Satellite A210 - 1 4 - BIOS Version of check

There are several BIOS updates on the website for my laptop Toshiba downlaods. However, I don't remember if I have already installed the. How can I find out the current version of BIOS of my PC? It doesn't matter if I install them again if they are already installed?

If your laptop works that well, you should not install anything, including BIOS update.

Start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. You will see actual BIOS version.

    > Has anyone else experienced problems with the A210 of overheating? All solutions?
    Hi mate

I m a Satellite A210 owner and to be honest, a higher internal temperature might occur if the laptop would not get enough air to cool the internal parts like CPU and GPU.
A few weeks ago, I used the laptop on the sofa I don't the opinion of t that the cooling that are placed at the bottom of the unit fans were clogged because of my position relax, if you know what I mean ;)

After a short period of use, the laptop shut down automatically I was a little surprised, but I realized that air could not circulate, and so the laptop overheated

Now, I m using the unit only on the desktop. This method is recommended, and it helps to keep the temperature at the lower level

  • Re: Satellite M30 604: update BIOS to disable checking of fan/temperature

    Hi all!

    I am a (satisfied) owner of a Satellite SM30-604.

It chanced that the internal fan broke and I managed to provide enough air "fresh" with other fans of two. Let me point out very well on this point: there is no overheating problems. But no fans are now connected to the motherboard (Intel odem i855pm-333, I guess).

Then, it appens when CPU reached 70-72 ° C (this is a normal temperature for this architecture), the mobo to slow down the processor, centrino M (1600 MHz) at a frequency which, roughly speaking, one quarter (400 MHz), leaving the laptop useless.

So my point is: is there a BIOS (also unofficial, modded or what else...) which can turn off checking of the temperature/fan motherboard?

    I'll help apriciate!

    ALE

PS: my current BIOS is Phoenix v1.70. I can't find an official update.

    > So my point is: is there a BIOS (also unofficial, modded or what else...) which can turn off checking of the temperature/fan motherboard?
No, there is no such BIOS.
What you can do is change settings in Toshiba Power Saver for energy savings (I assume you are using Win XP).
So Toshiba Power Saver you can change the method of control of the CPU to fixed and processing speed of the CPU to the next level.

  • Satellite A210 - update the BIOS didn't

    Hello

Just tried to update the BIOS on my Equium A210, everything went well until the closing and restarting (which failed).
He left me with a black screen and an orange to power lights, no back to zero and I only can we get rid of the orange light if I remove the battery.
OK, what I'm doing now?... is this repairable?

    See you soon

    > OK, what do I do now?... is this repairable?
    Yes and no.

You can't fix this, but the ASP technician can do that.
Therefore, you will need to contact the ASP in your country, to solve this
The technician would be able to Flash the ROM module and I think this should help you.

  • Installation of energy-saving on Satellite A210 - 11K on Windows XP Home edition.

I have difficulties with regard to the installation of Toshiba Power Saver on my laptop. I bought it originally with Windows Vista, which now I managed to get rid of.

My first attempt to install software errors gave these "access rights" when you try to run and 0x45A when I tried to uninstall. I have read on various forums I need Toshiba common modules, but reckoned I can't find a compatible version of this software on the internet.

Any chance you could help me? I'm running Windows XP SP3 and the laptop is a Satellite A210 - 11K PSAELE

I wonder where you found the XP Toshiba Power Saver for this satellite A210-11 K PSAELE.
I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and I didn t it for Windows XP.

So I guess you tried to install an incompatible Power Saver utility.

    Hello

I can't find the new BIOS update that includes SLIC 2.1 for my Satellite A210 - 16G (PSAELE) table.
I found "ACPI BIOS Flash version 2.00 for Satellite A215 (PSAFGU/PSAFHU)" (link: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1871687& rpn = PSAFGU & modelFilter = A210-ST1616 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = 1073768663), but I'm not sure, which is suitable for my laptop model. It is mentioned in the list of the applicable models A210-ST1616. It is compatible with my laptop Satellite A210 series model for?

Also I find this link to download BIOS: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp?service=EU. Can be here is the answer to the question of mine?

