    Hello

This error almost always occurs because the computer cannot hear regular ringing when it picks up the phone line to dial through the modem.
Unfortunately, there is no standard solution for this problem.
Did you check that the modem is plugged into a phone point in the wall?

  • Satellite A10: RGB Port is not installed - can not use external display

Satellite A10 the RGB PORT is not installed & cannot be used as external display. I tried to install the communication or COM 1. interrupt code. What are the possible solutions?

    Hello

What did you mean by "not installed"?
Generally, you don't need to install anything. You don't need any drivers for this port 3.
Windows XP drivers should work properly.

Please check device manager if there are errors or yellow exclamation points.
If the problem occurs for a short time, you can try to use the WinXP restore tool.
This tool will reduce the BONE until the start.

  • COM/LPT ports on Satellite A10 lost and can't use the modem

My Satellite A10 lost ports, and I can't use my modem.
    What can I do?

    Hello

I think you should remove the modem from Device Manager. Restart the machine and the operating system should recognize the modem again. Then you can reinstall the modem driver.
All this should be done automatically and you need t to add all ports.
The properties must be enabled if you have administrator rights.

When I am trying to connect to the internet via 3 g USB modem, I get error 633: Modem is in use or not properly configured.
The software and drivers have been installed correctly.  I uninstalled and re installed several times without success. I tried the same thing in safe mode without success.

    Hello

I suggest you to check if the modem is compatible with Windows 7.

    Check out the link:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

I would also recommend to connect the modem to a different computer and check if it detects there. If it does not work on another computer also, then the problem is with the modem and I would ask you to contact the manufacturer of the modem for any further assistance.

  • SP A10 - Error 633: the modem is not installed or configured for Dial-Up

I've already reformatted the hard drive and the utility CD to reinstall the modem driver. Anyone got tips on how to solve the problem? An external modem would solve it?
    Either way, it's a satellite pro A10

    Hello

If the HARD drive is formatted, use the recovery CD and reinstall the OS. After that, the modem must be recognized and properly installed. After that, configure Dial connection and check the modem. If the modem is not defective, it should work.

The strange thing is that there is Error 633 which means: the port is already in use or is not configured for remote access remote calls.
Please check this interesting site http://www.modemsite.com/56k/duns633.asp.

  • Pair of M30 - 604 with installing identical software - Modem gets Error 633

    Hello

I have a pair of Satellite M30 604 s running Microsoft Windows XP SP2, the same Office 2003 Enterprise, Norton SystemWorks 2005 software. All was well at least the last 6 months.

I recently installed Norton GoBack part of SystemWorks, this may or may not be connected to the problem, it's just the latest thing that has been installed.

A single machine whenever you try to connect through software Modem on COM3 TOSHIBA gets Error 633.

Have studied the problem even backed up a machine and restored that to the defective one, still no error.

Any ideas, or I might have to strip the thing down by using the recovery disks, is not prepared, in view of the time it will take to get back to where he is - without this annoying fault.

Seems to be the hardware failure or conflict as now make a full recovery.

First of all, I suggest you to check if the modem is compatible with Windows 7.

    Check out the link:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Error 633 indicates that the port is already in use or is not configured for remote access dial out. You may need to check if the VPN and the connection connection try to use the same port that is causing the problem. You may need to check the settings of the modem and change the port for your needs.

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

    Method 1:

Reserves explicitly the TCP port that is used for the VPN connection. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type regedit.exe in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. in the registry editor, find and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

    (c) in the Edit menu, point tonewand then click multi-string value.

    d. rename the multi-string value as 'ReservedPorts' and then double-clickReservedPorts.

    e. in the value data box, type1723-1723, and then click OK.

    f. exit the registry editor.

Registry warning: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/

    .

    Method 2:

Use the netstat command to find the program that is using port 1723. Then, end the process for this program. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type cmd.exe in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    NETSTAT - aon

    c. in the result which appears, identify the process ID for the program, if any, who is using the TCP port 1723.

    d. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:taskkill/pid PID/f

Note: The taskkill command terminates the process that corresponds to the ID of the process. The/F option is used forcefully to complete the process.

    e. at the command prompt, typeexitand press ENTER to quit the command prompt.

Restart your computer. This may cause the program that uses the TCP 1723 port to use a different port.

    I hope that helps!

  • Keyboard on my Satellite A10 error

I have a portable satellite A10. It works very well, to accept a part: the keyboard. No reason, at some unpredictable point all the special keys on the right-hand side are mixed up (as of the key (,. / '=} etc.).) So, for example when I use the key / on the screen you will see =. I tried an external keyboard: same error. The problem can be resolved by restarting the computer, but it is up to each time.

