According to this statement you must have installed Windows XP SP3 home edition.

Your ad is a bit confusing to me. You have a problem with the functionality of DVD - RAM or optical disc drive cannot read all drives (different CD, DVD, DVD - R formats. DVD + R and so on)?

I put t know what is the problem with the optical disc drive, but way generally, an installation of software packages has nothing to do with ODD when you use it as first boot device.
    > I can not even restart my operating system discs cannot be read from the BIOS either.
    Restart or reinstall?
Is a readable recovery DVDs when you try to start the recovery image installation?

  • Cannot start by Satellite A10-S703 from sleep mode

My boss gave me a Satellite A10-S703 running windows XP. I was tooling autour, when suddenly the computer is in sleep mode (LED flashes orange). I tried pressing the power button, but nothing happens. What should I do? I am seriously at the end of the roll and will be in hot water if I can't get the thing started. Help, please.

    Hello

It of very strange that the laptop switches mode standby during the work on this.
Anyway, you can try this way:
Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery from the laptop and wait several times. It's not easy to tell how long to wait but wait 10-15 minutes

Replace the battery in the notebook, and then connect the power adapter. Try turning on the laptop computer.

To my knowledge, this is a common procedure if such question comes on the laptop.

  • Satellite C850 - start from the number of DVD - replace Win8 by Win7U

Got a new C850-1JZ yesterday and I am trying to replace the pre-installed Win 8 with Windows 7. I created the recovery media (3 DVDs).

The laptop makes me 'crazy' because it seems to block any attempt to start anything else than Win8 preinstalled hard disk.

1.) Inserted Win 7 Ultimate DVD and tried to start, wouldn't boot from the disc.
Loaded 2), Advanced menu start and I tried to boot from ODD, wouldn't boot from the disc. (The options are LAN, USB, HDD and ODD (assuming that it's optical disc))
3.) regular Changed priority boot bios settings to boot from the BIZARRE first, then HARD drive, wouldn't boot disk.
4.) learned he is a 'bunch of security protection' mechanism activated by default in the bios. Turned it off. The machine starts to load ODD and says "Windows is loading files" and then hangs. It is a Win7 Ultimate original MS disk from the Microsoft store, no scratches. Makes no sense. In fact, we have 2 of them, so I tried another, same result.
5.) thought screw that, let's just put the hard drive of the other computer (T61) here then and clean again to set up another time. Replace hard drive with another hdd sata who has Win 7 ultimate installed and configured. When booting from the hard drive, it says 'No BONES' found and restarts. At the start of ODD, it starts with windows is again loading files and then freezes.

What kind of other settings of extra protection/virus blocker/stupid am I missing here? It's confusing to me. Thank you.

I managed to install Win7 on my U940 and everything I've done is actually described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm

  • Satellite A10 - recovery disk not recognized

I want to format my hard drive and reinstall windows xp.

Of course, I have Toshiba A10 laptop with HDD 160g, 1 g of Ram, cd/dvd player and the restore disc (cd).

Problem: the restore disc is not recognized by the cd player. When I insert the disc, then again, boot sequence goes to hard drive and boots from there

    What I did:
    1. check if the reader sees another s cd. Answer Yes, Yes
2 boot sequence of the bios checked as well as toshiba consoles set up made sure it is
in "order"hdd, lan, floppy, cdrom", (I tried other combinations starting with cd as well).
    3. I cleaned the restore disc, didn't work
    4. I ordered another set of Toshiba restore disk, which did not work either, still not recognized
    5. I bought a cd/dvd external reader believe it or not, disc starts to work in this case, I get a warning screen shows all data will be lost and asks me to click if I want to continue, when I click it says will now restart the computer and it does but comes back and goes back on the hard drive and boots from there.

I must also add; When I switch on I get "' pxe e61 media test failure, mof outgoing intel boot agt" msg, according to my search, this problem indicates hard disk.
but my hard drive does not work,

Will someone give me an advice?

If the BIOS is set to boot from the local network first, before trying to boot from the HARD drive, you will see the error PXE.

Have you tried to clean the lens in the DVD player? Wipe with a Microfiber cloth.

try holding down "C" when you turn on the laptop, this will make it boot from the CD.

  • Laptop Toshiba DVD RD/CD RW ROM not recognized after Vista installed

My Toshiba laptop which has Windows Vista cannot read my ODD.  A month ago I had the same problem which was worst, could recornize not WEIRD at all.  Now, it recornizes ODD, however, after the execution of this program to fixhttp://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems, still reads at all.  Please help me!