    People, please help with suggestions?

    Hi eldorado24,

Satellite A210 - 16G (PSAELE) belongs to the European models because it s listed on the page of Toshiba Europe. This means that the Australian page BIOS update will not work and it s listed for the other models (PSAFGU/PSAFHU). If this update is not done for your laptop.

On the European (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp) page, you can search for newer BIOS version:
    Laptop > Satellite > Satellite a series > Satellite A210 > PSAELE

  • Satellite A210-19Z (PSAFGE-05P00KGR) - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Hey guys,.

I'm happy with my Satellite A210-19Z (PSAFGE-05P00KGR), but I had some problems with the Energiesaving Mode on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
I read on the internet that a BIOS update would be useful on the download site there is only 1 update of the BIOS and that includes WinPhlash but WinPhlash does not work on Vista or Windows 7.

Because there is no other update tools on the host and my machine was delivered with the Vista operating system. Because of this, I created a bootable usb key with phlash16.exe and the 'm10a190.rom' I've renamed "bios.wph" on this subject.
When I start BACK and enter ' phlash16/x', my laptop starts the Application and I see a progressbar crossing. After perhaps a second I see the main menu of Phlash16 but it freezes until I am able to do something (the keyboard doesn't respond when I press a button).

Do you know what I did wrong, or is it not possible to update my BIOS?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to receive your reply soon.
    Chris

    Hey Chris,

I also checked the Web from Toshiba site for BIOS update on a series of Satellite A210 PSAFGE and it shows an update to BIOS version 1.90. This update is based on Windows and it will appear on all versions of Windows (XP, Vista 32 bit and Vista 64-bit). So perhaps you can explain what you mean with it doesn't work under Vista. You get an error message?

I understand that the update doesn't work on Windows 7 because at the moment are no drivers available for this system in that time so the update should only be done on XP or Vista. I put t understand why try to Flash the BIOS in DOS mode. It's really risky and you can destroy the ROM module in the worst cases.

I did also update the BIOS on my laptop, I did:
-Update the BIOS on a Toshiba preinstalled OS
-J' was logged in as an administrator
-J' closed all the running background processes and programs, also the antivirus, firewall and internet connection
-J' extracted all the files to zip archive and start the update has been done successfully.

    I hope I could help you! :)

    Hello

I've recently updated my BIOS on my Toshiba Satellite A210 - 11 c using WINPHLASH.

Just before I did, it made a backup of my old bios as a BIOS. BAK file...

How can I use it to go back to my old BIOS as my fans do not respect your laptop as cool as they use to be!

    Thank you!

You cannot old BIOS because the driver Toshiba page provides only the latest version of the BIOS.

In addition, the most recent BIOS should be better and improve
If you have cooling problems, then I would recommend changing the settings in the Power Options. Check the settings advanced as cooling CPU processing speed and performance.

  • Satellite A210 - BIOS does not work after upgrade

    Hello

I have a satellite A210-17 for a few years now, but I made the mistake to go to the Microsoft Web site
to make a BIOS setting to day and once I installed upgrading BIOS, that the laptop did not return ever on, black screen.

I brought a guy in the month city 3 or 4 he is, he said, it could replace a bios chip if necessary
but did nothing or I would have heard of him now.

Is it possible that I can get the bios chip and have him install for me?
I don't have 200 euros to replace the whole motherboard.

This laptop was brilliant before that.

    Thanks in advance

Update the BIOS is a very serious procedure, and the use of fake and not compatible BIOS would damage the motherboard.

To be honest, I don t think that the replacement of the EPROM would help you that of course, the BIOS is stored on EPROM module but in most cases this chip is soldered to the motherboard and the EPROM replacement will not be easy

To my knowledge the EPROM module could be flashed once more using the crisis disk BIOS and the special procedure. Usually, these updates of the crisis of the BIOS can be done by maintainer authorized Toshiba and that don t require the replacement of the EPROM module.