The laptop is purchased nov 2003, tried install several drivers, nothing has worked. Everyone recognizes this problem?

    Hello

I guess the reason for your problem may be in the language settings. {[For example, if you have a keyboard of the France and the default input language is set to English, all the keys as & ^ _]} + will be mixed.

Please check under the Control Panel regional and language under text services and input languages Options, you will find the Details button. Go ahead and check your default input language. Should set you your regional language.

If you have some problems after that, please write again.

  • satellite A10: no com3 don't dailtone

We have a toshiba satellite A10 with a modem internal toshiba. (XP OPERATING SYSTEM)
We lost the connection while working, and when we tried to reconnect there was no dial tone.

the modem works fine after interrogation he under the modem diagnostics, but just to be safe, I also tried another card modem with the same results.
the line is very good, I use it now.
in Device Manager, I could not see an entry for the ports, so I did a scan of hardware, but which does nothing and then I added a Compote via the Add Hardware icon in Control Panel. This solves the problem I couldn't see the ports in the Device Manager but now the thus created com3 has a yellow exclamation point and tells me that the device cannot start code 10.

So I deleted all the devices of yellow exclamation point and the modem, then restarted and after that the modem is immediately recognized and installed but her agrees not and they must be added manually with the same result of yellow exclamation point.

Some people suggest I get into the bios and remove or disable the ports and then start but bios does not even an entry for the ports. I get into the bios by keeping ESC pressed to the commissioning and in fact Toshiba adds a nice button on the control panel with HWsetup that gives the same options.

so now, I ran out of options and turn to experts for help.

    Thanks, Leo

    Hello

Code 10 means that this device cannot start. I'm a little confused about your problem. First COM 3 is a virtual port and it is normal that this port is invisible. If this port is visible, it must be with exclamation yellow because it's the virtual port, no real hardware. But it is not necessary be installed with the Add Hardware Wizard.

Your problem can be caused by many things.

    1. delete all entries with yellow exclamations. Search for hardware changes again. Now new modem is installed, and my opinion is that should now work correctly. But remember: you must make the new dial-up network connection and old must be deleted. It is very important because the old a lot of content of information settings that installed new Modem cannot use more. Also check the properties of your modem.

    2. after the installation of your modem card, there may be some conflicts with Modem from Toshiba. If you do not use the modem card all maybe more, is useful to delete all installed software.

    3. it is also possible that you have some dialer installed on your machine. Check it!

If that doesn t work, please let us know. And if you create your connection again, tell us what a problem was.

  • My dial-up stopped linking and receives the Error 633

Yes, I really have no idea about what happened, but about 2 days ago my internet worked perfectly for about 6 or 7 months until recently. When I went to dial the internet what he says instantly that it couldn't connect, I did some looking inside and found she had Error 633 and I think as 797. I have not changed my settings or updated my drivers. I went to look for info on the internet using my laptop with the same connection. It works fine on the laptop with the same cable and its pilots have also not been updated. in any case, I found absolutely nothing of value except for the fact that I could copy the drivers from the modem to my computer via USB drive but I have no idea how to do that. I also found that I could go to the Device Manager and check my modem drivers, but I opened the Device Manager and found no tree of modem.

    Important things to know:

    (1) I tried the system restore and I tried to restart my computer.

    (2) the connection works very well on my laptop with XP but not on my computer with Vista.

    (3) the connection has always worked fine before.

    (4) Error 633 and I think it was 787 have came.

    (5) I have not changed the settings for a month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have been searching the Internet on my laptop and found nothing for about 2 hours now

EDIT: I used the hibernation function last night and this has happened after coming out of hibernation if it has something to do with it.

Also I don't know if it is supposed to have a section of modem driver in the Device Manager I have not a modem, the dial to the high connection that I'm talking about is the kind where you plug a phone line at the computer and dial the right kind. The same telephone line and the connection works with my laptop but not my computer even though it has always worked before...

    Hi Enclave X 1,.

I suggest following these steps below and check if this solves the problem.

    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
    b. in Control Panel, click Modem Options and.
    c. make sure that at least one modem is installed.
    d. If the modem is external, make sure that the serial cable is connected to the computer and the modem.

Note If there is no modem installed in the modem control panel tool, no port is assigned for internal modems. In general, internal modems using COM3 or COM4, and the COM ports are also found. You can look in to these ports Device Manager to verify that there is really no modem installed.