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

  • Windows 8 recovery from a laptop fully cleaned

Just bought my computer for less than a month, and blockages of the system unbearable just kill me. So I decided to reset and reinstall windows 8. I chose completely clean all drives, so that there is nothing that could cause problems left in my laptop. Due to the long time of reset, I did some research on Google and find out who is entirely clean used for resale. Now, I'm worried that I won't be able to use my recovery disks to reinstall windows 8. So my question is, can I use my recovery disks to reinstall windows after a completely clean reset?

    Hello

Recovery disks are aligned by a manufacturer or an end user. OEM supplied recovery media is usually comes with most computers to allow the user to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system and preloaded software, it was when it was shipped.

In case you use a retail disk to clean install Windows 8, you will not be able to use the recovery disk to perform all actions by using the recovery disk.

  • Recovery CD work not (Satellite A10) - need password for ghost image

    Hello

I have a Satellite A10, which took its CD player died. I need to reimage using the recovery disks that came with it, but I can't because I don't have an external hard drive that is very convenient.

What I can do is copy ghosting from disks of recovery on an external USB drive, boot from that and then run Ghost and picture then the laptop of the ghost image, which I copied from the CD.

Only problem is that the image is locked with a password I do not know. Toshiba is able to provide a password or let me know how to get the required password so I can use the image on my laptop?
    See you soon

    Patrick

    Hello Patrick

To be honest I don't think that you will get this password. That should give you?
In my opinion, you should buy the new optical disk drive and be happy with your laptop.
Satellite A10 is old enough laptop model and sides are not expensive.

Alternatively, you can get one on eBay.

  • satellite A10: no com3 don't dailtone

We have a toshiba satellite A10 with a modem internal toshiba. (XP OPERATING SYSTEM)
We lost the connection while working, and when we tried to reconnect there was no dial tone.

the modem works fine after interrogation he under the modem diagnostics, but just to be safe, I also tried another card modem with the same results.
the line is very good, I use it now.
in Device Manager, I could not see an entry for the ports, so I did a scan of hardware, but which does nothing and then I added a Compote via the Add Hardware icon in Control Panel. This solves the problem I couldn't see the ports in the Device Manager but now the thus created com3 has a yellow exclamation point and tells me that the device cannot start code 10.

So I deleted all the devices of yellow exclamation point and the modem, then restarted and after that the modem is immediately recognized and installed but her agrees not and they must be added manually with the same result of yellow exclamation point.

Some people suggest I get into the bios and remove or disable the ports and then start but bios does not even an entry for the ports. I get into the bios by keeping ESC pressed to the commissioning and in fact Toshiba adds a nice button on the control panel with HWsetup that gives the same options.

so now, I ran out of options and turn to experts for help.

    Thanks, Leo

    Hello

Code 10 means that this device cannot start. I'm a little confused about your problem. First COM 3 is a virtual port and it is normal that this port is invisible. If this port is visible, it must be with exclamation yellow because it's the virtual port, no real hardware. But it is not necessary be installed with the Add Hardware Wizard.

Your problem can be caused by many things.

    1. delete all entries with yellow exclamations. Search for hardware changes again. Now new modem is installed, and my opinion is that should now work correctly. But remember: you must make the new dial-up network connection and old must be deleted. It is very important because the old a lot of content of information settings that installed new Modem cannot use more. Also check the properties of your modem.

    2. after the installation of your modem card, there may be some conflicts with Modem from Toshiba. If you do not use the modem card all maybe more, is useful to delete all installed software.

    3. it is also possible that you have some dialer installed on your machine. Check it!

If that doesn t work, please let us know. And if you create your connection again, tell us what a problem was.

  • Since another laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 - can I use Recovery CD?

    Hello

    I can't get a computer to load Vista (Equium l300 (I think).
Ubuntu loads very well (I have a linux partition 8 GB, with GRUB installed in a separate partition), but when I try to load vista I get "to go". "and nothing happens.

I tried HDDRecovery by pressing '0' or 'F8', but this gave me a check disk for errors and nothing more.
I always have a backup of HARD drive recovery in another partition, but I know not where to place them, can you tell me where?

Then I discovered that I have a wife satellite toshiba recovery disc.

I can use it to recover the satellite or it will remove a real installation of Vista, put a 'pirate' new copy in its place?
If I can't do that, can someone tell me where to place the folder HDDRecovery image?

