update track licenses

I must have the most ghetto sansa fuze there because I had so many problems with mine. I currently have two. I have the new firmware from sandisk sansa updater program.

    First of all:

When I connect my sansa fuze to my PC to update track licenses, add songs, etc. that my computer slows down considerably and all internet access is stopped. I can't sign my account on rhapsody because the internet will not work. And since internet does not work when it is connected, I could not update my licenses and now they are all expired. Help, please!

    Second:

I took the same sansa fuse to another computer. When I plugged on the second computer, I had no problem. However, when I try to update the licenses, the Rhapsody program says that the function is finished. But when I try to listen to music in the "rocket", the "rocket" tells me that track licenses are obsolete. I've updated the entire library and internal and external disks, appears in the pane. I hope this makes some sense. Any help is appreciated.

It's the limitation of the Janus DRM.  You must update the licenses of track on the same PC as they were transferred from.

This isn't a fault with Rhapsody, it's part of the way in which DRM system has been designed.  Format RealAudio RAX of Rhapsody has circumvented this restriction by using the Rhapsody from Sansa e200R.

Regarding the license updates in the last 24 hours, the real servers had issues.  The system is back today!  Yep, I met the same question, a handful of devices update last night.

  • Sansa view 8 GB and firmware update

HI I am a newbie so sorry if this has been posted before, I used my sansa view 8 gb mp3 and added lots of music, he loved, in any case now I decided to download the firmware update when I made it to my pc with windows 7, my mp3 player has been assigned to the pc, carefully he showed everything on battery strength m of free space etc. Once I had downloaded the firmware, computer recognizes only removable disk size 15.9 MB and sansa view shows on the display no valid g7object image loading failed when bootin mini b device mode

I had to order a new sansa view 16 GB mp3 player but at the very least, I would like to recover my music and would be very happy if I could get the MP3 itself can someone please help an absolute fool, think that it was my fault because it was perfectly ok before thanks a lot

Try the following manual not not (MSC mode) the firmware in this postinstallation instructions. Do not download and use the Sansa Updater (even if the receommends post at). Also be sure to download the correct .zip file (the one labeled A if you are in America) and unzip or extract to somewhere easy to find (like your desktop).

This should guide you through it easily.

  • Y at - he liked an update firmware for the sansa clip

If I use the sansa updater it detects it as a normal element and gives me a firmware to install, one that ends in 32 I think, but if I install what I think ill ruin the clip, so I ask if a firmware update for the clip more were released, I got V01.01.05A firmware now

No update firmware at the moment; you have the most recent.  If/when an update of the issues, it is likely is displayed as a sticky thread at the top of this forum.

While he was trying to transfer my cell phone to my Sansa Clip audiobook, I get the following error during the file transfer:

""It is not possible to obtain the certificate of the device. " Contact the device manufacturer for a firmware update or other measures to address this problem. » » »

When I try to down load the latest Sansa firmware using the "Sansa Updater 1.2 ' version, I get the following error:"

  • update firmware manually

    Hi again

update the firmware on Clip 4 GB of v01.01.29A and the firmware on the Clip + 8 GB v01.02.15A

    Windows 7 Prof SP1 32-bit

    WMP 12

I read that most will not use the sansa update and instead just download the files of the firmware of this forum. Instructions to place the unpacked in the "root directory" of the Clip. As I understand it, the Clip should already be connected to the computer. I slide into the "root directory", and unplug the Clip of the computer and it will update the firmware. I can't drag - d├⌐poser but where and how do I find the "root directory" for the Clip?

Sorry to post a stupid question. And I guess that the answer will be as simple as the nose on my face when I find

    Thanks in advance

In my view, that the instructions are false. The drive turns off automatically. You must re - manually start it.

That's OK... it will not explode.

How to get a useless Sansa Clip works again

    user XSCD, 16/10/2008

    http://forums.SanDisk.com/T5/Sansa-clip-Sansa-clip/need-tech-help-restore-partition-s-filesystems-et... ghlight/true #M8170

    1. Reformat Sansa Clip flash memory and install a FAT32 file system. You can reformat in Linux using Gparted, but the Clip still won't work because the Clip wants the exact settings that Windows uses when it formats a blank disc. However, reformat the Clip in Gparted will serve to ensure that it will not work absolutely nor be recognized by a Windows machine. So go ahead and this once if you wish. Then connect the Sansa Clip USB2 to a computer running Windows or Vista. Then use Windows File Manager (Windows Explorer) to try to open the drive letter of the USB Windows detected device. Windows will give you an error message saying: the drive is not formatted and offer to format it for you. Choose the FAT32 file system and uncheck "quick format". Then let Windows format the Sansa Clip flash memory.
    2. Once the Clip is in the Windows format, delete ('remove hardware safely' icon in the system tray, then unplugging the USB cable). Then go to SanDisk.com and download the "Sansa Updater." This application is update the firmware for the Sansa Clips that are already working, but believe it or not, it can also completely restore the firmware and de-structure of directories and files including the Clip needs to run. After downloading and running or installing the update for Sansa, close the program. Then reconnect the Clip on Windows. It must be recognized and the Sansa Updater program may start automatically. If not, then find the Sansa Updater in the start menu, run it and follow its instructions. It will get your Sansa Clip, then download the latest firmware, then restore your Sansa Clip used-to-be-there's no need to Virgin State, approved, completely updated
