Satellite 2410-601 - no power on laptop

Hi, when the laptop is plugged in there is no power indicated on the laptop, light that is the orange light. I checked the fuse on the plug etc...

Maybe that's a problem of PSU or with the laptop itself?

The laptop has no power now, so I can't use it. When I do try and it turn on the Toshiba screen appears for about 5 seconds...

Help!

Hi dawn,

Merry Christmas. Your problem could be with either the AC adapter or the laptop itself, then you will need to check if you have found any current adapter output. You will need to do it with a suitable multimeter.

AC adapters can fracture the cable that connects to the laptop, usually in the vicinity of the connector (next to the envelope of the adapter) strain so carefully inspect the cable on its length and look for signs of weakness or breakage.

If everything seems fine with the cable/adapter can visually check the socket on the laptop and make sure the plug is intact and has not been damaged in any way.

I hope that your problem will involve just a replacement adapter, but if you have doubts, then, it would be best to consult a partner of Service authorized for more tips.

best wishes and happy new year,

  • Card SD slot does not not - Satellite 2410 601

    Hello
I've had my TOSHIBA Satellite 2410 601 laptop for almost 3 years and have never needed to use the SD slot. However, now I would like to use, since I got it.
When I insert an SD card, the works 'flashy light', but I don't see the drive in my computer.
I tried to download the drivers from this site and following the instructions - but nothing works.
It must be a driver problem or the program I think.
    (help!)
    Thank you

[Edited by: admin on 11 February 06 20:29]

    Hello

First of all, you should check that if Device Manager the SD slot in properly installed.
If the yellow exclamation point appears in Device Manager in the SD area so there's something wrong. Usually, the driver is missing. In this case, you will need to install the driver of SD host controller and SD card driver. These drivers you will find on the Toshiba site.

If the device has been installed correctly and that the Device Manager doesn't show any exclamation point if you must use a compatible SD card and supported.
Please see user's manual for supported SD cards.

    Hello

I would be very interesting to know what laptop you have and if the warranty is valid. If your laptop is under warranty if you shouldn't t open anything because you'll lose it. In this case, you should ask the service to help him.

If the laptop is out of warranty, so you can try to remove the lids for lid and frame. I think that there is a possibility to tighten the screws, you should find.

When you press the power button, there is no fan activity, only on dvd rom light and goes back to the wide. Does anyone have an idea on what I can verify. Memory, Cpu, etc or what could be the problem.

The battery has a full charge, more I plugged it. The led does not illuminate when you press the power button.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Well well, without testing the laptop it of not possible to give you an answer exactly.
It of needed to check the laptop only computer parts (memory, CPU).
But it's not easy to verify no additional experience.
In my opinion the best way is to contact the ASP. It of the best way to locate the fault.

    Hello!

  • Satellite 2410-504 does not start after you remove RAM module

    Hello

    I need assistance or advice.

I have a portable Satellite 2410-504 and I was looking for to increase the memory, I am a Novice with computers, I decided to remove the Module that is already in place (to see if I was capable of employment)

After removing and then returning the Module, then I went to turn on the laptop and Yes you guessed it, NOTHING!
The power lights are on and the light comes on but the screen is blank and there are no hard disk activity.

Now, trying to get back on my actions, I have been unable to completely remove the battery but I'm sure that he slipped on the connectors.
Could I have caused permanent damage or are my actions retreivable.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike-c

    Hello

Did you check if the RAM has been inserted correctly?
    Select this check box.
But of course, the RAM could be damage due to wrong treatment nothing is impossible
My computer laptop didn t start because one of the RAM died suddenly.

What you could do is to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Then you have to wait a little (one hour) and need to connect the two parts again.
Then try turning on the laptop computer.

  • Updates to HDD on the Satellite 2410

I know that I can just paste any drive that will fit in, but my question is:

Can I use the CD of recovery came with my laptop to re - install windows XP on the new drive, or do I have to get a separate copy of XP?

The laptop model is a Satellite 2410 - something and has 30 GB and I thought I'd go for a 80-100 GB drive.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi James,

Your recovery CD will work with according to hard drive you choose to install.

Regarding your choice of reader please be careful with your choice of speed of rotation. Laptop cooling only for CPU cooler, so additional heat produced by your hard drive should be able to absorb naturally. Rotation faster speed 5400 and 7200 RPM naturally generate more heat and can cause problems for your laptop.

Obviously if you don't use of disk resources intensive applications this can be mitigated by leaving hard drive to power down when not in service.

Either by the way, I use a 5400 RPM 80 GB drive in my SA30 and the additional heat produced is that in evidence when I run a scan for virus/malware full follow-up of a defrag and full backup of the image and believe me the housing becomes very hot in the vicinity of the hard drive.

    Kind regards

  • Problem of recharging satellite 2410 404

    Hello

I have a big problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite 2410 404.

Battery does not charge. The orange charge light is on, but windows does not say "supported". The State of the battery is 3%. Sometimes (rerely), it grows up to 5 or 6%. If I deconnect the power suply, the laptop turns off after 10-20 seconds. First I thougt it was a problem with the battery, so I changed it - the problem was still there. I also changed the load table (electronic load) but the problem is still there.

Can it be a problem with the CMOS battery? Because it is empty (If Li-ion battery isn't insinde, laptop loses date and time).

I updated the Bios to the latest version on the website of Thoshiba and I use PowerSaver...

    Someone has an idea?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi René,.

I suspect that the problem may be with your power adapter. Your CMOS battery is not the problem, since this normally recharge your power supply when connected to your laptop. The fact that your CMOS battery is also free of charge indicates that the poroblem lies with the load subsystem or the adapter itself.

Your incorporstes network adapter an electronic controller that adjusts the current goes to your laptop based on demand. I suspect it is insufficient current originally be available to use your laptop and recharge your batteries CMOS and laptop.

  • Upgrade the hard drive Satellite 2410 404

    Hello

I want to improve my toshiba Satellite 2410 404 with a hard drive again. For now I have just 30 GB drive and is not enough for me.

I checked three products to a new Toshiba hard drive.

    MK-8032GAX
    MK-1032GAX
    MK-1233GAX

The model MK-1032GAX 100 GB is my favorite and now my question is, if this drive work with my laptop (im going to install the drive in a toshiba technical station, don't do myself.) or if I have to change something with my mobile phone, update the bios or something.

Just tell me what I should do to work with this drive or if my laptop is not ready for it because it is nearly three years.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

As far as I know this laptop supports only 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and 60 GB hard drives
I guess that a 100 GB HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS.

    60 GB MK6021GAS HDD
    MP40KF 40 GB HARD DRIVE
    MK30kef 30 GB HARD drive
    MQ20ksf 20 GB HARD disk

Hope this info will help you

2 Schould I change the bars of memory at the same time? Of memory should what type of module I take?

    3. What can I do with the old memory modules?

    Thank you in advance,

    Hello

The fact is that you can upgrade the memory maximum: 1024MB.
In this case, you can use the max 2x512MB memory modules.

I've studied a bit and found these compatible memory modules:
    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
    PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)