In General, Toshiba create materials recovery and images of recovery for each laptop model separately.
Each laptop model has different hardware and recovery images are not the same.
Before the start of recovery it will be checked if the recovery image belongs to some portable computers. If the identification is not just installation of recovery is interrupted.

One last thing. If you have changed the structure of the partitions or installed some other OS, you will not be able to use the recovery saved on the HARD disk image.
It is bad enough that you have ignored the reminder of recovery with clear instructions on creating recovery DVDs.

    Here is the original post:
    Important INFORMATION

your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need to repair
your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly
hard disk (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer"
and follow the instructions in the menu) or create a media drive bootable recovery for this purpose.

Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium using the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator"
to ensure that you are able to restore your computer to the original factory, installed state
even if your computer is seriously damaged.

  • Satellite C650 saves - Toshiba DVD creator - but does not check

I have a Toshiba Satellite C650 bought in 2010 with Windows 7. I use pre-installed "Toshiba DVD creator" to record stuff.

Recently, every time I burn a DVD (saving options: all the veryfing and close DVD), save it, but when he supposed to begin the process of veryfing, the DVD tray opens and a message is displayed ("DVD is not properly registered").

But the curious thing is that if I read that the DVD in my laptop or even another computer, the DVD seems to be burned properly, all the folders and files are read. The amount of bytes is exactly the same as in the hard drive. The only problem is that the DVD cannot be verified.

This happened at the beginning, when I got my laptop. It seems kind of a problem of "software incompatibility. I don't have a lot of programs installed in my hard drive, but the problems started after installing the Microsoft Essentials antivirus.

I tried to disable 'permanent protection' in the antivirus, and then restart the computer and burn the DVD, but the problem persists. As I said earlier, the DVD seems to be burning properly.

How to solve the problem? What happens if I download a newer version of the DVD Creator?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I had some problems to burn the recovery discs too.
I had problems with different DVDs from different manufacturers.
Finally I could solve this problem by using the TDK DVD-R Verbatim works too, but I'll stick with TDK DVD R.

  • Satellite L350-171 - where to get the DVD to upgrade Toshiba (Vista to W7)

    Hello world

I have a Satellite L350-171 and got a W7 DVD update "awhile." I get only round to install now and the first thing I see in the instructions, it's that I should have a upgrade DVD Toshiba, which I did :-(

Anyone know where I can get one, or if I need any? If not then can I just upgrade and hope that all drivers updated automatically? Sounds a bit risky

I hope this is the right place to ask.
If it isn't then point me in the right direction and I'll ask here rather :-)

Thanks in advance for any help

    Damian

A few years ago, Toshiba offered this upgrade program.
It's over and you can't upgrade drive more.

What you can do is be upgraded using the original disc of Microsoft, but I think you should do clean install Win7. Your model of laptop is supported for Win7 and all necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba support page http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Before starting with the upgrade Win7 create original Vista recovery DVDs.
If you need assistance with installing Win7 or if you have other questions, you are welcome.

    Hello world

I just joined the forum and already I need help.

I have 2 questions (10) I'm an ODP, and I volunteer for a local blind group who all have laptops and rewrite the textbooks in braille users. Now a desire to know how start recovery from the HARD disk drive and what you should do disks for this.

and (2) another received a laptop computer Toshiba A 100 and it does not start as soon as the Toshiba screen appears it lacks a password, we tried all kinds of passwords, tails of start and a new record of program but it does not start. Can anyone help please.

For instructions how to recover a Toshiba laptop with verification of HARD drive recovery procedure please this document > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

The Satellite A100, I presume that you need BIOS password. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. Accredited maintainer Toshiba can remove the password for you.

  • Satellite A10: I lost the recovery CD - how do I get one?

    Hello

I am trying to reinstall Windows XP on my Satellite A10, but I lost the recovery CD.
I had a 'normal' Windows XP installation CD I try to use to reinstall, but installation will not take the serial number on the botton of my laptop...

Do you know what is a workaround for this?
And ultimately how to get a copy of the installation CD...

    Best regards

    Even

The key that is located on the bottom of the unit is only an OEM key.
This means that it only works with the OEM preinstalled and bundled with the laptop version. Simply said, you can't use this key with other Windows operating systems.

If you want to reinstall the operating system from the original Windows CD, then you must use the key that belongs to this CD!

However, you can order a new CD from recovery of the ASP in your country.
Simply contact the guys. They might help you to order.