I also read in this forum that some guy tried to Flash the EPROM module to clean hands in some cases, it worked, but in different cases such update does not work correctly

However, I recommend you to use the advanced search option forum and check a few different discussions on crisis disk BIOS / update

Otherwise I recommend you contact the Toshiba ASP in your country and products BIOS Update of the crisis

  • Satellite A210-16F - BIOS update gone bad

Yes, the flash upgrade did not go with me as, like many I've seen. Weird that toshiba recommends a bios flash when you get the errors of installation win7 / vista, and have many fail.

I tried 3 versions of different bios of the internet, 2 from the site of toshiba (2.0 and 2.1, I thought) and alaa200a.rom.

When I do the disc of crisis with the crisdisk.bat (even do it in DOS) it copies all the files on the floppy disk, also tried different phflash versions. Older actually seem to load for 2 minutes, the most recent tend to charge for a few seconds then stops and starts loading again etc.

Needless to say that all my efforts with these bios have not paid off for a bit.

When I put the laptop normally and when I press the Fn key on the keyboard, the Fn actually lights up, but nothing else happens.

Anyone who would have an idea what to do, apart from buying a new bios chip?

    Thanks in advance.

    PS, I have a Satellite A210-16F PSAELE

    Hello

I think that you have to contact the ASP (SAV) to reflash the Bios. The Bios failure topics discussed almost every day and no one can give a good solution and more communicating with ASP.

You can read an article that maybe can be useful for you:

  • Need the original BIOS for Satellite A210 - 1AO PSAELE

    Hi all!

long in vain looking for the original BIOS for my satellite A210-1AO PSAELE-03Q00FRU (Vista32bit preinstalled).

Unfortunately I've updated and laptop lost the ability to disable.
VERY noisy DWD - ROM (TS-L632H) through the BIOS (but it worked without a doubt with the original BIOS)
It is also impossible to turn it off through the Device Manager (tried several times).

I looked for BIOS anywhere where I could (Yes, I tried to download & support from Toshiba for Europe, USA, Canada, China, Russia - no. satellite A210 PSAELE BIOS in lists, even for the A200 PSAELE).

Written in support of the Russia of Toshiba - no result. the point is that I don't know bios original version for my model, so I tried BIOS version 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.3 - no result.
The latest idea is to physically remove the DVD-ROM, but it is the solution.

So where can I find that BIOS? or you recoomend a truly customer friendly toshiba can support office?
    Thanks in advance!

  • BIOS update failed with the Satellite A210-17Z

I was asked by Tempro to update the BIOS of my laptop Satellite A210-17Z.
I agreed but the laptop turns off before completing the update of the BIOS. As a result, I can no longer boot my computer.

Looking for a solution on the internet, I have read that there is a possibility of creating a crisis recovery disk. I tried to do with the Phoenix crisis package, creating a crisis with a disk recovery disk and so on.

When you try to Flash the BIOS and the start-up of the machine, I was pretty convinced to succeed as the system did start reading the disk for about 2 minutes... but nothing happened.

I would like to know if anyone has experience and advice to help me recover my laptop.
I was told that I should try with the original version of the BIOS (the one I got when I bought the computer) but I do not know how to find it because I don't know what version I had at the beginning.

    Hello

To be honest, I think Tempro is the worst app Toshiba :-(that prompts users to update the Bios and after failure of the Bios. In this forum, you can find numerous threads about the failure of the Bios. He recommended to contact the ASP (SAV) to reflash it. You can read and ask other users how to recover the Bios Phoenix:

  • Question about 1.70 - victory on Satellite A210-19 bios

    Hi all
I have satellite A210 - 19A and I found a new victory in version 1.70 of the bios on toshiba website. Is it written somewhere of what precisely it fixed? I ve got BIOS version 1.50 now and my pc works well so I don't know if it's good to install it. I fear some strange things could happen and I know that I can't go back return old bios, or what I can?

Unfortunately, Toshiba doesn't publish details on the improvements in the BIOS.

But buddy note; If your laptop works properly without worries, then a BIOS update is not necessary. You should know that an update of the BIOS is always risky. Wrong or bad BIOS update procedure could damage the ROM. module
That is why a BIOS update must be done ONLY as a last resort!
